My shower is sadly lacking in Le Labo, what's with that? If the shower fairy happens by, do have her drop off some shower gel (shown left and right, Fleur d'Oranger 27 and Bergamote 22, $52 for 237 ml) plus some Body Lotion (Ylang 49, $68 for 237 ml) and perhaps some Bath Oil (Lys 41, $68 for 120 ml). A bar soap (not shown, but I'll take the Neroli 36, $48 for 226g) would not go unloved either. All can be found at good old Saks Fifth Avenue.
Diptyque Eau des Sens Soap ~ body product review
Sometimes I just need to cleanse my olfactory palate, not to mention my mind, after trying too many perfumes in a short period and overthinking everything. This is the right time for me to remember the simple pleasures of a really good scented soap. Soap was one of my “gateway” products into living a fragranced life — remember the giant Fresh soaps that were sold at Anthropologie in the 1990s (Verbena!), or the colorful and affordable glycerine bars lined up in every Body Shop?
Diptyque’s soaps require a bit more seeking out, not to mention more cash, but they’re ideal for very occasional splurges or special gifts for appreciative friends…
The daily lemming
I don't adore any of these fragrances, but I do adore the fantastic wrappings by artist Michael Angove. 100g bar soaps from Jo Malone, in Lime Basil Mandarin, Blackberry & Bay, Red Roses, English Pear & Freesia and Pomegranate Noir. $20 each. (And a tip from Angove: "Each of the soap wraps have been individually edited so that every soap has a little bug to find. While some are quite easy to find, some or impossibly difficult, especially on the English Pear and Freesia wrap, where there is a caterpillar in cognito.")
The daily lemming
A trio of "Liberty Print" soaps: "Be spoilt for choice with our Trio Set of premium Soaps, in the beautiful scents of Bergamot, Lemon and Fig. Designed to tingle the senses, the individually wrapped soaps come packaged in our iconic art deco style Liberty Print wrap, making them the perfect gift or bathroom shelf accessory." £20 at Liberty London.
Lush Sleepy Hand and Body Lotion & Serendipity Soap ~ scented body product reviews
Well! I’ve already dropped some hints, but this week is actually my ten-year anniversary at Now Smell This. My very first post, a review of Lush’s Bathos Bubble Bar, went live on December 17th, 2006. I’ve used countless body products over the past decade, but I’m still shopping at Lush, so this review is a return to my (scented) roots.
Since this a busy and often stressful time of year, I’ve decided to focus on two lavender-fragranced products. Lavender (as you most likely know!) is recommended in aromatherapy as a calming influence…
