Wednesday scent of the day 10/21

Posted by Robin on 21 October 2026 9 Comments

It’s Hump Day and National Apple Day. Birthdays today: Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Celia Cruz, Dizzy Gillespie, Ursula Le Guin, Carrie Fisher. What fragrance are you wearing?

I’m running late, so wearing what was already on my desk: Fendi Theorema, again.

Reminder: 10/23 will be Unbottling Emotions Friday ...wear a scent that you think embodies an emotion, and do tell us what that emotion is. Suggested by happy888cat.

And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2026, where I'll occasionally manage to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Took the dog out for an early morning walk and the sky was beautiful! I try to look upwards instead of downwards where there’s trash everywhere.

    “Armored cars sail the sky
    The pink at dawn
    If I lived forever you
    Just wouldn’t be so beautiful
    As the sun
    When it shines
    All over the world.”

That’s the song of the day and if you never saw a scooter and luggage carrier ballet, this one’s for you. Love the whole esthetic of the song and video.

I’m back in Chinchilla again because the vibe matches the song- dreamy, transcendent, and unexpected. It makes you feel like you’re tethered to the known world by the thinnest of threads and if breaks, well, that’s okay…

I’m going through my Santa Maria Novella samples, and I really love Ambra. It isn’t an exciting, “attention-grabbing” perfume that announces itself or gets you noticed. Layers well with the melograno body oil.

The emotion I associate with it is “longing”
the memory of something beautiful or something I smelt before
Great perfume to wear while reading with a blanket and chai tea

    Hello.
Sotd is Burberry Goddess. I received this sample from a restaurant server I know. She is a budding perfumista and she always love the scents I wear (and she notices how they are different all the time) so I gifted her some of my samples and she gave me Goddess in return. My emotion for this is “valued” and if I can add a second one it’ll be “seen”.

I’m in Eau d’Hadrien EDT, and the shower oil. I still love this scent after all these years. Still trying to get the work project back on the rails. If I get enough done I hope to see the movie Wicker this weekend-looks unusual and entertaining:)
