I got an email from Guerlain teasing a new perfume drop, the hint photo was of irises. Could it be Iris Ganache!?!? I am crossing my fingers and toes.
Bet it’s the reboot of L’Heure Bleue. I’m intrigued by the upcoming Rouge G lipstick case with the blue rhinestones, though I need another lipstick like a hole in the head.
I’m in the same boat, galbanumgal-and I still might buy one of the pretty blue cases. I love blue.

My SOTD and CP-compliant fragrance is the long-gone and long-ignored by me Aveda Pure-Fume Spirit perfume. I love these vintage Avedas, perhaps especially since I discovered them after they were already d/c so they had nostalgia appeal to me. They are all natural but have excellent longevity and all have the Aveda base which involves ylang and I don’t know what else. They are somewhat sweet but not by today’s standards and not gourmandy.
I think the Pure-Fume Spirit line was one that you did yourself at the shops, mixing different ingredients. Or maybe there was a line of them that you chose from, balancing chakras or whatever among earth, sky, water, etc. Perhaps someone here remembers.
I discovered a 15 ml spray vial at a flea market years later and have looked for them ever since but I realize this morning that I haven’t worn the two I have in a long time. The other one skews more masculine, with mint and herbs. Anyway, interesting stuff and ahead of its time.
More on the Aveda Pure-Fume Spirit line from Reddit – there were 7 of them. The one I’ve got one *might* be II, V, VI, or VII. I am bad with notes. Too bad the bottles didn’t have names on them.

Chakra III-equipoise: bergamot, jasmine, ylang ylang

I know I tried one or two of the Chakras way back when and did not fall in love, but wish I’d smelled #3.
I absolutely love the smell of Aveda Botanical Repair, and wish they had used it for one of the Chakra perfumes. Definitely has noticeable ylang, and according to their website, rose and marjoram, no idea what else.
Oh, these Avedas are perfect for the CP!! I have two of them and haven’t worn them in ages. Also, thanks for listing them and the notes. I want to figure out which ones mine are; I know one is the “classic” Aveda scent and the other one is the scent of their Brilliant line of hair care. I will have to make sure.
Were those Avedas around in the mid to late 1990’s? If so, I might have seen them at a hair salon I used to frequent back then.
I’m in Acqua di parma Mirto. I really love this scent, especially. I used the shower gel and perfume. I can’t identify any one note but the whole thing just smells great to me-fresh in a very different way. Love the blue teapot, Robin. Blue is my favourite colour.
Blue is my third favorite color (maybe depending on what day you asked) but my favorite decorating / house item color and the color I wear most often…that teapot would look great in my house!
Well, now we all want to know what your top 2 favorite colors are! Maybe in the future we could do a CP that matches our favorite color to a specific perfume, and why we chose it to represent that color? I’m down for that!

Catching up on the weekend poll and celebrating Forgotten/Forbidden (from Mr. allo) fragrances this week while he’s away😎
1. MM Romanza. Someone on Fragrantica called it a “melancholic indolic floral” and that describes it perfectly.
2. I tested Eris Parfums Mother’s Milk and liked it but didn’t “need” a FB.
3. Probably about 90%, both because I’ve had the collecting bug for several years now and also because the cheap source of much of my collection (testers) went away when my favorite local perfume shop closed a few years ago.
4. The holes are lemmings, unicorns I’ll likely never find in FB: Roberto Greco Oeillieres, SMN Nostalgia, Cuir de Russie EdT, old SL, etc. etc.
5. The inimitable Harlequin Glory Bower tree whose white flowers smell like the most gorgeous jasmine fragrance.
6. Holding baby waby!!!
The holes in my collection are the same. Perfume unicorns. One I have been thinking of lately is Aramis New West.

This is more of a past entrant to Forgotten Fragrances: I’am wearing SL Bas de Soie. As has previously occasionally happened, I will really like my first bottle of a perfume, run to get a back up bottle, and then start feeling rather so-so about it. I stuffed this second bottle of this into the armoire and forgot about it for a couple years.
During the pandemic I was doing some boredom-inspired deep cleaning and unearthed it. It was like Christmas in the spring, and I started wearing and enjoying it again , if not quite as fervently as the first round.
I wish I had done more boredom-inspired deep cleaning during the pandemic!
I have a box labelled Can Live Without: every now and then I go through it and re-try (some of) the contents to see if they’ve improved in my estimation. Usually not: I end up giving them away sooner or later, but on Friday I’ll see if anything grabs me. The rest of my collection is in constant rotation so not much gets past me (although I did discover Demeter Fuzzy Navel shoved into the back of a drawer the other day, and that was a surprise).
Today for some reason I was desperate to wear Hermès Rocabar, all that foresty goodness and lush vanilla at the end. It happens sometimes — I have an unquenchable desire for a particular scent and nothing else will do. Usually I just look through the collection until something grabs me, but sometimes my brain does all the work in advance. I already know what I’m wearing tomorrow: on the way home it was extremely humid and I thought, “I really need to be wearing Eau de Courrèges,” the perfect hot-weather scent: tomorrow is more of the same, worse even, so that’s that taken care of.
I used to have my samples and decants VERY organized but they have long since become a huge jumble. Your box sounds like a good idea.
We got the OK to head home this morning. Took us about 5 minutes to pack up and home within 20 minutes.
Everything was in better shape than expected. I hope my hibiscus and honeysuckle plants in pots are OK. Looked a bit shaggy, but they’ve been watered. We did a quick yard cleanup and had coffee on the patio.
Freshly showered, I applied some Chanel No. 19 edt. I’m beyond grateful to be home.

I am wearing Maison Rebatchi Joyeux Osmanthe for the CP. I first tried it in January, wore it again later that month, and then set it aside to see how it would perform in spring or early summer. And now it’s August!
Well, I’m sorry to say that I like it less now. There’s too much fruitiness and sweetness, and in the drydown it smells very much like fabric softener. A definite no.

Yes, I went to bed in a fairly nice floral fruity perfume. When I woke up, I thought: “Where is this strong floral fabric softener fragrance coming from?” Alas, it was Joyeux Osmanthe.
Happy birthday to my furbabies, big sisters Beautiful😻and Pretty 😽 who are 11 today, and little sister Adorable 😺, who’s 8. We got the big sisters from friends who adopted their then-pregnant mother from a shelter, or she would’ve either been aborted or euthanized had they not. I found the ‘little’ one in my backyard one September when she was about 3 weeks old (according to the vet) and she never left us; so since her actual birthdate would’ve been close to her big sisters,’ we celebrate all of them today. ❤️❤️❤️
SOTD and, inadvertently, cp-compliant (haven’t worn it in several years) is one of the EL White Linen flankers, Pure White Linen Pink Coral. A floral scent, it supposedly was introduced as a reminder of 🌞 days by the sea, but it has absolutely no notes that are reminiscent of anything sea-related; instead it’s lots of apple blossom and cherry blossom (where do these grow by the sea?) on a base of sandalwood, vanilla and heliotrope. It’s light and pleasant enough for summer but I don’t remember how I even came to have it.
We’re back to awaiting heavy storms again tonight. Just finished my volunteer stint at the library and looking forward to our monthly Green Drinks get-together tonight (luckily, indoors!). The featured speaker will be educating us on birding in Chicagoland.

Enjoy your evening learning about the birds. When we got back, my first mission was to wash and refill the hummingbird containers. I had pre-made their juice thankfully. We usually have more finches than hummingbirds drinking from them.

I’m not a person that normally gets headaches. Tonight though, I have a pretty bad one. It seems to be coming from my neck and shoulders. I think it might be stress. My plan is to watch the weather and go to bed.
Early this morning, I put on some Alien eau Sublime. I’m trying to wear my summer perfumes for the next two weeks.
