It's Wednesday and World Bicycle Day. RIP Peabo Bryson. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Bois 1920 Cannabis Fruttata.
Reminder: on 6/5, wear a fragrance with eucalyptus, if you have one. Suggested by Kanuka.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2026, where I'll occasionally manage to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Tea is Nocturne Oriental
SOTD: SMN Acqua della Regina (The Queen’s Water) Very beautiful and light cologne.
I’m enjoying the SMN posts, Lovestosmellgood. I had their mimosa scent years ago. My brother really loved it so I gave it to him.
Yeah, I also enjoy these mini reviews. I remember liking their Citta di Kyoto.
I was inspired by the Bond 007 CP!
I am enjoying the samples too.
So it’s cologne season in NYC now?
I’m in the lingering traces of Deixis this morning and heading out for a dog walk in the park, then will rethink the days scent.
RIP 60 Minutes. I watched and learned so much from this program all through my growing up years with my dad who was a long time news hound, ever curious about world events long before CNN or any other 24/7 news channel. Death of an American Icon. 🇺🇸 ☠️
Also, for anyone who is a die hard CP fan, I was in BBW yesterday and they have what I think is a new-ish release of eucalyptus body wash, lotion, and mist. I sampled and it’s nice! There’s still time to be compliant before Friday! It’s not the “stress relief” range of eucalyptus and spearmint but an altogether different item:

That is sad news re. 60 Minutes.
I feel the same about 60 minute which I started to watch when I lived in NYC in 1986.
*minutes
I remember my parents watching “60 Minutes” back in the day. I caught a few episodes during my junior high and high school years as well.
An icon is gone.
Good morning NST!
I’m wearing a custom fragrance called Santal Safavieh from a Persian-American perfumer friend of mine that contains Mysore sandalwood, rose, & spices. It is beautiful & makes me think of her and the 4,000 year old advanced Persian culture that flourished back when Northern Europeans were living shivering bare sustenance lives. The Persians I know are wonderful and I am so sorry their country is embroiled in war and suffering under a malign autocratic theocracy. I think a lot about how the ‘cradle of civilization’ has become a cradle of misery for many people in the Middle East and how the world is much poorer for this.
First of all your SOTD day sounds fantastic. Second of all I agree with you.
Your SOTD sounds amazing. I’ve had the pleasure to meet a few Persian expats over the years. Wonderful people to talk to.
Hermes Pamplemousse Rose over here-shower gel and EDC. I have a massage after work, and this makes me feel very happy. Unreasonably happy. Watching Criminal Record tonight-highly recommend this series. It’s just kind of a happy day. Hope there’s a few moments of contentment for everyone.
Hope it was a wonderful massage carole! Always lovely to hear anybody has a happy day.
Hello.
Sotd is Balenciaga Le Dix. It’s an iris bomb. Haven’t worn anything iris in a long while and it scratched an itch I didn’t realise was there.
Interesting, for me it’s all about violets.❤️
Had some fasting blood work early this morning and currently waiting in the waiting room my GP about weight loss meds. Currently commando for it. After my appointment, I will be giving Portrait of a Lady a go.
Good luck with your blood work
Hope all goes well with your blood panel results.
I am wearing Room 1015 Sweet Leaf. Its full pyramid:
Head Note: Grapefruit, Eucalyptus
Heart Note: Cannabis, Angelica Root, Turpentine
Base Note: Jasmine, Cashmeran Wood, Patchouli
Noticeable euclayptus on a piece of paper, mostly cannabis on my skin. I would like to smell more euclyptus on my skin, but no. Also, does not stay long on me.
Overall: I am a bit meh about it. Green, chill, quiet.
We were cannabis twins today Glannys, and I was less than meh about the Bois 1920. Kevin liked it but it is not for me.
Oh god – I missed your SOTD. I have a sample of Cannabis Fruttata. When I first wore it in late Febaruary and early March, I I quite liked it. But then I wore it again a few days ago and found something slightly unpleasant about it. So now I am not sure anymore whether I like it or not.
For me, the cannabis note is interesting but tricky – it’s hard to find the right perfume with it.
Yeah, to be honest I have no need whatsoever for a cannabis perfume! But Kevin liked it, so I tried it 🙂
I’m in my only truly eucalyptus-bearing scent, IA Every Storm a Serenade. The eucalyptus is definitely discernible, humming away behind the spruce, vetiver, ambergris and sea water. An underrated beauty.
Oh! I have a sample of that! Thanks for the info.
Eucalyptus: Atelier Cologne Pacific and a bit of Nicolai Eau de Yuzu. I also resorted to Fragrantica’s search, and it took a bit of scrolling to find options. Fun, though! I had a couple of samples of Eau de Yuzu, but they weren’t really my thing. I may be changing my mind about that.
Tea: Harney White Vanilla Grapefruit
Oh, have never explored Harney white teas…
I really love this one! This is the only one of their white teas I have tried, and now I’m pretty sure I need to remedy that.
No only do I not have anything with eucalyptus, I won’t be able to go broader with spa-herbal notes. Back in the day I had Eau de Jatamansi; the perfume I passed along as I didn’t wear it, and the bath soak was enjoyed and used up.
Oh, I had forgotten Eau de Jatamansi!
Imagining how eucalyptus-y I would be smelling in Olivia Giacobetti’s Vapeur Blanche were I home to grab it from the fort😊
How is the Perfume Fort holding up?
SheriG says Mediterraneo has eucalyptus so that’s what I am wearing today. I have two more scents with the note so I will be able to finish out the week.
The raspberries in the back yard are ripe so that was breakfast this morning. They are so good minutes after picking.
Can’t believe you have ripe berries already! Nothing like them, is there?
I love raspberries when they are warm from the garden, and the juice and flavour just bursts out. Delicious!
Oh, fresh sun-warmed raspberries are the best! Yum!
I’m still wearing Holy Hell, but planning to add Mediterraneo this afternoon (they should work well together, I think). Today is rest and housework and bits and pieces of things I need to accomplish.
Just read an article about the missile barrage in Kyiv yesterday. Thinking of Glannys and Kyiv residents and all the regular people anywhere just trying to live their lives during war.
Thank you for thinking about us, springpansy. Yes. Metro stations packed at nights like that one more than ever – probably the only place where you can be safe from a direct hit.
Sending you lots of love. I wish it would help.
💗
I’m wearing the wonderful Yard Next Door ( Smell Bent) which is pretty much straight up eucalyptus without any camphor or tea tree notes. It reminds me of a rock climbing holiday back in 1980 when we camped in a dusty gum forest in Queensland for a month. During the night and early mornings you’d hear the thump thump thump of kangaroos moving about, and in the day there were large goannas skulking around and lots of kookaburras . Everything felt close as we were just in small alpine tents, and there would be the latter of leaves and twigs falling on the nylon. There were also small pale scorpions and a few snakes. But the smell of the trees, particularly as the heat rose during the day….the scent shimmered in the air. So beautiful.
Those kookaburras! So much sound from a not huge bird. Your camping/climbing trip sounds like it was great fun.
What an adventure!
Good morning from my mother’s house. I’m visiting her for a few days, and I’m also meeting Kanuka tomorrow. I’m very much looking forward to a chat about perfume and many other things.
I worked at our local office yesterday and enjoyed seeing people in real life. I’m back there again today and will be wafting Lubin Idole – I hope they like it as much as I do 🙂 .
Looking forward to seeing you. I have some perfumes for you.
I love that you will be getting together. Have fun!
Pomegranate fruit powder and yogurt smoothie
It’s real cool today 18C high only, yesterday 19C, in weather what a difference a week can make. This morning Chloe Eau de parfum lumineuse because I found it to my astonishment at the bottom of my letter rack, I recall Lillyjo loves it and I find it pretty indeed and tonight Shalimar MVP which I know Deva wears, my bottle had been neglected.
I wish it was 19 here! Sadly it is 29 and will be for the forseeable future. Not a fan of summer heat.
I read this as I wish *I* was 19 — how was that just yesterday and yet so many years ago? But I realize you were talking about weather. I guess I am just nostalgic.
*Commiseration about this heat forecast, wish our weathers could balance each other out😀
I love your weather temps!
😀
You smell very pretty Aurora!
Thank you Lillyjo, I was so surprised to find this sample and immediately thought of you😀
19 degrees C sounds quite pleasant.
Yes, I think you’re right but yesterday was windy and rainy, I’ll keep the rain but would send the wind somewhere else.
Ha! My brother is not a fan of windy weather either.
I started with Shalimar iris but it wasn’t doing it for me so I layered on some Angelique Noire. Much nicer.
I should try this combo even though I personally think either one stands on its own.
I love Angelique Noire!
SOTD = American Perfumer Liz Zorn Mt. Adams EDP
Lovely citrus. I am trying not to buy from the one-off perfumes but sometimes my curiosity gets the best of me. I got this a few years ago and opened it for the first time.
Yesterday was Primary Day in NJ and I was a poll worker. I was pleased with the very small number of participants although the last hour (7-8pm) was quite busy. As such, we were able to finish 2 500-piece puzzles. Once they are modgepodged I will either display them for sale ($1 each, no missing zeros) … the only problem is the person who knows about modgepodging was out yesterday. I left a message earlier today but haven’t gotten a call back as yet. No big deal if they refuse to do it.
In other news, here’s a feel good gift article from the New York Times about something wonderful that happened to a college graduate from Australia. BTW, I do not control the comments section so it is what it is..
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/06/02/world/australia/la-la-land-sydney-concert-audience-member.html?unlocked_article_code=1.nVA.RQTK.bOB5ROPkhocg&smid=nytcore-ios-share
That WAS a fun article–amazing, really. Thank you for sharing it, as I’m not a subscriber.
Happy to do so!
It’s been a while since I have poked around the new Soivohle website.
I believe this was one of those enter into a “lottery” if interested. I don’t even think I’ve ever been to website and if I did, it was years ago!
Great story!
Definitely a feel good story!
No eucalyptus scents here, and so I went with something I hadn’t worn for a long time, Le Labo Poivre 23, the London city exclusive, in the small sized (but still pricey) bottle. I’d wanted this for several years before splurging on it. It’s subtle and somewhat linear, but I do really love it. We’ve had buckets of rain here off and on, and it’s a bit dreary out. Must be nap time.
Rainy weather is excellent sleeping weather.
Unsettled weather again today, with plenty of Lightning Alerts on my phone this afternoon. But heating up rapidly as well. It’s supposed to be near 90 degrees here for the next 3 or 4 days.
SOTD = Glossier You FLEUR EdP, from the Sample Stash. Another flanker that I prefer over the original, which goes full vuvuzela on me. But I don’t think any of the Glossier perfumes I have tried are FBW.
You’re really stuck in a stormy pattern!
That can happen with the summer monsoon. But I figure hot and sunny weather will be here soon enough. We really need the moisture here, so I am not upset.
Wow, that’s a few warm days coming up.
Yep! But 90-degree temps are pretty common in summer. People don’t freak out until it gets close to triple digits.
More crazy weather in your neck of the wood, if only our weather could even each other out.
Volatile weather is especially common this time of year here. So I am expecting plenty of crazy to come down the pike.
I was in La Pausa today. We did get the storm today as promised (we usually don’t). Lovely seeing rain and a bit of a thunderstorm.
Hurray for rain! IIRC, your area has been parched this year too.
Yes, so happy for rain! You are correct; it’s been super dry here.
Yes, so happy for rain! You are correct; it’s been super dry here.
Another beautiful day here but getting warmer each day. Sitting in our historic movie theater waiting for this month’s classic film to begin: the 40th anniversary showing of Ferris Bueller (my, how time flies!). The young organist is about to begin his pre-movie performance on our historic pipe organ.
Yoga earlier today inspired my choice of SOTD: the d/c YR Neonatura Souffle (called Breathe in the USA). Tiare flower, ylang-ylang and jasmine midnotes topped with sunny lemon and orange and resting on a vanilla amber base. But what makes this so special is the spicy ginger note at the very top. Somehow it has a powdery, almost sandy vibe to it and makes me think of meditating on a beach. It is my summer yoga scent and I love it! 🧘♀️
Time to go, the music has started 🎶
Have fun!
Wow, 40 years. And it might be that long since I’ve seen it? Enjoy!
I’m beautiful day twins with Laila. I’m getting out my summer perfumes. Today I am wearing Dusita La Douceur De Siam.
I looked to see if I have any eucalyptus perfumes, and I don’t. I will have to figure something else out for Friday.
Glad that you are enjoying lovely weather at the moment.
Do you have any perfumes with a camphor note? Someone here mentioned it as adjacent the other day.
I will have to look. I do have a mint note perfume.
At least someone has good weather, glad it’s you. I checked too, I have 3.
Aurora, I hope you are just waking up and haven’t been up all night.
It’s nice that I haven’t had to complain about the weather lately!
Have no fear Lillyjo, my comment is from this morning.
