Jean Paul Gaultier has launched Les Ateliers Gaultier, a new luxury collection with six fragrances: Ambre Tatouage, Cuir 1976, French Oud, Musc Terrible, Rose Palace and Santal Paname.

Ambre Tatouage ~ Developed by perfumer Marie Salamagne; fruity amber. "At Gaultier, tattooing is an obsession. Since the very beginning, the designer has embraced its codes. He embroiders them, stitches them, twists them. Fashion and tattoo? Inseparable. With Ambre Tatouage, fragrance becomes scented ink. It marks the skin with intensity, drawing its inspiration from that gloved silhouette from the 1984 archives. At the heart? A warm amber indulging in candied fig. A sensuality that settles in. Like a tattoo you never regret. A trail that becomes a second skin." Additional notes include benzoin and patchouli.

Cuir 1976 ~ Developed by perfumer Quentin Bisch; gourmand leather. "1976. The year everything changed. Gaultier began shaking up fashion. No more dusty codes, make way for bold audacity. That year, he turned the ordinary into the extraordinary. Cuir 1976 captures that founding spirit. Playing it safe? Not in his nature. At the heart of the fragrance, a leather that asserts itself. French Oud ~ Developed by perfumer Jordi Fernandez; woody citrus. "France. Its craftsmanship. Its chic. Its irreverence. Musc Terrible ~ Developed by perfumer Quentin Bisch; amber musky. "There are those who follow the rules. And then there is Jean Paul… who prefers to rewrite them. Uncompromising, the designer has always had fun doing things his own way. Fashion free and provocative. Musc Terrible captures that rebellious spirit. A fragrance that makes a statement. Rose Palace ~ Developed by perfumer Florian Gallo; woody floral. "The Palace. Paris’s legendary address. For Jean Paul, it was far more than a club. It was his playground. Santal Paname ~ Developed by perfumers Coralie Spicher and Fabrice Pellegrin; woody fruity. "Paris and Gaultier? A mad love story. At night, especially… From the Moulin Rouge to the Folies Bergère, Paname by night lights up and never fades. This city dares everything, provokes. It apologizes for nothing and certainly not for being Jean Paul’s insolent accomplice. Santal Paname captures that after midnight spirit. A sandalwood that sets the rhythm. A blackberry that crashes the party unannounced. Generous. Intense. This duo makes a statement. Santal Paname is Paris after dark. When the capital lets loose and shines without restraint." Jean Paul Gaultier Ambre Tatouage, Cuir 1976, French Oud, Musc Terrible, Rose Palace and Santal Paname are available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum (approximately €260), and in a discovery set. There is no date as of yet for a US launch.
