So glad that I wasn’t drinking a beverage when I read this! I would have had a spit take.
That was almost a coffee over the keyboard moment for me too – didn’t think ‘wanker’ was a commonly used term in the US, unlike here in the UK, where it most definitely is! I do remember an episode of Miami Vice which Phil Collins was in, & he used it, which I think caused a bit of a kerfuffle on your side of the pond!
It is not commonly used here but I think everybody knows what it means 🙂
