Posted by Robin on 3 September 2010 14 Comments

Victoria's Secret Bombshell

Victoria's Secret has launched Bombshell, a new fragrance for women:

Sexy today. Sexy tomorrow. Sexy forever. A glamorous blend of purple passion fruit, Shangri-la peony and vanilla orchid.

Victoria's Secret Bombshell is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, $45, and in a variety of matching bath & body products. (via victoriassecret)

Update: Victoria's Secret Bombshell is an aromatic fruity floral; additional notes include Italian Sunstruck Pine. (via prnewswire)

the striped bottle is kinda neat. I always like to sniff a peony fragrance, but Victoria’s Secret scents have always struck me as “screechy” and headache inducing. Years ago I wore Heavenly for a little while but gave it up because, well, that headachey thing.

I am not in the peony camp, Shangri-la or no ;-)

“Sexy today. Sexy tomorrow. Sexy forever.”

I can picture the photoshoot for this one:

Photographer to Model: “I said Sexy! Sexy TODAY! Sexy TOMORROw! SEXY FOREVER! come on Dree Hemingway! Gimme SEXY OR ELSE!” hehehehehehe

p.s.: I don´t know If dree is ever doing anything with VS just that she is EVERYWHERE nowadays, she even landed a graphic campaign for a jeans company here in Argentina!

Yawn, ok another fruity floral with vanilla.
God I really hope this style isn’t considered SEXY FOREVER.

*sigh* I really wish they would bring back Victoria. Anyone know of one that comes close?

I wore Victoria in college. I would love to find something like it again. It was so pretty.

Be careful taking this on the plane…

    TSA Agent…”What’s in here, miss?”

    Traveler…”Oh…just some bombshell.”

You’ll be lucky to get on the plane!

Neither that bottle nor those notes say “bombshell” to me. And if there’s one word I won’t have bandied about thoughtlessly, it’s bombshell. Do not take bombshell in vain, Victoria’s Secret! You may have ruined underwear for me, don’t ruin the good name of the bombshell.

Unfortunately today’s definition of bombshell is possibly more Paris Hilton than anyone else. Personally I think the only young and popular celebrity/actress bombshell of today that comes even close to bomshell is Scarlett Johansson. A more mature and better bombshell would be Christina Hendricks of Mad Men. And I just can’t picture any of these women wearing this perfume. Well, except maybe Paris but she would never admit it because she has her own perfume line. ;) And this “bombshell” right here is not even slightly tempted to sniff at all.

I’m with you, Fuddy Duddy … and I expect it will have the identical nondescript ‘plastic’ drydown of all their fragrances of late.

I was just in one yesterday (I was looking for a silk nightgown, I swear!) and did not see any sign of that bottle (the ribbon on the bottle reminds me of the box for one of the Viktor & Rolf scents, the name of which now escapes me), so it must have launched literally today. I will admit I sniffed Rapture, though, and I swear it’s been reformulated… ah, I miss those old VS scents.
