Maison Margiela Scentsorium Collection ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 2 April 2026 2 Comments

Maison Margiela has introduced the Scentsorium Collection, with six luxury unisex fragrances: Anguish & Awe, Blaze of Stillness, Delight in Despair, Fit of Folly, Silent Fury and Tender Defiance.

The Scentsorium Collection distills into fragrance the most fundamental contrasted human emotions. Six radical olfactive Chapters of Life.

Anguish & Awe ~ Perfumer Delphine Lebeau. "...the olfactive representation of thrills of the unknown—the first moment you truly step out on your own. It is a fragrance defined by contrasts: everything feels beautiful and terrifying at once, joy and pain blur into one transformative emotion. The fragrance opens with luminous bergamot essence, delivering a bright, fleeting lift. At the heart, geranium heart Madagascar adds crisp, green tension that melts into the spicy depth of rose heart absolute—rich, textured, and emotionally charged. In the base, Virginia cedarwood and a dark leather accord create structure and contrast, grounding the florals with refined edge. The result is a striking ambery floral where romance and intensity coexist."

Blaze of Stillness ~ Perfumer Antoine Maisondieu. "...embodies the awakening of the self—that luminous moment when the future feels infinite, untouched, and full of promise. A fragrance about hope, imagination, and the fragile excitement of new beginnings. Blaze of Stillness Parfum is a unisex amber-floral fragrance with a softly feminine elegance. It opens with a luminous bergamot duo and neroli essence, creating a radiant citrus glow. At the heart, fig accord and orange blossom absolute bring creamy sweetness and blooming warmth, while the base of Indonesian patchouli heart, Madagascar vanilla absolute, and suede accord leaves a smooth, lasting trail on the skin."

Delight in Despair ~ Perfumer Nisrine Grillé. "...the moment of euphoria that follows a rupture. More than a scent, it is a statement: the bittersweet beauty of ephemeral joy, and the courage to surrender to the moment before it fades away. Delight in Despair Parfum is a scent for men and women. The fougere musky fragrance opens with Top Notes of a Saffron Milk Accord, where the "ruby jewel of spices" is blanketed in a voluptuous, creamy warmth to set a vibrant, gourmand tone. Its Heart Notes reveal a signature Patchouli Duo and Cedarwood Essence, layered with a powdery Iris Accord for structured elegance that anchors the scent during the transition of Winter and Autumn. As it dries, Base Notes of a Musks Overdose (featuring Musc Sylkolide and Musc Serenolide) and a resinous Oud Accord create a refined, long-lasting base that feels confident and commanding."

Fit of Folly ~ Perfumers Suzy Le Helley & Philippe Paparella. "...the fragrance of the wisdom of surrender. It captures the "Grand Final": the moment you look back and realize that nothing was ever guaranteed. Chapter 6 is about accepting the absurd and embracing your own spark of folly. With that surrender comes a lighter kind of wisdom, like a breath.[...] This fougere musky scent opens with Top Notes of Calabrian Bergamot Heart Essence, creating a dizzy, prismatic moment where reason slips away and the world tilts. Its Heart Notes reveal a verticality of Musks and Sandalwood Essence. As it dries, Base Notes of a Mineral Ambery Wood Accord, Patchouli Essence, and Vetiver Heart create a refined, liberating base that feels like a state of total abandon."

Silent Fury ~ Perfumer Tanguy Guesnet. "...the smoldering embers of rebellion—the moment a dream meets resistance and builds into a quiet, burning tension under the skin. It is an olfactive homage to the moments where boundaries are crossed, and dignity is reclaimed through an assertive, internal heat. Silent Fury Parfum is a unisex spicy ambery fragrance with a structure that leans traditionally masculine, built on the contrast between cold spice, burning tobacco, and deep woody warmth. The opening reveals Guatemalan cardamom heart, delivering a sharp, cooling spice that feels electric against the skin. At the heart, a powerful tobacco accord unfolds with smoky, leathery, and slightly honeyed facets, creating depth without heaviness. The base blends Virginia cedarwood essence with cistus absolute and patchouli, leaving a resinous, balsamic trail that feels warm, intense, and long-lasting."

Tender Defiance ~ Perfumer Dominique Ropion. "...the moment of rupture— An audacity that tears open the seam of routine, making space for freedom to flood in. More than a scent, it’s a statement: The courage to stay true to yourself. Tender Defiance Parfum is a scent for men and women. The woody ambery fragrance opens with the crisp, spicy burst of anise oil, setting a fresh, energized tone. Its heart reveals a signature licorice accord, layered with fir balsam heart for structured masculine warmth that anchors the scent during the transition of Fall and Winter. As it dries down, amber accords and smoky, ethereal volutes create a refined, long-lasting base that feels confident and commanding."

Maison Margiela Anguish & Awe, Blaze of Stillness, Delight in Despair, Fit of Folly, Silent Fury and Tender Defiance are available in 30 ($190) and 75 ($350) ml Eau de Parfum.

The bottles at least are less boring than their regular offerings. If anyone has done any sniffing do report back,
