The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 17 February 2026 9 Comments

My latest reason to run over to Lush: limited edition Marmalade Body Wash. "We daresay you’ll be wanting some marmalade … Well, the good news is this Paddington™ x Lush body wash contains all the oranges a bear could ever want, with orange peel, juice, oil and even orange blossom honey water. As well as putting the whole fruit in, this body wash comes with a wonderfully hydrating lather" (100g or 240g tubs, $15-$30). Also new and lemmable, Banoffee Pie Shower Gel: "Gooey, caramel-sweet and better than a slice of the real thing — not a soggy bottom in sight! Indulgent tonka and vanilla serve up all the decadence of the popular British banana toffee dessert, while 5% banana adds a skin-softening sweetness that you’ll simply go bananas for" (3 sizes, $11.50 - $36).

Hopefully I’ll have Marmalade body wash here to sniff by the end of today. I ordered the whole Paddington body collection (in addition to the body wash, there’s a bar soap, bubble bar, and bath bomb) plus two shower gels, Salam and Sunrise, this weekend and got surprise upgraded to next day shipping. I’m excited to smell them all, as they were all blind buys.

Please please report back on Salam and Marmalade!!

I adore Sunrise, at least, the version that came out in early 2025 and would think it hasn’t changed but who knows…I bought 2 backup bottles just in case. Already on bottle #2 so might go get another.

They both smell great to me! Marmalade is a richer, darker orange blossom honey but still with some candied sweetness. Salam smells really juicy and grape-y. Reminds me of a richer Korres White Grape shower gel. It has a bit of that grape candy vibe to it as well.

I just sniffed in the bottles, not sudsed up or anything.

I love the scent idea! But I’ve complained to LUSH before about adding in solid extras like this orange peel. Where do they think it goes? It goes down the drain and gets trapped in the shower pipes which usually have a trap or filter. Same with their very annoying cranberry soap a couple of years ago that was decorated with whole cranberries and some other green bit! None of this dissolves, it clogs the drain.
Rant over, I’ll probably buy this 🙄. I’m weak.

I have the same complaint about Marmalade that Kelly Red does. No chunkies! Plus I am not exactly a fan of those tubs.

Even if the smell sounds amazing, based on therabbitsflower’s review.

I am not a fan of tubs either, but I will probably buy it anyway 🙂

P.s. I mostly mix shower gels, and if it mixes nicely with something else I will probably just mix it in advance instead of trying to mess around with it in the shower. I keep all the little empty Lush travel size bottles for my various concoctions 🙂
