Happy Almost-Friday! It's also World Kidney Day and International Riesling Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
Me: day 2 in L’Artisan Parfumeur Jacinthe des Bois.
Reminder: on 3/14, wear a fragrance with a hyacinth note, if you have one. If you don't, pick another spring flowering bulb?
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2025, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

I’m wearing Un Jardin Sur Le Nil today, pulled from my box of minis. I love the top fruity notes, but I didn’t realize that it included hyacinth in the notes, which I saw in the listing by Fragrantica. So I am accidentally CP compliant.
Best kind of points are the accidental ones 🙂
Plus you smell great.
I am in L’Artisan Passage D’Enfer, soap, perfume, and hand cream. So relaxing!
I ordered a bottle of CdG Jaisalmer last week from LuckyScent that was supposed to arrive on Monday. However, according to the USPS tracking, the package was forwarded to a different address, and no reason or more updates have been provided since then. Does anyone know if LuckyScent will be willing to send a replacement or refund the money? I am pretty concerned about it.
You smell amazing! I can’t imagine that LuckyScent wouldn’t take care of it since it’s clearly their error. I hope they expedite a bottle to you and that very soon you are basking in Jaisalmer💐
Thank you, Allo! I will contact LS right away and I hope this issue gets resolved.
Wow, do you smell wonderful!
I would call Luckyscent and talk to customer service, I’m sure they’ll make it right.
Thank you, Ringthing! I am contacting them now. Fingers crossed they make it right.
You will soon be smelling great in Jaislamer.
Wonderful purchasing choice!
I love all the CdG incense and incense-adjacent lines!
Could it be it’s not LS’s fault?
USPS has been spotty of late. I’m in L.A. and sent a swap package to Santa Clara in February and it ended up in New Jersey before finally heading back across the states to its clearly labeled NoCal address. At any rate, I agree with everyone else, LS has excellent CS so they will make it right. But yeah, the wait is annoying when you are anticipating a new bottle.
Thank you, DeniseH! I have also had some issues with USPS lately. Long waits, lost packages, etc. A total mess!. I hope LS is willing to resolved the issue, if it is not their fault.
pl67 – you read my mind! Passage D’Enfer is for me today, too.
Luckyscent is pretty great. I have been shopping there and ordering from them since the year they opened in LA. Postal service overall has been pretty good considering the fires.
Fingers crossed you get your fragrance soon.
Yay! twins! We are smelling great! I have been craving incense perfumes lately. I might do a week or so of incense soon.
Thanks for the info on LS. I will let you guys know how it ended up.
Good luck with your package!
I hope they correct that for you. I had a similar thing happen with a Lush order a few years ago. I think my order was mixed up with the one beside mine with the labeling somewhere down the line. I reached out to them; they told me to keep the ” wrong” order and they also sent me my “right” order.
USPS has been flaky in my area, too. I had something travel out to Missouri before it turned around and got to my mailbox. And it was coming from the West Coast!
Joining others in Ostara (thanks to a generous decant from therabbitsflower🌸).
I am thinking about all of the generous swaps over the years and how grateful I am for all of the lovely connections I’ve made with other NSTers via the Swapmeet.
Nsters really are the best!
Ditto!
Hello.
Sotd is MMM Under The Stars. Smokey oud leather, dense, powerful and a little sweet. It smells pretty pretty good! Glad there are some suddenly cooler days ahead so I can wear it.
You could wear it here today…feels like spring but chilly spring 🙂
That MMM sounds really good!
Dior Eau Fraiche
Excellent.
Hi everyone. Claiming points today in Estee Lauder White Linen, I picked up a partial mini that I will enjoy this spring and summer. For some reason, spring makes me crave aldehydes.
Aldehyde twins! I’m in No.5 L’eau. Another gorgeous day!
I busted out my 15ml of Iris Silver Mist today after yesterday’s Flos Mortis.
You smell great!
Happy Thursday, everyone!
I’m non-compliant in Kenzo Jungle Homme, (Olivier Cresp, 1998.) It’s so cozy – spicy, woody, lightly citrusy, and beautifully balanced. A real gem. Seriously, you could tell me it’s from Eris or Akro or Amouage and I’d believe you.
The spice and woods combo, without overt florals, perhaps gives it a slightly masculine edge to some, but to my nose it’s unisex. And it’s still available for a (relative) song!
Happy Thursday Daniel! I think anybody could wear Jungle or Jungle Homme, personally. Slight edge to the women’s bottle though, better cap!
I am wearing Chanel No 19 EDP today and drinking a cup of Prince Of Wales tea.
Do they go together?
I’m wearing J-Scent Hydrangea, which, despite its name is a hyacinth perfume. It’s a good spring flower scent and also has lily of the valley in its notes.
That one sounds really really pretty. Have never tried the brand at all I don’t think.
Sounds pretty
It’s Cristalle EDT for me today. Now that I know it has a hyacinth note, I can actually detect it! Many moons ago, I discovered hundreds of hyacinth and crocus bulbs in the yard, dug them all up, and replanted them in a better location. That house has since been torn down, and I wonder what became of all those bulbs.
Ooh! I will have to sniff it too, to see whether I spot it.
You smell great today SheriG!
Put on some Douceur de Siam this morning, which has faded, but since the friend I’m meeting this afternoon is anti-perfume that probably is for the best.
That’s a goody, but it does fade pretty quickly.
International Riesling Day! I can get behind that. Though I think I celebrated International Riesling half-year when we lived in Germany, as we were in the centre of wine country.
Tauerville Hyacinth and a Mechanic for me today.
I love a good Riesling too and will be twins with you tomorrow😊
Thank you, guys, for your kind comments yesterday.
Today I am in Goutal Heure Exquise. While it is more about iris and galbanum, there is hyacinth as well.
You smell really wonderful, Glannys! Are you wearing the edp or the edt?
Thank you! 🌞😎
It appears to be the EdT.
I am in Ninfeo Mio
House Twins- forgot to add that
Hi twin!
Fantastic choice, Glannys! I wore that a few days ago.
That’s a beautiful one. I got a sample recently from another NSTer, and really liked it.
Definitely got the iris and galbanum when I tried Heure Exquise. The hyacinth was being a shy violet on me. Never could pick it out.
I’m somehow still more short of time than usual! But I always have time to spray some perfume, I’m wearing Chamade with its hyacinth note.
Hope you catch up eventually Gaynor…
I am wearing Lise Watier Neiges again.
I went to the beauty event yesterday and tried the new Hermes lipsticks.
They are all beautiful, i was hesitant between two colours, the fuchsia one from the exclusive spring collection and one darker berry colour ( Rouge Grenade), the texture is between lip shine and lipstick, and the packaging is to die for. I got the Rouge Grenade.
There was also a beige colour with shimmer in the spring collection that got my attention.
Hmm…now I think I should look into these. I’m not a huge makeup person but I love a good dark berry colour that crosses the line between lipstick & lip shine.
SOTD = Comme des Garçons Sticky Date
Nice! I FINALLY found my long lost bottle in the unlikeliest of places while looking for something else. It is pastry honey nutty sweet iris- love it!

Speaking of smells, here’s a gift article on hunting Oregon truffles. I like them in subtle quantity. I once went to a restaurant (in Lisbon, I think) that served everything with some kind of truffle, so much so that the place stunk of truffles … not a good smell since my hair absorbs these smells.

Another fan of CdG Sticky Cake here, hajusuuri!!
That article was fun, thanks!
I like reading about truffle hunting, truffle wars, truffle pigs and dogs, more than I like eating truffles, especially at those prices.
Makes sense that they would be found in coniferous Oregon.
Is the Upper Midwest next? Gotta be some truffles there too, methinks.
I think I remember when you got Sticky Cake. It must have been lost for quite a while.
Cute kitteh!
I remember going to a fancy restaurant in Philly when they had a truffle tasting menu. I enjoyed it very much!
Aromatics Elixir which has lots of notes, probably no hyacinth though.

The end of an era
Good thing she has a side gig with us.
I wish her all the best.
Loved “Good thing she has a side gig with us” SO much!!!
Wow.
The question is: will she still host the damage polls here?
But of course!
I am wearing BDK Rouge Smoking today. I’m at the beach and I am not sure I have any hyacinth fragrances. Rouge Smoking does have heliotrope, so starts with “h” might put me in line for a half point.
Rouge Smoking was one of my favorites from the BDKs I sampled. Enjoy the beach!
That’s the last sample I have to try from this month’s Scentrique discovery pack. I was saving it for the weekend — glad to hear there’s a chance I might like it more than most of the others.
Frozen cherries and yogurt smoothie
For the CP this morning, Quartz de Molyneux and for the CP tonight Grand Amour.
I love Grand Amour, you will smell like a happy, sunny spring day.
Thank you😀
Smelling great in Quartz! I had no idea that there was hyacinth in it; on me I get slight woods. It’s a stunning fragrance.
Thank you Gail, it’s rather fruity as well, it’s a softer Diorella for me.
Quartz is lovely!
If it has hyacinth, that’s yet another option for tomorrow. I seem to have thunked my sample of vintage Chamade…
Grand Amour showed up a lot when I was researching hyacinth perfumes. I don’t remember it, but I am sure it is perfect for this CP.
Yes, it’s a classic hyacinth resembling Chamade.
I’m a bit off project wearing my newest acquisition Venice Rococo from Arquiste. And I got complimented on it again today. This one definitely gets noticed! Earlier I did a note search on Fragrantica and only found one perfume that I have with hyacinth, so I’ll save that for tomorrow. We have been having delightful spring weather but today it’s 87F degrees and I am NOT ready for this!
87 degrees F for you already?!? That seems too much, too soon.
I love Venice Rococo and am jealous of your bottle! I’m keeping my eye out for a good deal or sale. Actually, I wish they’d make it in a travel spray, but that’s probably asking too much. In fact, they also don’t make a travel spray of my other current favorite Arquiste discovery, Misfit.
We had a regional visit today at work. They came to tell us everything we need to fix before next months corporate visit. I wanted to smell put together and unassuming so I wore No.5 L’eau. It was 60 degrees with sunshine today.
Smelling great in No. 5 L’Eau despite the stinky day at work!
I truly love L’Eau. I love the atomizer too.
L’Eau is fantastic! No. 5 finally clicked when I tried it. It’s on my short-list for when I’m off my self-imposed no buy.
Commando today. I had a doctor appointment in the afternoon and got my first flu shot ever. I will be back to perfumed hijinks tomorrow!
Looking forward to your perfumed hijinx!
Hopefully you won’t have a sore arm tomorrow.
So far, so good. But I might end up having an early night. Getting any kind of shot tends to do that to me.
Teflon kitty was glad to see me when I got home. 😉
I hope the flu shot is kind to you. Thankfully when I get it, it’s not nearly as rough as the covid shot. An early night sounds good.
I don’t think anything could be as bad as those COVID shots!
I was in a few drops of an Avon fragrance Foxfire, courtesy of a wonderful NST’er. I looked up the note on Fragrancenet, otherwise would have missed this for the CP. There’s a nice deep note in the drydown, not quite sure what it is.
Never heard of that Avon perfume!
I hadn’t either. I was familiar with Moonwind, Imari, Sweet Honesty and Somewhere. Plus I’m sure lots more I’m forgetting at the moment. They had some great ones back then.
I remember Timeless, Moonwind, Candid, and Occur! My Mom wore those sometimes.
I remember all of those and wore all of those and then some…. Ariane was always my favorite
I had to look it up. I remembered it once I saw a vintage (I think 70’s) bottle. Gosh how I loved going through the Avon catalog.
Wasn’t that fun to look through? Simpler times.
I loved how affordable they were!!!!!!! And they all smelled amazing!!!
You smell great!!!!
