Tuesday scent of the day 10/1
Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit! Welcome to October. Also, happy International Day of Older Persons, and we interrupt Teapot Tuesday to bring you International Coffee Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I’m taking cinnamon points in Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Bakul Medjool.
Reminder: on 10/4, for National Cinnamon Roll Day, wear a fragrance with a cinnamon note…
Literally doused
Louis XIV served as inspiration for ‘Absolu’. When he was raised as the Sun King, he imposed his tastes on all aspects of court life, including perfume. The young king detested the pungent, animal notes used by most and preferred the more delicate floral notes. Orange blossom was his absolute favourite.
He would require to be literally doused with orange blossom water in the mornings. They would use large syringe-like devices to spray the scented water on him and his garments.

Lazy 3-day weekend poll ~ open thread, late September 2024
The swapmeet is open for business through Tuesday! Then Donatella will be dropping by on Thursday.
Meanwhile, we’re marking the last days of September with our usual open thread poll. Talk about anything you like — the fragrance you’re wearing today, the fragrance you’re most excited about trying soon, whatever.
Or, ask a question about fragrance, then see if anyone else has asked a question that you can answer…
