Feeling so sore and tight, I want a nice spa/massage/facial. After looking at different places and comparing, a typical 90~120min session = the price of a FB… I guess I am not *that* stressed so I will rather buy something nice and have a soak in my own bath tub. 😉
That sounds like a good plan. I go to a local high school that has a salon that’s open to the public for the seniors to do facials and massage along with regular salon stuff for very low prices. As a senior citizen, lots of the services are free.
How nice! Seniors deserved to be pampered. 🙂

Givenchy Amarige Mariage – cinnamon is there, although I do not find it as prominent as a lot of Fragrantica reviewers do. One of my comfort scents for colder weather – very sweet, with flowers soaked in sugary resins + patchouli and spices.
Surprising news about my UPS and battery. They work fine now! I have been testing them extensively for the last three days, and the battery is charging and discharging as it should be. I am even using a testing device to measure voltage, capacity and other figures, and everything looks normal. Apparently, even though the service center found nothing wrong, they still somehow fixed the UPS. Fingers crossed.
I have never tried this version of Amarige, but it sounds luscious.

I prefer it to Amarige, and I am not even sure if it should be considered a flanker. It’s been a while since I smelled Amarige, but judging by my memories these two scents are very different.

International coffee day? Say less. (as my daughters say) I love coffee, the smell of coffee, coffee flavored ice cream…yum. I’m celebrating with a vanilla bean latte from my favorite place. They make their vanilla syrup in house using real vanilla beans. They also make their own chai concentrate and although it probably can’t compare to ltsg’s fil’s chai, it is the best that I have found. I am somewhat matching my latte in Vanille Insensee.

I am so far from a cinnamon roll in Carven Eau Vive. I am madly in love with this fragrance. Citrus and herbs in the best possible way. I have already received four compliments at work. and it reminds me a bit of my beloved Paramela which is discontinued and impossible to find.

I found four cinnamon fragrances to wear this week. First up is Tea for Two, which on my skin is a cinnamon bomb. Still, it is one of my favorite cool weather scents. Not that the weather is cool, because it’s still in the 90s.
I wish it were a cinnamon bomb on me! I got 90% smoke. Not a favorite.

Good morning, all! Back from the wedding and recovered from all the excitement and travel. It was a huge amount of fun, and a lovely, short ceremony. 😁
The perfume I had planned to wear today has a cinnamon note; very fortuitous. It is Muscat from OJ. This one is hard to find online, but I found a place that sells samples.
So far, it’s much less sweet than I had expected it to be. I bought it for the date note, which I love in Ta’if, plus it also claims notes of halva, plus the cinnamon. Perhaps they will come out in the drydown. Right now, it’s all about saffron, olibanum, and oud.
Coffee of the day is the usual, Nespresso Corto. Love that they recycle their capsules.

I keep wondering about true recyclability. The capsules are small enough that they really could not get any smaller. I think the issue may be if they are smashed down to make them thinner, just like aluminum cans should not be compressed either. What do I know? 🤷🏻♀️

I remembered my rabbits! That doesn’t happen often. For the CP, it looks like a wealth of opportunities await me — nine choices in my arsenal, some of which I own but have sworn off wearing for one reason or another. This morning I’m in Épicé Marine. I’m sure fragrantica wouldn’t lie to me about it, but I honestly can’t tease out the cinnamon from the rest of the very light spices in there. No matter, I love it anyway. It’s kind of a sleeper — when first spritzed, it seems to disappear rapidly … but after a bit, there it is, developing nicely.
I don’t notice the cinnamon in most of my choices this week! Wish I still had some CdG cinnamon.

No cinnamon for me today – I’m wearing vintage Versace L’Homme. Well, an old bottle, anyway, with just three ingredients: Fragrance, Alcohol, Water. It’s a wonderful, mossy aromatic that reminds me of Chanel’s Pour Monsieur EdT, (before the sweetness in the EdT Concentree/EdP.)
If it’s old enough to have real moss it must be good!
I hailed my rabbits early this morning.
I actually don’t really drink coffee anymore, if I need a wake up beverage, I make some strong Assam tea.
I forgot about the cinnamon this morning and I’m actually on my second day of leather: yesterday’s scent of choice was Lonestar Memories and today I’m wearing Patchouli 24.
I always have strong tea in the morning too, but once in awhile I have an early afternoon coffee.
Well, I didn’t wake up until noon after being up until 4:30 a.m. because Mom had an emergency and I had to go meet her at the hospital. She took a bad fall and hit her head and had a baseball-sized purple lump so they sent her for a CT scan. I went and returned by Uber. Mom did not seem to be in great pain but was, naturally, confused and did not like the needles and other equipment. But she came out all right and was able to return to her place at around 3 a.m. by ambulance. Whew. When I woke up I knew it was the first of the month but was still groggy and I said “Robin robin robin” and then “Bird bird bird” and finally realized those weren’t right and said my Rabbits. That was kinda strange. I feel better now after my two mugs of coffee but anticipate a very slow day–definitely an old person’s day. Still commando but I’ll figure something out later and will report back in.

Gosh, thank you everyone for being so kind and concerned about my mother. She seems ok today, by report. I will go visit tomorrow, I’m just so tired and out of it today. Her poor head was really a hideous sight last night and I’m sure is worse today, with a big purple knob on the forehead.
Now that I am showered and more ready to face the world I am doing the CP by wearing SL Rousse. It’s a cinnamon candy perfume and so fills the bill nicely. We are still imagining autumn with a forecast high of 93 here today.

My mother and dad, aunt and uncle would have all been married 75 years today. They had a double wedding.
Post shower a few sprays of Hima Jomo Autumn in Lhoka which has a lovely touch of cinnamon and smells to my memory much more like the Himalyans than OJ Kashmir, which was a disapointment.

CP compliant in Casmir today. I thought it had cinnamon in it but wasn’t sure if I could trust my nose so I looked it up. It’s good to be right! It happens so rarely I cherish these infrequent moments. ☺️
On the move today but didn’t go far. Stopped at Ulta and delighted to find my favorite skin balm now has SPF 50!! For those people into skincare it’s the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 Balm. Pricey, but worth it! Boondocking at Chéz WalMart tonight after stocking up, then heading to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in the morning but probably won’t make it the entire way in one day.

Next time I wear Casmir I will look for the cinnamon. Never noticed it before.

IIRC, I get mostly vanilla and sandalwood with Casmir. Or at least I used to.
I like that balm, but mostly use it for things that don’t need SPF so I hope they’re still making the regular too. I guess I will find out when I replace it! The gel version is fantastic too if you’ve never tried it — it’s mostly glycerin.

… the body spray in the big a$$ plastic bottle. So good. I looked at cinnamon as a note and discovered that I have too many with cinnamon, not that I am complaining.
Day 4 of 5 civil mediation training days done as of yesterday. One more to go tomorrow! So there were actually more people who are not lawyers than I originally thought; however, I may just be the only one who had never had exposure to a mediation although all of us, other than the one newly-retired judge, will have one more step in order to qualify and be on a mediator roster. I’ll get there at some point. At the proverbial end of the day, many of the techniques, tips and tricks are very practical. I also like the fact that most class participants provide very useful feedback. I’ve learned a few things about myself that I will share later in the week.

I think that’s fascinating that you can train and become a mediator! How did you ever come up with that idea? I know someone at my university who does that professionally–she is a social work professor. I saw her do some of her thing when we were on a committee together–it was a somewhat horrible committee since it was all about trying to resolve faculty complaints against administrators. Wow she was a tough cookie. I’d like her to be on my side, and I suspect I would like you to be on my side someday too! I know you don’t actually take a side. I should say, I bet you’ll make a good mediator intervening and/or assisting in some tough cases.

I was talking to a friend who is part of a friends group. One day he took a look at me and said you can be a mediator! So I said I never considered it, thinking that one must be a lawyer to do so. In any case, I signed up to the spring session which was later rescheduled to fall.
I have not read through but apparently 90% of lawsuits end up being mediated and of these, only a small percentage end up going to court.
I will take a set of rabbits. I totally forgot!

Yesterday’s scent was Versace Eros. Beautiful, but it did not last for very long, dang it. I’ve been noticing that with a lot of my fragrances lately, to my chagrin.
Since I turned Officially An Old Person this year, I suppose I can celebrate a little me today.
Eros edt or edp? I really liked the edt when I sampled it.
EdP. It was a sample. I still have 2 left.
I tested Hermès Barénia for the first time today and I didn’t like it very much. The opening was too fruity-sweet (in a mainstream way) for my taste. Then the flower note (I guess butterfly lily) got very prominent, but in a cloying way… I didn’t smell intense patchouli on my skin and it didn’t strike me as chypre perfume, but it may be that my nose is not that sophisticated 🙂
Or maybe that perfume wasn’t really a chypre after all?

Actually, your nose may be pretty sophisticated. Luca Turin’s review in a recent post was headlined “Sadly a Dud” and said that it “never rises above middle meh”.
I had to give myself a stern talking-to in order to get my butt out of the chair and to the gym today. I have 2 vaccinations scheduled for tomorrow and I am guessing I will have a sore arm the remainder of the week. But it is done and after a shower I’ll get dressed in what I’m wearing to a Bonnie Raitt concert this evening. I think I will spray a little Organza Indecence on, for the cinnamon.

sotd = I’ve been wearing Infusion d’Iris edt on repeat since sometimes last week. It is a comforting scent for me when my brain is tired.
Maybe it somehow reminds me of the “spa scent” that some spas have wafting about their space. I dunno.
I had to laugh a bit at that new D&G Velvet Infusion . . . the picture made me think it was a newbgreen tea iteration of Infusion d’Iris. 😅
I thought that new D&G bottle was a Prada Infusion, too. And I was caffeinated!

There was a definite chill in the air here this morning. And the sky has changed to that particular hue of “Autumn Blue”. It maybe got up to 71 or 72 here this afternoon. I would love to swap some of the sunshine for a bit of rain.
SOTD = Fzotic Corpse Reviver, from The Sample Stash. It’s a spicy, savory chocolate with a big wallop of whiskey and something woody. No cinnamon, but a lot of other spices. Glad I didn’t test this when it was in the 90’s here.
I got a brief 5 minute rain shower today. It’s been mostly sunny here too.
No rain at all in my 10-day forecast. Supposed to be warmer and drier than average for the next 30 days.
It has been “Autumn Gray” here for ages and hope we see some sun SOON…I am getting the January blues already!

The other day I tested Replica Afternoon Delight. It’s milky vanilla and I didn’t like it. I was actually smart this time and only sprayed on paper.
Milk is a perfume note that I do NOT want to experience. Just sounds gross to me. 🤢
