Happy (Vanilla) Friday! It's also the Ides of March and World Consumer Rights Day, and there are 4 days of winter left to go. Our community project for today: wear your bestest vanilla for spring (or fall, if you're in the southern hemisphere.) (This is a repeat from 2018, when we did it in January.)
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I'm commando at the moment for an appointment, but before the day is out I'll be in Aedes de Venustas Cierge de Lune (from 5 perfumes ~ vanilla fragrances for spring).
Reminder: on 3/22, it's spring! Wear a spring floral, or any fragrance that says spring to you (if you're in the southern hemisphere, adjust accordingly.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2024, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

I am in Dame Perfumery Black Flower Mexican Vanilla for the CP.
Happy Friday! 🌞
So pretty! I wore that one recently then left my office to go pick up lunch and when I came back in the whole room smelled so amazing.
It is a beautiful scent! I got a compliment from one of my coworkers today, so I will bring her a sample next week!
You smell fabulous!
Thank you, Sistine!
I love this one, been wearing it a lot lately. You smell great!
Thank you, Laila!
Happy Friday to you! Enjoy your weekend.
Thank you, Jalapeno! Enjoy your weekend, too!
I saved the best for last: SL Un Bois Vanille, the most beautiful vanilla I know of — deep and lush, with swirls of licorice, honey, and almond on a sandalwood base.
You smell amazing!!
I wish I got more of those non-vanilla notes in Un Bois Vanille, but mine veers heavy vanillic on my skin. Not that I’m complaining, but I love those other notes too. Wearing Dior’s Mitzah this morning which is soooo lovely and has vanilla in the drydown. I should have bought a bottle when this first came out but I still have my decant. This afternoon as that wears off, I’ll bring out the UBV.
I almost wore that one today! You smell great. 👍🏻
In my last Nicolai of the week, Angelys Pear. I’m not sure if I like it or not. The initial spray was not to my taste, but after 45 minutes it seems to have “ripened” and smells better on my skin.
Today I am wearing Chanel N19 – spring in a bottle!
I layered both: pure parfum and Edt – couldn’t choose which one to wear first.
All modern versions, I trust Chanel for keeping their classics in very good shape, unlike some other brands who erased their masterpieces from this planet Earth
I didn’t want to buy Chanel n19 for a very long time, but every time I travel or come to a store where they have Chanel – I spray N19 on me and always get amazed by pure class and beauty of this green rose chypre. She is gorgeous. So I finally gave in and bought both versions today! Quite a splurge but I won’t regret it.
I didn’t know they had the pure parfum. Enjoy !!
Thank you! Yes, they have the full line available – parfum, EdP and EdT
You smell divine!
Thank you!
Never tried 19, now I am inspired.
It is not a crowd pleaser, it is a distinct chypre with very elegant greens, rose and powdery iris notes. You should try it for sure, it is an immortal classic.
No. 19 is gorgeous, and perfect for Spring weather.
Yes, I think so too!
Goutal’s Vanille Charnelle over here, and I think it’s beautiful. Not challenging, not avant garde-just really pretty 🙂
Pretty and vanilla go hand in hand. I am wearing Magnificent Gold, which is along those lines too.
Hello and tgif!
I saved my favourite vanilla for today – Shalimar Ode A La Vanille Madagascar. I might even say this is my favourite Shalimar. I am still angry at myself for not buying a bub of this gorgeous creation. Heck, I’d buy 2 or even 3!
Disgusting update – just now I saw a roa…ch in my bathroom 😱🤢🤢. It was not huge but big enough to give me cold sweats and squeal. I didn’t have any bug spray handy so I grabbed the nearest spray. It was between a bottle of Flowerbomb (which has now sadly been demoted to an air freshner) or a bottle of disinfectant alcohol. I went for the alcohol and gave the R five good shots in the face. It was either seriously drunk or had a quick case of alcohol poisoning and I suspect it’s the latter. It was immobilized enough for me to pinch it up in a thick wad of tissue and I flushed it away to meet its maker.
I need a calm-me-down cookie.
Oh No
Eew, yes, have a handful of cookies!
I’m glad you chose the alcohol – the scent of Flowerbomb deployed in a stressful situation could have been way too much to handle.
LOL!
Oh dear.
If you used Flowerbomb, you just might have knocked yourself out before the roach!
😉
Ewww! I’m so sorry about the bug. 🤮
Oh dear, I am glad you rose to the occasion!
I have to say it makes me smile, because if you live here in Houston, or a similar climate, you just WILL have the occasional roach inside, no matter how attentive your housekeeping is, and they will be GIGANTIC. They look at you and wiggle their antennae and have full personalities and they’re darned fast. My cats are intimidated by them. I simply will not squash one, yuck. My best strategy is to put a jar over them (use a big pickle jar not a small olive jar) and then slide a piece of cardboard under it and take them outside and dump them off the porch to let them meet their fitting end–I hope, being gulped down by a large heron looking for a snack!
Ha! Same here in South Texas. It kills me that the roaches are so big they make a thud when they drop. Luckily our current house seems to keep them out pretty well. My husband has been known to capture roaches in a jar and zap in the microwave. My favorite is to suck them up with a vacuum cleaner.
OMG, the microwave. I could never do that. (Shudder)
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Definitely you need a pick me up after *that*.
My choice for bestest vanilla had to be Memoirs of a Trespasser — Mr. G complimented it when I came into the room, and ye gods it goes well with my morning coffee. We’re having a spell of very springlike weather this weekend, and I’m set to do some gardening for the first time this year! Will be populating the shade garden with several hostas, some ferns and an astilbe or two, and I also have some iris rhizomes (or whatever those rooty looking things are called) that I need to find a sunnier spot for.
Great choice SheriG!
Those rooty iris things are indeed rhizomes!
I don’t have much vanilla in my collection, but Shalimar Eau Legere fits the bill for today. The birds are chirping, the sun is trying to come out.
It sure does! Hope the sun breaks through.
I’m going for slightly edgy vanilla today in Fat Electrician. I’m looking forward to a weekend with temps around 17C, and Ockeghem Teen is looking forward to spring break for the next two weeks.
But today! After sending a big project out for review, I’ve had some free time in the last few days, and so I am going to spend some time planning our summer vacation. (I worked last weekend to finish the project, so no one is going to complain.) Does anyone have experience with northern Spain & Portugal in August? We’re going to be living in Europe for a bit, it looks like, and need to get vacation in before school starts. But I don’t want to go to the Mediterranean with the rest of the world (plus, I had enough of 45C heat last summer), and I’m not sure how exciting Scandinavia / Scotland would be for the teen, so I was thinking temps on the Atlantic coast might be better?
Two week spring break?! Nice.
I have zero experience in Europe (or really anywhere lol) but I long to see Norway. I think summer would be the best time to be there. I imagine it’s so green and beautiful. But yeah, probably not appealing for a teenager.
Yes, Norway is high on the bucket list, but I’d like to do the postal steamer, and I don’t think we have time. Something to do when the kid’s out of the house, I think. (It was, in many ways, easier to travel with her when she was 6 and more curious about the wider world.)
I have no experience in that part of Europe, but enjoy your weekend planning your trip!
If you decide to go to Scotland, it would be great to go in August and attend the Military Tattoo and / or the Fringe outside the castle.
I’ve been to Spain and Portugal but both in December / January. Scandinavian countries I’ve been to in July / August via a cruise.
I think if you want the sea Scotland in summer is great and easy to get around. But my pick would be the Pyrenees if you are not fixed on the ocean. Based in Tarascon, lots of wilderness and nature but also lots of history, pre-historical cave drawings, etc. and cooler . If it’s the sea you want I would head to Brittany. Lots of beautiful coastline but also cities for exploration. The area around Brest is lovely, and I would rent in a village by the sea ( Plougonvilon…probably spelt wrong).
https://www.ariegepyrenees.com/en/to-prepare/explorer/villages/tarascon-sur-ariege/
https://www.brittanytourism.com/destinations/the-10-destinations/brest-terres-oceanes/brest/
Pyrenees would be great — definitely something I want to do, as we haven’t spent any time there. (We were supposed to drive up to Andorra from Barcelona on the last sabbatical, but the French air traffic controllers were striking and we got stranded on our connection in Paris.) I will look into Tarascon!
Brittany…also lovely! But maybe a bit too far north for this trip, as now Mr. Ockeghem has started getting ideas in his head about seeing a stage of the Vuelta… 🙂 But — thank you for the suggestion as I’d like to get back there sometime while we’re living over there.
Interesting! I get no vanilla at all with Fat Electrician. It’s very much vetiver on me.
Happy World Sleep Day. I unknowingly celebrated by getting plenty of sleep.
Still commando but will probably wear Virgile or Vanille Sublime for the CP later.
Yes, happy world sleep day!
I eventually went with Profumum Roma Dulcis in Fundo. Sugary vanilla and citruses. I personally find it too sweet and straightforward, but it fits the CP and I want to finish the decant.
HA! I’ll be hoping to celebrate tonight.
It’s Tihota for me today, and I’m taking a little day trip to the coast to a glassblower community. I will probably buy something and then have to store it because…cats.
I thought about that one for today. Considered the holy grail by many I guess.
This one is very nice.
Sounds like a very fun day, during which you will smell wonderful! 🙂
Love watching glassblowers at work.
Shalimar Light today…surprised they haven’t rereleased this flanker yet.
Happy Friday and beware the Ides of March! 🩸🗡
I’m surprised it didn’t become part of their permanent line up. Great campaign too with Keith Richards’ beautiful wife and daughters.
Like a few others, I’m wearing SL Une Bois Vanille. It’s not my all time favorite but it’s high up on the vanilla list. It’s very versatile and easy to wear. Another one of those chameleon perfumes that suits any occasion.
The sun is blasting down like demon and I’m here for it! Temps are supposed to get over 60*F today and I’m here for that, too! Not sure what we’ll be getting up to today, but it will definitely be outdoors!
Enjoy! 60 and sun- perfect!🌞
Chloe Vanilla Planifolia to end the week.
Your love for that one has it on my to try list, but so are many others …..you know how it goes.
I do indeed:)
I was wondering if it was a love for you. I was intrigued by it and need to wear it more attentively.
Apparently it is also World Sleep Day, which is something I can totally get on board with. Oh how I love to sleep. Always have, probably always will. In high school I used to set my alarm on the weekends just so I could have the satisfaction of turning it off and going back to sleep lol. Yeah, I’m weird. Nowadays my pattern has shifted and I like to go to bed early because I naturally wake up early.
Anyway, I’m in Art Meets Art’s Like a Virgin LE from Fabrice Pelegrín with notes of orange blossom, vanilla and milk. I see it’s sold out on their website so I’m glad I got a bottle when I did.
I had a massage this morning that I had forgotten I’d booked. That’s happened to me before so it’s always a fun surprise when I get the text reminder earlier in the week. It felt so good, I think I was close to falling asleep today.😴
I’m so glad to see someone else who set the alarm for the weekend! I don’t think that’s weird, how else can you experience the joy of the alarm going off and not having to get up? 🙂
100% I love hearing my alarm and then turning it off on Saturday mornings 😄
Shalimar Millésime Iris for me today! (A kind friend gave me a sample vial from her bottle.) It’s really dreamy.
Cierge de Lune is a good one, Robin!
Scent twins!
Yay! 🙂
My husband and I got out spring Covid shots today. I am hoping we don’t have much for side effects.
SOTD is Shalimar MI.
Good luck!
Thanks Sistine.
Hope any side effects pass you by😊
Thanks Allo.
Hope the shot doesn’t knock you out.
Was going to wear Spiritueuse Double Vanille as one of my favorite vanillas, but it’s really more cold weather wear for me, and today is a gorgeous springy day. If I had any IPdF Vaniglia del Madagascar, I’d wear that. But I don’t, so it’s Lancome Mille et Une Roses, which is roses and vanilla ice cream. Love it.
Off for a 4 mile walk.
You will smell fabulous on your walk💃
Thanks! So sunny and wonderful today.
Lancome ought to bring that back instead of releasing yet another LVEB flanker. Just my $0.02.
Agree!
Vanilla is a hard note for me because my skin amplifies the sweetness to an insane level, and I can only stand wearing it in the very coldest weather. I’m skipping this week’s CP and wearing California Reverie because it’s just so darn pretty!
I had an initial interview yesterday and have been moved on to the next stage, so keep your fingers crossed that I may be employed sometime before the summer!
Fingers crossed! Good luck
Fingers crossed! 🤞🏼
Good luck!
Fingers crossed for you, sistine!
more fingers crossed!!
Good luck! 🤞🤞🤞🤞
Good luck! 🍀
More crossed fingers!
Good luck! 🍀🍀🍀
🍀
🤞🍀🤞
Here’s hoping!
Great news! More fingers crossed here!
Good luck, sistine!!
I’m at my office today to watch a course online and searching through my drawer of decants, I found Shalimar Philtre from an NST split. It definitely delivers the vanilla for today’s cp.
Philtre is so good.
You smell great!
You smell wonderful!
I’m in Gallivant Tokyo today (perfume oil)
I’m in Andy Tauer Vanilla Flash. It’s been awhile since I’ve worn this one. Happy Friday y’all! 🎉
Those Flashes weren’t around for very long, were they?
SOTD = Guerlain Millesime Vanilla Planifolia
LOVE it! I’m surprised no one here has mentioned wearing it but I may need to be patient.

Not to start a conspiracy theory, but there have been many reports of “technology issue”: AT&T, McDonald’s, Medical insurance billing, etc. Some people / governments may have too much time on their hands and it seems easier and easier to be up to no good! Anyway, be safe out there because you just never know when you may get impacted by these activities. Note: none of these have impacted me (🤣 including McDonald’s) as far as I know!
I kind of wish now I would have bought that. I think I would have liked it.
I think you would have liked it. This seemed to have been the start of flanker-mania.
What kind of technology issues?
It’s whatever I read online, with a grain of salt:
AT&T – failed software upgrade 🤔
McDonald’s – online ordering to the point where stores closed 🤔
Medical billing – probably along the same lines as what Deva mentioned except it’s not payroll 🤔
The failed software upgrade/expansion is quite plausible. Heard a lot of stories about that with Mr. Jalapeno.
As for medical stuff, I know an entire payroll system for at least one (and maybe more) hospital corporation had their entire payroll/insurance/everything financial hijacked and now physicians, nurses, are without pay and many patients have had care delayed because they hospital system is unable to charge for anything. Who knows how long this will continue? I’m not sure if it’s a ransom issue or what, but this is happening more and more frequently. I hope people are not still naive enough to think every bit of their info is safe.
You are so right about safety of our personal info!
I think of these issues when my providers ask me to sign what I call the “non-disclosure of non-privacy agreement.”
Hi, twin – I thought we’d be at least quintuplets!
I’m wearing Spiritueuse Double Vanille, my first big vanilla love. I have vintage on the right arm and current on the left. This one has been reformulated more than once, the original was boozy and spicy and potent. The older version on my right arm still smells quite spicy and strong. No spice left in the current version, or booziness. I’m thinking about spraying a shot of the new Vanille Planifolia extrait on the left arm to see if that brings out any of the vintage vibes.
… you will end up smelling the Vanille Planifolia which I love but don’t yet have a bottle.
You smell great, it’s my favourite too!! Twins today.
You smell fab to be sure!
Good thing you have the vintage. Unless it’s almost gone? 😭
I have plenty of the older version, sadly no more of the very first release which was the best. But what I have is still good enough to enjoy.
A friend of a friend contacted me to say he is in town and would like to meet for coffee. I said yes ( reluctantly, as he’s quite domineering) and now I hear he has arranged for me to not only have coffee but go and meet one of his friends for lunch, as he thinks we ‘ should get on well’. And, by the way, do I have a car …etc. I am trying to put a good spin on things, and fix on my happy face. Maybe the friend of the friend of the friend will be fascinating? Good material? I also suspect that the first guy wants me to write about him and has a book project in mind ( he’s an artist) which is really why he is wanting coffee etc. so, I also need to put on my assertive face. In my head I am wearing fifty blasts of Giorgio Beverley Hills as repellent. In reality I will wear Cristalle, for a bit of aloof energy. So much for my Saturday. I am a bit annoyed.
That sounds rather unpleasant. I hope it works out ok for you!
I usually just say no, but you may find the conversation interesting enough to pique your interest. Good luck!
I would have said no but I think it means a lot to my actual friend to see this guy, as she likes him so much.
Is your actual friend along for this trek?
I probably have my back up unnecessarily for you, but the magic word isn’t please – – it’s NO. You have every right to decline if you wish. Plus, it’s rude to make plans with you and then expand them to fill you’re whole day!
Time to wear ELDO Secretions? 😡
Ditto every single word but especially “NO!” Although, I would try to be a good sport and say Thank You after the “no.”
I agree; deliver the reply with grace and a smile.
He’s in his late seventies and quite a forceful character.
Oh dear! As you say, maybe good material 🙂 .
Ugh! The best advice I’ve ever gotten for project proposals that I really don’t want to do is to come up with fee so high that you wouldn’t turn it down no matter how much you hate the project, even if it is shockingly above market rates. Then add 10%. That’s your fee. Most likely it will be too high for the other person and they will say no to you, rather than you having to say no to them. And if they do say yes, you just book yourself a massively lucrative project.
Argh. Hope your weekend isn’t a total washout due to this.
Oh, dear. Giorgio Beverly Hills is one of the few perfumes I strongly dislike and would be repellent for me.
How annoying indeed. I would wear multiple sprays of my loudest scent to express my displeasure. And possibly refuse any future meetup requests.
I’m wearing one of my favourite vanillas. It’s called A ce soir by Pont des Arts. I don’t even know whether it’s still in production.
I got this after I bought their sample set early in the pandemic. It was created by Bertrand Duchaufour and is a not so sweet floral vanilla. It made it in one of Graindemusc’s top tens at some point.
Glad it’s Friday, had a day full of IT problems so I didn’t get a lot done. Thankfully no mad dash to the Netherlands this weekend!
Hope you can relax. Almost daffodil season!
Plenty of Daffies already!
Commando right now. I will probably put on some Eau de Missions (Vanilla vanilla!) before I go to the grocery store. I spent a while unknitting a few rows of the lacy summer tee I am knitting to adjust the gauge and fix a couple twisted stitches. Now that I am back on track with stitches repaired and hopefully a guage that will produce a garment that fits, I want to go out into the sunshine. My allergy saga continues, and I am actually considering seeking getting a custom scent, something summery and floral, with smells I am not reacting to-linden, Iris, some tender wild rose, a little fresh herbal base of yarrow and wild Monarda leaves, no citrus, no musk-(I go to public spaces and some scent that people seem to be bathing in just makes me gag!), maybe some petrichor, like walking down a country road after a brief shower, when the linden trees are blooming, with overgrown meadows full of wildflowers on either side…if you were going to do a custom perfume who would you turn to-Mandy Aftelier, Dawn Spencer Hurwitz are the only names I am aware of -anyone else you lovely knowledgable people might recommend?
I think Diane St. Clair could be an option for bespoke.
I had not thought of her. I will query. Thanks!
Your custom scent sounds divine, meridifay. 😊
In my mind it is! The trick is always transposing from a tendril of an idea to some juice in a bottle!
That sounds beautiful! I have become slightly infatuated with Jorum Studio lately. They are in Scotland and do bespoke fragrances. If you have deep pockets!
https://jorumstudio.com/products/bespoke-fragrance
Their style sounds like it would be a nice match for you, though. Heck, throw in a trip to Scotland while you’re at it!
After getting back from visiting my mother, I’m now heading away for the weekend. My beloved’s nephew is having an engagement party, I’m really looking forward to seeing all of his family, but I want some time at home! I don’t travel often, but I’ve been away from home 5 weeks in row. At least we’re driving this time, so I don’t have to get to an airport at a specific time.
I think I’ll wear Bengale Rouge for the day, and my new purchase of Le Galion’s L’Astre for the party.
Sorry, hope you get lots of home time after this one!
It’s a 🌞 but chilly day here, a perfect day for a warm, comforting scent, and I’m happy to not only choose a fragrance featuring my favorite March note – patchouli – but one that also fits today’s cp, Molinard Vanille Patchouli. The earthy patchouli is softened a bit by a caramel-tinged vanilla that alleviates any harshness. Plus it’s one I purchased when I visited Molinard on my one-and-only trip to France, so it brings back many happy memories.❤️
Spring sure has come early this year: lots of green everywhere, daffodils and crocus and miniature Iris blooming as well as the adorable tiny blue Scilla that runs rampant everywhere here. The cheery yellow blossoms of our Cornelian Cherry Dogwood are in full display; forsythias are opening, and driving around town I noticed that the magnolia shrub blossoms were getting ready to pop open.
It’s been a busy fun week with several in-person yoga classes, a 50th anniversary showing of Blazing Saddles at our historic movie theater, an interesting library program on cloud storage and computer security and another on spring bird migration, and the annual credit union meeting luncheon where once a year I get to reunite with numerous co-workers from 20 years ago. The rest of the weekend is unscheduled for a change, so I’m looking forward to doing whatever I feel like!
Wishing everyone a lovely weekend ahead, and for those who celebrate, Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Tomorrow Chicago will dye its river green for the annual parade, and the weather looks great!🍀
Hope your good weather continues – Chez Mossy will be enjoying corned beef, ‘taters, and cabbage.
Chez Laila will be featuring Cabbage Patch Soup, Irish Soda Bread and, of course, Guinness 🍺!
Weather twins today. 🌞🥶
The City of Denver is going ahead with their St. Patrick’s Day parade tomorrow. 11 inches of snow is not enough to cancel that event. Considering how sunny it was today, I figure a significant portion of it melted. ☘️
Yes, I’ve been watching their weather on the news and am grateful Mr. Laila came home from his ski trip to Vail just in time! 😅
Blazing Sadfles, now there’s a blast from the past! I am old enough to remember the original release. Not a film that could be made now but it was quite funny at the time.
Yes, most definitely it wouldn’t be made now as it would offend most contemporary viewers but when you realize its true intent – to show the absurdity of prejudices – it couldn’t be more timely!
I am wearing By Kilian Cruel Intentions. I had a vague memory of one of the Kilians being very vanillic. This one has vanilla but not as a very dominating aspect. I believe I have two others and so it must be one of those but this was the first I found. Now I must venture upstairs and sift through things there to assess the other two. I bought them all when BK first opened, which I have read was 2007, at Saks and then as the brand’s offerings proliferated I just gave up on even trying them, as none stood out, they were absurdly costly, and there was so much la-di-da involved in even sampling them that I abandoned the attempt. Seriously, folks. You are a perfume sales representative, you are not the Queen of England.
Oh I know what you mean about the la-di-da! I have to be in the right mood to face a “Counter.” Hence my blind-buy penchant.
The last perfume I purchased at a counter was a cute 10mL bottle of Aromatics Elixir from a very nice SA at Lord & Taylor.
I still miss that store.
A lovely day, sunny and mild. I picked all Shalimar, this morning Eau de Shalimar édition Charmes which matched the weather well and tonight my favorite iteration, Shalimar parfum de toilette. Enjoy your Friday evening folks.
Double points for a double Shalimar day!
I had thought of wearing Vanilla Flash today, but as it’s been relegated to the swap corner, I was looking over my bottles and came upon Royal Earth, my new favorite iris from Harminist. I thought, oh, that must have vanilla in it, and yes. 🔔🔔🔔
~So I’m CP compliant. Wishing an enjoyable weekend to you all!
Oh Royal Earth is divine! You smell great!
Those Harmonist bottles are totally gorgeous. Glad to hear that the contents match!
🙂 And it just happened to fit right in with my little collection of “feminine“ frags in black bottles.
I decided to double up layers today, so I’m wearing I Profumi di Firenze Vanilla lotion, and Rosine’s Vanilla Paradox on top. I love the herbal-vanilla mix in this and it feels appropriate for a beautiful early spring day here. I took the day off and lazed around today, just enjoying the weather.
Tea today was Harney’s London Fog. Delicious.
Extra points for the tea!
Boy, Rosine has been quiet lately, and they were really releasing a lot of fragrances for a few years there.
I am late to comment. I am wearing Spiritueuse Double Vanille, my absolute best vanilla.
The weather is changing and feels like spring which is weird for this time.
Hello twin! It serms to be an early spring.
It was hard to choose this morning but I ended up wearing Magazine Street by Strange Invisible Perfumes. I have a lot of SIP, but I’ve definitely neglected them as my collection has grown larger over the years. This is from an older bottle, probably 2011-2012, and it smells wonderful. It’s a unique concoction of magnolia, vetiver, lavender, botanical musk, and vanilla.
I’m also excited to wear spring florals next week. I’ll definitely include Mugler Supra Floral in my lineup. I’d pulled it for today but then realized it has amber not vanilla mixed with hyacinth and green notes. I know vanilla is a component of amber, but I wanted to go more straightforward vanilla notes this week.
Supra Floral is a beauty! Too bad it’s discontinued. 😞
For the win, Shalimar MVP. Now that I have tired MVP, MT, and MI, I declare MVP the winner. Too bad I was on a no-buy when it came out, *but* I think all three are wonderful additions to one’s Shalimar family. I give MVP the blue ribbon because I think that it showcases vanilla better than MT and MI showcase tonka and iris. Happy Friday, all, and you all smell great.
As do you of course!
I had been planning on Vanille 44 for today, but in a complete 180 and CP fail, I went with Climat, since it came up in the chat the other day and I kept thinking about it. As one does. Proved to be a solid choice (and made possible by a very kind NSTer) for this far less than great day that required some restraint on my part.
Sorry for the less than great day spiderplant, hope tomorrow is better.
Thank you, Robin!
A bright and sunny, but rather chilly day here. Yesterday’s snow is gone for me. One of my cousins had 13.5 inches of snow, and another one had around 27 inches. They are both telling me I got lucky with this storm. I think that they did, ha!
SOTD = Casmir by Chopard. My little 1 oz bottle still smells great and survived the move, no problem. I had the sprayer wrapped in Parafilm and the bottle in 2 layers of bubble wrap. No emotional baggage with it, either. Thank goodness.
27 inches!
You smell lovely in Casmir.
Late start to the fragrant part of my day… To celebrate vanilla, I chose “Musc Ravageur” from Frederic Malle. Not as vanilla-ish as some of my other options, but the note is definitely there. Crazy about this stuff.
Happy Vanilla Friday, all!
I am wearing Silky Woods by G&B. I tried this initially during my vanilla quest of 2022-2023. At first I wasn’t sure about the suede note I get with it but now that vanilla/suede is exactly what makes it for me. Maybe would be a little heavy on very hot days with minimal air conditioning but I manage to wear and love this all year, one of my newest favorites.
Still sick. I took a covid test when I realized I couldn’t smell any perfumes (negative) I can smell them now though. My sotd is Angel, LPRN, Oud Bouquet and ysl Libre. Because I sprayed them all. Lol.
Glad to hear that you tested negative for COVID!
Oh my, you are really fragrant! 😂
Sorry to hear you’re not well. Quite a cocktail of perfumes!
