Infiniment Coty Paris ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 29 February 2024 21 Comments

Coty has launched Infiniment Coty Paris, a new collection of 14 premium fragrances: Après L'Amour, Aristo Chypre, Atomes Crochus, Encore Une Fois, Entre Genres, J'ai Trois Amours, L'Amour Pourpre, Les Mots Doux, Matin de Jade, Noir Encens, Or de Moi, Santal a la Vida, Soleil d'Ikosim and Un Parc de Roses en Alabama. The scents feature "molecular aura" technology, which reportedly releases the top, heart and base notes all at once and "extend[s] the signature scent of each perfume up to 30 hours".

Après L'Amour ~ "Aphrodisiac ambery. // Ambery haze of pleasure. After the loving comes more love. Again and again, over the moon. A yearning, burning pleasure. A cascade of emotions that consume and leave you breathless. Sensations encapsulated in rockrose, ginger and a virgin tobacco accord, the urge to engrave my odor on your skin. A brume of ambery allure envelops you, spicy, indulgent, heady. // A carnal attraction of matter and emotions, in an intoxicating deliciousness of a virgin tobacco accord. The texture and warmth of the skin, heightened with the fizzing of ginger."

Aristo Chypre ~ "Rich chypre. // Long live Le Chypre. Barely the time to slip away and they’re already the talk of the town. Presence, poise, perfume… Impossible to ignore. One senses the subtle notes of patchouli, noble and profound, touched to the point of sweet surrender to a most liquorish rose. A sillage beckons to be captured or followed. // An iconic chypre signature, an elegance underlined by suave essence of Patchouli and green facets of Rose."

Atomes Crochus ~ "'Verdant-gourmand floral. // Honeysuckle, deceivingly innocent. To meet again. At last. Alone together, no one else, just the two of us. And this perfume that seems to purr “I am kindred-spirit”. A moment suspended in time, honeysuckle decked in impish innocence, a soupçon of smoked green tea. Moments of molecular mingling mean: we are but one. // A wild garden where fresh notes of true to life honeysuckle accord are sublimated by subtle green tea inflections Reinforced by an intriguing smoky leather note that leaves a single memory: the rare elegance of an ideal nature."

Encore Une Fois ~ "Addictive ambery. // Addictive vanilla elixir. Encore and encore… A thousand times encore! An overdose of never stop ‘til you get enough. An addiction to skin, its essence, the desire to devour this ambery vanilla. An elixir-in-the-rough swoons with carnal proclivities. A concentrate of voluptuousness overwhelms me. Eternal beginnings, here we go again. // The encounter of the sweetness of Vanilla Planifolia and the warm addiction of Vanilla Bourbon, amplified by the amber of Peru Balsam."

Entre Genres ~ "Musk overdose. // Cloud of musks. Essence of cloud captured in a bottle. Airy meets musk in a triptych of unbearable lightness. Fluffy effulgence in a caress of silk, its musky fullness flirting with addiction, with alchemies on the edge of the impalpable and innate… // The encounter of three musks along the way the sensuality, resulting in a textured bubble of comfort." Additional notes include tangerine.

J'ai Trois Amours ~ "Fruity floral. // Delicious sparkles of laughter. A dance of elation whisked away by love at first sight. Head-over-heels, and the unquenchable desire to embrace the world in laughter unleashed. Notes of banana blossom, delectably chypre. Passion poised on the precipice of joy. // A surprising creation starring a banana flower accord. Fractions of banana and jasmines find their wholesomeness in a common rhythm…"

L'Amour Pourpre ~ "Refined ambery. // Nightfall under the spell of lavender. At dusk, brush your hand against lavender sprigs as you wander. You feel the heartbeat of the earth itself encouraging seduction with its scent. Lavender’s delicacy meets ambery majesty, each note carrying the boiling desire to seduce and attract. A scent that whispers love at nightfall. // A royal lavender in the ambery embrace of vanilla, woods and resins, as if caressed by the golden hour of Provence, fills the air with an elegant aromatic warmth."

Les Mots Doux ~ "Delicate floral. // A constellation of white petals. If tenderness you crave, here it dwells. All the world’s affection made perfume. A glance becomes gesture, instant, image. Soft words sprinkled in a whisper of floral whiteness. Dainty, delicate. A bouquet’s embrace in a whirlwind of petaled perfection. Close at last. A powerfully tender declaration of love. // A bouquet of white flowers yet very much alike, A floral bloom which defies the law of gravity. The petals float and graze each other tenderly." Additional notes include rose and jasmine.

Matin de Jade ~ "Lasting cologne. // Morning blooming ginger flower. To gaze on Asia where day breaks. To imagine dawn’s fresh breeze carrying you skyward in a chrysalis of ginger and bergamot, of flowers diaphanous and white. A new day unfolds. All is possible in this exalted vibe in casual freshness. Seize the day. It is there for the taking. // An elegant cologne like a refreshing cool breeze where frozen notes of tea accord and ginger are sharped like stones by bergamot and a white flowers. [sic]"

Noir Encens ~ "Avant-garde woody. // Incense rising reborn. A blank page to expunge the past. To reinvent, revel in rebirth, exalt the summum of self. Like the phoenix, in the image of incense burning, rising unstoppable from the ashes. Its energy harnessed in a perfume made bold and intense by black pepper and incense. // Volutes of incense intertwine with fiery sparks of black pepper, the fusing ray of light elevating through the mystical penumbra."

Or de Moi ~ "Sensual floral. // Tuberose Flower Power. Potent, unapologetic radiance. More than a flower. Surpassing mere fragrance. Here is the epitome of exceptional, charisma shining forth in a flawless accord of floral-chypre, balmy and full-bodied. In rich and in gold we glow. Feel the beat from the tuberose. // An allegory of timelessness with tuberose and moss in evolving forms that echo through time."

Santal a la Vida ~ "Creamy woody. // Creamy Dreamy Sandalwood. That’s the magic of sandalwood, perfume’s new vanguard of vibe, popping with the heavenly spice of trendy and nice. Hypebeast of perfume invisibly caressing skin and senses. Warm, vibrant goodness becoming one with soul. A whisper fusing with your inner a la vida. // Essence of sandalwood collides with the smoothness of jasmine, creating a quick sand of woods."

Soleil d'Ikosim ~ "Gourmand floral. // Sun drenched in orange blossom. Hold fast and dear Algiers the Joyous, the Glistening, the Dazzling. Mediterranean lights, the scents of childhood, a garden, orange blossoms. Watch as they come alive splashed in sunshine and dripping golden bliss. Roots to reach the stars. // The grounding depth of vetiver vibrates through, reaching the solar energy of orange blossom, for a radiant bliss." Additional notes include neroli.

Un Parc de Roses en Alabama ~ "Leathery floral. // Proud Leather Rose. One rose rising. Rejecting surrender. A tour de fierce in action. Unforgettable. Others follow of the same rosy ilk, sprinkled with myrrh and leather. Perfume as an ode to all who name the sky their own. // A rose under the spell of myrrh. Dark and velvety rose petals are transformed with the golden tears of myrrh. In contact with this special kind of dew, the rose is no longer…"

30 hours of Molecular Aura sounds (and probably smells) like a nightmare.

I am waiting for the technology that guarantees 4.5 hours at full strength then *poof* it’s gone…

I would sign up for that SO FAST. Give me an excuse to change scents repeatedly, the way rich people used to change clothing every few hours.

If all notes are of the same impact and can be smelled at once, they simply are not top/heart/base notes. What a nonsense.

I was going to say that this makes me irrationally angry, but I think it makes me rationally angry. The company *knows* that they’re not all good scents: they can’t possibly be. If one of them were truly great, it would be launched on its own as a pillar scent. And how can you find any good ones in such a forest? You can’t try all fourteen, think about them, wear them repeatedly to form an intelligent opinion — there’s just not enough time in the world, especially not without all the other scents coming down the pike at an ever-increasing speed.

These are wildly overpriced for what they are, but I know who the target market for these things is: people with far too much money, people who will buy the entire collection, wear a few of them a few times, and then forget about them when the next new thing comes along. These were created to be discontinued in a year or two. It’s an insult to the art of perfumery, and it is infuriating.

And for the love of god will ad-copy writers please stop saying “addictive” or its relatives? Four times in one little scrap of overblown text is TOO MANY TIMES.

I couldn’t even make it through the text. Like hajusuuri, when I saw “14,” I quit. 🫠

Yes! This is for “influencers” to shill some new whatever. I’m not interested in “whatever” of the moment. Goodbye.

The bottle looks very similar to something that’s already on the market.

I just cannot imagine how many they’d have to sell of even just one to make up their costs on development of FOURTEEN perfumes, bottling in 3 different sizes, and marketing them.

Of course, if these popped up in my city, I’d sniff them. Due diligence. 😉

    TL; DR

I guess the perfume equivalent is Too Many, Didn’t Sniff?

I keep thinking I’ve seen the ultimate in ad copy, but they keep coming up with more.
