Shiseido Ginza Night ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 14 February 2024 12 Comments

Shiseido has launched Ginza Night, a new fragrance for women. Ginza Night is a flanker to 2021's Ginza.

Ginza Night was developed by perfumer Karine Dubreuil and inspired by the 'vibrant energy' of Tokyo nightlife. The woody gourmand features black currant, mandarin, gardenia, lily, jasmine, cedar and vanilla.

Shiseido Ginza Night is available in 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum Intense.

      Perhaps the jasmine is night-blooming?

😁 I guess they wear lightweight florals at night in the Ginza.

Probably, but it’s not like you can tell from the notes how strong it is, right? Gardenia, lily and jasmine *could* be quite strong.

But in this case would guess not.

I’ll give you that. I guess I can be pretty hasty in my judgments.

    Pretty bottle!

From what I understand, light scents are de rigueur in Japan. Wearing a loud perfume is considered rather rude. So AnnE had it right in her comment.

No doubt, just meant that the notes are not necessarily light notes.

And for that matter, I think few “western” designer perfumes have much oomph, other than sugar oomph.
