After my errands I am studying for the library. We have new items in our permanent exhibit (that is not static) and I am reading up today on the sande tribe and Cherokee Indian syllabary. Of note, the famous NYPL Lions are now decorated in their chic holiday wreathes. 🙂

It’s from a small mini bottle so I am not sure. It is very tiny in size and used to dab only.

No – and I only have minis too. A dab or two is quite noticeable. One day, I may just pick up a current spray though the minis are probably a lifetime supply for me.

Wrappings is such an usual scent, zippy herbs (lavender), spices (nutmeg), aldehydes, oceanic notes, leather, patchouli. It’s difficult to describe and quite compelling, there truly isn’t anything like it. I will miss it when it’s gone.

I’m in L’eau de Hiver. I wore this years ago, drained my bottle and moved on to other scents. Last Dec Sali Hughes did a week of scents and I was so intrigued by her love for it I found a good buy online, and have been enjoying it all over again. Funny thing is I wore this during a slightly tumultuous time in my life and thought I’d never like to remind myself of that time again. Now I see things differently, and the scent was instrumental in that change in thought pattern. Scent is amazing.
It’s nice when a perfume is the light that reminds you of your strength during a bad time, rather than having negative associations.

I thought I was putting on Twilly Eau Poivrée, but it was Twilly Eau Ginger instead. Not a problem, since I love ginger, especially this time of year. I’ve set a goal for myself to go through all of my decants at least once before buying any more. This will probably take me a few months.

Cold enough last night to snow, cold enough today for it to stick around, and cold enough tomorrow for more snow. I guess winter really is setting in (although the balmy spell forecast for the weekend, up to 8°C, doesn’t surprise me: it won’t last). I’m all warm and cozy in Bulgari Black, with its mesmerizing combo of rubber tires and vanilla.

Sadly my iPhone was killed by the 17.1 iOS update. So they are sending me a replacement refurbished 12MaxPro, should receive it tomorrow. I’m hoping it’s in decent condition, not banged up or with a degraded battery. They of course wanted me to spend $800 to upgrade to a 15MaxPro… no thank you.

How did that update kill your former iPhone? I do not want that to happen to mine, which is a 12 Mini. Gosh.
As soon as I loaded the software update, it came up with an error message saying there was a problem with cellular data. The phone could no longer detect the SIM. They tried to fix it but the software had permanently damaged it so it couldn’t be repaired (it sounds strange but my husband is a cellphone engineer and told me this is actually possible). When we called support they said that I was not the first person to report the issue. So if I were you, I would wait for the next patch to update. This one is buggy.

I upgraded to the 15 Pro,and honestly I am not impressed.Battery life is non-existent and sadly I miss my old phone(Huawei Mate 20 I used for 6 years!!)It’s a pain for me to type on this thing also,hence my absence from NST!!

I’ve fallen into a Chanel week. I’ve spent the last couple of days “unshopping” (taking items to the thrift store) and haven’t gotten to comments or recording SotD. Monday was 1957 and yesterday was Cuir de Russe edp. Today, No. 5 edp. I saw it first but I was looking for CM eau de parfum intense. Sending positive thoughts to Jalepeno and others who are moving and decluttering. I will *never* be a minimalist, but instead focus on “do I have something sitting around that someone else would be really happy to find and use?” I had to laugh, as I took a pair of lamps and a pair of candlesticks that I had found thrifting ago. After some re-configurations, they were ready to find a new home. Now, I’m off to catch up on comments and what my perfumed pals are wearing today, then more tidying.
A Chanel week sounds good to me. I am not doing it all week, but I am today and maybe tomorrow.
I am a minimalist and I always will be. I am terrible with clutter. It drives me up a wall. A bit obsessive compulsive would be a good description of me and my husband. Maybe that is why we get along😀

Guerlain AA Winter Delice. While it is still November, the winter weather is very much here.
How lucky you are to have Winter Delice! My bottle started to turn a few years ago and it’s not really wearable any more, alas (though on occasion I’ll give it a spritz and kind of interpret it). Probably the best of the AAs, in my opinion, and what a shame that it was discontinued. But you smell great.
Indeed, I am very fortunate that the decant survived a summer without air conditioning, especially considering the scent’s age.

I agree with Pyramus-I had a bottle about 15 years ago, and it was very beautiful. Winter here in Canada, too-hope life is ok for you, and you’re at least able to get some uninterrupted sleep.
I do not like cold and darkness brought by winter, but it is a perfect time to wear scents like this one. It makes winter much cosier.

Hope you are not experiencing cuts in gas-heating or maybe have additional heating not dependent on it for all your heating.
I do not think they can cut our gas heating, because our building has individual heating (not central). However, it also needs electricity to function, so any power outages will affect us.

Yet another cold morning requiring a down vest and shearling Birkenstocks. Zara Vapeur Blanche today, for a morning spent on a team from work volunteering downtown. My morning got off to an early start when I checked in on work at 7 a.m. and everyone in the East realized I was on. The rest of the house is taking its time, as Ockeghem Teen is supposed to stay home and rest today to recover. She’s taking that seriously and is still in bed at 9:30 a.m.! 🙂

Yes, she thinks she has a mild concussion. She also bruised her back in the fall and it hurt a lot when she examined Ockeghem Teen, so she sent us for an x-ray just in case. She’ll be fine, just being cautious. 🙂

Good morning all! I’m wearing Tea for Two, a lovely spicy perfume.
It is a lovely perfume.
Yesterday ended up scentless, as I had a mid-day appointment and then got busy. Today I am wearing Ensar Oud Santal Sultan, a gift from a perfume friend. It’s an interesting take on sandalwood, with some fruity and floral notes in it, and a thin thread of oud in the base.
Have not had a very restful night and had green tea rather late so hoping I will nonetheless have an earlier night tonight.
Today it was Paris Roses Enchantées, a flanker of Paris. Tonight it’s Berdoues Vanira Moorea, a citrus vanilla.

I’m wearing LL Myrrhe 55 again, wishing I had a bottle or larger sample. I enjoy it.
Our weather is cold, for us, but not bad for most folks and certainly no snow in the forecast.
Unfortunately I fear I have a flat tire. My car is still drivable and so I’m taking it over to the nearby shop and can walk home from there, but I’m dreading the price of new ones (silly how you must always get two!). Ugh. I’ve been having bad allergies–tis the season–and so I plan to stop in the CVS store on my way back home to buy something that will help with that. Might look for a fun cheapie makeup item while I’m there. After I’m back home I must get back to work on my talk and PowerPoint.
Then I’m going to make some sort of simple stir-fry with chicken later this evening.
PS Great news for all fans of Hilary Mantel’s trilogy about Cromwell. The BBC has announced they will be filming the third novel from the group with all the same cast members who starred in the previous show, including the fabulous Mark Rylance as Cromwell! I loved him so much in that role. Isn’t this wonderful!!

If the tire is in good shape and you have a flat because of a nail or screw, they can patch/plug it and no need for new tires. Ask me how I know…🙄
As long as the nail/screw is in the tread, it can be patched. If it is in the sidewall, the tire has to be replaced. I have also had a tire go flat because the valve went bad and was leaking out air. A valve replacement is fairly simple and cheap, much cheaper than a new tire.

It did have a nail or screw in it but the shop guy (I know him fairly well by now) showed me that there was a tear near the inner room such that it was pulling away from it leaving a big gap. No patching was possible, but he will just get me one tire and put it on tomorrow morning, so it’s not as bad as I feared.
Better safe than sorry in that case. You don’t want to take chances with tires if there is a likelihood of it turning into a blowout.

I would return it. I returned the Lush x Barbie Body Spray because it was just … yucky. I used PayPal so the return was a little complicated because the store employees did not know what to do…I should have insisted THEY call to figure it out but I was “nice” because it was already late Saturday and no one would be around to answer questions.
That was awful, too. I wish I returned that equally atrocious Princess Peach. Its embarrassing to even buy something with that name and label.

A mail from the township came today. I ripped it open but instead of the poll worker check, it was a Form W-9 to be completed before they will release the check! It would have been easier if we were asked to complete this right after Election Day instead of waiting for us to fill it out 22 calendar days later. Ugh! Again, not “worried” about the $s, just annoyed that something so simple (at least to me) is taking so long.
Ugh, what a pain! It sounds like your township is trying to make getting paid as annoying/irritating as possible.
That’s the government for your. They will hound you to your grave if you owe them ten cents, but if they owe you money…Well, much different rules.

Or if they mistakenly THINK you owe them money. I had an awful experience with city hall in the town I lived in previously. Our water meter broke so that it was not recording the water usage. I told the city about it, thinking I was being honest and alerting them to an issue they had not noticed on their own. They replaced the meter and charged me for estimated usage. Thing was, they were double charging us for what we had already paid (there was a minimum charge for 2000 gallons per month whether you used it or not). I took time off from work to go in and try to work it out in person. After an hour of discussion with three different people trying to crunch the numbers–and coming up with three different amounts–they finally gave me a number and I paid it. A few days later, I came home to the water in our house shut off–on a Friday afternoon, of course. I had to call the emergency number and pay $75 to have it reconnected. Monday, I got a hold of city hall; their story was that the water was shut off for nonpayment. Apparently, after I was in there, they recalculated my bill and decided that I owed another ~$5.00. Instead of sending me a bill for it, or adding it to the next month’s bill, they decided the best course of action was just to shut off my water, on a Friday afternoon, over an unpaid $5 charge THAT HAD NEVER BEEN BILLED TO ME AND WHICH I HAD NO IDEA I OWED. I had to take off time from work again to go in in person and argue about it. Ultimately, I did get them to agree to refund the $75 reconnection fee, since the water never should have been shut off in the first place, so I got a $75 credit on my next bill.
Pure craziness!

I went with Carduus by Jorum Studio today since my little decant is almost empty and has turned oily and gotten concentrated. It’s a really interesting herbal and spicy perfume. Kinda reminds me of the spices in Fzotic Corpse Reviver.

Another unseasonably cold day here, but the wind that knifed thru my heavy winter coat yesterday is gone. Yay!
Doing some un-fun things myself today. Had to return a new shirt because it had a hole in it. Then I spent a good chunk of the afternoon waiting for someone to come and clean out the dryer vent. But stuff did get done.
SOTD = commando again today. I thunked my travel size of Dame Perfumery’s Gardenia body butter over the weekend. Today I used a bit of Sol de Janeiro’s Bum Bum cream in the usual spots. I’m still smelling it on my hands after applying this morning!
That Bum Bum cream lasts forever! Sorry about your un-fun day, but glad you got some things done that needed to be done.

Not personally. But yeah, my HOA has required it every 2 years since 2009-ish.
Fortunately my condo association sends someone out to do it for us. They clean the parts inside my unit and then use massive suction equipment on the roof to get the rest.
