Happy Gratitude Friday! Our community project for today: wear a perfume that you feel grateful for coming into your life, that arrived at the right time, helped you face a difficult situation, or simply enriches your day when you wear it. Gratitude to Kanuka for the suggestion!
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
It is true that if I had to escape and could only grab one perfume, it'd be Diorissimo, but if it was only one brand, it would surely be Hermès. Props to Hermès for (a) hiring perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, whose work I was already following avidly when he was made house perfumer back in 2004, and (b) putting out all his work in (cute!) 15 ml bottles at a not-insane price. This morning I am grateful for Eau de Néroli Doré, which makes me smile every time I wear it, and is just right for the high of 65 we're expecting here today.
Reminder: on 11/24, pick your Black Friday poison: wear the last fragrance you bought, wear a cheap thrill, or wear a fragrance you love but refuse to buy in a full size because it's too expensive. (We've done this project several times.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2023, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Neroli Dore is beautiful, robin, and I love the cheerful, colourful Hermes bottles.
I’m in Le Lion, which is so beautiful, and I can’t believe I was able to buy a bottle. It’s giving me strength and a certain amount of steadiness in a chaotic and at time unpleasant week.
I’m grateful to the NST community. People are so nice and that’s not something to take for granted. There are different things in my collection that I’ve swapped for or discovered through this community. Also when people get to go to the special events and they tell us about it in detail-I appreciate that because those types of events don’t happen here. It’s like you take us all with you when you describe it.
Hope everyone’s day is thoroughly decent 🙂
So sorry about your no-good week Carole! Hope it will be better next week.
Seconding the gratitude for the community. Everyone is so generous with their knowledge and experience(s)!
Hello and tgif!
Sotd is Youth Dew. I am very grateful that this classic gem is still in production and at a very affordable price. It is also a scent worn by my mum and grandma so I feel a special connection to it.
Okay, on the opposite side of affordable and imo ridiculous on all aspects, this “creation” from Balenciaga… https://www.balenciaga.com/en-us/balenciaga-towel-skirt-beige-768726TPP919501.html
I would laugh but my jaw’s on the floor.
I generally love ridiculous, unwearable fashion like those deranged Viktor & Rolf dresses from earlier this year, because they make you think about what clothing actually is, but that … is a terrycloth bath towel with a bit of internal structure added. For a thousand bux. Pure nonsense.
A terrycloth bath towel that you have to dry clean. WTH?
I tried Googling “Victor & Rolf dresses” to see if I could find the ones you refer to, and this is what came up. I don’t think it is what you meant. I freaking love this dress. If only I needed a wedding gown (and had $$$$–or is it $$$$$) to spare:
https://www.viktor-rolf.com/product/watteau-feathered-flower-gown
I did see some other, truly ridiculous things, on their website, so I get what you mean.
Maybe it will become fashionable to wear towels as skirts? 😂
How did they come up with this, I wonder…
Can’t wait for the shower curtain version!
ROTFL! 🤣
This made my day, thank you. 😂
It’s beige. And ridiculous! smh
I’m grateful for a lot of things in my life. Right now I’m especially grateful that my sense of smell is returning, slowly but surely, and to celebrate that, I bought a bottle of Lush Let The Good Times Roll body spray (in stock for the first time since they opened in August, and only one bottle to be had), which I’m wearing today. Not as much popcorn as I’d like — maybe that arrives later as my olfaction improves?— but lots and lots of creamy buttery vanilla caramel with a little salt. It’s just charming.
Thankful for so many things! Shall I list them all? No? Well, ok then, I’ll stick to perfume!
Thankful for my beloved bottle of Onda VdE and the genius that was Vero Kern. If I were to be a nose, I’d like to be just like her. Fun, quirky, nice, talented, and thoroughly unlike anyone else.
After she had passed away and her perfumes were gone baby gone, I was kicking myself so hard for not springing for a full bottle of this divine juice. And then a little bird from NST told me some of her perfumes were brought back and only available through Campomarzio. You can bet I hopped on that! Bought a bottle of Naja and Onda VdE. So, thanks to Vero Kern and all the nice folks who enabled me here on NST!
Oops, sorry Pyramus! Wrong spot. 🫢
Glad you got your bottles before it was too late 🙂
Pyramus, here’s hoping it’s 100% very soon! Congrats on your new bottle.
Glad to hear that your sense of smell is coming back, and that you aren’t smelling yucky things while it does.
The gifted scent of the day is Bayadere, which must be a long-lost relative of Opium.
One of many long lost relatives, I’d think! Hope it is a good day Glannys.
It is a cult perfume, so imitations are expected. This one is well-made. Too bad it is another discontinued scent, and I believe the whole house (Les Voiles Depliees) no longer exists. Shame. They had a great vanilla scent.
So far, so good. We had an unusually warm autumn until this week. Finally turned on the heating yesterday – I do not think we ever did it so late!
So many of these little companies come and go! I had not even heard of Les Voiles Depliees.
Pleased to hear that you had lovely, warm weather until very recently.
What am I thankful for? Well in this instance I am thankful for NST, Robin, and all the wonderful NST community who have added pleasure to my life for lo, these many years. This week I am especially thankful for 50_Roses, who is so generous with her freebies. So, my SOTD is vintage Cabochard edt, which 50_Roses shared with me so kindly.
Lovely!
Happy Friday!
Grateful to NST for helping me explore new perfumes, make new friends and just be myself!
SOTD!
Guerlain Chamade.Grateful to Guerlain for making this gorgeous perfume, and also to Merlynn(where are you girl?) who either swapped with me or sold it to me!
xo’s
We should all be thankful for Chamade. The extrait is on my covet list….
Chamade is freaking gorgeous!
Happy Friday NST!
There are a lot of good things in my life that I’m grateful for and one is this incredibly kind space that Robin has put together and kept together for so many years. You guys are wonderful.🌹
I’m wearing Patchouli Antique for the falling temperatures today. I still have my original bottle that I acquired in the aughts and I’m grateful for it. Every year it seems to get darker and richer, almost syrupy and resinous, it’s just gorgeous.
I love fragrances that improve with the years! So many of them don’t.
I am wearing Shalimar this morning and I am grateful that Guerlain has kept their stable of classics in such good shape, and I am grateful to Shalimar itself, which got me started on perfume.
Shalimar is downright magical 💕
Wearing Zara Leather Jardin in the spirit of being thankful for cheap thrills. I’m also grateful for this wonderful community, which alerted me to this one. It was worth every penny — somehow just a very comfortable scent to wear.
Yay for a cheap thrill! And you can get points for it next Friday as well.
You smell great! It’s one of the best cheap thills I’ve smelled in a long time.
Gotta love those cheap thrills!
Hello all!
Robin, you smell great! I miss Ellena’s tenure at Hermes, though it was great while it lasted.
Today I’m grateful for my bottle of Iris Silver Mist, which is from the days before you could get it outside of Europe. My friend went to Paris and humored me, despite having no interest in perfume. I was so excited to finally hold a bell jar, and I wouldn’t have been able to without her help. She lived off the beach and I dabbed it on as we walked around. I almost went with El Attarine at the time, but I’ve since picked that one up as well.
I’ve had incredible luck finding great perfume but I feel most grateful for finding this community. Thank you everyone. 💕
Have a great day all!
El Attarine, yum. ISM is not yum but it’s fantastic.
I sort of miss JCE at Hermes, but since my “acquiring” days are mostly over, it’s relaxing that he moved on as well, and I do not feel compelled to keep track of what he’s doing now.
Two irreplaceable favorites, honestly.
I haven’t kept up with his new work either, though I do think you should try his Jasmin de Pays for Perris Monte Carlo if you can. It’s incredibly lovely.
It does sound tempting! I should dig around, I have SO many samples…it would be funny if I already had it!
I wonder!
Amazingly lovely!
I unexpectedly ran into some of his work in a sample set from Laboratorio Olfattivo!
I’m curious to try them but I haven’t gotten around to it.
I have too much to be thankful for to list here. I really am blessed in so many ways.
I’m thankful to Lovestosmellgood for her unrelenting love of Shalimar over these many years. She caused me to dip a toe in the water and buy the Eau de Cologne, which is now one of my favorites to wear. And it led me to Shalimar MT last year. So I’m wearing both today.
Two Shalimars has got to be better than one 🙂
Favorite Shalimar twins!!The edc is fantastic,I’m on my 3rd bottle since 2010!
Sounds like LTSG has earned an enabler pin or two today.
Wearing Guerlain Rose Cherie. It is a scent that I deeply fell in love with after a very kind NSTer sent me her sample. I am very, very thankful for it.
I am very grateful to Robin for keeping this wonderful community going every single day without interruptions and to all the generous people here who share their love for perfumes thru swaps, freebies, and splits. Also, for all your support during difficult moments as well as for sharing your happy and cheerful events in life. It is so refreshing to be part of NST!
Thanks God is Friday! It has been a hell of a working week. I am looking forward to next week when I will be working only Monday and Tuesday. I will take the rest of the week off. I really need some time to decompress.
Another beautiful sunny day in the upper 60s. The last one before we are back to cold and gray days. On my second cup of coffee and a chocolate croissant.
Happy Friday! ☕️
Rose Cherie is a great scent. You smell marvelous😉
Thank you, Kris!
Rose Cherie is such a pretty, soothing perfume. Lovely pick!
Thank you, Jalapeno. RC is so beautiful and comforting. I hope to get a full bottle some day.
OK Santa, are you listening? 🤣🎅🤶
🤣🤞
Rose Cherie, coffee and a chocolate croissant – I know why I hang out with NST’ers!
😊
Really enjoyed the two gorgeous days in a row…actually got a bunch of outside stuff done today (that I should have done in September).
Gratitude Friday freebies (CONUS only): 🌻
-One 5ml decant of Dame Soliflore Mimosa.
-One 5ml decant of Prada Infusion de Vetiver.
Please email me at monica67 in the land of Aol.
Prada Infusion de Vetiver has been claimed.
Dame Soliflore Mimosa is taken.
I am grateful for eBay and their vintage perfume sellers. eBay’s motto ought to be, “It’s never too late to have (or return to) a happy childhood.” When I opened my account, circa 2009/2010, I set about tracking down all of the perfumes I had loved during the previous half century. Plus some I had longed for at the time but couldn’t afford.
This year, I finally found the last — the most significant, the most longed for, the rarest, and most obscure. How and where it was located is a story for another time, when I reassemble my computer setup and have a real keyboard again, i.e. when a contractor finishes replacing some pipes in my apartment.
In the meantime, I will raise a glass to eBay on Thanksgiving! And thanks to all here on NST for your fragrant fellowship, and for to Robin for making it possible. 🍾🥂
If you don’t tell us what it is I will be obliged to make something up and it might not be pretty….Babe, Tramp, Meadowsong, Hollie Hobbie…
😸😸😸😸😸
Definitely looking forward to hearing “the rest of the story” about your most longed-for vintage Perfume Unicorn.
Way to leave us on a cliffhanger! I like forward to hearing the full tale.
So many times, I have added this note to Ebay sellers: “thank you for finding and offering vintage perfumes.” What a great thought for CP points, nozknoz!
💕I always thank them for the listing if I communicate with them!
I recently found a bottle of the discontinued Memo Manoa at a small perfume shop in Italy that refused to ship outside of Italy. A wonderful Italian NSTer came to my rescue and received the shipment, which was hand carried to the US and mailed by her BIL. So grateful!!
This was listed on ebay btw.
OMG Manoa!!! 💛
And what a true perfume friend! 🩵
SOTD is Shiseido White Rose. I am so grateful for this perfume–grateful that it exists, and that I managed to get a partial bottle of it. If I had to choose one brand, I would be torn between Guerlain and Shiseido. Guerlain has so many perfumes I love: Apres l’Ondee, Parure, Attrape-Coeur, Vega, Vol de Nuit. Shiseido, OTOH, gave us White Rose and Feminite du Bois, as well as a multitude of other scents I like very much. If I had to choose just 10 perfumes for the rest of my life, seven of them would probably be those I just listed.
Thank heavens we DON’T have to choose “only one”!
So grateful for Robin and this community. Also grateful that my decant of Guerlain Metallica isn’t all gone and I can wear it today
🙂
RIP AS Byatt

Oh, that is sad news. Such a fine writer.
I saw the brief mention in the news today. I loved the novel, Possession. The movie version was pretty good, IMO. Or, perhaps I liked it because I got to fantasize over one of my favorite actors, Jeremy Northam. ❤️🔥
Love her books. RIP.
Hi fragrant friends! I’m so grateful for all of you, and this little community, and Robin’s hard work to create this space for us. I’ve just returned from a multi-day work conference where my only fragrance was a tester of Neroli Portofino that I found in the bottom of my makeup bag. Today I’m wearing Cuir de Gardenia, a fragrance that for me manages to be extremely sexy and extremely comforting all at once, wrapping me in a soft golden glow. It makes me glad to be a perfume enthusiast and grateful for all the beauty of the world.
Joining you in thanking Robin; I mean, gosh…. 🙂
🙂
Bah! So grumpy today. So puttering around the kitchen I thought of all the little annoying chores I should just get off my plate before I even start work (me being the proverbial parched plant about to be watered by a fire hose), which I did, and then I remembered NST and KNEW y’all would cheer me up. So will log onto work late so I can stop by and say hi!
I love Kanuka’s CP, but mostly and looking forward to her response, which I know should be edifying. For me? I’m grateful for a lot scents, perfumes included. I guess the sentimental favorite right now would be Promise, a crazy gorgeous heavy scent. No oud listed in the notes, but it wafts unapologetic woodiness plus spice. My husband loves it. I gave him a sample, which he finished, and then a travel spray, and then a full bottle. It gives him so much pleasure, which gives me pleasure. I never in a bizillion years would have thought my staid, lowland Scottish spouse would develop a penchant for a perfume like Promise. It delights me! (Except when he sprays six generous sprays and then expects me to go grocery shopping with him. People in my town feel no compunction to withhold their annoyance at a man whose going nuclear in cypriol!)
But I also had an idea for another CP, unless we’ve already done one like it. Rename the perfume you are wearing to a more fitting name. Since I missed today’s CP cue, I’ll go with that. I’m in Tanagra (Mr. Google tells me Tanagra is a town north of Athens famous for its terracotta figures of women). This one I’d name Greta Garbo.
That’s a really nice story, about Promise. I love it. I wish you could ditch the work and come with me to the gardens and literally smell the roses, lily of the valley, rhododendrons and see the beautiful irises by the “Japanese” pond.
Me too. I’m not sure I have ever seen lily of the valley in “the wild.” Adding to my list of wishes.
I love the perfume renaming CP idea!
We have done it! But I will try to find it and see if the wording was a little different and how long it’s been, etc 🙂
And I also love the Promise story, that’s great.
When I was recovering from cancer surgery a couple of years ago I would have a three hour period in the early hours of the morning, when I was in severe pain but it was too soon to take my next round of painkillers. I knew that lavender scents had a relaxing effect so initially used that time to experiment with scents like Jicky. They didn’t really help so I moved on to jasmine, then vanilla, amber…They all had an effect in terms of distracting me a little, but one perfume stood head and shoulders above the rest in terms of soothing and calming me, and that was Chypre Mousse. It honestly got me through some extremely bleak periods, and when I wear it now I am transported back to that deep dark time and I feel so grateful for the comfort it gave me. This morning is a perfect spring day and I’m off to the botanic gardens and wearing my dear friend, Chypre Mousse, as I enjoy life.
It’s so wonderful that you didn’t develop negative associations with it and can still wear and regard it with affection.
It was there for me in the same way family, my dogs and friends were and none of those things are anything but positive memories
Yes – Thank You for your story!
That’s such a wonderful reason to love a perfume, and even better that you can enjoy life! I always love reading your comments, so well thought out and worded.
Yay for Chypre Mousse, wear it in good health, Kanuka and thank you for the CP.
Chypre Mousse really is in a class of its own!
Yes to this! And to MORE LIFE!
🤗🤗
That’s a beautiful reason to love a perfume. And a perfect demonstration of how fragrance can add good things to our lives.
To Life, and to Chypre Mousse.
Enjoy the spring, the gardens, life!! 🩷🧡💛💚💙💜
How lovely. This wins the cp for sure, Kanuka.
Such a beautiful post. I’m so grateful you’re here, Kanuka!
Oh that’s lovely. Thank you for sharing.
Echoing everything Robin said about the house of Hermes — it is the most represented in my little arsenal, and all of them are up there among my most cherished. Today I’m wearing Agar Ebene from one of those extremely cute 15 ml bottles and marveling at how perfectly composed it is.
15mL is the perfect perfumista size, isn’t it?
YES. I almost made “thankful for perfume houses that do small sizes” as my CP theme today, but threw on Chanel 19 extrait instead
I ordered a 10ml of Scent of Woods Santal Umeshu yesterday. So glad I didn’t have to buy an entire 75ml.
CP twins 🙂
I’m wearing Cristalle (EDT) to honour Robin and thank her for keeping this place alive and welcoming.
I had always loved perfume, but had been getting a bit bored with what was on offer in average department stores for a while, when I wanted to find a bottle of Cristalle for not too much money, started searching online and stumbled onto Robin’s witty review of it. Reading about Cristalle got me reading about lots of other fragrances which led to sniffing, and more sniffing. And then to lots of perfume buying.
A good fifteen years later, I’m no longer as dedicated about trying new perfumes and only buy fragrance occasionally. What hasn’t changed is my love of wearing fragrance. It’s one of those innocent pleasures that make difficult days easier and good days even better. I hope this blog will continue to exist for a good long time!
Yes, second this!!!! “It’s one of those innocent pleasures that make difficult days easier and good days even better. I hope this blog will continue to exist for a good long time!”
🧡🧡🧡
Thirding the sentiment expressed in your final paragraph!
Aw, thank you, and of course you smell great!
There are so many things I am grateful for, but will stick to perfume things for today. I, like many others have mentioned, am so grateful for Robin keeping this site going for so many years. I am also grateful for all the people who have swapped with me or allowed me to buy decants from them. I am especially grateful to Allo as she has swapped with me several times over the year. I am wearing one of the beauties she gave me today – Byredo Rose of No Man’s Land. Thanks to all of you for all the information that you have offered over the years about fragrances out there.
This community truly is something special.
As usual, I am too late to the party but not too late to say, my dear NST friend, the feeling is SO mutual! I am so grateful for our fragrant paths crossing, your endless generosity and the gift of so many beautiful scents. I treasure all of our spontaneous offerings. Thank you!💕🌸
SOTD = Bottega Veneta Extrait
This is the OG at extrait strength, thanks to cazaubon! We have many generous posters here on NST, ranging from swappers to splitters to freebie providers. And of course, thanks to Robin for keeping this community going!
https://www.instagram.com/p/CzwgQzbx8fq/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
For tomorrow’s NYC outing, we will start at the Union Square Holiday Market and then find our way uptown. I haven’t decided where we will eat yet but we’ll make it work so they get to go on their reserved visit to MoMA. I was thinking Fogo de Chao but it may turn out to be too crowded. We’ll see!
Bottega Veneta Extrait?? ZOMG, you must smell amazing.
Thanks! I must say I do!
Have a great outing tomorrow!
Thanks. We’ll see!
You smell wonderful! 🙂 Have a great outing!
Oh! An outing! Starting at the markets…I miss them so much. And sniffing with you all. Have a great time,
I too have a lot to be grateful for, from living in a beautiful peaceful part of the world to the immediate moment of a beautiful sunny Saturday morning. Waking up to sunshine and blue sky is always special, although people living in other climates might feel differently about that!
Perfume-wise, I’m grateful for everything – that so many fabulous perfumes exist, that NST is such a wonderful place and that i’ve been able to try so many different perfumes.
I’m thinking about wearing one of spring and summer favourites, Annick Goutal’s Chèvrefeuille.
I’m in a different hemisphere but also thankful for sunshine and blue sky here. I also love Annick Goutal Chèvrefeuille –you’ll smell wonderful.
Like all of us, very grateful for this cozy community and Robin who does so much to keep it going. Well, I acquired many perfumes over the last few years, currently on a low buy which is lucky as perfume prices have inflated so much, wearing Shalimar Philtre which I ended up loving the best of all the flankers, and tonight YR Folies de Saisons Délires d’automne, so glad that some perfume houses specialize in affordable perfumes without compromising on the quality.
Good for you on sticking to that Low Buy!
I know you’re on low buy too, before I bought 9 or 10 a quarter and now it’s 5 or 6.
Hopefully I can go to Very Low Buy, which would be 1 – 3 bottles a year. That was my original goal for this year.
Guess I can recycle that resolution for 2024. 🤣😉
Perfume prices are insane now!
You are great at finding the deals though.
Totally, I still buy some but not like before.
It’s already almost 1:00pm and I still have not really gotten myself together yet. I had a yoga class at 7, then made blueberry muffins, then talked to a good friend who has known me since third grade and now I’m going to vacuum and THEN finally get dressed. I think I’ll go with Theorema as it’s never the wrong choice. Grateful that I found a bottle before it was hard to find and that the sun is shining.
“Finding a bottle before it was hard to find” for many different scents is something that the perfume community excels at!
Two fragrances have accompanied me all of my perfumed life, and not only am I grateful for them but I’m fortunate to still have the best vintage versions of them still with me: Helena Rubenstein Heaven Sent and Houbigant Chantilly. It’s Chantilly I’ve chosen for my SOTD and today’s cp. Its beauty and warmth have been with me through all the ups and downs of my life, and I think this is the first perfume of my very own that I didn’t borrow from my mom. I ❤️ it still!
Tomorrow is my birthday, and as a gift Mr. Laila bought tickets for a concert tonight at a nearby 1920’s movie theater that was closed for many years and has recently been given new life as a live performance venue. Paul Anka was my first heartthrob as a very young girl and it was he we were supposed to see tonight. Unfortunately, the concert was postponed for unexplained reasons until next June, but they quickly scheduled two male vocalists in the same vein for tonight and we are able to see them for free – and our tickets remain valid for the June Anka performance 🤞or we can get our money back. I thought that was very generous of the theater to offer us an additional free concert! Mr. Laila’s birthday was at the beginning of November, mine is in the middle, and my son’s is at the end, so as a family we celebrate all 3 on Thanksgiving. Much to be grateful for! And I include in my thanks this beautiful NST community filled with kindred spirits!🙏❤️
Our weather here has been absolutely glorious this week, all bright ☀️ , warm temps, and colorful 🍁🍂, it’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is next week already. Wishing all a wonderful weekend ahead!
Have a wonderful birthday!
Happy birthday, Laila! Enjoy the concert tonight! 🎂
Happy Scented Birthday in advance, Laila! 🍾🎂🥂🎶🎵
Enjoy your concert and weekend.
Happy birth month to the entire family! 🎂🥳
Heaven Scent is one of my first loves!
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday x 3!
Happy Birthday, Laila!!!💐
Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday, Laila!
Many thanks for your birthday wishes 🙏. It was a great concert, Sinatra-singing Sal “The Voice” Valentinetti, America’s Got Talent winner, and Pavorotti-sounding tenor star Jonathan Celio Faro 🎶
Greetings NST!
I am grateful that I was able to sign a lease for an apartment out in Colorado earlier this week. Now I have to figure out how I am getting myself, Teflon kitty, and my stuff out there.
Also grateful for all the scented lotions and body butters I have, so that if I am not feeling up to wearing perfume, I still have something scented so I don’t feel “perfume nekkid”. Works if I am traveling, too.
SOTD = Heeley Eau Sacree, from the Sample Stash. Yes to incense! Also wearing Dame Perfumery Orange Blossom Body Butter in the usual spots.
You smell wonderful!
Great news about the apartment! One less thing to worry about. Hugs!
Thanks perfumelover67! Always appreciate the hugs.
I am so happy you have a landing spot! Sending perfumed hugs to you and scritches to TK! And yes, body butters and lotions are going to be especially appreciated as we move toward Winter. I think CO is going to be more drying to the skin??
Thank you MossyBerry!
Colorado is dry as a popcorn f@rt in Winter. Temps easily get subzero on the Fahrenheit scale out there, plus it’s semi arid.
Super dry but lots of sunshine!
That’s great news and here’s to creating a new nest.
Thanks Kanuka!
I will be in the same vicinity as my brother. He’s been a rock thru all of this.
Glad to hear the good news! And to see you here.
May your move go smoothly!
Thank you lillyjo! I got back yesterday, but was pretty much jet lagged out of my mind.
Congrats on the apartment! Are you driving a moving truck? Or your personal vehicle? Whatever it is, drive safe and avoid the yahoos out there. I also hope you don’t have to deal with bad weather in your way out there! Kisses to TK!
Thanks Deva!
“Personal vehicle” is not an option. I have a “beater with a heater” waiting for me in Colorado, but it doesn’t have insurance or plates yet.
I’m thinking I may have to take out my valuables in one trip, and have movers deal with the heavy stuff. Logistics.
Happy to hear you have your new apartment squared away!
Thank you Vee!
Great to see you back and glad you were able to secure an apartment in Colorado.
Thanks Kris!
Congratulations on securing the apartment. I’m glad you will be close by with your brother!
Thank you hajusuuri!
Such good news, so happy for you and kitty.
Thanks Aurora!
That reminds me, I have to get documentation from Teflon’s vet…
Oh good…so glad you have an actual destination, that’s great, even if it’s just the first step. Wishing you the least stress possible as you get yourself out to Colorado and all settled in.
And really glad you checked in!
Thank you Robin! I will keep NST informed. Hoping that I won’t be moving in a pile of snow, lol.
Good news, one less worry. Sending hugs and easy move vibes.
Thanks cazaubon!
That’s great news! I hope the transition is as easy as possible and you land safely and softly into your new nest🌸
Thank you allo!
I hate moving, but it is a necessary evil. It’s partly why I have been in the same place for 23 years.
You have a fellow not liker of change in me😊
That’s great news!! Thinking of you!
Thanks springpansy! I will be close to Longmont.
Excellent!
That’s wonderful news! Glad you found a place so quickly.
Catching up on NST from Friday very late, but I wanted to let you know I’m happy for you finding an apartment out there! I hope all the next steps go smoothly. 💞
I am trying Versatile God Bless Cola today and am enjoying. Notes and description from the brand are below. The popcorn was a bit much in the opening but it died down quickly. First I have tried from this house.
Cola. Popcorn. Sugar. Vanilla. Sparkling.
Addictive. Caramel. Warm. Gourmand.
Wanted to add there was a fire at Ministry of Scent in SF this week…they were formerly Tigerlily. I have no affiliation just a customer buying stuff from them. It looks like they will recover but a nice time to make an online purchase if you need an excuse/good reason to support them. ❤️

Oh dear! So glad they are ok and looking for a new spot.
Oh no, how awful!
Thanks for the reminder she-ra!
I didn’t mean to not post all week but every time I remembered to do it, it was already quite late here on the West Coast. But I’ve loved this week’s CP!
I ended up wearing perfumes that I’ve had and loved for a long time, most of which I discovered during MUA days and have all been discontinued or unavailable for long periods of time. Today it’s a perfume that makes me happy every time I wear it and feels like “me” – L’air de Rien. The others I’ve worn this week are Lèa, Laura Mercier Nuits Enchantees, Guerlain Vetiver Pour Elle (only two sprays left in my decant now!), and The People of the Labyrinths Luctor et Emergo.
For the CP, Luctor et Emergo and L’air de Rien are perfect IMHO!
A perfect MUA mix!
For the CP: Estee Lauder Estee, for all the loving ladies of my youth that helped me grow up, and for all my NST friends who like to fill a room with their sillage. 😀 Also, I remember with thanks dear “The Non-Blonde,” Ms. Gaia Fishler. She was the first to help me understand the joys of perfume.
A very sweet post MossyBerry.
You are an Estee Lauder superfan, for sure.
Nice.
I am grateful for many things, particular our perfume community here and to Robin for fostering it. I am wearing Nicolai’s Le Temps d’une Fete, which is a true love and which I have because of the awesome NST community. I’m grateful to SheriG for sending me an extremely generous amount when I mentioned that it was a white whale for me. I’m grateful to Nicolai for making a bottle for me last year on special order. It’s not quite the same but comes pretty close. I’m grateful to Suzan at Shop France for coordinating the order for me and hauling back to the US. I’m grateful to whomever here mentioned Shop France (I wish I could remember). I’m grateful to Angela for her review of it that piqued my interest in the first place.
I love reading everyone’s CP descriptions today and am looking forward to catching up on the rest of the week over the next few days.
So many people to find your white whale, I love it!
I came to NST accidentally during one of the worst periods of my life. To say I am grateful is an understatement. Thank you Robin and dear readers for sharing thoughts, feelings and perfume. Thank you for including me, and giving me an appreciation for nature and animal’s, charity, and art. Thank you for helping me see the world at large and not just my own 5 mile radius. Thank you for putting up with my poor grammar and run on sentences, and for laughing at my jokes!
Today I chose Coco edp. Thanks to generous NSTers I don’t ever have to worry about running out.🌞
You are part and parcel of why NST is special, lillyjo. You have a heart of gold.
Oh, and I watched this earlier today. Thought of you!

He’s 72 and still has that voice! Crazy!🤘
Yeah, that is pretty d@mn amazing. He’s aged well.
Beautiful and very touching post, Lillyjo! Thanks for being part of NST! 🌷🩷🌞
Thanks right back! 🌷😊
Glad you’re here, lillyjo! I appreciate you.
Thanks friend! I appreciate you too!
Lillyjo, I look forward to your posts every single day! Just remember, we’re “locked in!” twins at the grocery store! 😂

Dying 🤣🤣👍
LOL!
And thank you for being my scent twin, Lillyjo.
We always smell great Aurora!
Thank you for bringing so much joy to this community and of course, you smell fantastic!
I’m grateful you’re here!
As others, I am grateful for NST. It is such a welcome place.
I am grateful for perfume samples. I love trying new perfumes and I have definitely expanded my world of perfumes through sampling. I am sometimes surprised when I order a batch of samples and the ones that seemed least likely to be my taste end up being my favorites.
I am wearing a sample of Herod today. It started out a little masculine but now settled into an apple pie vibe with the cinnamon.
It is fun when the outliers turn out to be the ones you want!
Late but very grateful for NST and all the friends I’ve made in the perfume community! Wearing Cuir Sacré so I could thunk a decant. 🙂
I’m grateful for happening upon this lovely place and feeling a sense of community with people near and far. Thank you, Robin, for tending this beautiful place with its beautiful people😊
I’m really late. Started the day out in my carrot seed oil and almond oil combo. When that was done I applied 4 big sprays of vintage Poison!
I’m so grateful for NST and all the wonderful folks here. Perfume people really are the best!
And I’m grateful for your carrot seed oil inspiration!
