Maison Margiela From the Garden ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 20 October 2023 5 Comments

Maison Margiela has introduced From the Garden (Puglia 1998), a new unisex fragrance joining the Replica series. (From the Garden is not to be confused with 2013's Promenade in the Gardens.)

From the Garden is an uplifting fragrance that evokes the joyful feeling of a sunny afternoon spent in the garden. The grounding sensation of placing one’s hands in the earth; the pleasure of picking ripe, juicy tomatoes; the buzz of bees in the air.

The fragrance’s Tomato Leaf accord combines with Green Mandarin notes to create a crisp, juicy effect. While green and uplifting, From the Garden’s notes of Patchouli and Geranium bring a humid, earthy quality. Contrasted with the fragrance’s freshness, the result is an elegant, crisp scent, conjuring the memory of a sunny afternoon spent in a garden.

When creating this fragrance, perfumer Olivier Cresp was inspired by his memories of spending time in his childhood garden with his father, of taking in the plants’ scent, and years later doing the same with his own son, Sebastien. From the Garden’s green and earthy notes remind Cresp of this transporting moment and being immersed in the tranquility of a sun-drenched garden.

Maison Margiela From the Garden is available at The Loop in Ireland, €106 for 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (10 and 30 ml sizes will probably be available when the fragrance goes into wider distribution.)

Sounds lovely…but springy? A bit odd for an October release?

I don’t know the official release date, but I don’t think fragrance companies worry much about seasons these days anyway.

        You got that right.
It doesn’t matter anyway or would effect my life..I just found it a bit odd 😉
Will definitely give it a sniff if I come across it.

I will too, although so far have not been tempted to buy any of this series.

            Me neither.
I had the By The Fireplace candle, but I didn’t tempt to buy the perfume.
