I am at the beach (again) for a couple days. I'm commando at the moment but planning a few drops of Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum later on.

Ilha Do Mel for todays summer heat!
I’ve wanted to smell this fragrance for so long, but no luck with tester bottles so far! Sounds dreamy.
This is better than Chanel Beige IMHO, as far as a honey fragrance

I would trade with you, at least for a week or two. It is 95- 100 every day, weeks on end. At least we got a little rain a few days back. We leave a basin of water out for the neighborhood deer and rabbits.

Jour Ensolleille because it’s warm but more humid than I’d prefer. To me, JE is a “dry” scent. One of my favorites.
Day off today, so heading out to meet some women to plan a fall class. Then errands, then home to – hopefully – get some things hung on the walls. We keep balking on getting that done. Then tomorrow, it’s the 4th craziness starting.

Trying to find the bag of samples I got from Etiket – apparently there are two versions of Heeley Blanc Poudre and they had both. Still digging. 🙂

The new one is much sweeter and stronger on me. It reminds me of something else but can’t put my finger on it. It has a little bit of the Kenzo Flower vibe, a bit of iris/violet too.
Hmm, interesting that there’s 2 versions. I ordered 2 samples of it; I could barely smell the first one, and I applied the whole vial. Mine both just say the name of the scent, no differences. I will have to try the 2nd sample.
Are they marked any differently?
On Etiket’s website they’re marked I & II, but the bottles themselves did not appear to be marked differently. The manager said he could still order both versions.

The weatherman said it will be “steamy” today so I’m in Chanel Biarritz. This has been my most worn scent of June, it’s been a hot month! Can’t believe it will be July already. Is it just me, or does June always go by faster than January does?😏
They found something else wrong with my car yesterday so I’m still in the loaner. First world problems I guess, as it’s still covered under warranty. I’m tempted to look for a new car given the fact that it only has 15,000 miles on it and already having stuff go wrong. Sigh
Anyway, today is my Friday! Madtownteen has a job interview today! It’s at our local grocery, where her older brother and sister worked in high school, so I’m just assuming they’ll hire her. One small step out into the world and toward independence.😀

I’m in Chanel Riviera today. I got decants of these from Royalty Scents last year, but when I checked this year for some of the new Eaux de Chanel, they no longer carried any. I think that of the few I got, I have only worn one other. I like this one, so I’ll have to dig the others out of where ever I’ve stashed them to try.
I’m in Heeley Cuir Pleine Fleur and headed out to the long-awaited eye checkup and frames hunt! Oh, happy Friday Eve everyone!

Wearing Atelier Cologne Bergamote Soleil since I’d planned to wear it Monday when it was hot but got sidetracked once I realized it was orange blossom day. Today will be warmer than the last two cooler days that were in the 60s but not as hot as the 91 that was Monday. It should be a comfortable 75. Perfect!
On a bergamot note, I think this Atelier decant is the last I have of any bergamot-prominent perfumes. It may be my least favorite of the bergamots I’ve tried though because of its milky note. I think my favorite bergamot is the Le Labo, and I may end up getting a small bottle before next summer. But I should probably dig into my collection to make sure I’m not overlooking other bergamot goodness.

SOTD is PdN Juste un Reve. I’d describe it as sunscreen-adjacent: tuberose, jasmine, light coconut, light apricot, sandalwood. A bit more perfume-y than my usual, but I’m enjoying it.
The fog finally returned to us last night, so it’s chilly in the house, and the cat is snuggly again.
Woke up with the cat nuzzled up to me. Space heater is on. Grrrrrrr.
I’d left the windows open overnight so it was 61 degrees in the living room when I got up this morning. Brrrr
Sunscreen adjacent is a good description. Yet I find Juste un Reve different than any other fragrance. I like it.
It is different! And I’m enjoying it. Good thing, since due to an ordering fiasco (*), I have 2 bottles of that, and 2 bottles of Riviera Verbena, which I also like.
* Ordered one of each direct from PdN. The package disappeared into the USPS, where it’s untrackable, of course, having a French tracking #. So then BeautyHabit’s sale popped up, so I ordered one of each from BeautyHabit. Of course both orders arrived this week within a day of each other.

Giving a good try to my sample of Hera Papillon. And realising today that the dominant note I smell is probably narcissus! I didn’t know much about the odour profile of narcissus nor did I have a reference, but this is apparently incredibly complex with over a hundred compounds identified, with many more, giving variable facets of : green floral, opulent floral, green woody/oakmoss, animalic and even tobacco! That may help explain how differently people review this perfume. For me this is a green vintage, chypre like floral perfume. Not at all sweet, as some people’s impression is, but bitter green (in a good way though). Makes me think of Nahema for some reason. Wondering what other nster’s take on this perfume is? Scent is a fascinating thing.

The last couple of weeks have been very hectic at work. No time to breathe. I am now at one of the construction sites every day for the next couple of months, so no way to check on NST during the day. I don’t think I can catch up on all previous comments, so I hope everybody is doing well.
I am off from work starting today and until Tuesday (yay!) , so this 5 days staycation will be used to rest, keep organizing stuff at home and meeting my sisters at some point to have dinner together.
On my third cup of iced coffee with a slice of lemon pie. Yummy and refreshing! ☕️🥧🍋

Did my MRCP this morning with only a little bit of leaking from the eyes. The Rad Tech was amazing and he made a huge difference compared to the other tech I had last year.
To celebrate one more thing getting checked off my Health To Do list I’m wearing Tauer’s Au Coeur du Desert. I’m about a third of the way through my 5ml travel size. I just may transfer it to a travel spray bottle for better and larger application. Jonesing for a full bottle!

Right, makes sense. I have only had two mri and both were on my stomach…very unpleasant / uncomfortable but i was not in a straitjacket so there’s that.

It really is! I have stored away from light, underneath my bed in those old wrapping paper trays. Makes it easy to slide out. I’m still dreaming of a perfume room with all kinds of storage!

I’m in Lush’s Dirty body spray because I needed another herbally fresh scent for the heat this morning. I wish Lush made a edible version because I keep thinking how it would be fantastic in a gin soda.
This afternoon I am sitting in frigid, air-conditioned glory! After day 6 of our usual HVAC company saying they would call us and then not, we called another company and they were here in less than 18 hours to fix the AC. The field tech (who looked 12 years old) told me it was an easy fix and had it done in less than a half hour. When I told him that he is my new favorite person, he got very serious and was like: really, ma’am, this was not a big deal. 😂
I am drinking F&M celebration tea in celebration of that and of a work thing this morning that went way better than anticipated.

SOTD = Jean Patou 1000 EdP, from a travel spray. This is not the vintage version with loads of oakmoss. I didn’t care for it the first time I tried it. But today, it is hitting the spot. I guess this one is another perfume that loves hot weather. Curiouser and curiouser!

Smells like vetiver with a hint of mint, neither of which are in the notes (per Fragrantica). I’m working from home today so I was able to re-up and even that did not last long. In any case, it is pleasant and if I wear this often, it will get thunked in no time!
So I work in an office in New York City. By any stretch of the imagination, it is not the beach. Anyway, yesterday, I saw this guy with his shoes and socks (if he even wore them to begin with) off – yes, people, barefeet! I’m glad I didn’t sit close to him because I would have been skeeved out! Really, why would anyone think it is appropriate?
And one more thing…not a doctor but I heard that people should switch between sitting and standing. This one guy was always standing. All of a sudden, after his absence for a week, I saw him seated. I made a comment that it’s unusual to see him sitting down and he said he hurt his back standing all the time. While it’s a good thing to stand while working, it’s best to switch up every so often (as in several times a day).
