Wednesday scent of the day 6/1

Posted by Robin on 1 June 2022 129 Comments

Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit and welcome to June! (It’s also World Milk Day and National Go Barefoot Day, and happy 85th to Morgan Freeman!) What fragrance are you wearing?

I'm in Hermès Eau de Pamplemousse Rose for what looks to be a warm day.

Reminder: on 6/3, for World Bicycle Day, wear something sporty (or just outdoorsy, or whatever you think fits).

And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2022, where I'll try (but obviously sometimes fail) to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Note: the Bunny rabbit riding bike Sticker is $3.00 at RedBubble.

    Good morning and 🐰🐰🐰!
Sotd is ELdO Spice Must Flow. Oud is not listed but I get this oudy rose feel. Not very spicy on me, which I like.
Very very warm day today, thankfully I will be staying indoors. Planning to make double chocolate cookies studded with mini marshmallows.

Good morning y’all! I’m in PdN L’Eau Mixte for another hot day in Houston.

I have a traveling box of samples and decants that allo sent me last December, that I’m just now getting around to sending on to someone else. Life gets in the way. 😳 I’ve added some samples to beef it up. If you’re interested, drop me a line at nancys frags aaat geemayle dot calm.

Lavishly sprayed on Chanel No.19 Poudre.
Cloudy and in the lower 70’s todays. A big relief after the hellish mid 90’s yesterday.
Finishing my second cup of coffee and ready for a very busy rest of the day.

It was hot when I came out of work yesterday…surprisingly so. Changed into shorts as soon as I got home. Today with be cooler.

Comptoir SP Aloha Tiaré today. It’s not as lush and heady as Guerlain Terracotta – fresher. Not that anyone will smell my SOTD…I compete with bakery smells, to which I’ve become anosmic. Thankfully.

We have a new baker, who will be coming in early to help share that load. She’s from Ukraine. Has an aunt and uncle here, so was able to get a special visa after fleeing to Germany. She’s only been here a week. Her English is surprisingly good, but still rough. I’m in awe. A lot for a 21 year old to handle.

Yes. It’s for two years. Which is a good amount of time. It’s so funny. She mostly has heard of New York. Asked me about Niagara Falls. Thought Boston was part of NY…I told her to never say that to a Boston person. It’s very amusing hearing what she knows of the US.

Knew it was a new month but forgot the rabbits…

Yesterday, I got a lot of stuff done. While my laundry was swishing, I crossed the streets to a hole in the wall Mexican place for lunch. 30 minutes later my brain, in flashing neon, told me “Deva, this is not going to end well.” And it didn’t! 😭

Still feel a flittering nausea at the periphery of my consciousness, so I’m staying away from perfume today. And coffee. And food. Just tea for me please. Plus, I think another gall stone was passed, hopefully completely. The Marge Simpson yellow is not a good look for me.

I wore the vintage Eau de Givenchy which Robin wore not long ago and that reminded me that I have it, it’s a fresh light floral, not citrussy but it inevitably wore off, tonight I impulsively sprayed Dia which smells fine but I wanted something cosier, so I am in a copious amount of Franck Boclet Vanille which I call the poor man’s Dulcis in fundo.

A rabbit AND a bike! Pretty impressive, Robin. Apparently we have a good view of Gemini in the evening sky and I was really taken by the fact that the light we see shining from the star Castor ( the second brightest in Gemini after Pollux, which is almost next to the moon at the moment) began its journey to earth in 1988! Feels like time travel. Trying to think of a 1988 perfume in my collection to wear but in the meantime going with Fresh Cream for milk day.

The rain and wind woke me up a couple of times last night, it seems a bit calmer now as day breaks.
I’ve decided to wear a long time favourite today, Frederick Malle’s Iris Poudre.

We have sofas, we’ve smudged using the sage that our realtor gave us at closing, we’ve soaked in our hot tub and dried off with the big fluffy towels that our realtor also included in our welcome gift. We have internet and have discovered a pretty good Thai restaurant a couple of blocks from our favorite dim sum place. Officially, we move on Tues. We’re still trying to determine who gets the nook next to the master bedroom…

    Song of the Day: https://youtu.be/8Vp7TmTfVZI

It’s June, and it’s definitely summer now! Also, the first day of the Atlantic hurricane season. The muggies have stopped by to say “Hey” to me.

    SOTD = Alaia EdP again.

Is it hurricane season already? I did not know. Fingers crossed, there’s already not much beach left at my local spot.

World Milk is too expensive day!
$3.89 a gallon but still cheaper than gas. Lol.
I got in a small debate with a lady in a line today over fuel costs. I quit talking about 2 minutes in once I realized she was only listening to herself. She just kept talking…
My sotd is Orchid Soliel so I’m smelling great and bonus I have excellent weather… and I remembered my rabbits 🐇🐇🐇🌞

You are definitely smelling great! I kind of wish I would have grabbed a bottle of that one before it disappeared. But I still have a manufacturer’s sample, so I guess I am not hurting too much, right?

I grabbed a 1oz at the last second about a year ago. I never spray more than 2 sprays because it can turn sickly sweet imo.
A sample should last a long time. I wish I would have grabbed Sahara Noir and the Pour Femme and Orchid Luminaire.

Lotta people wish they would have gotten Sahara Noir. That’s a big club!

I figure that Guerlain Terracotta is similar enough to Orchid Soleil. Afraid to do a side-by-side sniff off, though… that could knock a person over!

Having just finished my vegetable garden, “rabbit, rabbit, rabbit” is NOT a good thought! Crawling around on the ground attaching hexwire to the deer fence – while bunnies were circling – gave me a very dim view of our cotton-tailed friends! However, they’ve had almost two weeks to test my defenses, so I think I am safe. :D SotD from a generous NST’er Floraiku First Dream of the Year. An enjoyable and, to my nose fresh, scent for a hot day. I am trying to tune my nose to fresh scents. I have such a strong preference for “bombshell” style scents. Happy hump day!

When we had a serious container garden on the patio, we often had raids from the neighborhood squirrels, so I feel your pain! Glad to hear that your defenses against the bunnies seem to be holding.
