The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 29 April 2022 8 Comments

Caudalie launched Vinofresh, their aluminum-free natural deodorant, last year, and I still haven't tried it — raise your hand if you have! "Take care of your underarms while combating odors thanks to the new natural Vinofresh deodorant. Its unique formula is made up of 98% natural origin ingredients and is guaranteed aluminium-free, alcohol-free, silicone-free and baking soda-free. Effective for 24 hours, its stick format is easy to use: it acts in one go without leaving traces or blocking pores. This natural 24 hour deodorant is powered by Organic fresh-scent Eucalyptus and prebiotic Grape Water to control odor, hydrate, and support a healthier underarm flora." Reviews are mixed, as is usually the case with natural deodorants, but I'm wondering if it's any better than what I already have (Malin + Goetz Eucalyptus Deodorant). $15.

I have it and it is ok, but definitely not 24hr on me. It’s one of the few natural deodorant on the market that I don’t react to. It is fine for days when I don’t use my Kosas sport liquid rollerball one. Hope this helps…

Thank you so much! I don’t think any of them are 24 hour, frankly…for that you need aluminum.

I have never tried this one, but I have been using the Corpus natural deodorant since it was (IIRC) a lemming a while back — more than a year ago (?). I had been using Tom’s and finding it ineffective. The Corpus is pricey, but one stick lasts me 5-6 months, and I have been really happy with it. I cannot say is always lasts 24 hours, but it’s more than enough to get me through my workday and waking hours unstinky. I also perceive it as giving some antiperspirant benefits, but that is not how it’s marketed. I’ve been using the Troisième Rose scent.

A very belated thank you skalolazka, that’s really helpful!

For anyone who wants to see the Corpus:

I havent tried it but my current favorite is Loccitane´s Verbaine. There is also a French brand which is really good called Las Petits Prodiges.

Really appreciate skalolazka’s info on the the Corpus version and the link from Robin. I’ve been using Hurraw’s “BalmUnder” deodorant (almond/mint/lemongrass scent) in the winter, when I don’t sweat much: https://hurrawbalm.com/products/almond-mint-lemongrass-balmunder-1

It’s pretty effective, although I do revert back to Secret heavy-duty-chemical version for the hot months. There’s an unscented version and a cedar-vetiver-lime one, too. The almond-mint-lemongrass smells wonderful. (I’ve heard you can use it on feet too, to keep the sweaty-smellies out of your sneakers. I’m trying that this summer.)

Thanks, good to have all these resources!

I also have a tube of the Secret Aluminum-Free / Plastic-Free rose + geranium, and same … I use it when I don’t think I’ll sweat much! I do like the smell and it was a whole ton cheaper than the Malin Goetz.
