I’m in Hummingbird from my Zoologist discovery set. It is very sweet, and quite strong. I had only a tiny amount left in the sample and I think that was more than enough. Pretty so far. So far the only fbw I have found is Nuit de Tubereuse, and I have a manufacturer’s travel size of that.
It is such a great scent! I would buy a travel size if they had one.

I’m wearing Zoologist Chipmunk, giving it a more decent try today after just a wee dab the other day. It’s very pleasant, not sure I’m going to need a bottle though. I tend to like the more edgy and difficult ones. Strangely enough, after I’d had yesterday’s sample, Boy Smells Suede Pony, on for quite awhile, I mainly smelled hazelnut–just about like the Chipmunk today!
Nothing too much interesting going on over here today. I’m starting to get cabin fever from too much time stuck inside–I miss going out to restaurants or museums or shopping. Somehow shopping online just isn’t the same! By coincidence, three good friends who might otherwise take me out somewhere fun are all out of town right now, and I don’t really trust Uber drivers to be decent enough to help me with my walker these days (in the old days, most did, as a matter of course, but I’ve had some real jerks a few times, even people taking me to or picking me up from the hospital–can you believe it?–they wouldn’t bother to open the door for me or help me get my walker set up). The loss of civility is evident and unfortunate. Rant over.
I have to try Chipmunk again, it sounds like I should love it but as I recall, I didn’t.
That’s awful about your Uber experiences at the hospital. No excuse! I understand about the cabin fever, it’s hard to remember that this too will pass when you are bored and stuck. My sympathies, Calypso.

Wearing the lovely and very springlike Sous les Magnolias by Pierre Bourdon. It fits the glorious spring weather really well, glad to see that narcissus is in the spotlight this week, it’s one of my favourite notes.
I wore Carat the other day, it’s nice enough, but I’m going to give my small bottle (that I got as a bonus buying something else) to someone who will love it more than I do.

I’ll be stealing Robin’s Carat idea for Friday. I don’t think I have much more narcissus. I’m in Iris Poudre today, a scent that always feels like “me”. I also just ordered two travel sprays of my other FM spring favorites: Lys Mediterranee and En Passant. I’m hoping it will prompt our weather into compliance.
Am also on the lookout for mentions of pro-narcissus scents, since I don’t know whether I have any. Did have a sample of Carat, but it’s gone. and Iris Poudre is always nice no matter the theme

Sampling various things from Strangers Parfumerie today. Waiting for the rain — I’ll go for a walk this afternoon since the rest of the week is supposed to be rainy. Went hiking in a nearby state park on Monday — lots of spring wildflowers out! I think my favorite was the Nuttall’s Larkspur, deep deep purple.

Wearing some 4160 Tuesdays “Who Knew?” Also broke out the Ortigia Ambra Nera hand cream, which is nice but might be clashing a bit with the 4160. Once there’s more than one person in the back office I might have to be sneaky, I mean subtle and just wear hand cream…
How are those hand creams otherwise? I am always tempted by Ortigia.

Kinda went on a wfh shopping spree on Monday. Bought the Necessaire body oil, among other things. Hoping it is the post-shower body hydrator miracle I want it to be.

I felt like wearing fig today and chose Flagrant Délice which has the particularity of having almond and what reads to me as mint but perhaps it’s the effect of fig leaf.
Tonight I’ve switched to I Profumi di Firenze Asli, a floral oriental with beautiful citrus.

Yes, it is a pretty scent (not catalogued on Fragrantica), IPdF does citrus in particular very well.
The Essential Perfumes discovery set is next on the list for me, wearing Divine Vanille and Fig Infusion today. DV is a straight forward, chewy vanilla. The incense is more of a toasted note — like a plain toasted waffle — than smoke or incense. Maybe some cinnamon if I look for it, but it doesn’t jump out (which is good for me).
As for FI, I seem to be anosmic to it. I’ve got about half of the sample sprayer on at this point and: nothing. I maybe get some tea and sandalwood, and if I hunt for it, maybe some fig pulp, but barely. So weird when this happens. Not that it happens a lot. But I wish I understood why *this* one and not *that* one.
Beautiful blue skies but it is chillier than it looks out. Kept cozy indoors with the last of my chocolate coconut tea.
I could barely smell fig in perfumes.

Continuing to rack up the points today with L’Artisan Mont de Narcisse. I have quite a few perfumes with narcissus and enjoy the note very much generally so this is an easy CP to participate in all week.
Have been meaning to comment about how much I enjoyed both Everything Everywhere All at Once and The Power of the Dog, which are very different movies but have both had me continuing to think about them since I saw them. We went to see Everything Everywhere at a theater on Friday afternoon, and it’s definitely a movie well suited to the big screen. But I’ll still rewatch at home when it comes to a streaming service. I watched The Power of the Dog by myself two Fridays ago before my boyfriend got back from his work trip because he didn’t really care about watching it. I told him afterwards that I wanted to watch it again with him, so we watched it on Saturday this past weekend. He did think it was quite good. The characters, performances, and the amazing score have stayed with me. And the storytelling, of course. Same for EEAaO, and in that case I’ll also give a shout out to costume design and stunt choreography. I laughed and was amazed throughout the movie then cried intensely at the end (but I’m definitely a movie crier in general).
Thanks for that movie report. I was sorry that none of the nominees from Power won Oscars. They were all so good. I’m glad to know about Everything and will look for it..
I agree about the actors from Power and Oscars but then I don’t put a ton of stock in the Oscars these days.
I’m looking forward to seeing Everything and am glad to hear it is as good as it seems to be. Agree that Power of the Dog was very good. After watching it, I watched Bright Star, one of Jane Campion’s earlier movies, and wow is that one good (no surprise — Ben Whishaw is always great).
I remember liking Bright Star well too but honestly don’t recall much of the specifics of it now since I watched it a year or so after it was released. TPotD does make me want to seek out more Campion.
Snacking on some after Easter discounted black jelly beans:). The black ones are the best. Commando but craving gourmand for whatever reason..must be the jellies. I was reading that Demeter had a perfume called Vinyl..lol sounds interesting but can’t find it lol.
The black jelly beans were my Dad’s favorite. Partly b/c we all hated them, so he had a candy stash all to himself. I grew into liking black licorice as an adult, though.
Bright and sunny today, with the temperature just barely edging over the 60 degree mark. And what did I end up doing? Laundry, of course. Now the heat has kicked on since temps are back into the 50’s. Both cats are glommed onto a different heat vent, enjoying the warmth.

I didn’t wear any perfume today because I knew it would be an emotionally hard day at work and didn’t want to taint any perfumes.
