French niche line By Kilian has launched Kologne Shield Of Protection, a new fragrance in the brand's The Fresh collection.
Founder Kilian Hennessy had been developing his own cologne for years, sparked by a desire to return to the roots and meaning of this unique genre of perfume. The result, an unique interpretation of Cologne which take you on an incredible sensory trip across freshness, intensity and time. Kologne, Shield of protection takes a classic out to party.
With luminous citrus notes throughout, Kologne, Shield of protection is a splash of freshness. The fragrance debuts with refreshing notes of green mandarin, bitter orange and mint leading into a heart of rosemary and neroli. A woodsy dry down is built around cedarwood, cashmeran and a unique “sap” accord of green vegetal notes. Created as a shield of protection, it is a fragrance to spray around oneself like an aura of purity and vitality.
Kilian Kologne was developed by perfumer Calice Becker, and can be found now at Holt Renfrew in Canada, in 50 ml for $322 CAD (about $250 USD).
Cologne with a K. Hmm lol. As far as the Kilian line..I haven’t been enthused about recent releases for a while. Too many discontinued goodies as well. I like a Kilian then poof..scratched. I think Noir Aphrodisique was the last one that got my interest and I think that one also got disco’d. Idk.
I have yet to buy a Kilian, though I’m tempted by a travel size of Apple Brandy. Will probably never be willing to pay for it though.
How is it even possible that a “return to the roots” cologne — meant to be splashed on with abandon, the entire point of classic cologne — is $250 USD for a 50-mL bottle? It should be $50 for a 250-mL bottle.
Seriously! I was just about to comment to say cool, a really expensive cologne… super unnecessary.
The K costs extra, as does the shield of protection.
I’ve already got Eau de Protection so I”m good!??
The title makes it sound like some kind of allegedly high-end deodorant!
Lol. Klinikal strength shield of protection for that shower fresh feeling all day.
I love and respect Ms. Becker’s work for Oscar de la Renta and Estee Lauder. I will say that the cologne with a “K” does not appeal to me. Also the name reminds me of Rossy de Palma and “Eau de Protection” and leaves me feeling that the name was already taken.
I am annoyed with myself for being so annoyed with the K.
The “K” annoys me as well, and I think the reason is The Kardashians have ruined the letter.
In Afrikaans the slang for eau de cologne is “olie kolonie”…I did chuckle a bit about the slang-ish Kologne…haha.
