It's Friday and National Grammar Day. Our community project for today: to mark Women's History Month, wear a perfume by your favorite female perfumer. (In 2018 we marked the occasion by wearing a fragrance by perfumer Germaine Cellier or Josephine Catapano.)
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I'm in D'Orsay Vouloir être ailleurs (formerly Tilleul) from perfumer Olivia Giacobetti.
Reminder: 3/11 is the two year anniversary of the day the WHO declared the Covid-19 pandemic. Wear whatever fragrance you think fits.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2022, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Good morning and TGIF!
Today I am wearing Daniela Andrier again but in Candy.
Currently waiting for my coffee to steep. Bean is kopi luwak.
Perfumer twin!?
Me three!
Let’s make it a perfumer quartet!
From the incomparable Sophia Grojsman, vintage EL Spellbound, a big, rounded floral oriental, not a sharp edge anywhere. I loved it the instant I smelled it — it pushed every button, as if it were custom-made for me. At least half a dozen of her creations have felt like that; it’s uncanny.
I can’t remember how Spellbound smells, it’s been many years since I tried it. Glad it’s tailor made for you!
Spellbound is beautiful. I love it also and the name is just perfect. You smell great!
Oh thank you for this – I had no idea until today that she had done so many perfumes for EL, thought YSL was her main one, this is very good to know!
Wearing just a spritz of Zoologist Hummingbird by Shelley Waddington while I attempt to get to the soap store again today. And I’m headed to the chocolate shop and ending up at my favorite thrift store. Yesterday I went to the grocery store for the first time in over a year, even before foot surgery we’ve been doing grocery pick up. It felt weird but good, too, more normal even though I still wore a mask.
Your day sounds like so much fun! Enjoy your excursions, ringthing. ?
I enjoyed a year of not shopping, but it is nice to pick out your own food!
Happy Friyay!
Jada,where are you guuurl??
SOTD!

Perfumer Lauren Graham. This girl has talent,I love her way of doing business, and her careful approach to new products, although she does go bold with releases!Reine du Volcan!Night Call!Fabulous Human! And todays’ perfume, all solid,well-crafted perfumes.LoveLove.

Oh good, nice to find a new, decent brand.
Yes.She’s a standout.I’m superproud that she is proudly ?? as well,I always love reading about the love you guys have for the indie perfumers like Laurie Erickson,Shelley Waddington,Mandy Aftel,DSH perfumes…Good to have a local representative of that calibre!
I hope these ship internationally one day. I looked at the website and they all sound good. Enjoy your weekend!
Happy weekend Kanuka!
I’ve been pushing the international agenda with Wick for quite some time, haha!I’ve told her about the interest here!(Not afilliated, just to be clear, just a happily paying customer!)
That sounds lovely! I hope we can get these in the US eventually.
I hope so as well!??✌?❣️??
SOTD in Love, Chloé from Louise Turner and Nathalie Gracia-Cetto.
Happy Friday ?
I did like that one 🙂
It wasn’t love at first sniff, but with time it really grew on me.
By time it grew on me it had unfortunately become unavailable. ☹
I might be able to help you out with that lillyjo, if you are still looking for Love, Chloe. I have a rollerball in my stash…
Exultat from Maria Candide Gentile for me today
Ah, you smell great today!
I’m in Jo Malone Wild Bluebell, by Christine Nagel, because that was the sample that I pulled from my stash of almost gone decants and samples. Pretty enough.
Pretty enough is a perfect description of Wild Bluebell.
I chose Colorado by Dawn Spencer Hurwitz. It’s due to warm up tomorrow but still cold today. This one smells just like its name.
We are supposed to be in the 70s on Sunday…but I don’t care, I’m leaving town for warmer climes on Monday.
Naja by Vero Profumo today.
Good pick, I did all mainstream fragrance & flavor company perfumers this week and glad to see all the indies strongly represented here!
No scent. Sorry to everyone who replied to my previous post. I know I did not reply to you, but I think you are all great.
My mum, cat and I are still ok. Although I must admit I am scared.
On the bright side, there are a lot of good people. A few days ago our gas heater stopped working, so we remained without heating and hot water. I called a repair man. Not only he refused to take any money but also said that if we need any help (like groceries), we should give him a call. ❤
Thank God for good people!
Sending my prayers Glannys.
Echoing lillyjo. Stay safe!
There still are good people out there Glannys.Sending hugs and I hope this disaster ends soon.
Online/In-the-street protests are stil going strong in South Africa, even if our goverment doesn’t have the balls to take an actual stand.
Mia Melange is making fabulous baskets weaved in the ?? colors, the proceeds are going towards relief aid 100%.My favorite swimshort maker also made cool t’s stating “F*K WAR” with your flag, and mine is on it’s way.

It is ok. I did asterisk the profanity in your prior post, which is completely ridiculous of me but there you are 🙂
And here we are,and I love you for it!?❣️✌?
Thanks so much. We need all kind of help. I appreicate all charities.
I wish we could do more Glannys, but if you need to talk and are able to,please say HI here at NST as often as possible!!XO’s
I’m glad you and your immediate family are ok.
You all are in our thoughts. Stay safe Glannys!
❤️❤️❤️
Sending love and peace to you and all Ukrainians.
I love to hear about those little bright spots – good people stepping up. I am continuing to pray for all of you in Ukraine.
Happy to know you are okay! Thanks for posting. ??
Happy to hear you are okay, how wonderful about the repair man.
Sending you thoughts and prayers Glannys , so glad to hear you and your mum and cat are ok.
Thank you for the update Glannys. My local candle company is selling candles colored for your flag and simply labeled Ukraine. The owner is Ukrainian and she’s sending profits from to a Ukrainian organization. They’ve been stunned by the response and are working round the clock to fulfill orders. Please know so many folks are thinking of you.
Glad to hear people care and are trying to help. Thank you!
It’s so good to hear you’re okay, Glannys. Stay strong.
Glannys, your post made me tear up. So glad you are well.
Be safe Glannys!
please stay safe.
Sending virtual hugs, I’m sure you’re very courageous.
Thank you, but I cannot accept this compliment. I am a coward. I stay because I feel there is nowhere safe to go (especially with a pet).
I’m very glad to hear you’re OK, the images coming out of Ukraine are dreadful.
We are so far away from you but Ukraine is in our thoughts here in NZ . Your strength is incredible.
Echoing everyone’s stay safe wishes and virtual hugs. We are all with you in spirit. ?
Adding my hugs and prayers, Glannys.
Keeping you and all of Ukraine in my thoughts and prayers Glannys.
Thanks for your touching update, Glannys. I’m sending you lots of strength! Stay safe!
My heart is with all of you in Ukraine and I hope this ends soon.
Granny’s, here’s to hoping that all good people will rally to your side. ????
Thanks for posting!
Glannys
Wow! Glad you and your mom and your cat are doing okay. There are still good people on this earth
Adding my prayers ?♥️??
For Glannys and all the good people.
SOTMoment is Costes, composed by Olivia Giacobetti. Our home repair/paint project wrapped up yesterday, at long last, so much of today will be filled with putting things back where they belong. It’s amazing how soul-satisfying it is to have things in order — my brain unkinked a little just having the coffee maker back where it belongs! Post shower I will probably spritz Philosykos, also by Giacobetti, and enjoy the lack of contractors and drop-cloths. ?
Enjoy! That has to be a good feeling!
Oh my god, so good!
Yay!!! I love that feeling too, plus you smell great and we are perfumer twins 🙂
Hi twin! I’ve had trouble with the small number of linden scents I’ve sampled, and should probably give your SOTD a whirl, along with Pretty Machine.
Grand Chalet is lovely too, but possibly you just don’t like linden.
Congrats on being done! And enjoy your house this weekend!
Hooray, it’s done!
W00t w00t w00t for being done with the painting!
Congratulations!!
I’m in Prada Un Chant D’Amour by perfumer Daniela (Roche) Andrier. This one falls into the category smells like fancy soap. I really like it but wish it lasted longer, I did do 8 sprays today so we shall see. Also wish the price tag was about a third of what it is. That’s what decants are for.
Watched the season finale of Schitt’s Creek last night and it was a tear jerker.? I fell in love with all those quirky characters and I’m really going to miss them. We started bingeing the series when my college girl was home over winter break. It’s one of those series that I’m guessing I will watch again. It’s just so good. Also fell in love with their message of family, friends and love, because really at the end of the day that’s what it all comes down to, isn’t it?❤️
Yes to your last sentence–for sure!
I watched it twice!
Me too!
I’m in Theorema (Christine Nagel). Although it’s one of my favorite perfumes, I wouldn’t say that Christine is my favorite nose. That’s okay–it’s Friday, I just finished an incredible yoga class and I’m planning to bake Smitten Kitchen’s carrot “cake” (as a breakfast bread–I cut the sugar a bit and include some whole wheat flour) which I’m sure I have posted about before. So delicious.
https://smittenkitchen.com/2014/10/carrot-cake-with-cider-and-olive-oil/
I ❤️ Smitten Kitchen
Me too, LizzieB! Her banana bread recipes are fab.
Well, okay … I just spent an hour or so on the Smitten Kitchen site, lemming absolutely everything, and now I have to (a) find my loaf pans, (b) buy a food processor, and (c) convince Mr. G to cede some kitchen time to me (he’s the chef around here). Who said retirement would be boring? ?
😀
I love her stuff, but rarely bake, so haven’t used many of her cake / baking recipes. The ones I have used have been good, though! Her mains are also very good.
Yes, we like her mains and other dishes also. NYT food and Smitten Kitchen are my top two online meal idea/recipe sources!
Friday, yay!
End of first week of new project.
SOTD is MM Petra by Cécile Zarokian.
Would love to hear your thoughts on Petra. I recently received a sample of Madeleine and find it really interesting. I’d like to explore Masque Milano a bit more.
I like Petra a lot. While it doesn’t smell like Petra to me, I love incense. This is not a dark, heavy incense, but rather bone dry like hot sun on rock. Maybe that’s her Petra.
Its’ light and actually has a bit of citrus freshness at the opening.
The sillage is about normal and longevity is good for 10 hours.
it will shapeshift into leather.
the bottle is beautiful, I would add.
Thx!
Hope it is a good project for you and that you can celebrate this weekend!
Good morning NST!
I’m about to go for a walk but later I will be wearing the amazing Opardu, created by Annie Buzantian.
We’re expecting temperatures in the mid 70s and magnolias are in full bloom.
Normally my heart would be singing, but, considering the broad context, it is far from doing so.
Undina, if you’re reading this, please know that I’ve been thinking about you and your family and friends in Ukraine.
Same goes for Victoria at BdJ.
Wishing everyone a peaceful weekend!
It is very hard to feel light-hearted at the moment. At times like this I sort of can’t believe I am blogging about perfume; my only feeling is that people do need a break (assuming they can get one) at times like these more than ever. Feeble excuse…
Robin, keeping this blog going is a service to our small community of perfume lovers and we thank you for it. ❤️
Second this.
agree.
Oh yes, I feel the same about it.
Me too!
Oh, yes, people definitely need a place to share their joys. And even more so when other parts of live have gone sideways. I’m grateful to you and this community!
Thanks everyone, I didn’t mean to be asking for sympathy…it is hard for everyone I’m sure, to go about your daily activities while frantically checking the latest headlines.
I keep re-reading Glannys’ post, and I cannot help but tear up myself.
BUT we NEED this blog,as a tiny beacon of light during all these horrible times. At least,we still have perfume. And NST.
❣️?????✌?
Robin, when times are dark, things of beauty and joy are even more precious. And this blog falls into those categories.
It’s hardly a feeble excuse, Robin, but rather a positive way to stay strong by savoring each moment of that which gives us joy each day, as we are made fully aware of the preciousness of life by the innocents in danger of losing theirs. Thank you for this beautiful place. ?
Playing along in Poudre de Musc Intense by Patricia de Nicolaï today.
Had a fun exchange with a waiter last night. 35K people lost power around Oakland in the evening yesterday, so my husband and met at a nearby restaurant for dinner. Our very cute waiter gasped audibly and demanded to know what perfume I was wearing. (You know I loved it!) Turns out he had worked in a perfume shop in Alaska before moving to CA. We got to chatting (of course!) and I introduced him to Sonoma Scent Studio (my Champagne de Bois was still going strong) and also told him about Mandy Aftel’s Archive of Curious Scents. 🙂 🙂 🙂 !
And, I am repeating my offer 🙂 :
Last week, I purchased a bottle of 30 year old L’air du Temps edt. It is a large bottle and I am no aficionado of this perfume. I want to offer up to ten, 5 ml decants to NST regulars based CONUS. The deal is you have to swap me back 5 mls (less is okay too) of a perfume you love (but not one of those, ‘it doesn’t work for me but others love it.’ For this swap, you have to love and wear the perfume you send me!) If you are interested, email me your name and address, and NST handle 🙂 ). I am: ann dottie eisenberg attagirl comcast dottie net
What a delightful conversation that must have been! Good job telling him about SSS and Mandy’s amazing museum. I hope you have your power on again by now. ?
Dear perfume people, today I am wearing THREE favourite perfumes by three wonderful noses: began in a cloud of Youth Dew (old bottle, Josephine Catapano, for my dearest aunt), have just put on Paris (treasured bottle from my teens, Sophia Grojsman, for my wonderful mother) and tonight I will wear Fracas (new bottle, Germaine Cellier) erm, for myself… ☺️
Wonderful choices and multiple CP points! Love the connection with your aunt and mother.
Thank you springpansy! They are two extraordinary women and to have them in my life is a great source of joy. And as for the evening perfume plan, I added only a tiny drop of Fracas as both of the other perfumes have not faded in the slightest ?
Three heavy hitters for you today! Wow!
I’m wearing Nars Audacious by Olivia Giacobetti. Lots of rain and not much sleep last night. Today I am going to pull out my boxes of backup bottles and see what I can sell. They’ve been down in the basement for years and will never be used. Time to get real.
Ack, completely forgot she did that one, and now I can’t even remember reading anything about it after it launched, although I must have. Is it great?
It is immediately recognizable as a Giacobetti, and reminds me a lot of her own work for IUNX. More of an ethereal scent, as is her style.
Thanks! I need to remember to look for it this year.
Hope you will have a restorative night, and that’s a great project about not needed back-up bottles.
Thank you, I hope so too!
Good luck with the BUB reduction project!
As an instinctive hoarder, it will be difficult…
I forgot about project and am wearing Ostara today, to inject some spring sunshine into a drizzly grey day.
Just as important as cp points ?
I’m in White Linen by Sophia Grosjman, from a very cute mini.
No! Really? That’s one of hers? I love that perfume! I hope you feel wonderful today!
It’s a chilly day but a sunny one today. Woke up in Hedonist and currently in Deneuve. Looking forward to having 2 days off after today.
Yay for a free weekend!
The two women perfumers who come to mind for me are Patricia Nicolai and Laurie Erickson of SSS. They created some of my favorite scents. The kind I would likely bring to that desert island.
But…today is a Christine Nagel day for me. I was looking for my little bottle of Twilly when a sample of Galop caught my eye. So Galop it is. I’d buy this. It’s a good one. She also created Gourmand Coquin, which is delicious,
Enjoyed seeing Drive My Car. And am thankful for theaters with recliners, because it comes in at a short 2 hrs 59 minutes. It never dragged for me. Filmed beautifully and a scene toward the end is simply lovely. I wish I’d been a bit more familiar with Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya. (My favorite 3 hour film remains A Hidden Life by Malick – a movie that made me break down crying in the lobby after.)
I feel like I have lost my desire to go to the movies entirely…I don’t think I could sit through a 3 hour movie anymore. Too used to watching everything at home now, where I can pause at will?
But that movie does look wonderful, hope to see it.
(And for anyone else curious, it is streaming on HBO Max)
Me neither, can’t be bothered to go out to a theatre.
It was Sophia Grojsman or Laurie Erickson for me today, and the Grojsman was on a lower shelf so I’m wearing Yvresse. Such a nice, bubbly thing without being too sweet.
Perfect!
I was so tempted to go with Safran Troublant – I pretty much love everything Olivia Giacobetti has done. Instead, I went with Mona di Orio Vanille. It’s boozy and spicy and oddball, which is perfect for a cold and sunny day. Mona di Orio is a great one to celebrate, imo. Who knows how magnificent her catalog would be if she was still with us?
I’m loving reading about what everyone else is wearing. This is another great SOTD challenge.
Oh,I have a couple of Mona’s originals that I absolutely adore!!
Kudos to Daniela Andrier for composing Prada Infusion d’Homme that I’m wearing today.
Must have brought back good memories!
Wearing a spritz of PdN Baikal Leather, which has this late winter/early spring, crocuses popping out of the last of the snow feeling.
Nice to see PdN so well represented this week 🙂
I’m in Diptyque Philosykos by Olivia Giacobetti.
We’ve been in Nashville since the beginning of January, but now it time to head back into Illinois. Gotta pack. (Boo!) And too bad, because spring is moving in here, and it’s lovely.
I’m in Illinois, too, and Spring is on the way here, too. All our snow has melted, temps up to near 70 tomorrow, my snowdrops are up and other bulbs are just beginning to push through, and the Cardinals are ? away. Welcome back!
I’m CP compliant in the very vanilla Ouis Plus! by Terri Bozzo.
Happy Friday, all!
Have not heard of it but I’m sure you smell wonderful! Plus, of course, vanilla.
This was a great CP – I have been loving reading about everyone’s choices all week. I went with Saturday and Sunday today (one on each wrist) by Cecile Hua for Arielle Shoshana. I imagine AS was heavily involved in the process, so it felt like a double whammy.
Drinking a pu’er today. All of my tea pot strainers were in the dishwasher this morning, so I put the leaves directly in the pot and am letting them stay in there. I know it is just asking for stewed tea, but eh.
Finished watching Someone, Somewhere on HBO last night and I highly recommend it, especially for anyone who likes Better Things. Same vibe of realistic (and imperfect) characters portrayed in a way that respects their humanity. This has more straightforward, linear narrative than BT’s somewhat experimental structure.
Double points, why not?
Wearing Goutal’s Heure Exquise (Isabelle Doyen). Irisy, sandalwoody goodness.
You smell great.
I recently found my bottle of the EDP. The box was signed by Isabelle Doyen when she was in NY a few years back.
Oooooooooooooooooooooh, NICE!
I had decided on Trésor for the CP but wasn’t in the mood so instead I’m still compliant in vintage Jolie Madame.
Tresor, whether vintage or not, requires a certain frame of mind for me too.
It can be overwhelming ?
I went vintage Zen EdC from Catapano. I dont have a favorite female perfumer, but this scent reminds me of the mid-eighties, when i wore it. I also had Feminité du Bois, but i liked Zen better.
I think today will be PdN’s Maharanih Intense, I’m still finishing breakfast post-shower and there’s always the possibility that I’ll change my mind.
Thank you for the best wishes for our cat. Phaedra is doing well after surgery, but not pleased with the world. Everytime she shakes her head vigourously, she falls over, she has a protective collar over her shoulders (looks like a little cape), and we have to give her daily pills for two months. Yesterday’s effort was hideous for everyone, but we’ll get better at it 🙂
Oh dear, poor Phaedra. And poor you.
Wishing brighter days ahead for you and Phaedra. Sending her a kitty hug from my three ???.
Oh yuck! Having to pill a cat is up there with stepping on a Lego for unpleasant things in my book. Best of luck with the kitty meds! ?
Glad she’s on the mend.
I love your kittehs name.
Awww, good luck with the pills.
It’s Saturday and if I had a bespoke perfume it would be called, “Still in Bed”. But By the Fireplace -Marie Salamagne – is close enough.
Excellent!
It’s a sunny day & we’re supposed to get above 10C today, so it feels like spring! I also slept a full nine hours last night, and feel good this morning. I think I’ll walk downtown when I take my glasses in to be fixed, to soak up some sun and vitamin D. (Also looking forward to not having a giant spot in the middle of my vision in my 3-month old glasses.)
Prescriptives Calyx for me, by Sophia Grosjman.
You smell wonderful! So many of Grosjman’s scents remind me of my teen years: Calyx, White Linen, Exclamation. All so wonderful.
Oh, you smell great! That was on my list of candidates; its such a fun scent.
Hope you get your glasses fixed!
Calyx is a wonderful warm weather scent!
Amouge Lilac Love Woman from a sample. It is very pretty, and so chewy you could eat it. Getting some powdery vanilla donuts from it, not complaining about that at all. Might need to scrub in a bit though, since it is very thick and maybe a little overpowering in this weather. Think it would be better in the very cold. I do feel a bit smothered by thick scents. Beautiful, but thick.
Would buy Guerlain Terracotta before this. In fact, probably going to take myself over to Surrender to Chance for a little happy friday decant shopping.
Terracotta is nice to have 🙂
I’m in Olivia Giacobetti’s Safran Troublant. I don’t think I can pick one favorite female perfumer, but Giacobetti would be up there on the list for sure. I will sample her Audacious again in the next day or two as well. I’ve only tried it once and recently someone on Instagram mentioned a banana note, which I didn’t pick up! So I’ll give it another sniff.
Speaking of bananas…. I had to run an onerous errand this morning, but it brought me close to a bakery famous for its fresh banana cake. I had to grab a slice of course. Pixel might know this place, it’s near her neck of the woods. I’m very much looking forward to digging in later this afternoon!
Happy Friday to all.
I kept eyeing pastries but have resisted so far…as I contemplate eating a scoop of ice cream as I have several pints…
I don’t know that I have one single favorite either, but she was one of the first I started to “follow”…that is, try to test whatever she made.
I’m wearing Salome this morning, I think Liz Moores is a genius. On my walk this morning, I saw a little sea turtle in the canal. He was sunning himself a bit and then dove down to cool off.
Smelling fab. I guess she has no plans to create any additional perfumes for awhile after the release of Hera. Makes me sad, but I understand. ?
What the — I must have missed the news!
Yeah, on FB she said she would take a break for a while after Hera is released May 17th. I think it’s a fine idea.
I’m CP compliant, wearing Les Infusions de Prada – Amande from my tiny 8 ml splash.
We are still working on cleaning up, today is office day. Jeez, when did we get like this? SO. MUCH. PAPER. I’m going through the folders and boxes upstairs; hubby is shredding downstairs. Plus I’ve asked him about all the cables and wires that are in totes in the closet; he wasn’t ready to talk about those things yet. I’m sure they are defunct and out of date now or else they’d be attached to something electronic. I’ll leave those for another day.
Happy Friday everyone!
Paper is my worst problem. Boxes and drawers filled!
It’s nuts. So far there’s 4 garbage bags filled. I think we are nearly over the paper hump. This doesn’t include all the recycling in the giant blue bin. I keep thinking if we get hit by a bus or something..
Good for you on making a dent in your clutter! It didn’t accumulate in one day, so it won’t take just one day to get rid of it.
Thank you! It feels better but there’s a long way to go.
Hang in there! Slow and steady wins this slog!
Woo hoo! I have way way more to go but I try to keep going!
It’s pretty satisfying. Most stuff so far seems to be hidden away but once you open a drawer or closet then it’s chaos. I thought we were pretty good purgers before but there’s still too much.
Good luck with your cleanup!
I’ve never paid much attention to individual perfumers, so reading about the female perfumers for this week’s cp was an interesting learning experience for me. And what I learned was that although I have no one ‘favorite’ female perfumer, many of my favorite scents were created by women. So I will try to choose a fragrance from a female perfumer for each of this month’s cp’s.
My SOTD is Trussardi Skin (Anne Flipo), my favorite Spring skin scent. It’s soft and a little citrusy, a little green, and a little woody (I don’t smell the jasmine/LOTV/rose mid notes). It’s like a walk in the early morning dew through a warm damp forest with perhaps a few scattered wildflowers peeking through the ground and the sun just coming up. Although some say cedar smells like hamster cage or pencil shavings, it’s a favorite note of mine and I love it in this scent. The modern yellow/green columnar bottle is also gorgeous! Long d/c and expensive if you can even find it, my bottle is almost empty and I will really miss it when it’s gone.
We’re on the cusp of Spring here, soon to be the yellow and green of that beautiful bottle, and I cling to its promise of a tiny bit of much-needed hope as I pray for peace. ☮️ to all this weekend!
Beautifully written!
2nd that!
Thanks for another spot of beauty in my day Laila.
SOTD = 4160Tuesdays Mother Nature’s Naughty Daughters EDP
Nice! Fruity amber and floral vanilla!

I did a mini summer Friday today and wanted to catch the express train right before the one I usually take so I had a little bit of time. I browsed around the Japanese bookstore Kinokuniya and just realized how many kitten-related stuff it carries! Amazing! I restrained myself.
I missed a delivery of something I was eagerly anticipating. I’ll have to figure out how I can redeem myself. Trying not to be angry but I fail to understand why this one required my signature when I have ordered more $sand those did not require one.
Argh! Sorry to hear about the missed delivery. What a PITA.
It is but I was able to decipher where the package landed so I will pick it up tomorrow.
Oh good!
I can’t wait!
Awesome! It must be something wonderful.
Glad to hear that recovery is going to be something simple!
Great scent choice! Signature packages are a pain. I loved Kinokuniya in SF!
Ended up commando today because I thought I’d be able to stop by Cloon Keen for some more sampling, but that didn’t work out. Maybe a spritz of Hiris for sleeping.
I did wear Winter Palace yesterday. Mr. Skal and I went out for a very wonderful meal to celebrate 20 years as a couple. He loves WP on me as I much as I love wearing it.
Tell us more about sampling at Cloon Keen, please!
Happy anniversary!
Congrats on 20 years!
Happy Anniversary!
20 years, woo hoo!
Congratulations on your 20th Anniversary! ✨????
Happy anniversary!
GIVEAWAY FREEBIE:
For regular NST commenters only, I’ve got an Otherland Alpine Crystal candle to giveaway to the first person to call dibs here. It’s been burned twice but there’s still plenty left. Notes listed are Juniper Sprig, Icy Tonic, Lemon Fizz. It’s very strongly scented with enormous throw, and I liken it to a glacial fresh and soapy scent, almost an Irish Spring soap even though it’s been awhile since I’ve smelled that. US only please.
I’m planning to list some perfume freebies in the weekend poll btw.
I followed tannina’s lead from yesterday and am wearing L’air de Rien, which I think is a crown jewel from Lyn Harris. A beloved perfume for me. I haven’t smelled anything from her since her Miller Harris days, I don’t think anyway, but I also love her Figue Amere and Fleur du Matin for MH.
I wish she had distribution for her new brand!
Me too!
As near as I can tell, I don’t have a single favorite female perfumer. I have 5! Liz Zorn (Soivohle), Laurie Erickson (SSS), Camille Goutal, Isabelle Doyen, and Daniela Andrier. So I had am embarrassment of riches to choose from today.
SOTD = Gucci EdP, aka clear bottle, brown juice. Shoutout to SheriG for wearing this earlier in the week, and thus reminding me that I have a small, less-lethal bottle of it in my Perfume Wardrobe.
Crap. Stupid typo! Should be “an embarrassment of riches…”. And Spellcheck isn’t too smart either. Grumble! ?
Lucky you with the Gucci edp!
Thanks! I found it during one of my buying rampages from the perfume discounters.
I don’t have one favorite female perfumer either … if I wear their perfume, they’re my favorite ?
Hey I really like that train of thought!
Congratulations on that bottle! What a great scent.
Thank you! Glad I wore it before the weather got too warm. ?
Still wearing my new love, Musc Intense, by Patricia de Nicolai!
I have several favorite female perfumers, though. Dawn Spencer Hurwitz, Sarah McCartney, Liz Moores, Marie Salamagne, Sophia Grojsman, several others.
Nice list!
Hey all! I’m wearing Cuir de Lancome by Calice Becker and Pauline Zanoni. Some days it’s too much for me, but today I sprayed heavily and I’m barely smelling it on me! I hope nothing’s wrong with my sniffer.
I had a really uninspired dinner of scrambled eggs tonight. I need to incorporate more vegetables in my diet, and I’m thinking of getting more frozen ones since the fresh ones often go bad before I can finish them. At least then I could add some spinach to my eggs! Does anyone have any other ideas for using frozen veg?
Stir-fry
Soup
Vegetable korma
Smoothies
I add frozen veg to almost every meal, sometimes just to eat as a side. Keeps me away from the potatoes!
Frozen veggie mixes can be used as a topping for baked potatoes. They are also good for making canned soups a little more home style-ish.
I’m almost always add spinach and mushrooms to my morning omelette. I love eggs, but use egg beaters because of cholesterol reasons. It’s easy peasy to add peppers, onions, or just about any veg to eggs.
I almost always add frozen veggies to any rice I have made.
I am into my air fryer. This one’s for you:

I also like spinach which I wash and microwave with rice or noodles (plus a protein which I usually prepare separately).
Thanks, looks yummy! How is an air fryer different from a toaster oven/convection oven?
I always have frozen peas on hand, they’re a great addition to pasta, rice, soup, some stews. Also an easy, tasty side. Frozen spinach is handy, too. It’s not really a vegetable, but I like to have frozen corn in my freezer as an easy side, or addition to chili, soups, etc. I usually have frozen mirepoix too, in case I’m in the mood to use it as a base for something. Frozen pearl onions are also great to add to soups and stews.
Seconding the pearl onions!
I like to buy the bags of mixed frozen peas and pearl onions.
Roasted beets, if you like them, are wonderful because you can make in reasonable quantities and they last for days, and then uncooked beets of course keep for ages so they’re easy to have on hand. Even on days when I don’t have a full scale salad, I have a little mix of beets & lettuce & grapefruit. Plus, easy enough to roast a few carrots while you’re doing the beets.
Not really what you asked but an easy way to get more veg in your diet.
We also buy those huge vats of baby spinach, cook it all, freeze some of it cooked. It comes out much better than the spinach you buy already frozen.
I use pickled or canned beets since fresh veggies always go off before I feel like eating them. 😉
Thanks for the ideas everyone! I have some experimenting to do :).
The last 2 days have been pretty stinko.
Today I wore Paris for the cp.
Wait are you off now or did I miss your day off?
I only have a floor to go but have to take the elevator. Anyway, I walked into an empty elevator that reeked of Angel. I swear it also contaminated my coat and scarf and hair.
My day off was yesterday.
I got my taxes done, so it wasn’t very relaxing.
I never smell Angel in the wild. It must really like ( or not like) you!?
Yike!
I’ve come across Angel in The Wild a few times. Last time was 2019 I think. But not in an enclosed space, ack!
Sorry lillyjo! Hope tomorrow is better.
Bummed out to hear that the last 2 days have stunk for you.
Hoping tomorrow is a better day for you!
