Hermès will launch Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée, a new flanker to 2006's Terre d'Hermès fragrance for men.
Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée, the heat of ice. A new Eau de Parfum, both fresh and intense.
Created by Christine Nagel, Hermès’ perfumer, Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée combines the vigour of citron and the incisive freshness of juniper berry with the power of Timut pepper. The striking sensation of an icy breeze is juxtaposed with the generosity of the woody, mineral notes characteristic of Terre d’Hermès.
Refillable and sustainable, the bottle combines glass with aluminium, two fully recyclable materials. As if cut from ice, the object is sleek and limpid. Frosted glass and brushed aluminium evoke the notion of frost covering the earth. The H on its base is a subtle reference to the ancestry of a now-cult object.
Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée explores a new territory where freshness and strength nourish each other.
"An icy cloak fertilises the earth, exalting it with new and vibrant strength." Christine Nagel, creative director of Hermès fragrances.
Hermès Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

I haven’t really enjoyed any of the TdH flankers but do love the original. Perhaps my brain is in rest mode after a two hour board meeting this morning, but I’m not even quite sure I understand what this new flanker is supposed to do. ??♂️
Same here!
I suspect what it’s supposed to do is be fresher, but other than that I have no idea.
Same here — though “frosted but not too frosted,” below, seems as good a guess as any I could venture.
I had to google the definition of limpid, which means clear. Frosted glass is not clear…
Frosted, but not TOO frosted, perhaps that is what they are going for?
But suspect it doesn’t matter 🙂
The only Terre flanker that stands up next to the original, in my opinion, is the parfum. The others don’t work for me, regardless of who made them (Ellena’s Eau Tres Fraiche is weird, plasticky citrus on my skin; Nagel’s Intense Vetiver is both dull and persistent, like a salesman with a quota.) I’ll be giving this one a sniff, of course – I am an utter tart for Hermés – but my hopes aren’t high.
“Dull and persistent, like a salesman with a quota” – the perfect simile. I hope you won’t mind my borrowing it when needed. 😉
It’s yours! 🙂
I agree about the parfum. It strikes me as warmer and more rounded than the original. I wanted so much to like Très Fraiche, but it feels shrill somehow on me. Likewise the Intense Vetiver, which felt scratchy where it might have been velvety. Perhaps someone who appreciates vetiver more than I do might have a different experience.
