Comme des Garcons Ganja ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 19 November 2021 8 Comments

Comme des Garçons has launched Ganja, a new fragrance.

Combining woody and herbaceous scents, GANJA promises us an escape and sensorial stimulation.

Imagined by the perfumer Caroline Dumur, the aim was to put two worlds in parallel: the urban world by the design of its bottle created by Rei Kawakubo and the extrasensory world by its woody, spicy and airy aroma.

The notes include black pepper, cumin, hemp accord, maté, lentisque, guaiac wood, olibanum and patchouli.

Comme des Garçons Ganja is available in 30 ml Eau de Parfum, £50.

From here that bottle looks like a can of spray paint, which is fun, but I could count on one hand the number of CdG scents that I actually *like*, and I’ve only ever liked one well enough to actually buy it (Carnation, because I find carnations irresistible). Their aesthetic mostly does not mesh well with mine.

It would take me more hands — maybe 3? But I have not liked many of the newer ones.

Maté note seems to be an a trend.
I dunno how I feel about it, but I am going to smell this, since it’s CdG..they always does something interesting, even if it’s not my personal ting.

        Mate note be on trend**
        I can’t make sense today ?

I like quite a lot of CdG perfumes. There’s a few that’s not my taste and some are just okay, but I can still appreciate them and see what the mood is for the fragrance..and I like that CdG always brings something interesting to the table, even for those that might be on the “safe” side ☺️

Not sure I want to smell like Ganga, but I’ll probably sniff this. I like CdG, and their weird aesthetic. (Different strokes…) I love Tar, Lily, and the whole Incense Series.

I like the way they change bottles to match the vibe of the scent. Few houses do that.
