Gallivant Naples ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 21 October 2021 7 Comments

London-based niche line Gallivant has launched Naples, the latest in their series of "urban exploration" fragrances.

A citrus, woody, incense perfume. Charming Neapolitan decadence. Salty sea air and smoke.

Fresh and spicy in the opening, with ginger, pink pepper CO2, bergamot from neighbouring Calabria, sea salts and airy ozonic notes.

A smoky heart with incense resinoid, fumencens (another incense material, which reinforces the light-dark contrast of this fragrance), cardamom, nutmeg, and labdanum.

And a woody base of guaiac wood, ‘green molecule’ clearwood (in combination with natural patchouli), birch, vetiver and amber.

Naples was developed by perfumer Luca Maffei.

Gallivant Naples is available in 30 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Yes! And the sea. And unfortunately, at times of garbage.

They sent me a sample last week and I tested it out last Thursday night. I ordered a 30ml bottle the next day – I was absolutely smitten by it! These woody citrus things are usually not my style, but it’s so beautifully balanced and natural smelling. I’d heartily recommend seeking out a sample. I will say though, the jury’s out on that new cap…

Very good to know, thanks BobH!

I did not like the old cap either. Would have to see the new one in person to decide if it’s an improvement.
