Happy Almost-Friday and happy Almost-October! (Don’t forget your rabbits tomorrow, and Donatella will be dropping by on Monday, so start adding up those receipts). What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm taking coffee points (and smelling delicious) in L’Artisan Parfumeur Noir Exquis. (I thought about wearing Valentino Uomo today and Noir Exquis tomorrow, but a quick spritz of the Valentino on a card convinced me I'd rather just wear Noir Exquis two days in a row. All of my other coffee fragrances have apparently gone into deep hiding.)
Reminder: 10/1 is International Coffee Day...wear a fragrance with a coffee note.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

I’m in the dregs of an evaporated decant of Five O’Clock Au Gingembre. Only the oily part was left, but I put it on anyway. Perfect for cooler weather. I love ginger in the fall. Unfortunately, today is not cool. Hot and humid in my part of Texas.
my neck of the woods is cool, in the 50’s this morning with that beautiful fall sun light
That’s such a perfect fall fragrance.
A pot of French pressed coffee with freshly ground beans.
SOTD Fragrance du Bois 5th Avenue
I love the vintage feel of this one, and the vanilla dry down
Gray short sleeve sweater today and some Chanel make up since SmokeyT and I have been talking about this line. Today I am doing one color from Blurry Mauve quad and mascara.
Started the book Matrix last night
I am 99% a pour-over coffee person, but I do wish I had a French press for when I want to occasionally switch it up. I know they’re easy enough to come by, just haven’t convinced myself it’s worth another kitchen gadget. 🙂
I have lots of coffee gadgets which is a lot when you are small apartment living. I find the French press is good for a change and when you have company over. I also have a small pot that makes Turkish coffee. This was a gift from my friend that went Greece and she brought me back this and some greek coffee.
My grande amore is my Dedica. A perfecto cup of espresso or cappuccino. Its slim enough that it doesn’t take up counter space and simple enough to work when I am very sleepy.
Ohhhh! Coffee! Now I want another cup of espresso! I have a variety of coffee makers too, pour-over, French Press, and a moka pot by Bialetti.
I love Blurry Mauve quad! Gorgeous colors!
I use to have a moka pot when I lived in the Bay Area. I left it on the stove for too long and I couldn’t correct the burnt flavor smoke/smell so I parted with it and bought a French press.
Thanks for inspiring me to dig out my Chanel makeup. Its been fun playing with these colors
OH, I need some good coffee right now….
I should use our French Press now and then. We do pour over but also have a small Nespresso and an Aeropress manual espresso tool. My husband misses our percolator.
I may need tk make myself an espresso now that I’m thinking about it…
I grind my own beans and two heaping coffee spoon measures in my french press makes a decent mug and a half of coffee. The same amount of beans used in my pour over cone doesn’t make the same amount – a mug only… I’m talking about the strength of the coffe
Oops… coffee. My other method is a stove top stainless steel percolator. It needs the most coffee of all methods but it’s so good and steaming hot! It also makes my place smell like a cafe!
Just a quick drop-in this morning! Saying hi to you all seemed better than reading the news. I’m *nearly* accidentally project compliant with Jacomo #8, chai tea instead of coffee.
However, I have taken to spicing my coffee every morning–with cinnamon and nutmeg in with the grounds most days, but sometimes turmeric or cardamom–and that’s kinda like coffee and chai combined together into a more perfect beverage. 🙂
Daring! I haven’t quite recovered from the rosewater latte I tried to make a while back…
I would think it is easy to overdo rosewater.
Oh, that sounds great! I’ve heard of people doing this, but I thought it was sprinkled on top of the coffee in the cup, which didn’t appeal to me. Adding it to the grounds seems so much smarter. I have all of the above except turmeric, so I’ll have try this tomorrow. Do you just randomly sprinkle, or do you measure the spices?
I just do a generous sprinkling in the filter with the grounds. I “cream” my coffee with a bunch of vanilla soymilk, so that helps cut things if I occasionally overdo the cinnamon.
I have been spicing my black tea more than I used to, and similar spices — nutmeg, cinnamon or cardamom, plus often cacao husks.
Ooh. Love the idea of adding cacao husks! Can you reuse those, or are they a one-off addition? I don’t know that I have access to a plentiful supply.
I don’t know if you can reuse them — I have been mixing directly into black tea leaves that I don’t want to reuse. But I should find out!
(I originally got hooked on this via an Upton black tea with added cacao husks. I have also tried using cacao nibs, but they don’t work as well in terms of getting flavor from steeping.)
Good to know. Thank you for the reply!
I’ve been doing the same…maybe it’s the coming of autumn that spices things up!
I think I started spicing my coffee occasionally this time last year, and it’s steadily become a more and more frequent choice. Now, I hardly want my coffee without them!
No coffee for me. Getting to the last of my big decant of Hermès Bel Ami, which alas I did not appreciate when it was new: so bitter up top (something I now love), then a floral chypre resting on soft well-worn leather. Beyond gorgeous.
I love Bel Ami with a deep passion. You smell just divine.
SheriG, I just love this sentence. A deep passion.
❤️❤️❤️
Good Morning, all!
I am in the first-application-of-the-fall of Cuir Fetiche. I applied just after a shower though, so it is already fading.
Inspired by Lovestosmellgood and the rest of you who actually wear things other than jeans, I am in a green linen dress with black leggings today. It feels so weird to wear something slightly nicer than I’ve worn for the past year and a half.
We are sort of opposites: I’m in the first sweatpants of fall, LOL…
I just donated 2 dresses because I don’t see myself wearing them ever again.
coffee, always coffee.
Rose 31 lotion and fragrance for another day at the company of many fragrances.
lost 12 pounds. YIPEEEEEE
wow! Congrats. How did you do that. I am still working off my vacation weight from over the summer
Congrats on the weight loss! 🙂
Congratulations! You lost them and I think I found them! Must be the French Toast..!?
How lovely, congrats!
Congratulations on your hard work…it’s not easy to reshape our habits.
Congrats!
Woohoo!!
Perfumed high-five for your success!
thank you, thank you!
I lost 35 pounds two years ago and looked and felt great. The first year of covid I maintained but these last months I think I ate my weight in goldfish crackers. Well I ate 17 pounds so 5 more to get off.
I use Nutrisytem cause it works for me.
Plus I start in very early at the house of many fragrances and my day is over early so I get on treadmill or bike. Or go for walk.
Wow! Well done with your weight loss journey!
Congrats!
Every now and then I crave a cup of coffee, but today is not that day. I am drinking a cup of spearmint tea and wearing Estee Lauder Private Collection.
Yesterday was my 32nd wedding anniversary. Private Collection is what I wore on our wedding day, all those years ago. I still love this scent.
Happy anniversary! I just found my mini of PC, it’s been hiding. You smell wonderful 🙂
Happy Anniversary! And Private Collection is marvelous!
Oh, happy anniversary to you and yours! ? ?
Happy Anniversary! ?
32 years makes you and your other half legendary! Congratulations ?
Congrats! what I lovely scent to pick for your big day
32 is amazing, congrats to you both!
Happy Anniversary, and you smell terrific.
Happy anniversary to you and your husband, it’s an added bonus that PC is not discontinued.
Congratulations, and how charming to still have and love your wedding scent.
Oh…that’s so sweet. 32 years…seems like a minute ago, doesn’t it? Congrats.
Congratulations! So nice to still love your weeding perfume.
WEDDING! Not weeding. 😀
But it might make yardwork better to weed in one’s wedding perfume!
Happy anniversary!
Happy anniversary!
Thanks everyone !
Happy anniversary!!
Congratulations! A 32-year anniversary is truly impressive!
Congratulations!
Amazing! Congratulations!
This blog is full of the nicest people, thanks all for your stress free wishes yesterday. My Shalimar cloud smelled so good yesterday! Back to coffee today with Zoologist Civet.
I hope all the wishes worked, ringthing!
You smell wonderful…Civet is inching up on the FB list…
Also in Estée Lauder today- after trying some of the new EL perfumes earlier this week I went back to my ancient bottle of White Linen and now I feel perfectly happy ?
What did you try?
Hello! Paradise Moon, which I really like- it’s described as a floral leather, but it’s a sweet, rounded honey-and-beeswax on me. Desert Eden, a woody floral, which is a pretty standard rose and sandalwood but very comfortable to wear, and Sensuous Stars, a fruity chypre but it gave me no chypre so I am not giving any stars to that one ?
Vintage White Linen is preposterously good — one of the first scents that made me realize it didn’t all have to be French and Italian houses. How lucky you are to have some!
Thank you! It’s a bottle I’ve had since my teens (over 20 years ago) and I am astonished at the good things my aunt and mother gave me as gifts, which I did wear at the time, but also tended to put aside and keep for a rainy day when the next new bottle arrived at Christmas and birthdays. They raised me well ?
Good to be smelling wonderful and perfectly happy!
Hi all, I’m wearing Estee Lauder’s Estee, vintage cologne (dabbed). I need something light as I’m still nauseous after my UCSF visit. Sipping on some chamomile tea.
Everyone have a marvelous day!
And thank you everyone, for the lovely well-wishes. You all are so kind. 🙂
Glad you are on the mend and enjoy your relaxing tea
So sorry of this sequel of the procedure, take it easy today.
Hope you feel better soon!
Chamomile tea is the best stuff! And you smell wonderful in Estee. Vintage or current, it is my desert island preescious…
Hope that your nausea departs ASAP!
Hello NST!!
I have been working SO hard lately I had no time to check NST. Today I have a day “off” but not really… Not with the amount of stuff I had to and still have to do… Ugh… Laundry, a huge pile of dishes is still waiting for me. Yuck. Not to mention paperwork about two inches thick I gotta fill out for my parents who do not speak english that well…
But great news is… I ordered a bottle of Swan Princess finally!! Why it took me so long since I dreamed about this bottle for so long? Because I got a deal on The Time or Cypress Shade etc. And Swan Princess is $180 and nowhere to be found cheaper. I deserve it though!!
Nice when you can get something you really want!
After laundry and paperwork and dishes, of course you deserve it!
?
Congratulations on the well-earned new bottle!
Dame Dark Horse. He sure does make some strange but good-smelling stuff!
I really feel like I should be drinking coffee throughout the morning and not just before work…
One of the reasons I prefer tea is the slower, longer drip of caffeine! I can easily drink 3 or 4 cups without getting wired, whereas 1 cup of coffee is usually my limit.
I’ll have coffee and a slice of fika, please! Or is fika both the coffee AND the slice of chocolate heaven? Either way, I’ll take it. Breakfast of Champions! ?
I’m wearing SB Incensed again. I have the 4ml travel size and have about a third left, so still lots of juice! I just love this one in cool, overcast weather! I probably will repurchase a 4ml again when this is gone. I don’t think they make anything in between that and a 100ml, but I haven’t been on their website in quite a while. Wishing for 10 or 15 ml sizes of every perfume known to mankind! Come on manufacturers, you can do it!
These dunes are no joke and I got quite the leg workout yesterday. While on the beach I was alerted by the dog to a pretty large, healthy looking coyote slipping through the brush. Only a momentary glimpse, but enough to realize he had probably been watching T-Rex run around like a fool on the beach and was sizing her up. She would be quite the Amuse-Bouche for him/her. When we have the beach to ourselves, I usually let her off lead to get some exercise and she often will go pretty far away as she explores. I’m usually not too concerned as long as I can see her and she responds to my recall. But, realized yesterday that Wylie Coyote could have run out of the brush, snapped her up, and that would be the end of my BFF. It was a good reality check and I will have to keep her closer to me in these types of areas.
We prudently walked away down the beach to carry on. On the trail back, I picked up a sturdy branch just in case. We had to walk quite a way over the dunes (my legs!), through beach grasses, dense shrubbery, and finally back to the camping area in the pines. We also saw a couple horseback riders, which I always love to see! Turned out to be a lovely day, weather wise as well.
Here is a view we had returning from the beach, looking east towards the Coastal Range.

Smell well and stay well! It’s almost Friday! ?
I got so nervous reading about T-rex and the coyote! Glad you guys stayed safe!
And… you made me think of this
https://youtu.be/69iB-xy0u4A
Lol.
*snort*?
Thanks! I really am pretty careful, and these little wake up calls are needed sometimes. It’s not a good idea to become lackadaisical in the wilderness. The doggo is a great alarm system. I would have completely missed it if I wasn’t watching her watch it. Honestly, I’m more worried about people than I am bears, cougars, and coyotes combined!
Be careful yourself around the coyotes, too! We’ve had quite the coyote year here, with Stanley Park having to be closed and then finally having to do a coyote cull because they were repeatedly attacking humans.
Not unheard of here, but very rare. They are very adaptable animals and inhabit urban areas quite stealthily. Anyway, I got the big stick for the hike back because I forgot my bear spray. Again. And to add insult to injury, I decided to take a twilight hike around a near-by lake, again forgetting my bear spray. Wised up about 1/4 mile into it and thought, “Maybe I’ll save this for tomorrow. And remember to bring my bear spray!” ?
Coyotes attacking people in Stanley Park?? Oh my.
What’s going on in Stanley Park, anyway? I wonder if it’s a learned behavior in the coyotes there..? That can happen to bear Cubs, if they see mama bear frequenting human populated areas, and associating people with food. I think they had to kill 3 or 4 grizzly yearlings here in the states this past year because of this.
It’s a learned behaviour due to humans feeding them / leaving behind food, apparently. 45 attacks since December: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/stanley-park-coyote-cull-1.6164627
Beautiful pic! Glad the coyote did pursue T-Rex.
My dearly departed cat Charlotte used to love to sun herself on my old balcony railing and I remember the day a crow dive bombed her. ehaehe I don’t think it really was trying to attack her…maybe just buzz her and start a fight? But my Charlotte did the guttural cat squawk right back, stood her ground and didn’t move an inch. She was one fearless sweetheart.?♥️
Well, bless her! She got the better of that crow. I’m glad she wasn’t injured though. T-Rex detests them (crows). Absolutely hates them.
I never let Mila off leash, she is so small she would make a quick snack for any coyote, cougar, bald eagle or other predator. Glad you and T-Rex are safe!
Thanks! Those littlebitties can become a snack pretty quick! And they’re just so fragile, structurally speaking.
Did *not* pursue T-Rex that is.
I knew what you meant, no worries! ?
How gorgeous!!
I had to google fika when I found the picture…it is apparently means a coffee break, often with friends and treats.
In DSH Cafe Noir for the CP.
Happy almost Friday! ☕
I was hoping someone would wear Café Noir! I had it years ago.
I still have few drops left. It is a nice scent, but I will not replace it once it is gone.
Was working past 11 PM last night, which is not something that is very effective now that I am post-50. Ah well, back at it this AM, needs must. I have an appt this afternoon to do something expensive to my greying and dry hair, so that should cheer me.
Wearing Prada’s Infusion Oeillet, or whatever it is called. So I smell cool at any rate.
Drinking an old stand by, Major Dickason’s blend, by Peet’s, with a wee teaspoon of Torani’s Pumpkin Pie syrup. It makes my coffee sweet, which is not terrible, and I feel like I am having something barista-made.
I hope you like your new hair!
Enjoy the hair treatment!
In a soothing spritz of Douceur de Siam. Just finished reading The Thursday Murder Club, possibly suggested by someone here, and it was a lot of fun.
You smell good!
Well yesterday I wore 4711 Coffee Bean & Vetyver. Today it’s Jo Malone’s turn, with Black Vetyver Cafe. Mighty similar to the 4711, down to the foofy ‘vetyver’ spelling.
Coffee bean and vetiver sounds like an interesting combo.
I have the same crisis of pretention whenever I write Bvlgari instead of Bulgari!
That’s funny, Oakland Fresca! But if they keep printing Bvlgari, than we should write it to!
You smell great! I have a bottle tucked away.
I’m in 7 virtues Santal Vanille again. Ready for it to be tomorrow because I’m going on a vacation!
Have a great vacation!
Thank you!
Nice…hope tomorrow gets here faster then.
Once I go to bed it will!
Smellin’ fine in Dior Tobacolor from a most generous NSTer.?
I have been avoiding my decant because it was so nuclear-frooty on me. How is it on you?
Tobacolor seemed to me like it should have been a Lutens fragrance, not Dior; it’s got that stewed-fruit thing going. I haven’t decided yet if I like it.
Yes, I totally agree. It lasted for 24+ hours on me. A bit scary.
I like it but don’t love it. It is quite fruity and has lots of honey to my nose and I generally don’t get along w/ honey in perfume.
You smell great! Tobacolor is great!!
This morning was spent in Lyric. Also a wild morning. The gas company came out today to remove a propane tank but there was no phone call, no knock at the door or phone call to let us know that they were coming. They backed over the septic system and we heard a Crack over something. My folks were furious over the situation since someone has to come out to check the septic system and see if it’s broken. Will be wearing Happy today and have tons of explaining to do when Donnatella comes around.
You need a little Happy today, but that Lyric smells soooooo good!
Oh no, hope they didn’t break something.
Not ready for a scent yet, need more coffee. Maybe I will just dab it behind my ears. Had a difficult conversation with family about visiting from Florida (they are not vaccinated). So hard to stay safe and live your life. No politics here….but family makes it all very personal. We will get past this, but what a struggle for now. Stay well everyone.
Passing you a coffee ☕️
I can sympathize with you.We have not seen any family members on my side of the family going on 2 years this fall..
Sorry about the family situation.
Blergh. Sorry. It is a story playing out across the country. I hope we all can heal from this soon.
Yuck. Sorry to hear about the family drama.
Oy, jepster! So sorry about the drama. I hope they do not get offended if you choose to wear your mask and find outdoor places to dine. It is so selfish of your family to impose this on you.
Wearing Jai Ose, a lovely oakmossy leather that I never would have known about except for NST. Smells very 1970s to me, like a dryer, far less fruity Halston. It has a little bit of that funk.
Ohh! I’m sure you are smelling wonderful! It’s one of my favourites and one I don’t run across on anyone.
Sitting here thinking of all the things I should be doing in preparation for a move. My husband of two and a half years and I have bought our first together home. It is an exciting time for both of us! I knew we were a match when I discovered he had a drawer full of fragrances of his own! It was meant to be!
Getting happy feelings for you! We are approaching 36 years of marriage and 26 years in our first, and last we hope, house! Hope you find all in good order – we had almost two years of care-free living, then the expected basic repairs for an older home, but it all works out!
I was trying to be nice to a co-worker whose son just bought a house in these here parts. It is stuck in the 70s vibe so I said it was quaint ?. The kitchen looks like it was recently remodeled but it needs to be ripped up and redone – who in the world would put a 4 burner oven next to a wall? And the cabinets do not have any knobs or hardware handles, just hidden cut outs that would drive me nuts. There is zero flow.
Oh this is lovely. Congratulations!
Vintage lemming is born! Need to pull out my Halston to tide me over! I am *sure* you smell wonderful.
The good thing is that it can be found for cheap at fragrance discounters, and seems to still be in good shape in the modern version.
Good morning everyone ? still wearing Diptyque Kyoto layered over Tam Dao ❤️
Is Kyoto good on its own?
Yes!
Had my second physiotherapy appointment today, still some way to go for the wrist to be back to normal.
It’s raining and I was in oldish but not vintage Cristalle edt, very cheery on this grey but not cold day. This evening I switched to Laura Mercier Eau Gourmande Vanillé, when I purchased it I also tried her Ambre Vanille but that didn’t please me as much, sometimes coconut is a distraction.
One of my all time favorite vanilla perfumes. I agree about Ambre, it’s nice at first, then it starts to irritate me.
Oh, yes Lillyjo I sure I’m glad I didn’t blind buy the ambre and Vanillé is really an enchanting vanilla to join my small collection of that note.
Glad to hear that you are getting PT for your wrist.
Thank you Jalapeno, the daily exercises are not exactly fun but necessary
Definitely necessary! My Mom had 2 successful bouts of PT. One was in her 50’s, when she broke a bone in her arm. The other was in her late 80’s, for a stroke. I’ve seen the benefits of it!
Trying to think of an “orange” scent for today — though perhaps scentless is the way to go. Today is the 8th annual Orange Shirt Day and the very first Canadian National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, soon to be statutory, acknowledging the painful and shameful past and present of our country’s treatment of Indigenous Canadians, and especially our residential school system. Radar ground surveys in 2021 have found almost a thousand unreported children’s bodies on the grounds of these former schools so far. Good to see so very many of Toronto’s school children in orange today. Sorry to bring an OT topic to a fragrance board and International Coffee Day! But on my mind today…
Is it not a stat there yet? It is here out on the West Coast; my family is all off today. So we did our orange shirt wearing yesterday, and watched a videos and thought a lot about reconciliation and what it means. Our travelling this summer was in province, up to Haida Gwaii and northern Vancouver Island, and we learned a ton about the First Nations up there and the residential schools. What a beautiful cultural heritage; it’s hard to believe anyone wanted to erase it.
But — orange scent — what a great idea! I will switch later today to one.
I am also in Toronto observing the day. There is plenty of activity in the city with ceremonies and gatherings, and lots of orange everywhere. What has happened here in Canada has the US also investigating their history: https://www.cbc.ca/radio/asithappens/residential-schools-us-boarding-schools-investigation-remains-1.6078723
Thank you for that link…Haaland made that announcement in June and I completely missed it despite reading the news every day.
I am twins with pl67 today in DSH Cafe Noir. Another night of long, deep sleep (9 hours!) but I think I have an inner ear infection because my balance is way off and my left ear feels “full.” Staying home today because walking around seems like a bad idea. I have two coffee scents left in the cabinet for tomorrow, but I have no idea which I will wear. It’s fun to be spoiled for choice.
Yay for choice; I think Fall pollens are affecting my ears…
Oh dear, hope that clears! (And pollen is really bad here too.)
L’Artisan Vanille Absolument (Havana Vanille?) because I needed quiet today.
Got a booster vaccine shot late yesterday afternoon. Restless sleep – no fever or chills or anything. But…the body aches showed up around 10 am. I vacuumed, which sapped some energy. Back hurts, but I don’t want to take anything to interfere with my body’s response. I must say that they seem pretty willing here to do boosters if you want. No questions asked. It might help that I have some gray hairs. I mostly wanted my husband to get one, but they were happy to give me one too.
Yay for your booster! DH got his, being older, and it was a walk-up deal at Wally World, after Kroger Pharmacy and the in-store Clinic told us we needed an appointment. Plus we both got our flu shots, too. My age group will probably open up for the booster next month, here’s hoping. He had only mild pain in the arm, but did mention a bad night’s sleep which I did not think might have been because of the shot. Thanks for mentioning that!
“Wally World” — chortle. ??
Glad to hear you got your booster LizzieB!
Coming to things late today, since it’s a new holiday here (as Erin mentioned above). I’m in Bulgari Black — seemed like a good scent for a cloudy, rainy day.
Thanks for all the good wishes yesterday, on my first day back in the office. Overall, it was pretty low stress — my colleague and I were the only ones on the floor. My badge had expired and I had to get a new one, though. The hardest part was riding the train in — it was only three stops, and much less crowded than it used to be, but still crowded enough that you couldn’t maintain proper distance. But…everyone was masked, and so far so good.
Oh good, glad the commute and the office time worked out.
And you smell great, I do love BB!
I’m sure I must have something with a coffee note, but need to think about that. Today I have a sudden urge for Fille en Aiguilles, someone mentioned it here recently, I think.
I have way less than I used to!
Scent of the morning for a (late-start) morning of light fall garden work, and for the CP: Rihanna Rebelle. It hovers on the edge of becoming a love, but suffers from comparisons. I can say that I never regret wearing it when I do, and it was great with the leafy, dusty smells around me as I worked in the warm Fall sun. It’s really more chocolate than coffee, but I do get both. Post shower I will be moving to a *Swap Meet* treat: Acqua di Parma Gelsomino Nobile. Not CP compliant, but my first AdP, and the notes are looking very much in my wheel house! Happy Friday; off to read comments.
Oops – it’s the last day of the month, not Friday *blush*
It felt like Friday to me all day though, so you’re not the only one!
Thursday!
1) SOTD: Magnolia and Sugar Body Spray- am very casual today!
2) Finished both the microwave fix- it is now both bumped out AND attached to the stovepipe vent – and the tiling for the backsplash. The tiling went really fast because I used the Spilimat system. You just roll it out on a clean sanded down wall, apply the tiles in the pattern you need and immediately grout. Instead of a 5 day job, you have a 1 day job (so the grout can cure). I will clean and seal later on today, then put on the switchplates!
Have you ever posted pics of your kitchen? Dying to see your projects!
Not here but on my instagram! I will be posting pictures later on of the tile job!
If you click my name, you will see my instagram is listed!
Thanks–the wood countertops came out really well.
Can’t wait to see the pictures of the tiles!
I was reading earlier posts on NST and I think it was Wednesday Robin said “I’m in Diptyque Kimonanthe. Never heard of this one, ever. But as soon as I saw the name I got excited and said to myself: “Japan inspired and I never knew this one!!”. I clicked on it right away and it brought me to Kevin’s review on it, sounds lovely. Only at the end did I see the picture of the bottle. Wow!! Now I am drooling over this Kimonanthe… I feel like this is another one of those “Must try, must have” perfumes. Of course I can blame NST if I purchase it…
You can always blame NST! And it is such a pretty bottle.
(Adding…but I don’t own one!)
Post shower now, finished with all the chores but picking up my 2 year old soon. SotD = Cypress Shade. A masterpiece just like Chinatown was called by Luca Turin. A true gem.
Got an early start with a bike ride, then a trip to the vet for the dog’s nail trim. Wearing a heavy dose of Dior Ambre Nuit. And so happy the sun is back, yay!
?=?
The only way my weather could be more beautiful would be if it was April.
No coffee for me today. Dolce and Gabbana Pour Femme called my name.
Sorry it’s not April yet, but enjoy the lovely day anyway! ?
Oh I am!
Fall, I want fall. We will have that the next day or two, including today!
Guerlain “Santal Royal”, a freebie sample from when I bought some stuff earlier in the year. I would not pay for this fragrance – on me it’s just oud.
I love the smell of coffee but I have no perfumes with that not. Ages ago I bookmarked Piotr Czarnecki “Sensei” and forgot about it. So on a whim tonight I did a search and found it for sale at e-scentual.pl, yay!
So, with the help of Deepl.com to understand the site and Wise.com to be able to pay in zlotys, I will have a 4.5ml sample to try – too late for tomorrow’s CP but it’ll be another itch scratched.
As for proper coffee – we are going to draw a veil across many years of instant coffee and never speak of it again, okay? – I had a percolator (drip jug) but who needs that much coffee for themselves? Then a “proper” espresso machine, which took its own sweet time warming up and in the end didn’t justify the countertop space in my small kitchen. Then for several years I used a handy little plastic mug with a built-in cafetiere (french press) mechanism that could travel anywhere. Later I moved to an aeropress (it didn’t make it out of Birmingham and I don’t miss it), and now I use a stovetop espresso pot (mokka pot) which is so easy I wonder why I ever faffed about with any of the other stuff. :^)
That’s obsession!
I love those mokka pots, but don’t have one because I am better off having coffee only rarely as a treat.
My husband, however, has an arsenal of coffee makers for whatever mood strikes him. He likes a pour over best though.
Another lovely early fall day today. Nice enough that the A/C is off, and the sliding door to the patio is cracked open for fresh air. Both cats have had inquisitive sniffs of outside. ?????
My laptop is being cranky. Not quite sure what is going on, but I was kicked off the Internet once, and Microsoft Outlook is refusing to download any new emails today. Maybe it’s time to put it in timeout? Bad computer, bad!
SOTD = back in Chaldee again.
Enjoy the beautiful weather, Chaldée is pretty.
Enjoying the weather while I can, for sure. The cold winter weather will be here all too soon.

SOTD = Tauer Les Annees 25
This was the limited edition from 2016. Gorgeous! No CP points other than I had a cup of coffee ☕️ this morning and I’ll take a little credit.

I got an invitation today an hour before a “Surprise Lunch” today. We’re not all in the office and quite frankly, it should just have been sent out at least a day in advance so people who may want to participate can go into the office. I would not have changed my schedule just to participate but it would have been a better and more sincere gesture than to spring it on us. That said, I wouldn’t complain if the Surprise Lunch involved someone stopping by with a free food delivery; sadly, it was not to be.
I started out the day in l’ame Perdue, then added IUNX Talc on one arm and Seville a l’Aube on the other. All so lovely. Many thanks to my swapmeet buddies! ?
You smell exponentially fabulous!
