Guerlain has repackaged their L’Art et la Matière collection, and added two new fragrances: Rose Chérie and Santal Pao Rosa. The new bottles can be customized with your choice of cord color, seal color, custom plates for the top of the cap, and personal engraving (see below).
Rose Chérie ~ "A declaration of love à la Guerlain, Rose Chérie pays tribute to the most cherished flower among perfumers. Heightened by an almond note, its trail reveals the beating heart of a delicate rose. This fragrance of romance is punctuated with soft, gauzy olfactory touches of tender green almond, pale pink petals, more pronounced pink raspberry notes and a mauve violet note. “Rose Chérie is the thrill of a kiss on a street corner, the enchantment of a carousel ride in Montmartre; it’s pure Parisian chic. C’est la vie en rose!” Delphine Jelk, Guerlain Perfumer"
Santal Pao Rosa ~ "Nature becomes Art as the strength of sandalwood is enveloped in tender rose petals. Between bark and blossom, a score of contrasts is underpinned by a refreshing, spicy overture played by cardamom and a darker base of agarwood and notes of myrrh. Santal Pao Rosa borrows its name from Guerlain’s heritage, with Pao Rosa being the title of a fragrance by Aimé Guerlain, created in 1877 and evoking an encounter between wood and rose. “Sandalwood can sometimes take on a rosy pink hue. Santal Pao Rosa is both woody strength and floral grace. It is like a sacred love.” Delphine Jelk, Guerlain Perfumer"
Guerlain Rose Chérie and Santal Pao Rosa are available in 100 (€295) and 200 (€425) ml Eau de Parfum.* Shown just above is a selection of the plates and cord colors (there are more).

*The total price will depend on customization, if any. As near as I can tell, cord colors, seal colors (black or gold) and engraving are free. Some of the custom plates are no extra charge; others currently run from €120 - €2500.
Update ~ "The collection combines 11 of the L’Art & La Matière line’s original scents with the addition of four renamed fragrances. These are Frenchy Lavande, Herbes Troublantes, Œillet Pourpre and Épices Volées (formerly Le Frenchy, Un Dimanche à la Campagne, Lui and Arsène Lupin Voyou, respectively) as well as two new scents: Rose Chérie and Santal Pao Rosa." I have to say these bottles look a little less high-classy than the old ones, so not the best way to nudge up the price.
Maybe the cap looks less like plastic and more like onyx or something IRL?
Or maybe it IS onyx and thus completely justifying the nudge!
Can’t argue with any of that.
Biting my tongue and hearing a refrain in my head of “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it.” ?
Don’t worry, it will get said by somebody, ha!
?
For a minute there I thought these were Givenchy ?
That’s what I thought.
Rose Cherie sounds nice.
I am with the crew..do not like the bottles too Givenchy!
I came to London today to see if I could still get a bottle of Chypre Fatale. They were in the process of returning the stock bottles!
They had samples of the new perfumes already as making the transition.. one I smelled was Herbes Troublantes- it reminds me of Herba Fresca a lot but the herbal & mint accord is brighter and lasts longer I think. I thought it was very pretty. The other is Santal Pao Rosa…to my surprise (I don’t like santal royale) I really enjoyed it! It’s a soft very pretty rosy sandalwood that smells like real sandalwood.
Still very upset about the price bump and discountinuation, but these two are worth re-sniffing! They confirmed that all the elixirs channels and les parisiennes will go. Which is sad..
Herbes Troublantes is a repackaged (and reformulated?) existing Guerlain perfume, Une Dimache á La Campagne (2016). It went from a cologne strength to a proper edp.
I see! I had never seen or smelt that one. It’s nice. I’m curious to smell Rose Cherie and see how it differs from French Kiss.
I can calm down now a little bit about Rose Cherie, knowing it’s a play on French Kiss, which I love and have always thought smelled like a macron. (A raspberry one.)
But still… almond *swoon*
Yes, and what used to be Le Frenchy is now Frenchy Lavande in this series.
Oh dear, I was worried about Les Parisiennes. 🙁 Rose Chérie is reputedly French Kiss with added rose.
Which one was your favourite parisienne, Cazaubon? They still have them in the bee bottles I think so maybe not gone forever- just very pricey.
I love so many, but Mon Précieux Nectar is #1.
Mon Précieux Nectar is on my short list for frequent wear, I just feel cheerful whenever I put it on, which surprized me at first because it is sweeter than most of what I like, but, I just go with it. Hate the stupid bulb spritzer, though. It quit working (for the price it should last for generations!) I took it off and just dab it on….
Thanks for the report – very good to know.
Dislike the bottles as well and agree they are Givenchy-esque.
No affiliation but a good read on the changes on Fragrantica with engaging comments below. 😉 ?

Good info – thanks for the link.
Thank you! Now I have my head wrapped around things… kinda.
These two scents sound nice. I’m a sucker for an almond note.
Oh why, oh why didn’t I do a split of Baiser de Russie when I should have???
They still had some in stock at Holt Renfrew Vancouver last week.
I love almond too! It’s difficult to find good scents with it..
I do too, and the last few samples I’ve tried that promised almond were essentially duplicates of stuff I already have.
I guess I am “meh” about the customized concept. I want to trust the creative process of my perfumer and company to offer a bottle that is part of the creative process of the perfumer – looking at you, Mahora. Having said that, I would do the embroidered bee with a gold cord ;D
I want to try both of these. And I don’t say that often anymore.
I do, too. Fingers crossed somebody does a split. ?
So tacky, just like their mirrored lipstick. The previous bottle was so much more elegant.
But mirrored lipstick actually makes sense…
I was going to say the same thing. I don’t wear makeup often, but when l do l appreciate the mirror, and the Guerlain lipstick case just feels nice in the hands, the curve and weight. Yes l suppose it could go tacky, but l’m a fan.
