It’s Monday and James Baldwin’s birthday. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm pretty happy in good old Guerlain Vetiver.
Reminder: on 8/6 we're celebrating Happiness Happens Month. Wear a happy fragrance, and tell us about something that's made you happy recently.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

I’m in Goest Dauphine from a newly arrived mini. This was one of the perfumes featured in the NYT’s article The New Softies from a few years ago. I don’t see this one mentioned, but I really like it. It smells like fancy soap, I just wish it had a little bit more of a presence, although maybe I’m missing the point.
I got an email from Le Labo that the city exclusives are back. I’ve tried Vanille, Gaiac and Musc. Any others that are your favorites and I should be trying?
August already. Sigh.
Have you tried the NYC exclusive? Its nice. But most NYers smell like Santal33 or however that one is called
I know… August, and summer, is flying by faster than I’d like…
Time for the LL City Exclusives already? Whoa. It feels like summer only started last week. ?
Ciao
Having an Estee Lauder morning. I am sampling Mediterranean Honeysuckle by Aerin and in EL makeup: lipstick, foundation and blush
I haven’t tried anything in the Aerin line, not sure I am missing out on anything but open to anyones thoughts.
Something that makes me happy?..my father in laws chai tea. They leave tomorrow early morning so I am savoring this today.
Ohhh, I love the Aerin Honeysuckle, it’s fleeting on me though. I don’t know if the old Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia was officially Aerin or if it was Aerin via Estee Lauder, but that was one bottle I purchased, gave away, and then repurchased. 😯 We have a laundry line in the back of our apartment, in a garden filled with tomato plants, jasmine, and honeysuckle. When I bring my sheets in, they smell of tomato leaf, jasmine and honeysuckle. Makes me think of Eau de Campagne by Sisley.
The in-laws visit seems way too short! I know you’ll miss them (and the Chai…)
It’s fleeting on my skin also. I used up almost the whole sample spray in one go today and it’s not even noon. I do like it!
I will bring over my wet clothes to hang outside you place ..
Is tuberose gardenia worth sniffing out?
I love that one! It’s rather more polite than other tuberose fragrances in my collection, but very pretty.
ok ok..its worth sniffing…
I love ELPCTG, it’s a very pretty tuberose, not much indole. One spray lasts all day.
I don’t know if it’s still in production, I went through several of the soaps, it scented the bathroom, hallway, and bedroom.
I have come to love it just this summer — it used to be “meh” for me but now it is a hot-weather favorite.
I like Amber Musk. Its a light amber that feels like a nice fuzzy blanket in cooler weather.
Ok, I will smell this
I was curious about the Limone di Sicilia but there was no tester
Enjoy the chai!
For whatever reason, EL color cosmetics have never clicked for me. I was a huge Prescriptives junkie in the 90s, though. Sigh. Still miss that brand.
It’s hit or miss for me. I recently bought a lipstick, hence my sample of perfume they gave me with purchase. The lipstick I got was as hot kiss, the color is a nice, a plum color. You can layer to make it darker if needed.
Sounds beautiful!
I was a total Prescriptives junkie back in the day! I remember the Color 95′ story line rollout. It was on all the runways that year.
I still have a favorite red lippie from them that remains in my top three red lip looks (besides Ellis Faas and Chanel).
All my Prescriptives products are long gone. I held on to a couple of eye shadow duos for years because the colors were so beautiful, but I rarely wear eyeshadow now and they were…old…and (unlike lipstick!) couldn’t be dunked in alcohol to clean off.
I loved Prescriptives! Their custom-blended powders and foundations! I remember going four hours away to Chicago to get it at Marshall Field’s in 1989 (well, that wasn’t the only reason we went to Chicago, we also went for my university admissions interview). Marshall Field’s — another sadly departed brand.
I also love good chai — that, fortunately, is easier to get these days, at an Indian restaurant not far from me. 🙂
And I love honeysuckle…should maybe check out that Aerin perfume.
It is rather sad to see the older brands (Marshall Field’s, B. Altman’s, Jordan Marsh, Maas Brothers) go the way of the Dodo.
I have a 5 or 6 sample set of the Aerins and I like most of them…but they are fleeting–the Honeysuckle is my fave, I also like the Amber and the Rose. I find it is a good batch to take on a trip and spray with abandon.
Had a super early morning doctor’s appointment today and wasn’t happy to wake up at 6:45 this morning since it’s the 2nd day of vacation. Yesterday was my father’s birthday and it wasn’t even 15 minutes before he put the lawn lights I got him out. Heading off to the zoo since it’s a free day. Wearing Eau Premiere but was thinking of Sarrasins but wasn’t feeling up to being skanky today.
I have a super early doctor’s appointment on Wednesday and just thinking about getting up that early and trying to communicate with a new doctor at a time when I’m usually still asleep feels daunting.
Sounds like the lawn lights were a hit!
I’m sorry you had to get up early on vacation! I always think if I have an appointment in the morning, at least I won’t be dreading it all day. You smell great in Eau Premiere! I finally broke down and bought a bottle and it’s become one of my staples.
I am also in a vetiver that makes me happy – Tom Ford Grey Vetiver. This one is a citrus and vetiver combo, which works better in the heat of a Texas summer than the darker vetivers that I wore last week.
I need to revisit TF Grey Vetiver, for all purposes, I *should* like this one. Perhaps in the heat of our new apartment, it’ll wear better.
Yep, we are cousins at least.
I’m doing a frustrating project that sometimes results in happiness: trying to delete my accounts from old websites that I never use anymore.
Has anyone ever tried to delete their information from a website? It’s nigh on impossible. Privacy laws are simply not set up to be in favor of the consumer.
Anyway, I got two deleted yesterday, so that made me happy!
I’m wearing Arielle Shoshana Saturday.
That project sounds overwhelming — but good luck. All I have tried to do is stop the daily (or more frequent) commercial e-mails that I get from seemingly every sensor I’ve ever browsed. That’s a huge enough mountain!
You smell fantastic! Yes, I’ve been there, trying to get my info taken down, and there are so many hoops to jump through that it’s painful.
Good luck with your very worthy project….let me know how it goes, I need some inspiration to do the same!! At least you smell terrific!
I’ve been trying to get delisted from notifications in my former apartment building. I get all the emails of maintenance requests by and packages for the new tenant….
Lancôme Oranges Bigarades ☕️ ?
Ohhh I just googled Oranges Bigarades and it sounds lovely. Oranges and black tea – Yum!! I hope to be able to try that one.
I hope you get to try it. Please write back your thoughts on it if you do 🙂
I will have to try that one. Back when I was in school in the 70’s I used to wear Bigarade by Nina Ricci, and people would stop me to ask about it. But it was discontinued after a few years.
I have a few “lost loves” like that also. Gone, but not forgotten.
House twins.
Hey twin !! 🙂
Good morning everyone, I was going to pull from the samples pile to wear something, but it was Secrete Datura Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier, too heavy for today’s heat. Decided to go with Dune Homme instead. Salty/fig notes are going to be my jam today.
Headed out to the gym, it’s going to be a very busy two weeks, we’re hiring several students, need a workout for stress management…
Enjoy your workout !
I love fig in perfume. Enjoy
It is amazing how hand weights can clear your head!
I had a great workout (chest/tricep day)! Everyone is different, although I like walking and yoga, I prefer swimming, spinning, or heavy weights.
I’ll walk after dinner with the hubby (trying to get him walking also).
Monday Monday, can’t trust that day…
two sprays of Killians Angels Share, first Killian I have really enjoyed.
Already glued to the laptop.
I am still sad Angel’s Share was not for me despite loving the house of Kilian…
There’s always something else to love you haven’t tested yet!
Happy Monday. I remembered to rabbit yesterday so I’m counting on a wonderful August!
I’m in a sample of Frapin If, another in my new fragrance category love: milky, sometimes figgy, sandalwood fragrances. I’ve been having lots of sampling fun with my new category:
– Parle Moi’s Milky Musk (lovely soft fig and sandalwood with a gentle musky drydown),
– BDK Gris Charnel (too masculine aftershavey for me with the cardamom),
– Mx. (not figgy, but soft spice and woods–already a fave),
– Tam Dao (also not figgy, but calming meditative woods).
– I still need to re-try L’Artisan’s Premier Figuier.
‘If’ is probably the spiciest of the group and although I don’t see it in other reviews, I find something in it reminiscent of their Terre de Sarment.
Sounds like a fun exploration and of course, you smell fabulous!
🙂
Adding PG Bois Naufrage as another of this type.
Scent: J-Scent Roasted Green Tea from a sample. Nice stuff, although I’m not getting much sillage, maybe because I’m not spraying.
Tea: Good & Gather (Target) Breakfast Blend, or whatever the black tea is called.
Something that makes me happy: my daughter’s cats have become friends, and their antics are wonderful
I just tried it yesterday at a perfume pal patio meet-up! It reminded me of matcha candy…
Are your daughter’s cats the same age?
Up early this morning to do the last bit of yardwork required before the demolition crew arrives to tear out our aged back deck. There was a huge viney thing clinging to one corner of the deck, and I’ve been procrastinating about removing it … but now that it’s gone I really like how open it feels in that spot. Should have taken it out years ago! The deck won’t be rebuilt for a few weeks, and in the meantime another crew is going to rip out some of the yard next to the deck and do a big refresh. Our yard on that side is FULL of miniature bamboo and we’re hoping to get it all out in the refresh process — wish us luck!
My SOTM is the very happy-making Cristalle EDT.
It’s happy And classy.
I used to think that bamboo was an exotic vegetation – how could I not when pandas look happy cavorting amongst them and while eating them? That said, our group tour guide disavowed me of this notion when we passed many houses with bamboo (? weeds!) in their yard on our way to Cabo da Roca in Portugal.
The line between exotic vegetation and demonic invasive species is often in the eye of the person weeding the garden…
I’ve heard that some municipalities in the US are now requiring that if you are going to put in bamboo, you have to set aside money to have it ripped out when it (inevitablely) spreads to your neighbor’s property. Once I learned that it is a grass and spreads like crabgrass, I lost any desire to plant it on my property. It is a very good source of sustainable wood though. And also, pandas!
If I could have rented a herd of pandas to eat all the bamboo, I would have! It was adorably cute when we moved in 16 years ago. Now, it’s like the invasion of the body snatchers — gaahhh!
You are having a ton of work done. Sounds like it will look amazing!
I hope so! Part of what’s being ripped out over the next couple of weeks (aside from the deck) is a water feature that was beautiful 16 years ago, but that hasn’t been functional for a long time. It was a little waterfall that fed into a 15-foot streambed, and ultimately dropped into a 3-foot diameter pond at the bottom. I suspect there are bamboo roots in all the piping, the streambed is full of years’ worth of fallen leaves and needles, and the pond is … well, let’s just say “unsightly” and leave it at that. Luckily we’re on a corner lot and all this bamboo is on the street side where there’s also a wide verge, so no neighbors’ yards have been compromised … yet!
Cristalle always makes me happy!
Cristalle is a very happy scent! One of my favorites.
Wow, best of luck with the yard & deck re-do! It sounds like quite the project.
Having just pulled out a mess of ivy and staring down a stand of bamboo, I will never buy another house with invasive plants.
Good morning.
I am in yummy Candy. This scent makes me happy everytime. 🙂
Candy is very sweet happy scent
I love Candy!
I’m happy to get some rest from the higher temperatures. Today the termometer bar barely went above 20*C.
Started the week with Prada Infusion d’Homme.
You sure do smell good!
Why thank you!
Glad you’re getting a respite from the heat!
Yeah, me too. I like my summer when it’s mildly warm.
Last night I put on a little bit of CSP Opoponax, and this morning when I put my hands up to rub my eyes I realized I could smell something wonderful and it was me. That stuff has some serious staying power. I have a tiny amount left in my ancient decant, maybe half a millilitre, and I’ll be sorry to see it go.
Isn’t that a great feeling when you realize that what smells so good is you?
It really is! And especially these days when we’re masked and can’t smell anything all that clearly: sometimes I’m at work and I slip off my mask when I take a break and think, “Oh, yeah, right, I put this on this morning and it smells fantastic!”
How lovely!
Yay for happiness week! It’s going to be an unusual week for me — my son is staying with his dad all week at his dad’s request and it’ll be by far the longest I’ve ever been apart from him. Been dreading it but doing my best to pack my schedule and take advantage of the chance to get some things done. I’ll be out in the field almost every day this week and have tromping-through-the-underbrush work to do with three different foresters, and I have *two* safely-distanced social events on workday evenings which will be downright bizarre after spending pretty much the last two months in solitude! Wearing Prescriptives Calyx today for forester-field-visit #1, and then outdoor yoga and dinner out near the coast with a dear friend I haven’t seen in over a year.
Hoping that by the end of the week I’ll have lost a pound, gained some leg muscle, and buffed the rust off my social skills!
…and the Calyx (which I was just testing) got a bit cloying so I’ve covered it up with some Neroli Portofino.
Some days Calyx does get cloying for me, too — but we are scent twins today, since LTSG made me think of Prescriptives and Calyx is a happy scent, for me, of long standing. How is it with the Neroli on top?
It’s lending a sort of shampooeyness but it mostly swallowed up — I only had a small amount on from a sample dabber.
I am sure you will miss him but really hope it will be a fun week, too!
Hang in there, mama!
Finally thunkedy decant of Memoire D Une Odeur today
I would not mind another decant, because it’s great for summer.
I saw Off5th online has it in a lot of different sizes.
I guess thunkedy was a typo, but I love it.
Awesome new word for the NST lexicon: thunkedy!
SOTD is CdG Lily from a tester spray. I get a LOTV soliflore — blooms along with stems and leaves, IOW, floral with some greenness. This is very sheer to me, maybe with a touch of creaminess, but I love that I get no powder. Makes it come off as very fresh. Linear, but that’s OK. It is very pretty.
I saw that some people compare it to Jessica McClintock, so I’m looking forward to doing a wrist to wrist comparasion later today. (I broke down and blind bought a cheapo bottle of JM after hearing so much praise from SmokeyToes, Floralgal, MossyBerry, Celestia and others. I will do my best to disassociate it from the itchy velvet and lace JM holiday dresses my mom used to make me and my sister wear).
Thanks to everyone for the well-wishes for helping my parents pack up their house this weekend. Mr. Vee and I filled up a 10-foot UHaul, and the movers are taking care of the rest today. Went well except for the fact that my dad would throw NOTHING away (if you have a box of electronics cords, and you don’t remeber what they are for and haven’t needed one of them in the last ten years, you are not going to need them in next ten years, x800). Luckily my sister has been there since Thursday to help, and to given my mom a buffer when needed.
Came home exhausted and went to bed early last night. Was suppose to have an early work call this morning that got cancelled overnight, so I woke up, checked my email, and then slept in for another hour and it was glorious!
The move into the new house starts tomorrow morning, but it is only 7 minutes away instead of 2+hours (and only 7 houses away from my sister!), so thankfully it can happen in stages while my parents stay in my guest room.
Drinking Mandarine Orange Spice tea to thunk a box and rehydrate. Upon revisiting my Celestial Seasonings collection recently, this is by far the best of the bunch, so I could see keeping one box of it around.
Sorry for the novel-length comment.
Not at all — that’s what we’re here for, Vee!
No worries at all, and very good luck with the move Vee!!
I found it very satisfying. From sharing your annoyance over the non-preciousness of random electrical cords, to the nearby move, to the contentedness that comes with thunking a box that held tea bags. My day is better already!!!
Thanks OF!
That sounds like a nice lily — I have a vague feeling I might have a tester of that one lying around here somewhere… Lys Mediterranee is my go-to lily; I love that it’s fresh and green rather than heavy.
Congratulations on getting through what sounds like the biggest push with your parents’ move! You definitely deserve sleep, and tea.
Good luck with the rest of the move!
You will be relieved when it’s over, not surprised you were tired.
When your dad is finally done with those cords, if he offers them to my husband he will take them — no lie.
🙂 This is why we don’t let my dad go to thrift stores, yard sales, etc., unaccompanied. Full disclosure: I threw some of the cords away after I unloaded that box at the new house and I do not feel bad about it.
I would have done the same. 🙂
Love this! My hubby is the same, sadly. I’m trying to change him but I think the solution for me is to chuck things without saying anything.
Refreshed the CdG and put on some Jessica McClintock for a comparison late this afternoon. JM is more powdery and perfumey; not just a soliflore. CdG is fresher, with green notes but no powder; the whole LOTV, but only LOTV. That said, Cdg also has a slight bit of salty/fresh sweat in it that I find appealing, like some corriander off in the distance (I picked this up in the comparision, but not while wearing CdG alone). In the JM, I definitely get some citrus, rose, and wood in the mix, especially more rose far into the dry down. They are very similar tho. I prefer the CdG, but there isn’t a huge difference and it mainly comes down to the rose note in the JM.
Thanks for the CdG vs JessMcC comparison!
Wow, sounds very satisfying!
“ Was suppose to have an early work call this morning that got cancelled overnight, ” – while it’s nice to get an extra hour of sleep, this happening would infuriate me.
SOTD is DSH Toward the Starry Vault. Sweet, charming Chypre to my nose. Contemplating a purchase of Snowy Owl, which rings my LOTV bells, and is also created by DSH for Zoologist. Typing this while listening to a meeting that is a messy combination of technical guideline demo and sales pitch. Not enough specific info for either track. I need more coffee. Questions are getting more hostile, trying to get the people on track. Ugh.
Ugh indeed. Hope that meeting is long since over and you’ve had another coffee.
I”m in the bright cheerful DSH Sharkskin
It’s still very hot here, so I am facing it down with Estee Lauder Knowing. Maybe a bit sophisticated for an errand-running Monday, but I love wearing it.
Even the sophisticated have to run errands every now and then. You might as well smell good while you do it (and of course you do smell good because Knowing is a masterpiece).
You smell wonderful, and a powerhouse like Knowing, IMHO, can be just right on a very hot day!
Giving Biehl PC01 a spin, as it’s a former happy-summer favourite.
Wow, almost forgot about Biehl!
“If you looked at a list of what each molecule smells like individually, you might notice something surprising. For instance, acetic acid, the odor molecule present in the highest levels in the chocolates, smells like vinegar by itself. And 3-methylbutanoic acid has a rancid, sweaty stench on its own. Then there’s dimethyl trisulfide, which smells like cabbage.
“But these and other compounds, at very particular concentrations, work together to play the elaborate pipe organ that is our olfactory system. Together they attach to receptors in the nose and the back of the mouth to play a specific set of keys, creating a neural chord that says not “cabbage” or “sweat” or “vinegar,” nor even a mixture of these, but “chocolate.” Specifically, in this case, “very dark chocolate.” ”
— From this 2019 article on the chemical components of the wonderful aroma of chocolate:

5% acetic acid is vinegar….
Good read. Thanks for sharing it, nozknoz. I find the scent-brain connections endlessly fascinating.
I am waiting for 100% cacao chocolate that Christophe Laudamiel recommended. I hope it arrives by Thursday!
That will be interesting, and I’m looking forward to hearing more!
I’ve tried Lindt’s 99% but never got used to it. 95% is my daily chocolate.
In CdG Rouge – the beets and incense combo makes me happy 🙂
Me Too! just a bit too hot right now for it.
No scent yet this morning. Still on vacation, and am in the midst of two days with nothing booked, so moving slowly. 🙂 Also, the rest of my family is sore and moving even more slowly than I am, as they decided to try surfing yet again yesterday (wisely, I left the surfboard on the car and just put on the wetsuit and went in the water instead). It’s very clear that learning to surf as a middle-aged person is not advisable. My kid loved it, though!
At any rate, tomorrow is my day to get sore, but in a good way: We’re kayaking all day.
It has been nice to be out of the reno zone for a couple of weeks. Of course, now that I have all the appliances after six months, I was expecting to come home to a nearly furnished kitchen. But my designer checked in Friday to let me know that they can’t get the IKEA cabinet boxes they were going to use for one wall and we may have to pay for that wall to be custom. (They’ve had 4+ months to order the cabinet boxes and they’re just doing it NOW?!#!@!) I hate COVID supply chain issues. Trying not to think about it — will need to go find a happy scent! 😀
Oy – keep enjoying your vacation. Real world problems can wait ?
Ugh! I’m with hajusuuri…try not to think about it until you get back!
Hello Fragrant Friends–it has been a very long time since I last posted, but I have been reading up on all of you most days. I could use a happy week; I imagine we all could. I have no major problems, just dozens of small ones that seem all the more annoying given the crazy state of our world and my inability to travel at the moment. Enough bitching….my life is just fine, let’s turn a page….
Weather today is lovely here and I smell great in Ineke’s Idyllwild. Hope for a bright day for all of you.
I’m with you about small problems.
Beautiful weather twins!
Nice to hear that things are going well for you.
Good to see you back, jepster!
I took it easy this weekend after surgery, I think that it was the pain medications which made me very sleepy. Grocery shopping this afternoon and feel tired again but in a good way, wearing Jasmins Marzipane, a real love.
That’s a love for me too.
Glad you love it too, it has such a nice scent bubble too.
Nice !
Thank you, yours sounds delicious too.
Glad to hear that today’s tired was a “good tired”.
Thank you Jalapeno, recuperating nicely.
You smell great! Hope your recovery goes well.
Thank you Cazaubon, already much better than Friday.
Wearing 24, Faubourg today. I should have worn it for last week’s community project, as when my bottle is done I will definitely replace it (finances permitting). I’ve given some thought to replacing my EDP with EDT. Any thoughts/comparisons between the two? I’ve not smelled them side by side for a long time. Anyway, it always makes me happy.
Hi NovemberRose, I have a bottle that I bought at an estate sale that you are welcome to.
AnniePerfumes Att gee male
What a generous offer! Perfume people are the best.
You smell great November Rose.
And you can email me too (click on the hajusuuri link) although it has nothing to do with Hermès.
After one of the Chanel haute joaillerie clips, YouTube suggested this exquisite short film on a Russian prima ballerina:

Kenzo Amour simply because I was indecisive and the bottle caught my eye.
Bailed on the Sat evening concert. Started too late and we were lazy. But, we did spend much of the day at the county fair yesterday. Which was quite an accomplishment, given how tiny it was. We managed to see baby goat, pig and runner duck races, “pro” wrestling, horseback riding competition, and a lot of dockdogs competition, which involves dogs jumping into water to retrieve toys (highly entertaining.) We got caught up in that so missed the demolition derby. No funnel cakes…just a Sloppy Joe and a sundae.
I too can’t believe it’s August.
I’ve watched dockdogs on TV sometimes when ESPN (or the like) shows it. Never seen it in real life, though. It IS fun to watch!
We became surprisingly invested in the outcome – I’ll have to look for it on ESPN.
I loved your IG post on it!
?
I immersed myself in Chanel Paris-Venise today – shower gel, lotion and eaux. Makes me happy to smell something wonderful today.
My inner-Virgo voice is telling me to organize the office a bit today; think I will take advantage of this whim since it doesn’t come around too often. We did manage to purge a few outdated books from here, so that was a good start. Too much stuff!
I have not been motivated to purge. I will have to do it though.
Had our first dinner guests this weekend so this made me happy! To add to this, or because of this, the apt. looks great — clean and neat.
Also happy because I’ve taken to using Jessica McClintock, my husband’s fav perfume, as a room/apt freshener. He is thrilled and the apt. smells wonderful 😉
SOTD: Cocoa Sandalwood by SSS
Enjoying a mid-afternoon coffee and leftover dessert from our dinner.
Enabler pins to you and Mr. Floragal. I’m in Jessica McClintock today, from a FB I bought blind because of you and some other NSTers.
Very smart move! Glad you had your first dinner guests!
In a clove/coffee over vetiver scent, Nuit de Megève from Eight & Bob. Wikipedia tells me that Megève is the name of the luxurious ski resort in the film Charade . .. which is interesting because I had a flash of the thick fur coats as they turned into pine trees in the back of the wardrobe in the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe when I sprayed this on my wrists!
I cannot decide if that sounds like something I should smell or not!
Well, I am totally unreliable as it stands. Here’s the review of the same from The Candy Perfume Boy, and it sounds like a totally different perfume! I get the creamy wood, but I also get coffee and clove, and of course vetiver.
https://thecandyperfumeboy.com/2017/05/17/speed-sniff-nuit-de-megeve-by-eight-bob/
Well hey, I don’t see that as anybody being unreliable…you both smell different things, happens all the time! But thank you for the 2nd opinion.
Finished a decant of LVEB Intensément which is a really good flanker that doesn’t smell like the original…I get a gourmand w/ sweet raspberries, orange blossom, vanilla and patchouli.
My sister is having her 4th chemo treatment today and will be 33% done w/ her course of 12.? Her bloodwork was good and she worked all last week during her off week.♥️
Trying to stay positive though I feel frazzled with the news of late. 🙁 I am looking forward to the vaccine being approved for the 2-12 age group.??
Fingers crossed for your sister — it’s great to hear that she’s feeling well enough to work! And I’m with you on looking forward to the littles being able to get vaccinated. I’m so worried about my own little one heading back to in-person school in a couple of weeks.
I also have my fingers crossed for your sister!
Sending good vibes for you and your sister!
Thoughts and prayers for your sister. Also, my lemming is getting the fidgets over your description of LVEB Intensement.
I have found the Macy’s SA to be generous. I may just buy a bottle.
Sending positive energy to your sister and you. And right there with you on looking forward to the vax approval for ages 2-12, and I don’t even have kids! (but it’s #1 good for society/herd immunity, and #2 will make my job a bit easier)
Both you and hajusuuri have now sung the praises of LVEB Intensement. That, along with the gorgeous bottle, has my lemming getting fidgety too.
Continued good vibes for your sister!
Wishing your sister well and continued healing! LVEB Intensement is very good. I do need to make sure it doesn’t give me a headache which is a rare occurrence for me.
Continued positive thoughts and good wishes to your sister and to you!
Song of the Day: https://youtu.be/Fo6aKnRnBxM
I did not know that this was one of the first 100 videos shown on MTV!
Still not quite back in sync with my time zone. Blergh. On the plus side, I have whittled down the mountain of laundry by about a third at this point…
SOTD = Oolang Infini by Atelier Cologne, from the sample stash and one of you lovely folks here at NST. It gets some love and affection here, but doesn’t work for me. On to the next discovery!
I didn’t know that either. My neighbor had Mtv, and we stayed up for hours on end watching and waiting for our favorite videos to come on. I honestly don’t remember ever seeing this one. It must have been low on the rotation.
’cause Girls, they wanna have fun… 🙂
I remember those days of waiting for a favorite video to come on, too! Didn’t happen very often, since my Dad thought that cable tv was a waste of money. I usually saw MTV on school trips where the hotel had cable tv. Pretty sure that if he were still around, he would have similar words about streaming services, too.
The county fair sound system played Michael Jackson’s Beat It a number of times yesterday. Peak MTV.
I always liked that song, but did not know what it was.
“Baker Street” was a radio favorite for me and my brother back when it came out. Our parents, not so much.
Great song! So much good music back then.
It still makes me smile when I hear it on the radio!
Alas, some of my other old favorites have been played too much, and now I can’t stand them.
We had MTV since my dad was a cableTV junkie. I don’t think I’ve sat through one whole video.
LOL! Your dad was the complete opposite of mine, then.
I’ve always lovedthat song, he died a few years ago ims.
Suspect you were listening to XPN this morning too?
Happenstance participant in the CP, early. SotD Allure edp, to have lunch in the home of a friend who I met at my first job after moving to my current city in 1990. Just a nice afternoon of family talk, shared updates on mutual friends, and a delicious meal.
Sounds like a great day. You smelled great!
Great day and Allure is wonderful.
Late to the party but here I am!

I’m hearing rumors about a possible change in our returning to the office stance. Not for anything other than a big guess … I think we’ll hear tomorrow. Having said this, we have employees requesting / demanding that the company send out alerts to tell people how dangerous it is “out there”, even before the delta stuff … these same people did not want to escalate to their management.
I wonder if some offices are rethinking RTO what with the delta variant running rampant.
Congrats on the bottle! Is this brand sold here in the U.S?
I stayed home today because I wasn’t feeling well. This morning I wore Dame New Musk. I am sampling Narciso Musc Noir right now. I’m waiting for this one to show up on discounters. I saw a video stating that Guerlain was to have a big price increase this fall. In case anyone was thinking about a purchase.
Hope you’re feeling better now lillyjo!
I am like waaayy late to post my SotD but it was Chinatown.
