La Perla Signature & Haute Parfumerie Collection ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 23 July 2021 5 Comments

Italian lingerie brand La Perla has launched a new version of their Signature fragrance, plus the Haute Parfumerie Collection, with eight new fragrances (About That Night, Invisible Touch, Just Give Me Roses, Let the Dance Begin, My Day, Once Upon A Garden, Possibilities and Villa Sorrento).

La Perla Signature (above second from left) ~ Perfumer Louise Turner. "While sparkling citrus top notes invite curiosity, the refined scent of violet leaves weaves its way delicately through the heart of this fragrance and combines with neroli to create a lingering floral verdancy. This freshness melts into floral jasmine muskiness, alluring as your self-assured smile. Beneath the surface, uncover another layer of your secret splendour – vetiver and woody base notes underpinning the opulence of the pearl, like your soft yet powerful self-confidence."

About That Night ~ Perfumer Dominique Preyssas; Oriental Floral Aromatic. "The scent opens with the crisp top notes of bergamot and lemon, which lead you to an enchanting caress of lavender. As orange blossom and jasmine intertwine with iris, the heart of the enticing fusion evolves into a floral bloom. Finally, uncover a drydown of deep, full-bodied musk, as sandalwood and vanilla relax into tranquil fulfilment. Reminiscent of the balmy essence of that night, it leaves behind an unforgettable trail of pleasure."

Invisible Touch ~ Perfumers Dora Baghriche and Nicolas Bonneville; Woody Floral Gourmand. "This floral, woody blend works its magic like soft cashmere over delicate lace. The scent is a sheer, feminine blend that includes sparkling pink pepper, rose petals and ylang-ylang. Sensual tones of patchouli and musk underpin the composition and offer their warm, secret embrace throughout the day."

Just Give Me Roses ~ Perfumer Dominique Preyssas; Oriental Floral Spicy. "The scent explores the rose's enchanting depths. Spicy top notes of oriental saffron and pink and black pepper evoke the friends, lovers and memories that have coloured your life. These aromas melt into the pure, single heart note of Damask rose , in celebration of all its infinite romance. As the fragrance develops, find yourself wrapped in the warm and woody intensity of amber-tobacco and musk, as if sitting on a cedarwood bench in summer, among a blooming rose garden."

Let the Dance Begin ~ Perfumer Dominique Preyssas; Woody Floral Gourmand. "Exotic and dreamy davana, spicy cardamom and black pepper are the opening notes of this enticing tune. They give way to the beating heart of tuberose, which meets with a crush of ylang-ylang and patchouli. Sandalwood deepens the tempo and ignites the flame of the final thrill, bringing balanced tension for an unforgettable, enduring trail."

My Day ~ Perfumer Dominique Preyssas; Floral Musky Woody. "My Day blends feelings of serene confidence with sensations of tingling excitement, taking you from professional prowess to the celebration of your success. Opening with the shimmering sophistication of citrus and vivacious pink pepper, the scent gives way to a refined heart of jasmine and iris as you receive your reward: the woody elegance of highly-prized orris. Then, sandalwood and vetiver come together to instill a warm sense of satisfaction. While many may admire from afar as you celebrate, there is a subtlety to this scent – only those who are close to you experience its full radiance."

Once Upon A Garden ~ Perfumer Caroline Dumur; Floral Green. "A delicately balanced, enduring scent, this fragrance wraps you in the sensuality that exists at twilight. As a crisp breeze ushers you into the beauty of the night, the freshness of spearmint blends with vivid mandarin and pink pepper, punctuating the floral haze of raspberry leaf and ingenuous sweet pea at the heart of the reverie. The woodiness of earthy moss and patchouli grounds you, with a lingering trail that is curious and lush, a garden path leading you through a dream."

Possibilities ~ Perfumer Louise Turner; Chypre Oriental Ambery. "As you make your entrance, the floral fruity airiness and spicy sweetness of freesia and blackcurrant is just a prelude. The irresistible warmth of a sophisticated blend of petally and powdery roses ensues. Drawing closer, find the intriguing promise of exotic vanilla enveloping you with an intense radiance. Finally, leave a soft and sensual trail of amber. It will linger along with their gazes, and their questions over what could have been."

Villa Sorrento ~ Perfumer Roxanne Kirkpatrick. "Rejuvenating top notes of zesty blood orange, green mandarin and grapefruit recall the citrus groves of hilltop gardens. The delicate scent of the neroli buds and the lush citrus foliage playfully add to the effect, as hypnotic as the reflections and shadows when the day blends into sparkling dusk. Finally, it dries down to the earthy richness of woody, amber notes, enveloping you with gentle warmth, like those villa walls that absorbed the day's heat."

La Perla Signature is available in 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum. The Haute Parfumerie Collection fragrances are sold in 30 (£88) and 120 (£254) ml Eau de Parfum; a coffret of all eight in 12 ml is £219.

I’ve not tried these scents, but I give the brand credit for descriptions which are a bit wordy but actually seem to describe the scent. Further credit is due for suggesting that someone might want to wear the scents for a reason other than magically become irresistible to the nearest member of the opposite sex walking by.

Ha, well I did not copy over the entire descriptions so there might be some of that stuff too…
