La Perla La Mia Perla ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 9 May 2017 12 Comments

La Perla La Mia Perla

Italian lingerie brand La Perla has launched La Mia Perla, a new fragrance for women. It is the brand's first fragrance under licensing arrangements with CBBeauty.

La Perla fragrance comes full circle back into a Pearl - a timeless jewel whose luster and beauty fascinated Ada, the founder of the brand. A nod to the birth of Venus - the Goddess of love and beauty, who came out of the sea in a shell.

La Mia Perla is the embodiment of beauty, seduction and femininity - a woman who finds and owns her sensuality.

A sophisticated, elegant and sensual fragrance with a smooth, warm luminosity and creaminess, it innovates and sets apart from other fragrances as a solar oriental: a new and evolving fragrance category.

The notes feature mandarin, white pepper, jasmine, peony, orris, "silky suede ambrox", muscenone (musk note) and sandalwood.

La Perla La Mia Perla is available now at John Lewis in the UK, in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Interesting to see them emphasizing muscenone. Is not a widely known musk. It’s pretty good and among the most expensive musks. But silky suede ambrox sounds silly to me

Silky suede ambrox is darned silly. But perhaps it is just missing a comma?

I didn’t think about that. It would make more sense indeed.

It’s why I put it in quotations — it might just be a mistake at John Lewis.

La Perla had a very interesting fragrance Robin, Eclix. Do you know that? It also has a pretty eye-catching bottle.

Yes, Eclix was great — vaguely related to Theorema, but I do like Theorema much better.

What is a solar oriental (other than a “new and evolving fragrance category”)? An oriental that’s been left in the sun?

An oriental with a “sun warmed skin” accord, usually at least a little salty.
