Happy Almost-Friday! It's also Math 2.0 Day and Billy Eckstine's birthday. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm keeping things cheery on a dreary / hot / overcast / humid July day, in Cartier Eau de Cartier Zeste de Soleil.
Reminder: on 7/9 we're honoring Ice Cream month. Tell us your favorite flavor, share a recipe if you like, and wear any perfume that you think fits the project.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image ("Yoghurt Ice Cream & Yuzu Ice Cream: with the Glace Velouté Infiniment Yuzu, Pierre Hermé blends the exuberance of yuzu with the acidic freshness of yogurt, whose milky freshness gently tempers the aromatic power of citrus fruit") is from Pierre Hermé Paris - London at Facebook.
Licorice day four: SL Fourreau Noir, which doesn’t have licorice listed in the notes but which definitely does smell like black licorice and lavender. I don’t get many compliments on my scents because I spray lightly, but when I do get comments they’re usually on this one. It’s fantastic.
licorice week or Serge week??
You smell wonderful! A rather underrated Serge.
Love FN, you smell great.
In Parfum d’Empire Corsica Furiosa for another hot, humid day.
Having my second cup of iced coffee with a slice of peach pie.
Happy almost Friday! ?
Everything about all of that sounds absolutely wonderful!
Thank you, Isabella! ?
Mmmmm peach pie and coffee! Yum!
Passing you some! ?☕?
Can I have two pieces?! Peach is my fav! ?
Here they go! ???!
Hmmm…. Peach pie sounds really delicious. I have a big bunch of apricots that are going to turn faster than I can eat them. I see apricot cobbler in my future. Thanks for the inspiration!
Enjoy that cobbler! ??
What a fabulous problem to have! I used to live in a house with an old apricot tree out back, and every single apricot on it would ripen on the same day, so once a year it was a full-blown apricot emergency — crates and crates of the things that needed to be dealt with immediately. Lots of apricot-vanilla bean jam was given away for Christmas in those years…
“full-blown apricot emergency” 😀 Homemade apricot-vanilla bean jam sounds delicious. You must have been a sought-after Christmas guest!
Your breakfast/snack would make for a very good smelling gourmand perfume! ?☕??
?
I’m wearing Mémoire d’une Odeur by Gucci. This one is interesting.
I’ll join you in condemning this one with faint praise…
“This one is interesting.”
That doesn’t bode well…..
Ha! I was ready to try to like Mémoire, but it proved so fleeting on my skin that I didn’t have time to decide whether I was really for or against it. A perfume that reads to me as chamomile (even though that note isn’t listed) and does have some staying power is ELDO’s Remarkable People.
Using “Odeur” in the name makes it sound so unappealing. You’d think they would use “Scent” instead. But based on your and Amyitis’s take, maybe “odor” is accurate.
I have assumed that odeur must have a different connotation in French — but who knows!
Odeur just means smell, it isn’t negative, but of course that depends on context & tone. 😉
Gorgeous bottle for that one.
Testing Sicilian Leather today.
And I smell great!
Oh, very curious about this one, if you care to report out!
I’d also love a mini review!
Mini review at end of day. Sicilian leather has a bright citrus opening. About an hour in the opening moves to a soft leather that seemed lighter, more translucent and wearable for summer than Memo French. Lasts about 8 hours. I would purchase this if it came in the travel size bottle but not 300 dollars for a full size that I would never finish.
That looks delicious and I’d be happy to eat it at 10:30am in the morn. — has fruit, right?
SOTD: Chanel Paris-Venise (neroli & vanilla = creamsicle?)
I thought it was an Hermes paper cup and was thinking…really?
but now I have my computer glasses on.
You smell great floragal!
Fruit and yogurt, so basically health food! I have such a pastry crush on Pierre Hermé…
Oh, that Ispahan macaron!
You smell soooo good. Love that one.
You smell great! My last “Scent Sample Sunday” blog post was about Paris-Venise. It is just beautiful. An ideal summer scent!
Great choice! You smell so wonderful.
It made me very hungry this morning to post that picture!
I would eat that at any time!
SOTD (not for long) is Parfums de Nicolai Ambre Cashmere Intense. They weren’t kidding when they put Intense in the name. I’m hitting it with alcohol and deodorant and it’s not budging. 😯
After the gym and a shower, I’ll apply Alien Essence Absolute.
All I can think about is brown Sugar ice cream (thanks SpringPansy!).
Everyone have a great day!
?” I’m hitting it with alcohol and deodorant and it’s not budging”
?
Try makeup remover, if you have any. The kind that removes waterproof eye makeup seems to work best for me.
Thanks for the tips! 😀
L’Occitane’s almond shower oil is incredible at getting bad perfume choices off! Rub directly on the offending location and rinse.
SOTD= Seville al’Aube.
Ice cream fave- Hagen Das Chocolate…is there really any other flavor?
I have some Jeni’s Darkest Chocolate waiting in the freezer 🙂
You smell great today meredifay!
I would have to offer Hagen Daas Coffee as my counter to your chocolate.
I mis-read the info about today’s image, and thought Hermes was branching out into ice cream! A big divergence from scarves and bags, but what the heck, good for them–and then it clicked. Clearly, I am only part way through coffee #1, and it is not quite enough.
Wearing Selva do Brazil. No CP points, but it’s perfect in hot weather.
(My first, less than charitable thought — if they thought they could charge $150 a scoop, they’d be selling it already.)
They probably could — just not at high enough volumes to justify the refrigeration equipment, etc. ?
Not a Perfume
By JHAG
Or as someone commented, a water down version of light blue
I might like a watered down version of Lt. Blue. 🙂
I thought the same thing ha!
hahaha!
I couldn’t smell that one the first time I tried it.
I couldn’t agree with you more! It’s a nice perfume for when you don’t want to wear perfume or smell perfume ? It last for about a NY minute on me
It’s tricky, I feel like most NST people definitely wear perfume for themselves, so those not-scents serve a specific purpose but not one most of us choose voluntarily ?
I have a bottle of Glossier’s You as a stealth scent for work as some of my co-workers are more sensitive to bolder choices.
For some reason just at first glance I thought this was an ice cream affiliated with Hermes. You know how Christian Dior had a dessert in his name?
Waiting for a perfume package to arrive today and that’s keeping excited!!
No SotD yet, will report back after shower ?
See missionista above 🙂
Hope your package arrives!
what is the perfume package!?
Can’t decide between the calming influence of Nuit Etoilee or the comfort of PR La Nuit. Work has been brutal. A colleague sent a sympathetic “Apocalypse???” message the day before yesterday and then I could still think it halfway funny. Today I’m snapping at the husband and feeling very sorry for myself. I wish I could join all the retirees. Or just pack it in and go and live in a tent on someone’s corner and just be the problem for a change and not the solution.
Sending ((hugs)) your way. So many colleagues have retired early. I’ve been considering early retirement, but it’s too tight for comfort.
Too tight for comfort here too. And my MIL is a marvel at 90 and has run out of money, so the children support her. My husband is now worried (the irony!) that he has the same indestructible genes.
Make it a trailer and I will be your roommate!
Sending hugs and chocolate!
I’ll be your roomie! You can do the playlist and I’ll do the cooking. Somehow I think you could do boho style well and teach me a thing or two to be less frumpy. All of this of course just using coupons and flying around the world with our chocolate pudding air miles.
Sounds good to me!(especially the part where you do the cooking!) LOL
Sending hugs to you. Don’t be too hard on yourself.
Thanks, KellyC!
Hope the days improve! Sending comforting vibes!
Thanks. I feel better for having vented.
I’m sorry about the work issue. I almost retired early this year, especially as there were threats of moving my team to report to a power-hungry colleague whom I — I’ll just say “dislike and don’t trust.” That threat has ended and I have a new boss whom I like very much! What a world of difference that makes. So I’m still on the meter for at least one more year. Hang in there — I feel your pain at always being responsible for solving others’ problems, especially if said problems were self-inflicted! I hope you chose a scent that makes your day better.
La Nuit. And glad you have a likable boss now!
Thanks! Great fragrance, btw! I hope work improves for you too.
I have conversations with my close colleagues all of the time about just how much work environment toxicity — sorry to use that trendy word, but it fits — infiltrates our lives, our emotional landscapes, our capacity to deal. That ever-present, looming cloud of low-level dread and anxiety that hovers over every day. Ugh.
I’m sending you a big hug, and fragrant thoughts. I say go with the Nuit Etoilee!
Hi LisaD. Nuit Etoilee for tomorrow then!
So true! My family would say I’m a bit of a workaholic because I just keep going like the Energizer Bunny until the stuff gets done, but I think most work environments have become abusive, and that’s so unnecessary. I have a small team but I try to make our group a safe haven where people can do their best work and feel safe and supported. Abusive work environments serve some psychological need on the part of their leaders, imho, not the goals of the organization.
Sending you a big hug. You have a lot on your shoulders right now – I can see why the tent is so appealing!
Sorry to hear that work has been so unpleasant for you as of late.
Hi, NST! I took a break from absolutely everything for the last few weeks, and it’s been lovely and busy.
I’m delighted to know it’s ice cream week and will dutifully incorporate that into tomorrow’s plans.
Today, I’m wearing The Musc from Essential Parfums. I recently finally tried the only Hermes jardin that I had never smelled, Sur la Toit, and I keep thinking about it. Summer and this series just go together so well!
How nice — a break is necessary every so often.
Welcome back!
Mmm-…ice cream?
Inspired by the Aqua Allegoria showdown yesterday I managed to empty two samples today. I spent the workday in Flora Salvaggia and refreshed myself with Nettare di Sole just an hour ago. No idea how to translate them to ice cream though. Will think something for tomorrow.
Kaftans still in assembly line due to constantly interfering assistants (aged 4&7). I am thinking whether to 1) delay the sewing project until summer 2030 2) screen-tranquilise the kids 3) lock myself to garage.
I hope you all will have a lovely day❤️
Laughing over those options! Although secluding oneself behind locked doors might not be a bad idea…
Good luck!
Then there’s the toga option, as in scrap the kaftans and go for togas?
#3, with plenty of coffee or wine
Thanks, very temted to combine your& Oakland Fresca’s suggestion above but afraid it will turn into Animal house?
No child has ever been physically hurt by a screen. It’s not a long term solution, but when my kids were young and I was exhausted or needed to do something, I parked them in front of the TV. To this day, they can sing O-O-O-O-Oprah. And I wasn’t Oprah’s target demographic at all! Of course, we discuss our favourite scenes from Winnie the Pooh, Finding Nemo (“It’s Brucie!”) and Sitting Ducks all the time. It’s not all bad.
lol, I owe PBS Kids eternal gratitude! When mine were little, that was my fallback. They can still sing all the songs, and they remember science from The Magic Schoolbus! My own faves were Thomas the Tank Engine, Reading Rainbow, and Between the Lions! I did a lot of breastfeeding with those on!
My kids did not speak until around age 4. PBS had a sign language show that helped us communicate.
Of course, we also watched a lot of just fun stuff.
Testing JM’s Nectarine Blossom & Honey, curtesy of the very generous Pixel. My wonky nose smell pear, but in a good way. (I like pear!) It reminds me of fancy shampoo and some scent from the 90s.
Your description makes me want to try it!
Vintage Miss Dior, I always try to love it, but somehow this is much to serious for me. Like a CEO in a designer suit. A great scent, but so totally not me!
Bet you rock it, all the same!
You smell marvelous, CEO or not!
? love Your description with a CEO in a designer suit!!
I really like some Chanel scents, but most of them are just too fancy for me (#22!). And the ones that could be me eg Bel Respiro/ La Pausa last all of two minutes on my skin.
22 is fancy.. I love it, but rarely wear it.
I used to feel all the Chanels were reserved for Catherine Deneuve, but I’ve grown to like Sycamore, 28 La Pausa, and Bois des Iles. I love to contemplate No. 5 at home, too, but I would never wear anything so recognizable in public.
I knew I was forgetting one: Cuir de Russie (sp?).
There are so many scents I feel that way about! I’m many things, but “a lady” isn’t particularly one of them ?
Encens Mythique Tuesday and yesterday. Sooo good even the hubs commented a couple of times. Them today in Philosykos. Gosh I love this one so much.
Well, since settling in the new house we’ve had many, many deer sightings, an elk herd move through the yard twice and even our first bear encounter. My hubs was breaking down boxes in the driveway Monday and came in hollering “Bear! Bear!” Apparently the sucker jogged right past him at the side of the house and up the hill across the street. It paused to look at him but just kept going. I looked out the window and saw him moseying up the hill from behind. Been quite the wildlife experience (which we love) haha!
Wait. Where are you living? I’m having bear-envy!
Colorado! For good (well, long term, until retirement hopefully haha)! We loved Cali but more as visitors rather than living there so we both transferred with our company (we work for the same company) to Colorado! We bought in Golden, right outside of Denver. I love it because it feels secluded and mountain-getawayish but is only about 25 minutes from the city. 🙂
Denver is such a great city! So many breweries!
Yes!!! So many! We are slowly working our way through them ha!
So bear-envy AND beer-envy!
Sounds wonderful!
Yay, Golden! My dad went to school there!
It’s so great!
Funny; your wildlife experience sounds similar to that of my sister and BIL, who live in… central Florida! (except for the elks, of course). Several colleagues have moved to Colorado over the past year or so; I think I’m envious.
We really love it so far! I am admittedly nervous about the snow. Being from Alabama I have 0 experience driving in the snow. Even living in NM and California that wasn’t an issue. But my husband is used to snow so he will help me I’m sure and I’m certain Colorado handles their snow well surely!
You smell great! I should try Encens Mythique in the hot weather we are having..
I think it’s so great in hot weather that I wore it twice this week! Give it a shot. 😉
will do!
Wow! Good thing the bear didn’t stop to help him with the boxes. Congratulations on your move, and I hope you settle in quickly and have decades of happiness in your new home.
Thank you! We love all animals but it was certainly surprising for one to be so close lol. He said, “man, if he’d have wanted to get me, he could have- I never even knew he was around until he went right past me like it was nothing!”
Perfumer Dawn Spencer Hurwitz is in Denver and often does collaborations with the Art Museum. I think she has a studio or shop one can visit, but I’ve never been to Denver so I’m not 100% certain.
Oooohhh I did NOT know this. Thank you!!
Wow! We just moved to Vancouver Island and my husband is terrified of running into a bear. So far we’ve only seen one on the side of the highway as we were driving by. We’ve seen some bald eagles up close though.
I’ve never seen a bald eagle in the wild and I’ve always wanted to! How majestic!
Concerning the bears, I think we’d be wayyy more worried if they were grizzlies but they’re black bears around here which *generally* aren’t aggressive unless they have babies with them. Still a little freaky to be so close to one when you’re not expecting it!
Not surprised you are seeing so many critters, since Golden is in the foothills.
It’s ironic, though, that the first bear I ever saw in my life was up in northern New Jersey.
Yep and even though our address is Golden, we live in a community called Genesee which is even a bit father up into the mountains than Golden. I love it though because as I said above it feels remote but I can still be at Whole Foods and the gym in like 12 minutes and downtown Denver in 25 haha. I’m only about 50/50 country/city girl lol.
Are there black bears in New Jersey? Is that was kind you saw?
Happily wearing my HG: Tuberoza. I mentioned several times it smells floral but “delicious” to me. It does amazing in hot weather. It would do perfect in any weather but now having a hot summer as is the case of where I live, Tuberoza does really well while consuming cold ice cream ?. It has it’s sweet orange notes and banana-like tones so I will collect some CP points!!
LPRN Black Perfecto EdP because it jumped into my hand today. We continue with cooler temps and off and on rain.
I must get myself off the couch and continue with the unpacking. Once I got enough unpacked to live, I lost steam. Need to get back at it to reduce the boxes in the garage. Good news is the range hood is finally reinstalled and working. They retiled and did it properly this time. Yay!
You smell great! I drained my decant of that one..
Congrats on a working range hood!
Hooray for the completed hood project!!
Whoo hoo for a working range hood!
Sharing the dreary / hot / overcast / humid July day with others, I see; wearing L’eau de L’Artisan again.
I was ready to eat that image right off the screen!
Aha, I could have worn that today!
SOTM is Kieran’s Rose Ink. Jammy rose and currant, with floral saffron, and some warmth from the amber. It’s translucent but a thick translucent. A distant cousin of Little Flower (also by Jerome Epinette) but not at all like L’Ombre Dans L’Eau (which I find to be very similar to LF). It’s like he took what separates LF from L’Ombre Dans L’Eau and focused on dialing up those notes. Very weak juice tho; wearing 8 sprays and still not getting much projection, and I doubt it will last past the early afternoon. Prjection and longevity aside, I quite like the scent itself.
Drinking Snowflake tea.
Love the name Rose Ink! (Also love L’Ombre, dearly.)
Rose Ink sounds great, both the perfume and the name!
I’m wearing Lost Cherry this morning, it doesn’t remind me of an ice cream flavor at all. More like cherry cough syrup smells.
There must be some bad cherry ice cream that tastes like cough syrup 🙂
SOTM is Rose Apothecary from Beekman 1802, another sample from a recent swap. It is a pretty, fresh, light rose scent, fairly similar to Diptyque’s Eau Rose. Post shower, I intend to test another from the swap trove, Lubin Anna, with high hopes that it will be the beach rose I’ve been searching for.
Ooh, do let us know if it is a good beach rose! I was in heaven a couple of weeks ago when we came across dunes covered with beach roses by the shore in NH. There is nothing like that scent, it’s just so beautiful.
Yes! Don’t you wish it could just be bottled directly? Ahh.
Les Parfums de Rosine has one:
“This Eau de Cologne is dedicated for men and women. Wearing the Cologne Rose Océan means you like freedom, wide spaces and sea air.”
https://www.les-parfums-de-rosine.com/index.php?id_product=33&controller=product&id_lang=4
I think I tried this in the early 2010s and liked it, but may have changed. Or was it one called Rose de Mar (sp?) then?
That sounds great! DSH made one called Beach Roses but I’ve never tried it.
Dipping a toe back in the fragrant waters in one spritz of Bobbi Brown Beach, which isn’t likely to inspire any Tosca-esque emotional lungings in me. Enjoying the cool of the morning before the next big heat wave hits.
I love Beach. You smell amazing.
Beach is such a fun scent! You smell great.
Beach smells great! Stay cool.
Yay! Welcome (tentatively) back.
Hurray for a bit of perfume today!
Wearing Clinique Happy today which reminds me of a Creamsicle for some reason. Little cooler today but pretty muggy.
Love creamsicle perfumes 🙂
SOTDs are: Dame Perfumery’s Chocolate Man on one arm, for Ice Cream CP; Solstice Scents’ Cardamom Rose Sugar on the other, as I think that combination would make an amazing sorbet. Maybe some day I’ll try to make it!
My favorite ice cream flavors combine chocolate and coffee. I don’t eat ice cream often (trying to eat healthy!), but wow, my husband and I had some great ice cream while in NH a couple of weeks ago. My favorite flavor was Coffee Kahlua Fudge. That’s all we had for dinner one night, we were so full after a late afternoon stop at a roadside ice cream parlor!
Coffee Kahlua Fudge sounds excellent!!
Salt and Straw ice creamery (locations on the West Coast) definitely used to have a cardamom, rose water and pistachio ice cream on rotation in the summer. It was delicious!
Trying YSL Libre Intense which is better than original EDP. Something was very screechy to me in the original but the Intense has vanilla and is smoother…though I still discern a bit of screechiness lurking in the background. 😉 Haven’t tried the EDT yet but it seemed to be well received based on what I read on Fragrantica.
Good to know. I found the original screechy too and was disappointed about it.
Ohhh that sounds good. Haven’t tried the Intense.
SOTD is Bengale Rouge. I was really craving something honeyed and cozy today, before it gets too warm this weekend.
I’m so glad I bought a full bottle of this. I was checking out Liz Moores’ new scent Spell 125 and noticed that many (all?) of her scents have gone up in price. Bengale went from $190 to $210. I think I paid even less than $190 because I had a discount code. For some reason, crossing the $200 mark is a real mental barrier for me. Ouch!
Has anyone tried Spell 125?
Bengale Rouge is so beautiful! I haven’t tried Spell 125 yet, I look forward to it.
I just ordered Spell 125 and noticed the general large price increase as well. They started at $140 I think and seem to jump up $20-$30 a crack each time. In business 7 years and third large increase to over $200 is starting to make me wince and think carefully. I try to buy them with discount coupons to make it less painful but it’s really creeping up.
Do let us know what you think of Spell 125! Although at the high price, I’m a bit scared to even try it.
I won’t get to try it until November because it shipped to my US address and I’m in Canada, but I love the brand and incense scents in general. Will report when I can! If the US border opens before then I will have a mule bring it to me. 🙂
Joining the licorice lovers in Reglisse Noire today. Such a great scent that may be fbw!
Seems like we need to do another licorice project!
Just received my package with a marzipan Tuberose – Miller Harris Noix de Tuberose. Love it. First sprit is very almondy and yummy!!
Scent twins with you today Robin. I needed something cheery and uplifting today too.
Hey twin!!
I’ve decided on Plum from Mary Greenwell for today. It does tie in with the theme, plum icecream is certainly a thing in New Zealand and I’ve tried some very nice brands. We have a variety of plum called Black Doris, which is suddenly very fashionable. It’s apparently a cross with the American Doris plum.
I would love to try plum ice cream!
Sounds lovely, and you smell great!
Plum ice cream sounds very exotic to me!
If my little Santa Rosa plum tree ever starts producing, I’m all over this!
Felanilla for me today. Such a great gourmand iris. Fortunately it’s not really hot here and we have had quite a lot of rain. I think all the trees and plants are grateful after 3 consecutive very dry summers.
You smell lovely!
I pulled out SL Louve this morning to wear for today, and am not quite sure if it wins any CP points or not. Well, certainly that cherry/almond note might count, but I’m also picking up a lot of rose by now. Even if a cherry-almond rose ice cream exists, I’m sure I would hate it. I dislike the almond note in all things edible/drinkable with the possible exception of certain cookies. My bottle is more than half gone and I’m sure I’ve probably only worn it once a year so it must just be from evaporation. I don’t like others in the comparison class very much either, and this one only gets a spray on rare occasions like today. I’m picking up just a teeny bit of sour plum too. Mostly this is just sweet sweet sweet!
Enough on that. Report on my air conditioner issues: the one in my house now seems to be fixed, and cools without leaking down into my garage under the kitchen where one unit is housed. My car will supposedly be fixed by later this afternoon, and it’s not bad–I consider any kind of auto service visit that comes to less than $500 a win. Kind of the same for vet visits these days… which I have to try to do very soon since poor Muffin, my kittens’ mama, has an ear infection.
We’re all somewhat lucky here to have overcast skies without much more than a bit of drizzle, which keeps things downright cool, in the low 80’s. That’s a good temp for July in Houston!
I’m glad your house AC is working – that must have been miserable!
Well, it was cooling, but along with that, it was leaking! And I have a little hole now into my garage ceiling. :-(. It isn’t leaking any more, but I’m going to give it some time to make sure before getting repairs done. Luckily, my upstairs unit was not leaking (that’s happened before too) and the big units on top of my house are fine, he said, and don’t need any coolant at least for now. So the overall repair bill was under $200, and when you’re dealing with HVAC problems, that’s pretty decent.
Whew, I’m glad these have worked out relatively well and there is something left over for the kitty!
My kitty Muffin and I send gentle pets to your Muffin while her ear heals! Louvre was in the running when I decided I “had” to get a bell jar. Because I have LPRN BP and Aromatics Black Cherry, I decided the notes *might* be redundant in my collection. (I chose Mandarine Mandarin instead, and it works very well for me.) Also sharing car trouble woes: our ancient but still very fun Buick Century Wagon has had a broken passenger door handle and we finally found a place that said they can get the part and fix it! The car is like a pet that we lavish attention on; it is low mileage but all these little things keep going wrong like cracked door consoles, snapped-off cup holders, and the rust monster. Next year, it will qualify for our state’s “classic car” license plate – now I just have to make it!
Good to hear that your repair bills were less expen$ive than anticipated!
We’ve been visited by Elsa, so it’s been pouring all day. I shrugged and leaned into it with Dame Perfumery’s Monsoon. I can’t for the life of me think of a way to toe this scent to ice cream.
Oh no, I’m sorry about your weather problems. Hope nothing near you floods.
I found Monsoon chocolate company in Arizona. I’m pretty sure they make ice cream!
It’s on its way here!
I am testing a solid of Illuminated Perfumes Green Witch. I like it but find it surprisingly masculine. I’m wondering what notes or combination of notes make it smell masculine. ?
Waiting for TS Elsa (or what’s left of it) to come my way. Right now I’m watching rain come down from a pop up thunderstorm that was generated by the hot and humid weather.
I don’t have just one favorite flavor of ice cream. I veer between several favorites, depending on my mood.
SOTD = L’Eau de Issey Florale EdT. It’s been years since I’ve reached for this bottle. Still smells like I remember, a clean and fresh rose/lily combination. Very long lasting.
I like the Florale version and the summer versions. I could never wear the original though.
I can’t do the original version of L’Eau de Issey either. IIRC, it goes all Windex-y on me.
Too humid today…and we are going to be getting weather ? ?
SOTD = Jo Malone Tangy Rhubarb
Hit the spot for sure. I did not venture to the office because I woke up a little later than I wanted to. There’s always next week since I do not want to mess around with Elsa tomorrow.
Also I think Rhubarb would make a great ice cream flavor so CP points for me!
https://www.instagram.com/p/CRFSNyKBKHc/?utm_medium=copy_link
In other news, I opened my Chanel No.5 L’Eau Mystery Box: a full size hand cream, a nail file and a towel (I have to make it grow in water). It was a cute package. I also got a gift of a teeny-tiny mini of No.5 EDP! I will post this in IG when I get a chance.
Is the hand cream in different packaging than the original hand cream?
Yes, the hand cream in the mystery box came in pouch whereas the original came in a box.
I wonder if anyone makes a Strawberry-Rhubarb ice cream?
Putting that on the to-make list…
Let is know how it turns out!
Yes! Up here in Canada I’ve had it a couple of times at local artisan places as they grow well here.
Sounds like yumm!
That would be nice. Our Wegmans has Strawberry Rhubarb crostata. ?
I love Strawberry Rhubarb anything. :-). But pie or crumble are the tops.
BTW, it’s a Good Thing that you overslept today and didn’t try to go into your office. I heard that portions of the NYC subway system were flooded this afternoon!
Rhubarb does sound like a great ice cream flavor!!!
I started out today in 24 Faubourg. At lunch, I switched to Dior Addict. I smelled fantastic! It’s cool and gloomy here, but the humidity is down so I am happy. Today is my Monday though… yuk.
It might be your Monday but you smelled great today!
You smelled fantastic all day! Mercury must be in retrograde – i got an email today where all references to July were tagged as June and another one that was just sent today began with “happy Monday”. ??♀️
That sounds like a yummy combo/segue.
SotD Allure edp. I did a very restrained single spritz and it got lost during the afternoon’s activities on a warm, humid, yet breezy day.
Thank goodness for that breeze!
A slightly muggy but not too hot day, had a fun outing with the dog wearing Ineke Field Notes from Paris.
You smell nice! Did doggo have to adjust to the new surroundings?
We are moving from our 3rd Airbnb to the house next week Saturday. Yay! I hope once she sees our furniture she will understand we are finally home (I will tell her too). She’s been a bit clingy/nervous with all the moves over the past 4 months, understandably.
Math 2.0? What does that even mean? Does 2 + 2 = 5 now?
