Louis Vuitton Pur Oud ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 1 April 2021 4 Comments

Louis Vuitton will launch Pur Oud, a new fragrance, this month.

Offering the purest expression of oud, an absolute ingredient, the composition of the new scent is made up of three ingredients. "I wanted to offer enthusiasts the chance to smell true oud, which is rare, without altering the scent with additional notes and instead, letting it express itself on its own," explains [perfumer Jacques Cavallier].

The oud is reportedly 10% of the formula; additional notes include the musk molecules helvetolide and ambrettolide.

Louis Vuitton Pur Oud will be €1,200 for 100 ml; 2,000 bottles were made.

What a nonsense it is to release this in the regular 100ml bottle! Obviously it’s not about the scent.

What size would make sense to you?

If they really want pretend to be altruistic & “ offer enthusiasts the chance to smell true oud” then surely they would offer more affordable 10ml bottles at 120 euros each rather than 100ml bottles at 1200 euros ?!

By “enthusiasts” they meant people who will pay for it.
