Louis Vuitton has launched three new* fragrances inspired by China: Tea Storm, Ink Mark and Moon Tale.
Inspired by China’s art of living, this collection of fragrances celebrates the iconic rituals and materials of the land. Created by Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, Tea Storm Louis Vuitton, Ink Mark Louis Vuitton, and Moon Tale Louis Vuitton present three unique scents capturing the refinement, contrasts, and poetic beauty of Chinese culture.
Tea Storm ~ "A moment shared over tea, in the heart of a majestic landscape stirred by water and wind. Inspired by the Chinese art of tea, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud dreamed up an impressionistic, open-air interpretation brought to life by the elements. Lemongrass offers a bright, soaring opening. It meets the radiant freshness of magnolia, unfurling into the velvety floral of Grasse rose extracted by CO2, a Maison exclusive. At the composition’s base is a tea accord that infuses the fragrance with a woody warmth tinged with hints of hay and honey. Tea Storm awakens the senses, enveloping the skin in luminous freshness and renewed energy."
Ink Mark ~ "The momentum of the hand tracing a thought onto paper, the profound aromas of black ink... Ink Mark draws inspiration from Chinese calligraphy, the art of line and spirit. In Shanghai, a city in perpetual motion where ancient traditions dialogue with urban energy, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud captured the force of a contemporary expression—that of ephemeral calligraphy, a pavement art comprised of poems traced out in water. Born of a wood slowly reduced to soot through an artisanal process, Chinese ink inspired a woody fragrance of great intensity. Its depth is found in the warm, creamy sandalwood that structures the composition. By contrast, white incense brings a pure, mineral touch. Amber notes gradually prolong movement, creating a distinctive trail."
Moon Tale ~ "Moon Tale pays homage to beauty rituals as an art of personal expression. Through the radiance of a flaming red, a veil of rice powder, the intensity of the gaze, color reveals a part of oneself. Inspired by the Chinese legend of the Four Beauties — one of whom is said to have eclipsed the moon with her grace — Jacques Cavallier Belletrud imagined an olfactory reinterpretation. The Master Perfumer translated the evocative power of red into a brilliant burst of raspberry that opens the composition. It reveals a generous bouquet of China's most beautiful flowers: peony brings tenderness, revealed by vibrant accents of geranium. Intense, radiant jasmine sambac is enveloped by the freshness of magnolia. For the base, musks impart an ethereal, powdery veil with cosmetic accents. A perfume that’s like a final gesture before stepping into the light amid the vibrant energy of the night."
Louis Vuitton Tea Storm, Ink Mark and Moon Tale are available in 100 ml, in a coffret of all three in 10 ml, and possibly in other sizes as well.

I like the taller minimalistic cylindrical bottles and the especially the color way. If those came in a set of 3 10ml bottles at a reasonable price, I wouldn’t say no, but only 2 of the 3 appeal to me. Maybe good for swapping/divvying up the set? But no matter what, I’m sure they’re more expansive than I’m willing to pay, so there’s that. 🤷🏻♀️
I think I am mostly done with ultra luxury? Maybe? Hermes still sells 15 ml single bottles so I am giving them a pass if they ever again make anything I like, but most of these brands don’t end up making fragrances that make me any happier than things that are much, much cheaper.
Anyway I buy almost no perfume now at any price.
