Issey Miyake A Drop d’Issey ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 23 March 2021 11 Comments

Issey Miyake has launched A Drop d'Issey, a new fragrance for women.

A Drop d'Issey, Issey Miyake's new Eau de Parfum for women, is an invitation to see the world in a new way, to discover the beauty and poetry hidden in nature. With a floral, solar lilac signature, A Drop d'Issey perfume is made in France using carefully selected ingredients. The top note is delicately floral with pure, clear, damask rose. The middle notes magnify the enveloping fragrance of solar lilac with hints of almond milk accord and orange blossom flower. The base notes round out the fragrance with a musky accord of upcycled cedarwood atlas and vanillin.

Experience the enlarging and distorting optical effect of a magnifying glass by looking through the bottle, which combines the simplicity of a perfect round shape with the transparency of the glass. The drop-shaped bottle is designed to be laid flat. A "drop within the drop" on the back makes it easy to hold.

Issey Miyake A Drop d'Issey was developed by perfumer Ane Ayo. It is available at Macy's, in 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum.

Okay, I know that this is a cranky comment, but that bottle would drive me crazy!
Nice in theory, annoying while lying on your dresser.

I agree…I do not like bottles that lie down. But, if someone stuck a gorgeous lilac perfume in one, I would buy it :-)

Ha! Opposites – I thought the bottle was so interesting visually. But I get your point about lying down bottles. Am intrigued by the scent though =)

That’s the one thing I don’t like about DK Black Cashmere. But really, the only thing. :)

I’m actually intrigued by the bottle, but I’d want to see it in real life. I thought the bottle for Vince Camuto Illuminare was so gorgeous in the pictures online, but it’s less so in real life. The central color is not as distinct as it is in photos. This bottle is very pretty, though, and different.

    What is solar lilac?

Lilac and almond milk sounds kind of nice though.

Yes, I like the sound of that combo too!

I am glad to read that Mikaye took the time to carefully select ingredients for this scent. Did they use the random grab while blindfolded technique for prior scents?

A friend of mine wrote this about it on her Instagram
So lilac is not dominant but you can definitely smell it
And there’s a great look at the bottle

Now see, I didn’t know that was supposed to be a bottle at first.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned how this is basically Bulgari’s Aqua Pour Homme bottle but clear.
