Happy Almost-Friday and happy Johnny Appleseed Day. Plus, it's the one year anniversary of the day everything changed.* Birthdays: Ezra Jack Keats, Douglas Adams, Bobby McFerrin. What fragrance are you wearing?
Me: Diorissimo, again. Some day I will have to figure out how many community project points I've taken with Diorissimo over the years.
Reminder: on 3/12, for plant a flower day, name a favorite flower that you grow in your garden (or in a pot?) or that grows locally, and wear a fragrance with that floral note.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
*When everything changed might depend on where you live, but March 11 is the day WHO declared a pandemic.

No 19 Poudre
Though it last a New York minute , I enjoy every minute.
I am in a pair of funky pants and t-shirt, black leather jacket
You look great I’m sure!
I love No 19 Poudre, but it lasts 1/2 hour on me.
I bet you look fabulous!
I have a bottle and I find its sprays more like a mist, so I keep my little sample sprayer and also use that since it comes out more like a stream, and then I can respray on the go. I only have half a bottle of this left only because I have so use so many sprays
Ltsg… you are the chicest person I know! Plus you smell great!
Agreeing with lillyjo. LTSG could open a style academy and I bet NSTers would take all the spots!
Thank you!
I think I need a bottle of this. And maybe that black leather jacket!
Ok..let me know how the shopping goes
You smell wonderful, and when I first wore Poudre, I was just a little embarrassed for Chanel to have made such a fleeting scent.
The pandemic and I appear to share an official birthday but I’m just gonna pretend I don’t know that…
My son got me a potted Arabian Jasmine so for once I can participate in the CP!
It has alot of buds and they smell wonderful. I’m terrified I’m going to kill it so if any of you have care tips let me know! I live in the Midwest so it will be an indoor plant half the year I suppose
In Fleur de Lalita for a day of self-care and no work ?
Happy Birthday!
I wish I knew how to say it in arabic.
Enjoy your plant!
It’s kul sana wa inti tayyiba which literally means may each year be kind to you
What a lovely saying! Happy birthday!
That’s so much more beautiful than saying “Happy Birthday.”
May each year be kind to you, and may this year bring you health and happiness.
Happy birthday to you!
Have a great birthday!
Happy Birthday, Yasmina! Enjoy the day! ???
A very happy birthday to you Yasmina!! What a nice gift.
Happy Birthday! Are you getting yourself a birthday perfume?
Yes! A BUB of Coromandel since my split one is almost finished
Happy birthday Yasmina! That’s a terrific birthday present.
Happy birthday, yasmina. What a lovely gift!
Happy Birthday!? What a sweet boy, sounds like lovely gift.
Happy birthday!
The jasmines that I’ve grown need a good amount of water. Not to the point of being waterlogged, but regular watering.
The ‘Maid of Orleans’ sambac jasmine I have was getting yellow leaves from a shortage of iron. It’s called chlorosis, and I suppose it’s the plant equivalent of anemia? I put the recommended amount of drops of a liquid fertilizer that includes chelated iron into the water in the watering can, and the plant has bounced back amazingly well. The yellowing leaves became green again, it grew some new shoots with properly green leaves, and it started blooming.
I think the tender jasmines I currently have inside, close to the windows, were happier being outside through the summer. Once the temperature outside doesn’t go below 55 or 60 degrees F or so at night, they can go back out for a few months. The best thing to do is to put them in the shade on the front porch for a few hours a day, then gradually get them accustomed to the full sun. Otherwise, the leaves will burn. And I need to remember to water them, since they dry out quickly outside when they’re in pots, too.
Good luck!
I’m screenshoting these tips – thank you!!
I don’t know what type my jasmine is but I’ve had it for 8 or so years, and I do what Neyronrose says; I am in Zone 6. It has gotten a touch of powdery mildew over the winter some years, but recovers when it gets back in the warm sun – I just wipe off the mildew, thought I think I did use an organic spray once. I especially think the recommendation to gradually re-introduce to its preferred full sun is important. Mine is in a huge pot, and has a bush form. I give it a rough shaping every year or so, and I use the granular potted plant fertilizer each Spring. They are a delight on a Summer night. Happy Birthday, too, Yasmina!
Happy birthday!!
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday!
Many happy returns. ?
Happy birthday!
Thanks all for the bday wishes!
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday! ??
Happy, happy birthday, Yasmina! Seconding neyonrose’s comments on jasmine and adding a few more. I also live in the Midwest and have a potted jasmine plant I’ve had for many years (it was in a small pot when I got it and is now 5’+ tall!). Jasmines like humidity, so during the time it sits patiently inside near a window in my bedroom during the cold weather a humidifier is always nearby. And I spritz it also when I water it. In early spring I begin to fertilize it. Once the temps reach no lower than 60 degrees at night it moves outside onto the sunny deck just outside our bedroom and perfumes the night air all summer long – it absolutely loves our hot, humid summers. Wishing you many happy years with your son’s beautiful gift!
I agree, jasmines and gardenias (same family) love humidity. My FL home has loads of jasmine vines.
Thank you for these tips! How often do you water it?
I water mine deeply once a week when it’s indoors, but it’s in a large, deep pot. Outdoors, it depends on whether we have rain or not.
Oh, good points about the humidity and the other tips there! And gosh, that got to be a big plant, huh? I may have commented on NST last summer about how the tender jasmines were thriving outside here when the weather was extremely hot and humid. At least something was happy about that weather. lol!
Do you think I should keep it in the bathroom? There’s some sunlight there and its more humid then any other part of the house
Sounds like a good idea. Mine gets partial sunshine when inside and even gets some blooms while indoors but bursts into bloom from the heat and humidity when outdoors.
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday!
Wow such a cool gift! Happy bday.
Happy Scented Birthday Yasmina! I hope that your gift will grow strong and make you happy for many years. ????
I found an almost empty decant of Annick Goutal L’Ile au Thé. It was from a freebiemeet and I had never smelled it. AG does such good citrus scents, and I can smell the tea in this one. I emptied the small decant, and now I need another (larger) one.
I have seen that on discount sites..just fyi
Le temps d’une fête. Halfway through my small bottle, but fortunately I got a large BUB, when I still bought those. Went for a nice walk at lunch time. The weather has been blustery and rainy today, but I was lucky to pick the the right time between two serious showers of rain. Dramatic skies, crisp but not quite cold air, and some sunshine. Wonderful!
So glad I bought my big bottle of that before it was discontinued. You smell gorgeous!
I am so bummed that one was discontinued! What a gorgeous fragrance, and perfect for Spring.
You smell fabulous! I’ve got a large bottle and a BUB.
Morning all! My SOTD is the original Jessica McClintock by Jessica McClintock with wet stemmy greens, cassis and Lily of the Valley. This is one of my favorite soliflores.
Very sleepy, class ran late last night, I could go back to bed but I’ll walk in a few, after the rain subsides.
I’m trying to set up my Smart Band watch to track steps, I found one for $12.99, now I have to set it up. Since when did type look this small?? 😯
Will anyone be willing to loan their five year old to me for assistance setting it up?
I found a great ginger/scallion sauce recipe, which I served over baked salmon and noodles last night, if you google Francis Lam’s Ginger Scallion Sauce it will pop up. It was delicious! It would make a nice marinade for chicken if I add fish sauce and soy sauce.
Oh, that does look delicious!
Thanks for the tip. I just tried making something like that recently and the result was very disappointing. I’ll be glad to try another recipe!
I added four cloves of garlic to the recipe, I felt it needed a little *more*. It worked perfectly.
The scent sounds lovely, but after years of holidays where my sister and I were forced to wear matching Jessica McClintock dresses, sometimes with my mom in the “mother’s dress” version, I don’t think I could bear to wear anything from that house again, even a perfume. 🙂 My sister and I would burn those photos if we could.
Oh, I know how you feel and don’t blame you one bit! I am not much of a ‘floral’ fan, but when I do it’s normally LOV, Gardenia, or Tuberose, but more green/florals like Michael Kors and Jessica McClintock-type scents.
Aww, now – I bet you all looked very sweet!
You smell wonderful: Jessica McClintock is one of my vintage treasures.
I remember that the perfume smelled lovely back in the day.
I never remember enjoying it when it was first released. But lately, when someone walks by and I ask what they are wearing, it’s usually Jessica McClintock.
I’m wearing the garden I want to have. Bee’s Bliss.
My new backyard is snow-covered dirt right now. It will become lawn, but we are only about 20ft from woods. So not sure how much we will do in way of flowers or plants back there. I like that unimpeded view of the woods.
Off to make sandwiches.
Hopefully the snow will be melted by the time you move in! The pile in my backyard is really shrinking this week.?
In a flower I wish grew in my yard: FM Eau de Magnolia. I have a serious crush on magnolia trees, and when I visit my sister in Georgia, I go around shoving my face into their giant blooms. I love this scent, but I still wouldn’t say it’s my perfect magnolia fragrance. Could anyone recommend another good one?
En Voyage Zelda has a gorgeous magnolia heart note. Samples are available too.
I like that FM!
Apparently Sous les Magnolias by Pierre Bourdon is the closest. No longer to be found I’m afraid.
Having never smelt the kind of magnolias you are referring to, I can’t be sure whether it actually smells like those.
Good luck finding a perfume that smells like Magnolia grandiflora. 🙂 It is a wonderful scent.
In Courrèges Blanc. A beautiful, soft, woody iris scent that I enjoy, but I forget to wear it often!
Another gorgeous sunny day in the 60’s. I have all my windows open and it feels energizing! ?
A croissant with custard cream and my second cup of coffee with a pinch of turmeric. Thank you, Marjorie Rose! It tastes wonderful! Another spice for my coffee added to the list.
Planning to take a long walk outside and enjoy the warm temps, while they last.
Happy almost Friday, everyone! ?
Yum to your breakfast!?
Passing you some! ?☕?
How are you feeling today?
Still yucky, but I made it to work. 4 more hours to go. I hate it when I have to face the fact I’m not young anymore. Thanks for asking ?
I hope you feel better soon!
I’ll join you on that walk (and breakfast, too, please ;D) as we also have gorgeous sunny weather that needs to be taken advantage of!
Enjoy! I am on my way out now! ?♀️
My watch says high of 73 and low of 54. Time was when a high of 54 was most welcome. I am going to whine that it turned too warm too soon!
We reached 63 in my area. We will be back to the 40’s on Saturday, so you still have plenty of time to enjoy cold temps!
Courrèges Blanc is wonderful, you’ve reminded me that I haven’t worn it in a while.
I don’t wear it often either, so it was wonderful to revisit it!
Temps for me were in the low 70’s. You won’t hear me say this often, but today was too much, too soon.
We didn’t reach the 70’s here, but I agree it was too much too soon for you. The changes in temperatures have been drastic. As much as I like warm weather, I hope summer doesn’t get insanely hot this year.
I’m going to start the day with Songes and let the jasmine waft while I go for a short run.
I was sad to leave well established star jasmine vines I’d planted at our old house and have been trying to get a couple of vines established at our new house. There’s nothing like that heady scent on a summer night.
I adore those vines, but it looks like most of them around here got killed by our deep freeze. I’m so sad.
Rose continues with Rosine Rose d’Homme. Love this one.
Tested Clinique Wrappings out last night and this morning. Not quite sure about it yet. But back in Hedonist and heading to work.
I respect Wrappings but it is not really me 🙂
I put on a dab of my beloved Shalini this morning. Probably not my #1 anymore, but still a favorite and certainly the most expensive perfume I have ever bought. (Current prices are starting to catch up though.)
Shalini story: One time a friend picked me up from work and when I got in the car he said, “did you just take a shower? you smell really fresh!” I was really surprised because I had worked all day and participated in a yoga class at lunchtime, no shower. He made a couple of other comments as well and then I remembered I was wearing Shalini and I think that must have been it (despite it only being a couple of dabs from the morning…)!
I haven’t heard of that one,but I like that story.
I love to hear everyone’s perfume compliment stories!
I’m in JHaG Musc Invisible and getting close to thunking my travel spray. I think I’ve become anosmic to this one. I can smell it when I first spray and then within a couple hours it is gone. It wasn’t like that when I first started wearing it, I’m glad I didn’t go for the full bottle.
It seems fitting that on the one year anniversary of the day everything changed that I got an email from my daughter’s school saying that she will get to start in person school two days a week on April 20. I am so happy for her that I could cry. This year has been so hard on her, as it has been for so many kids.? Better days are finally coming!
Happy for your daughter! I’m sending mine back next week for 2 days. I’m hoping in the fall we will be able to get back to normal within the school system.
Thanks lillyjo, yes my daughter will go back two days a week too. Two days is definitely better than no days. I hope the fall will be normal too!?
Good news that more kids are headed to classrooms, even if it means a hybrid schedule.
L’Artisan Mont de Narcisse after a workout and shower.
Please tell us about Mont de Narcisse!
I think it is very beautiful, and when I first smelled it, I knew it was full bottle worthy. Powdery leather and smoke..
In Memo Argentina today.
Gosh I love this ouded rose.
And the bottle – stunning!
Adding this to my list of things to try!
I’m in vintage Chamade extrait today, thanks to Aurora who reminded me of it yesterday. I start dabbing this one and I’m overtaken by a desire to bathe in it! Gloriously sunny today after several darkly grey days, and last night’s raindrops are still sparkling on all the plants outside. Switching gears a bit too hectically between getting a habitat restoration construction project out for contractor bids, getting my son squared away with Zoom-dergarten, and prepping for my dad to show up and celebrate his birthday tomorrow. All good projects, but my fluster-cup is always filled to overflowing so the stress comes to the surface a bit too quickly…
And you smell wonderful of course, it is so long-lasting too.
I was commando all week because of a very strong reaction to a medication I was taking when I got the vaccine. Feeling better today so dabbed on a tiny bit of Shalimar, which should be safe, but perhaps my bottle is turning. I should have followed Robin with Diorissimo.
Tomorrow will be Diorissimo or Muguet Porcelaine. Not sure we can plant anything at our condo. The HOA has lots of rules. Gave all my LoTV and plantings to family and friends before we moved from our old house, since they were bulldozing it.
That sounds scary, glad to hear you’re feeling better.
Thanks!
Yikes! Hope you are feeling MUCH better.
Thank you! One day at a time, as they say 😉
Ouf, glad you’re feeling better but also yay for vaccination!
Absolutely yay vaccine. My doc said to take Benadryl or similar before the next one, Tylenol or Advil after.
So many floral perfumes to choose from for me… 😀
Maybe iris when I get the chance today.
Pretty sure I’m going to need to do a floral *month*!
Great idea, Isabella! 🙂
I’d suggest a perfume with all the flowers in it, but I know that your parental units would not be happy with that choice.
LOL! You know them so well from my descriptions. 😀 I may go with a spritz or two of something flowery at bedtime. I really didn’t have the chance to put on a fragrance during the day today, but I did work out in the yard for three hours. Fortunately, I remembered sunscreen and a hat.
Part of the time I was putting hardware cloth protection around my roses, part of the time I was clipping the grass around my garden plants with those spiffy grass clippers, and part of the time I was placing lots of “T-shaped” plastic labels that had the name of the kind of flower on it next to said plant. I think I had a couple dozen labels that said “daffodils.”
We’ve got a number of drifts of snowdrops in the back yard, and a few smaller patches near the front porch. I saw the first crocus blossom in our yard yesterday, after the snow had melted on the hill in front. It was a pink “tommy” crocus. Today there were a couple of the pink “tommy” crocuses, a couple of little patches of ‘Mammoth Yellow’ crocuses in bud (I guess they’re supposed to be mammoth-sized for a crocus…?), and a ‘Cream Beauty’ crocus open.
Keeping it simple today, just some Rose 31 body lotion.
I picked many lilies of the valley for my mom growing up. There was an old, deserted house down the block that had a large patch of them under a big oak tree and I looked forward to picking dozens of these each year. The smell, of course, was magnificent.
Oh, I wish there was an abandoned patch like that near me! I have a very hard time picking my own — it just seems wrong.
Interesting morning…6 inches of snow overnight, and of course I just bought a 2WD car. Took a couple tries, but I was able to get out of my driveway after a ridiculous amount of snow brushing. Before that, I managed to break my first glass sample vial (a perfume lover’s milestone, probably) trying to get the stopper out. Not a complete shatter, but the top where I guess I pushed too hard. A smarter person might have just tossed it out, but it’s Iris Torréfié, and I’m under an irresistible coffee-floral spell, so I scotch taped it back together with a resolution to get it used up over the next couple days.
Iris and coffee? My nose can’t quite picture it, but those are basically my two favorite things!
It’s a mellow coffee with a heavy dose of cardamom…perfect for the general vibe today. ❤
Ugh, 6 inches! You have my sympathies.
And scotch taping a chipped vial — that is serious determination 🙂
I’m wearing Vanilla Flash from the purse stash today.
People are nuts story-
A customer comes up to me, and pulls a wooden candle stick holder out of a plastic bag and says “is this your tag?” I look at it and tell her no, it was not my stores merchandise. She then tells me that she wants to return it because bugs were eating the wood, and she had brought the bugs with her in the bag! Thank God, I had not touched the merchandise or the bag! This candle holder was $7.99. I ask you dear nsters, would you have tried to return this? Because I would have thrown it in the outside trash immediately!
I am now itchy all over! I hope she doesn’t transport other people in her car because … yuck!
Right!? Gross.
I was once forced to call a manager because a customer didn’t believe e when I said that we can’t return used toilet seats. Some people bring their wallets and leave their brains at home.
I had a guy bring me a griddle and his pancakes. He wanted to prove the griddle couldn’t cook them correctly. Lol
Honestly what you have to deal with, the mind boggles ?
I really should have written it all down. I feel though it gives me a pretty good perspective of my fellow humans, lol.
Wow and yuck! That’s all.
I haven’t tried any of the Flash series but I’m sure you smell great!
I can understand wanting to return the candlestick holder, especially given its condition. But I cannot understand why the customer kept trying to do so once you confirmed it did not come from your store. Logic fail! So sorry you have to deal with all this.
Oh. My. Word. That is a legendary story and NOT in a good way!!!! Bless you for dealing with customers (of other stores, even!)
That is a true CSR’s Topper Story! I love your sang froid – as a fellow long-time CSR/front line person, one must be ready for anything. And yes, if I got a cheap item and thought it had unidentified bugs, I would trash it ASAP – maybe even do *something* to kill the bugs first.
I have no problem with returning most items, but I could never transport unidentified bugs to give to unsuspecting strangers for 8 dollars.
That is beyond nuts! What if those were bedbugs? I’m getting skeeved out just typing the words.
Someone (I’m sorry I don’t remember) mentioned Jil Sander No. 4 yesterday and I immediately wanted to put some on. But I waited until this morning. Wow is this gorgeous stuff. And yes when I read the list, it’s got just about every flower on the books in it! On Monday I went to a garden store and bought four geraniums with bright red blooms. The world outside is so brown and dead here right now, and my mom always brightened up her porch with bright red geraniums in blue and white Chinese pots. She also had a white wicker front porch set (two chairs and a table) and would keep a blue and white plastic tablecloth on the table. With the white porch rails it always looked so pretty. I’m not at all fond of the smell of geraniums, but love how they look. Ours tend to get killed by the summer heat, but hers always bloomed so beautifully in the Michigan summers. Anyway, this scent is supposed to have geranium in it too but I’m not getting it through the plum, peach, rose, and bergamot. I’ll keep sniffing to see if it shows up. It’s a bit cloudy out by pleasant and I plan to go for a walk this afternoon to look for nesting birds–there’s an area where dozens of large herons and egrets always come to nest in the spring.
Your mom’s porch sounds really beautiful
That sounds like an ideal front porch to laze about on! I put two red geraniums on my (very small and furniture-less) front porch a few months ago, and am trying to encourage them back into lushness after an unfortunately hard freeze back in November.
I used to live near a blue heron rookery and the constant pre-teen-heron chatter was hilarious.
Red geraniums in blue & white pots sounds beautiful!
You smell wonderful and we do geraniums in pots at our house too: the deep red ones. Deer mostly leave them alone, and I love the spicy smell when I deadhead them. I just recently got a travel spray of current version No. 4 and am getting to know and love it.
Goutal Grand Amour for the hyacinths that are starting to poke through in my backyard. I think they got frozen last year, they were a little sad, hoping for better this year.
You smell lovely, Grand Amour is really close to Chamade.
All the mentions of jasmine have me reaching for A La Nuit today.
You smell great!
Gorgeous!
Still commando — I felt really awful for about four hours this morning (18-22 hours after Pfizer shot #2). Now I’m just very tired but otherwise okay. Just sitting in bed trying to catch up on work emails, posting new assignments, etc. I will probably go do Infusion d’Iris again. I have a lot of it, I like it, and I expect it will not wear badly even if I’m feeling a little off for the rest of the day. It is warm here today — about 72F — but overcast. We have windows open and I am loving the smell of fresh air. Our kitty is very happy, too — he is a window cat.
Hope you can continue to take it easy today, and that you feel better quickly!
I hope you are better soon.!
Hope you are feeling better soon. I love window cats!
What Gail says!
Feel better. Hugs
Window kitties are the best! Feel better.
I hope you feel better soon. Opening the windows for the first time in spring is always such a wonderful moment!
Yes; I did it yesterday.
Yes to window cats! Hope that you feel better soon.
SOTD = Serge Lutens Borneo 1834
Today, patchouli is a flower and I will award myself CP points ?. Such a gorgeous scent, not as strong as I thought it would be, but great as is!

You smell wonderful!
Wow, the Vanille Havane split went quickly!!
It was a smallish bottle to begin with!
That looks like a well-used bottle on your Insta of the Day!
Very windy still today but no rain so that’s an improvement on yesterday. Wearing vintage Jardins de Bagatelle edp which is an actual garden in Paris.
It’s clearly getting close to lunchtime here, as I mis-read that as “Jardins des Baguettes” and immediately started to salivate…
? Ah, yes Paris is famous for its baguettes too, they are better there than in the provinces, enjoy your lunch.
You guys!! That is hilarious and I want a baguettes and I love Jardins de Bagatelle! It’s a cheap thrill, in the bee bottle if you poke around the web, just sayin’
?
beautiful!
Thank you, it is a very radiant perfume for sure.
Lately, I’ll take rain over wind.
Woke up to a brilliantly sunny morning and an only-minimally sore left deltoid – hooray! Very nearly joined austenfan in Le Temps d’Une Fete, but then my eye fell on the bottle of Memo Italian Leather. Sniffed the sprayer and decision made! I may have slightly over-spritzed – I was in my closet spraying, and right after that Mr. G hollered “what smells so good?”. The scent traveled all the way out of the closet, through the bedroom door, and down the stairs! ?
Ha! Making the house smell glorious on such a day! It really is pretty out!
Hello all!
1) A sunny, chilly morning! SOTD: Jo Malone Rose Soap & Electric Rhubarb from Floral Street. Very zingy, green fruity, with a drydown that sticks close to the skin.
2) Making a batch of super rich turkey stock- apparently everyone in Portland is making stock/bone broth and there were no chicken backs to be found! I could have made beef, but it’s a two step process that I did not want to do. But there were turkey trimmings to be found- wings and necks, which is cooking down into a very rich and smooth broth. I put garden thyme, sage and parsley in and it smells like Thanksgiving in here! 🙂
You’ve just made liquid gold! Don’t know that Jo Malone, but I am a fan of rhubarb note.
Oh how you are right! I drank a cup for lunch- I made a quick soup with some spinach- and it is truly wonderful. i felt satisfied and energized; I kept working all afternoon with NO BREAK and great focus.
Oh if you can, check out the Jo Malone soaps- they are a really great way to wake up- or go to bed- and they scent the whole bathroom so nicely.
Commando today except for TF Champaca Absolute lingering from last night. Some soreness in my arm from vaccine round 1, but otherwise no issues. Did have a crazy dram last night that I was showing COVID symptoms and had to convince everyone it was bc of the vaccine and not bc I had it. Also I had to take a final exam that I didn’t study for. Not sure why my dream self didn’t just say, “Yes, I do have COVID, so I have to take a make up exam after I recover” and then spend the time studying, but I guess I’m OK with my dream self being honest to a fault.
Need to re-test a a couple of my Regime des Fleurs samples. The sample set came with a $40 off code that expires next week, so need to decide which, if any, FB to order.
My arm is already better after Vaccine #1 and it’s my 2nd day.
Why do we dream stuff like that? I had those college dreams forever – I signed up for a class and never went and then had to take the final, you know the kind of stuff. And I would NEVER do that!
Stress dreams, maybe?
Sunny and currently 68 in NYC! I have managed to finally unpack some of my perfumes and am going to work my way through some questionable bottles. Today I’m wearing vintage No. 19 edt which seems to be off. Or I’m off!
Eeek…maybe just the leftover juice in the atomizer?
Yeah, I thought so too but I’ve sprayed it a bunch. It could just be that the top notes have disappeared – it’s a galbanum bomb now. When I have the chance I will make it into a store to spritz myself silly with the current version.
Oh no! That’s a bummer about your vintage No. 19.
Ostara for the daffodils that are blooming on just about every block of my neighborhood.
You smell lovely!
You smell wonderful, but no daffodils here ye, just the leave poking up.
My precioussss! I adore Ostara, will probably wear it tomorrow for the CP. Today’s SOTD was Jonquille de Nuit. Very nice, bit I love Ostara more.
Waiting for my PT consultation.
No perfume but will be spraying some Orpheon later at the Diptyque Sniffa. ??
Woohoo! See you then!
Hope your PT is going well, She-ra.
Fingers crossed that today went well for you, She-ra!
It’s my only day this week with no medical appointments, so I’ve doused myself in Kenzo l’Elephant. I’m in a cloud of spices!
I’m very much looking forward to the weekend.
You smell terrific!
Yikes. That’s quite the schedule! Hopefully when everything is done, it’s done for a good long time.
Dabbed on Bukhara from my sample that arrived yesterday. At first sniff, it’s amazing with a similar opening to ISM. I may have to apply a bit more to see how long it lasts on me.
This one sure is getting a lot of praise! I haven’t found anything from this brand yet that agrees with me.
Oh, interesting! Do you know what it is you may not be liking?
Twins with Robin today in Diorissimo. It’s getting a lot of play this week, and I’ll probably wear it tomorrow too.
Both you and Robin smell wonderful.
One of my favorites, you smell great!
Very late , but hey twin!
Lots of rain this morning, having a spot of sun before the next showers move through. Wearing Sous le Toit de Paris.
You smell really nice!
Angels Share again today, followed by Pamplemousse Rose tomorrow because I found it in a suitcase pocket. Sampling, sniffing, and perhaps purchasing this weekend. I’d like to smell the newer Memos and TFs.
In Guerlinade as my hommage to Lilac. I have had En Passant but don’t currently so this is the next closest thing I have.
I love Lilacs and can’t get enough of them this time of year. We have light purple and white varietals and the smell is intoxicating.
One of my favorite smells of spring is lilac bushes in bloom.
Lilacs are so beautiful. My climate is too warm for most of them, but I’m able to grow dwarf Korean lilac (“Miss Kim”) in pots, so I get some of their fragrance.
Got a case of the grumpies today. Our truck has a safety recall issue. Stupid scammers left a voicemail on my phone. And a couple of small irritants that feel much bigger because I am ticked off to begin with. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. ?
SOTD = still in Scentgrrl’s Tilting At Windwills.
Hope your grumps manage to shake themselves off! Car recalls are always super frustrating.
Would you believe I feel better having unloaded a bit? The positive power of kvetching, I guess.
A lot of “small” things accumulate to make a bigger whole. I hope they get resolved. The scammers have been calling earlier AND later!
The truck thing will get resolved, eventually. It’s one of the defective airbags, and right now, they don’t have the replacement. And since it’s on the passenger side, and currently turned off, I’m not majorly worried.
I wanted to kick that scammer where it counts so badly after that phone message! Lots of red flags there letting me know it was BS.
Sorry for the grumps – your fragrance name sounds perfect!
Thanks! I’ve enjoyed my sample of it, but that’s all I will get of it. Sometimes indecision is a credit cards best friend…
Ugh. I hate those days. Then again, happiness can arise seemingly out of nowhere on other days. So freakin’ weird…
Hope you will feel better soon!
Thanks, Holly. Friday’s coming!
Hope tommorow is grump free!
Thank you lillyjo!
SotD Jorum Studio Phloem for a gloriously sunny morning and afternoon.
Walked 2hrs today amongst other things, and combined with yesterday’s workout and today’s, my legs officially hate me… but it was so sunny and mild out today I couldn’t resist!
Getting ready to have some Japanese curry and rice for dinner. I subbed in black oyster mushrooms for the normal meat added to the dish and am quite happy with how it turned out!
That curry sounds delicious – I love certain of the popular-in-Asian cuisine mushrooms, but I can’t identify them very well.
What do you think of Jorum Studio? I’m curious to try some of the scents, which I haven’t done yet.
SotD EL Beyond Paradise, for the hyacinth note and the CP. About a month ago, I notice two hyacinth bulbs I had meant to plant last fall were sprouting on a shelf in my garage. I took no action for another week, and then felt bad and just half-planted them in a pot of my over-wintered porch plants. Low and behold those bulbs shot out a mass of white roots, so I covered them with more dirt and now they have grown flowers and one is blooming. I love Beyond Paradise, but I am taking Fragrantica’s word that the sweet floral is hyacinth.
I thought the original bottle for that was SO pretty! Unfortunately, Beyond Paradise has never worked for me. ?
It’s funny, I’ve never smelled hyacinth in Beyond Paradise. I like BP a lot, but the best hyacinth I’ve smelled to date is Jo Malone’s Blue Hyacinth, which is photorealistically like an actual blue hyacinth.
SOTD IS Tom Ford’s Jonquille de Nuit, for all the daffodils now in bloom where I live! I like it a lot, but I prefer my beloved Ostara.
