Rabbit rabbit rabbit! Welcome to March. It’s also Monday and Zero Discrimination Day. Birthdays: Frédéric Chopin, Lytton Strachey, Glenn Miller, Ralph Ellison, Robert Lowell, Harry Belafonte, Roger Daltrey. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Diptyque L'Ombre dans L'Eau.
Reminder: on 3/5, for National Absinthe Day, wear a fragrance with an absinthe-related note (wormwood, fennel, anise, etc). If you don't have one, maybe wear something green and herbal?
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

March at last! The post office has come out with a stamp for the first of the month (only for overages, not a Forever):
https://store.usps.com/store/product/buy-stamps/brush-rabbit-S_740304
Have a small samples shipment out for delivery, so will be trying something new today.
Cute bunny stamp!
Nice stamp. I still have many non-forever stamp stamps and have been slowly using them. This would be good for the 29, 32 and 33 cent stamps.
Whenever USPS puts out animal stamps, I get them and then never use them because they are so cute and I can’t part with them. At least this one looks like it is the same image for the entire sheet, so I’ll be able to use most of them. The sheets where each one is a different picture – I’m hopeless. Is there a word for stamp collectors who only collect animal stamps?
yes, my sister.
Your sister sounds lovely
Great stamp, thanks!!
I remembered my rabbits
In a Chanel body oil today
Thrift store outfit Black jean leggings this top https://images.app.goo.gl/y7Wdezq3pBobpmqBA
I realized I have had not strong caffeine drink today..going to remedy that
Oh, which body oil?? I love Chanel body products, the creams are so luxurious.
I agree! They do have fantastic body products.
I have this one, which maybe discontinued?
https://www.chanel.com/au/fragrance/p/122980/gentle-oil-les-exclusifs-de-chanel-gentle-oil-hair-and-body/
They now seem to have four body oils (on the U.S. site, anyway): Vanille, Orient, Rose and Jasmin. Wondering if anyone has tried them? (They are not inexpensive.)
Nooo, they are pricey…
I wish I read this before! I was just at BG’s for their beauty event and I could of sampled these..or tried to anyways!
How was the serum you tried over the weekend?
Really good!
Its the Vitamin C serum from La Roche Posay. It was moisturizing and I felt I didn’t need anything else. I have been trying to use it at night but sometimes I use it in the day time and slowly easing into it since I have read your skin can really purge! The days I don’t use it I have been using bioderma hydrating serum and a mix of some Chanel skincare/samples.
The Vitamin C has a slight fragrance but nothing too over powering.
Oh, where did you find La Roche Posay?
Duane Reade/Walgreens
Good to know. I use a Vitamin C from The Ordinary, but I generally like La Roche Posay products.
The Ordinary didn’t sit well with my sensitive skin
Good to know. I’ve been thinking about adding a vitamin c serum to my routine. Skinceuticals is the one I see mentioned all the time. I tend to have sensitive skin so new products make me a bit nervous.
Later this month I will be one year younger
So I think its time I add some anti aging steps to my skincare. I have sensitive skin, so some of these French brands like avene LRP and bioderma are easy for me to use and not too expensive.
I love Ole Henriksen’s Truth serum. I cheat on it from time to time, but I always come back.
I love my Perricone vitamin C serum. Even got rid of some bumps on my temple which had been there for a year.
Cute! Hope you got your caffeine in!
Yay—spring is here or at least coming AND I remembered to rabbit last night thanks to hajusuuri’s late post.
I do have an absinthe fragrance to wear for Friday, but today I’m going to wear my vintage Je Reviens (my first real perfume love from back in the day) in honor of spring returning. Yoga first!
You smell great!
31 days of food fortune!
I am glad I am not the only one that thinks of March 1 as spring, or at least, the end of winter.
Happy March 1st. It is the first day of meteorological spring. The first official day of spring, the spring equinox, is in only 18 days. I am starting my spring like and green perfumes and home fragrances today. L’Ombre dans l’Eau is a perfect choice.
Smelling amazing today.
Ha, see my comment above…and I did not even know it was the 1st day of meteorological spring.
Good morning all, my SOTD is Clarins Eau Des Jardins, very similar to Diptyque’s L’Ombre Dans L’Eau but softer with less fruit notes. I also have the Sunshine fragrance from Clarins, it has a wonderful herbal hay note, with yellow flowers mimosa and linden.
I could go back to bed and sleep another 10.
After last night’s Zoom with class members, I was so exhausted, I went to bed at 8pm last night and slept 10 hours.
I’ve got a mammogram and an MRI test scheduled for later today – fun times…
Everyone have a wonderful day today! I’m off for a four-mile walk!
Wishing you well for your medical appointments, and enjoy your walk.
enjoy your walk and good luck
I hope all goes well. Have you found some new great walks at your new place?
Good luck and big hugs for your appointments today. I had an MRI post car accident and was not a fan.
I have had perhaps a dozen MRIs and catscans in my life, and never fun. I do NOT enjoy the feeling of the conrast medium–makes me sick to my stomach!
I hope it is a better experience for you, SmokeyToes!
Hope you’ll sail through the tests.
Hope your results are good, a mammogram is no nice procedure.
Good luck to you!
Hope you enjoyed your walk and your tests aren’t too bad!
Hope that your mammogram and MRI went well today!
SOTD: HERMES EAU DE COLOGNE.
Two of my favorite musicians were listed in the birthday.
Happy Birthday Rodger.
Ok now I am wondering if the other is Chopin, Belafonte or Miller.
Good morning! Today’s scent will be Iris Ukiyoe; I had to read it from the sample to spell it correctly. Something floral-y to celebrate the beginning of March and upcoming spring, perhaps?
Additional birthdays today: Lupita Nyong’o, Tim Daly, Justin Bieber, Paul Hollywood, Catherine Bach, Ron Howard, and Jensen Ackles.
you smell so pretty! I keep forgetting to pull out IU to try it out in cold weather.
Ooohh Paul Hollywood. I have a crush on him ha!
Have a doctor’s appointment this afternoon and perfume will have to wait until afterwards. I was thinking of no 22 either vintage edt or current edt. When I wore Ubar last night and earlier this morning, I knew that it wouldn’t be a good idea for the doctor’s office.
No 22 seems an excellent choice.
No. 22 is amazing. Wish I had a bit. I had a sample a while back and it’s the only sample I have yet to drop and break on the floor. I was so sad that after I cleaned up the glass I tried to rub the scent on my arm from the floor haha.
YAWN. Husband’s pager went off multiple times overnight. I forgot my rabbits. Forgot it was March. I may need a nap later, whaddya think?
My samples are mocking me. Yesterday I was doing the happy dance for getting to the bottom of the Sample Sea… then I found another bunch of samples. ARRRRGH! So, no SOTD, just more samples.
I think naps are the best thing ever. Besides thin mint cookies.
Haha, I just bought two kinds of Girl Scout cookies on Saturday, and that was one of them! The other box was Peanut Butter Patties. They’re already almost gone!
Gone faster than rabbits, Calypso!
But I say: revel in your sample troves–they are little drops of gold or at the least, a chance to try someone else’s creative work (even if you hate them). There is no deadline to finish, really, right? I personally LOVE sampling and keep some as a “scent library.”
I love your recharacterization of Mt. Sample as a library – I’m going to adopt that attitude!
I keep a scent library too. But to be honest, the to-be-sampled pile had gotten so large it felt like a burden. I am much happier to be (nearly) dug out.
How do you organize your scent library? By house? By main notes?
Right now my small collection is group by house using the tiny jam jars from Bonne Maman’s advent calendar (the best advent calendar!), lined up in a shoe box, but it requires an unsustainable amount of hunting and pecking.
You just inspired ME to take a nap as well haha.
I’m moving back to working through decants and minis. First up is Oeillet Bengale.
Yum.
Scent twins with Robin! Though I’m in l’Ombre Dan’s L’eau edp, not the original edt. This is one that I sometimes find irritating and sometimes find sublime. Today it’s sublime!
I didn’t get to read the weekend pill until late last night, but I was so pleased to see so many happy vaccine posts. My state and county seem to be woefully behind the rest of the country, but still—hope is in the air.
I am grateful to hear so many folks are getting vaccinated, too! Like maybe we can believe normal life is coming back again someday.
Hey twin!!!
PA is doing just dismally with the vaccine, not surprisingly. I had a pipe dream that they’d offer the J&J to everyone this week, but ha, no.
I was so naive! I really thought that being a teacher and in 1b, I might be in the pipeline by now or not long from now. I have all but stopped reading the weekly emails that just say “we don’t have enough.” But I’m in my 30’s and healthy, so I won’t whine too much. Maybe PA will get its act together soon?
Looks like they are possibly going to move teachers into 1A later this week, at least, that’s the rumor. But whether they will get their act together to distribute properly and fairly, that is another matter!
There were a lot of very talented people born on this day. Forgot the rabbits, but happy we are out of February. Now to leave the Feb doldrums behind.
Wearing Bulgari Black, because I clearly crave vanilla on rainy days.
Interesting, BB was the other choice for today that drew me in (kind of the opposite of the Je Reviens I ended up with). Maybe tomorrow!
you smell great, we are vanilla twins, I’m wearing Addict today
The universe is telling me I need to wear Addict. I literally was looking at the bottle today!
I’m so happy we are out of February too!? Longer days and spring is on the way!
You smell super good.
I remembered my rabbits when I woke up! I took today as sick day, yesterday was chills and fever from second covid shot.
Thought about pushing through then said nope, take care of yourself.
Slept without moving for 12 hours and no chills, so I am sure the worst is over.
And now I have a day to do whatever. Reorganize my home office, take online training I didn’t do the other day…
SOTD post shower will be Chergui.
Feel better and enjoy your day off.
I love having a free day (especially when I feel okay). And now you are fully vaccinated!!! (And will be smelling good.)
OH, really take the day off and spend it eating citrus fruits and watching old funny movies – give your immune system an extra boost!
I’m so glad you all support my sick day choice!
Good for you for taking care of yourself! ?
apsara, “Nope – take care of yourself” is the RIGHT ANSWER!
You’re the only one who will prioritize you so ? on taking the sick day! Glad you feel better.
Yay for the shot and Chergui!
and I took a nap! or should I say a nap overtook me…
I’m chiming in late with a big YES to taking that sick day today! Also adding my belated condolences on your sad anniversary this past weekend.
thanks Jalapeno,
truly I am glad mom and dad not here for this. it is a gift.
I tend to push through or feel guilty for taking a sick day, but it’s so silly! That is exactly what those days are for. Glad you got that rest.
Sotd is VCP First, even before I remembered it was the 1st and that this is such a springy fragrance. Intuitive perfume wearing.
serendipity! I love First, so pretty and glamorous.
You smell wonderful! I have a mini of that; will have to dig it out.
Thank you!
Speaking of rabbits, there were two big ones frolicking in our backyard last night. They might have been kitten Greta’s first sighting and she was entranced. Hans was sleeping off his wet food and thus oblivious.
Trying two from Une Nuit Nomade today: Fleur des Fleurs and Murmure des Dieux…both florals w/ vanilla.♥️
I have the Nuit Nomade discovery set and the line is well done imo…not a poser niche house.
I love this house. Ambre Kadjar was a full bottle purchase.
I laugh every time you say “poser niche house” ??
“Poser niche house” has definitely joined the NST lexicon!
Forgot the rabbits. Ah well. At least it’s no longer February.
Still fighting with the Massachusetts vaccine system, pathetically broken. Tempted to drive right to Moderna in Cambridge with a sleeping bag and a box of dry cereal and refuse to leave.
Spent the weekend trying Chanel samples. Le Lion was a definite no: bandaids and gasoline. I didn’t get the lemon and vanilla Angela mentioned in her review until eight hours in. Box of Eels was a maybe, need to try it again.
Happy Monday all.
Ha, knew just from the notes/description that Le Lion would be a no-go (feel like the only one around here uninterested in sampling!) Props to you for putting up with it for 8 hours.
Hope your luck turns around on the vaccine front.
Which others did you try? Any favorites? I have decant of Le Lion and it’s a bit much for me too.
Tried Bois des Iles (maybe); Coromandel (hard no); Paris Riviera (maybe); La Pausa (maybe, first impression is pencil shavings); Paris Venise (no); 1957 (may try again); and Paris Biarritz (no). None of the 5 variants work. I like Cristalle and love 19. Maybe I’m not a Chanel gal. Someone is going to get a lot of samples.
I hope you prevail against the vaccine system soon!
Maybe wait for the J&J shot? It’s one and done and no sub-zero refrigeration needed.
With my health issues I’d rather have Moderna or Pfizer but at this point I’ll take what they give me. It is making me crazy. I’ve been stuck in the house since last February! So have lots of folks. Crazy times.
Dior Addict, my penultimate scent of the month from Fragrantica
I like it the more I wear it, so comforting, and yes, addictive
I mean from Fragancenet subscription, not Fragrantica
I love Addict in it’s current iteration almost as much as the original. I’ll put it on later.
I remembered my rabbits, but was somewhat dismayed to find that the March page of my Nikki McClure calendar appears to be a few crumbs on an empty, chipped plate, with the word “Adapt” alongside. Was hoping for something a little less belt-tightening…
I’m in Sous le Vent and hiking shoes today, which can only mean one thing: the preserve manager is going out in the field with someone charming and handsome.
Robin, you smell great, and I’m delighted by the absinthe theme — one of my favorite notes!
Glad you like the theme!
I just looked at that calendar. Yeah, March is not my favorite month there.
Remembered my rabbits this morning!
SotD my Viktoria Minya custom to bring back nice memories, since it was made in the spring two years ago.
That is a nice memory!!
New simple pleasure: Belgium butter
Oh, my. Toast with European butter is such a wonderful treat on an overcast Monday. I think I prefer salted butter too.
SOTD: Iris Noble EDT
I never understood a phenomenon of salted butter.
Traditional butter in Poland is plain one but those salted ones also started being imported here but I never tried any.
Salted butter is easier for the producers since it keeps fresh longer.
Please say happy birthday to Chopin for me.
Uh, and salt and butter tastes amazing together?!
Uh, and if you add something sweet on top, that’s sweet-and-salty amazing-ness to boot?!?
Lisa D–precisely!
And if you dunk your salted-buttered toast in hot chocolate, your tastebuds swoon with delight?
Yes, Isabella! Although I am also partial to honey with my salted butter and toast.
Scent twins!
We are addicted to Lewis Road Creamery butter from New Zealand, which is the saltiest butter I’ve ever had, but absolutely delicious.
In New Zealand they apparently sell chocolate butter, which makes me want to move to New Zealand.
Will be seeking this out!
Wow, how come it’s March already.
Calling all the rabbits for good luck this month.
I’m in VC&A Bois d’Iris right now.
Smelling good!
Thanks
Wearing Atelier Cologne Mistral Patchouli today. This was my gateway licorice/anise scent.
I do like that one. Nice to see you BobH!
Slept well, woke up to sunshine, and remembered to ? ? ? at the last second. SOTD is Iris Nobile EDT. My state’s vaccination website confirms I am now eligible, I’m hoping that between smelling wonderful and remembering to rabbit, I’ll be able to lock down an appointment sometime soon. Happy Monday everyone!
Happy Monday too, you smell like spring.
Good luck getting an appointment SheriG!
I’m in the dregs of last night’s L’Ambre des Merveilles and thinking I’ll put on some more after my shower. What a beautiful scent it is! My favorite from this family is still the Elixir, though. I did remember to say my rabbits when I woke up briefly at around 5:30 a.m. Then I went back to sleep and woke up later with the word “courgettes” on my lips. I guess I was cooking something in my sleep! I was wondering what they are. I always get them mixed up with “aubergines” haha! Well I know what they are but those words seem strange to me. I’ve been watching that French cop show Spiral and have the sound and rhythm of French speech in my head now. It’s kind of pleasant really.
Yep, you do smell fantastic.
Lost Cherry today. Had a relaxing weekend when I should have had a productive one. I CAN transfer within my company when I move but I’m feeling like a new start is in order. Maybe I’ll look at jobs today instead.
I watched the Golden Globes last night…I know that awards shows are largely a sham dictated by which producers can kiss the most butts, but I like the glam and the nostalgic montages and rooting for my favorites anyway. Doing these things over Zoom is such an awkward affair. The first winner (Daniel Kaluuya for Judas and the Black Messiah, deserved!) almost didn’t get to speak at all because of technical difficulties. Jodie Foster made an acceptance speech in her pajamas with her dog on her lap. They had the nerve to try “playing people off” who aren’t on a stage to begin with – and were kind enough to bother showing up at all after yet another round of controversy about bribes and racism. Hope the Oscars can learn from it.
The awards shows tend to drag on nowadays, I find.
I’ve never minded the length myself. The problem is usually with the annoying host bits like hot dog cannons and whatever…they’ve become self aware about how long the shows are and still doing cringeworthy stuff like that.
I did not watch all the way through, and probably missed some key moments.
The opening was pretty funny, but also surprising. Fey and Poehler really went after the sponsoring organization, not gentle ribbing. They really went after the whole notion of awards for such a weird year and the racism of the Press Association giving out the awards
They deserved it. The HFPA has been a mess since the start.
Hey.. can I bum a rabbit from someone? I totally forgot! Thanks.
I have the late shift today so I haven’t decided on a sotd. So far, I have Narciso for her L’absolu on one hand and Organza on the other, but I think I might wind up in Tobacco Vanille.
I forgot too ?. TV is always a great choice.
I forgot too. I’m sure you’ll smell great whatever you choose! Do you have sun today???
you can borrow a rabbit..pretty sure I said rabbit more than three times for luck
???!
I was in Fidji after a long hiatus (I had thunked a bottle last year so started my back-up) and now testing PdN Juste un Rêve from a lovely NSTer; it’s a lot like Fendi Asja from nose memory. Will have to compare to see if I should go full bottle.
Do you have a backup for your Fidji backup bottle? I think it’s a favorite of yours.
Yes, you are absolutely right Fidji is one of my favorites, I do have a little 30ml BUB ?
Wearing Hiram Green Arbole Arbole Arbole on a very cloudy and cool day.
Very busy working day. I need my third cup of coffee asap so I am able to endure the rest of the day.
I finally finished going thru all my samples and decants this past weekend and I kept only very few that I really like/love and enjoy. The rest went to the good bye pile. I feel so relieved and refreshed that I do not have that infinite ocean of samples looking at me anymore. I am ready now to start exploring new to me samples again!
Next to be purged are full bottles.
Back to my desk for my next Zoom meeting.
Happy Monday, everyone! ?
You smell great! Have a great Monday!?
Thank you! ?
I saw more flavors of Peeps at CVS earlier this afternoon, and thought of you. The one flavor you didn’t mention in your “Peep Watch” was Cotton Candy. Since I was coming back from the dentist, I gave all the Peeps and Easter candy a pass!
I didn’t like the Cotton Candy peeps much when I tried them last year . It just has a slight cotton candy flavor and it was too, too sweet. So, no plans to get that flavor again.
You smell wonderful, I love Arbole. And the green color is so wonderfully spring-like, even if the scent isn’t especially so!
Thank you, Tulipani! I love Arbole Arbole and it is perfect for the cold temperatures we are still having here. I have not reached for it in a long time so it was so good so revisit it!
It’s so encouraging to be increasingly reading about vaccines, 2021 is shaping up to be better than 2020.
I’m wearing a dress I made from an embroidered cream silk that I bought on sale a few years ago. It does look a bit formal and wedding-ish for the office, but I won’t let that stop me! I’m accompanying it with Sortilège from Le Galion.
Sounds lovely!
Ooh! Tell us more about the embroidery and the dress. Shirt dress? Shift? I’ve never made a dress for myself, just some skirts. Not sure I am interested I trying to tailor sleeves. But I am delighted to hear about other people’s sewing projects.
Wearing Chypre Azural from Les Indemodables. It is very nice. A friend of mine spent the weekend here which was really good.
Chypre Azural is very nice. I’m glad you got to spend some time with a friend. It’s good for the soul.
Happy Pulaski Day everyone! Does anyone else here get today off to celebrate Casimir Pulaski? I think it’s mostly a Chicago thing, but it’s a nice treat.
I’m sampling Carthusia Mediterraneo today. Two thumbs up! I think it would be really refreshing in the summer. I like a good citrus year round though.
Never heard of Pulaski or the holiday. But, I enjoyed looking him (them?) up. So interesting!
How does Chicago celebrate?
Yes, he’s considered a Revolutionary War hero, especially for Polish-Americans, and since Chicago has a large Polish population, he gets a day! There isn’t a parade or anything, but there’s usually a ceremony at the Polish Museum. Not this year though, because of Covid.
I might have some pierogis in my freezer; if I do, I’ll make those for dinner in his honor :).
Mediterraneo is wonderful – one of my top ten. You smell great!
Thank you! I think I need a bottle of this
There’s a Pulaski Skyeay in NJ, named after the same Casimir Pulaski!
* Skyway
Cool! It’s probably much closer to where the action was than here!
And a Pulaski Highway down in MD!
He’s more recognized than I thought he was, then!
The guy has been around!
There’s also a Pulaski highway or at least designated part of the highway US 12 that runs across southern Michigan from Chicago (area) to Detroit! I’ve read that plaque a number of times. Lots of Polish people in my neck-of-the-woods in Michigan!
How interesting! He has more things named after him than I knew.
There is also a Fort Pulaski National Monument on Cockspur Island, near Savannah GA.
That would be a fun thing to see! I love Savannah, but haven’t explored the area around it (yet).
It’s back to cooler weather for us here in Houston. I managed to get the dog and myself walked this morning since the rain will come soon.
This weekend, I finished off my small Diorling decant and a decant of Houbigant Orangers en Fleurs. The Houbigant is so pretty. Thank you, kind NSTer! ?
I’m in Baccarat Rouge 540 extrait today, also from a very kind NSTer!
I wish there was more Diorling out there! And Dior Dior, and Diorama…actually right now I can’t remember which one it is that I love, which is just as well since whatever it is, it is all gone!
Am being creative with the embarrassment of riches sent to me by Pixel and am doing a perfume-off: Vanille Havane vs Tabac Rose. Both are very pretty if not groundbreaking. Not much sillage, or my nose is broken.
Is not much sillage good or bad thing?
I like some sillage– Not Georgio Beverly Hills sillage, but at least Timbuktu-level sillage. Of the two I’m wearing today, Tabac Rose has the greater sillage. I’m guessing that if I applied it via spray instead of dauber, it would have plenty of sillange–it seems to have strengthened in intensity over the course of the day!
Forgot my rabbits, but saw three on my walk in the afternoon.
Went with Ajmal Evoke in the morning, later topped it with Perles de Lalique.
My first day at work was okay, thankfully there was not too much to do.
I’m glad you’re feeling good enough to go back to work, and even happier it went well for you!
Good to hear that you are feeling better!
I forgot my rabbits until I went down to the kitchen this morning and saw the date. ?
I’m in JD Duality from a new roller ball. I’m not really a fan of rollerballs but I didn’t want to commit to a full bottle. It’s the oil version.
The sun is back again today.?? I had a terrible dream this weekend that I was watching the news and the weatherman was predicting highs in the single digits again this week.? Thank gosh it was only a dream. I can remember a St. Patrick’s day a few years ago when we hit 80!
That is called a nightmare!
I’m wearing TF Wild Cherry today. I was so tired yesterday I went to bed at 9:30, woke up at 7. I might do the same tonight.
Lost Cherry, not Wild. Need more coffee.
I think Wild Cherry sounds much better!
Blech. Makes me think of cough drops!
Scent twins!
March is in like a lion with snow flurries after the temp was 60F yesterday. Wah. Wearing Chergui, I think it’s good for changing weather.
I’m still doing the old movie watching and have a crush on Douglas Fairbanks Jr circa 1932, dear me. I may have a crush on Barbara Stanwyck, too, she was so good in everything!
Wow, what a weather swing! I *thought* I saw some tiny snowflakes out the window this morning, but I ignored them and they went away.?
Love Barbara Stanwyck! And Bette Davis too. Also Irene Dunne, I adore her little laugh.
I don’t think there’s another actress as good as Bette Davis, possibly ever. And Irene Dunne was pretty adorable
Love Irene Dunne. Apparently she didn’t like her role in Life With Father. I thought she was hilarious. The “pug dog” scene is one of my absolute favorites.
Love both Fairbanks and Stanwyck. She could do everything. Comedy, drama, noir, westerns…
Reading NST and eating lunch on my sunny porch today! It’s like 55 degrees F, no wind and the sun is shining!
My porch smells like toasted cumin today. Must be something delicious happening at the restaurant next door.
I am wearing non-spring-appropriate SMN Ambra, which is lovely, even if a bit weird with the sunshine and cumin!
We might get to 55 later this week, and then I will be on my sunny porch too, yay!
Okay, peeps, just checking in for a moment to say I’m wearing several spritzes of Anarchy, which is a long lost dupe for Black Cashmere, also long lost. Gosh, I wish I would have purchased several bottles of either the original or the dupe, because I smell marvelous!
When I was a newbie perfumista, one could still buy Black Cashmere at the discounters. I didn’t understand then, what I do now about how such things become precious and rare so quickly! I haven’t heard of Anarchy, but it sounds like I’d like it.
You rebel you ?
Precisely!
Remembered my rabbits today. Said them last night bc I was up after midnight, and then again when I woke up this morning. Hopefully they don’t cancel each other out!
SOTD is Little Flower. It was on my to-try list for a while. After Robin posted the NY Mag article last week about sample sets and saw that the one from Regime des Fleurs included Little Flower I bought it. That post should have been labelled as a lemming. It is quite pretty – at first it reminded me a rose-heavy L’Ombre dans L’Eau, but the tea note becomes more prominent in the dry down. It is a dry (as in not, sweet) rose but not a powdery one. There is a bit of citrus warmth, but no sharpness. I really like this. Will have to test it again Chloe Roses to make sure it isn’t too similar, but I’m thinking this is FB worthy.
Sometimes if I “rabbit” more than once, I will virtually loan a set of rabbits to someone who forgot.
Ha, figured that is how that post would work out!
It is snowing here. Not flurries, real, persistent, lake-effect snow. But I suspect it won’t amount to much.
Commando as yet — had a checkup this morning with my GP and the day has been so crazy that I haven’t had time to spritz anything. I will remedy that now, as I grab a snack and change into comfy clothes for our monthly Zoom faculty meeting. I am expecting it to be a doozy.
A doozy does not sound fun — hope it went ok!
Shalimar edt
You smell amazing, of course.
Hey, y’all! I actually remembered my rabbits this morning for like the second time ever! Sooo happy it’s March. Had a pretty nice weekend and wore warm scents since it was pretty warm here. Chameleon on Saturday and Osmanthus Interdite yesterday.
It’s back to being chilly today and I am in Nishane Patchuli Kozha which I am LOVING these days. I will be sad when my sample is dry.
Oh, and you smell GREAT, Robin!
And I thought about you when I heard about Lady Gaga’s dogs!
So horrifying! And I read an article that apparently, stealing French bulldogs is an issue now. Has happened in LA, San Francisco, and Phoenix. I will lose my mind if someone tried to take my boy!
Really curious what ya all will wear for absinthe day. Love anise type of notes. I heard real absinthe tastes like black licorice which sounds amazing to me. Like an herbal black licorice? And it is fun the way it is served with the flamed sugar cube. Sounds like a fun experience.
Also fennel sounds perfect right now..going with Bois Farine, from a decant. And it’s low. Sigh.
Is there fennel in Bois Farine? Lol..smh I thought it had some.
I had a drink called Raki made of grapes and anise. Let’s just say I felt it go down like fire ? down my throat and my poor stomach. I wouldn’t be surprised if it caused microtears on its way down.
I’ve got the L’Artisan version to wear on Friday.
Same here, I’ve only tried it once so Friday will be a good reason to wear the L’Artisan sample again.
I need to do some digging and see if I still have any of that! But otherwise maybe Anisia Bella, which I haven’t worn in ages.
It’s actually rather dangerous to serve absinthe with the burnt sugar cube. There’s enough alcohol in it that flash fires can occur. Bad idea.
March is lion-ish here; it’s cool and gusty today. I forgot my rabbits this morning, just as I always do, but am cheered by today’s photo — those bunnies remind me of the ones that crashed my niece’s outdoor wedding reception a few years ago. Cute as could be, and a nice memory.
I’m wearing the last of a sample of Secrets du Paradis Rouge, which I think is lovely, even if it isn’t entirely “me.”
Off now to try to catch up on several days’ worth of NST posts.
I “rabbited” at midnight and again when I woke up this morning, so I have some spare rabbits you can have! ???
Greatly appreciated; thanks! I’ll share any good luck I have this month with you, J.
Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit! Dentist appointment earlier today, and a mammogram done on Saturday. ‘Tis the season.
SOTD = Oriza L. Legrand Reve d’Ossian EdP, from the sample stash. Incense is perfect for a cloudy, rainy day. And sunny days. And snowy days. And windy days. And so on…
We’re twins with the incense! Need to post my SOTD!
Hiya incense twin! We smell great!
Definitely the season…
I’d rather deal with medical appointments this time of year, then in November or December. Too much crazy.
Should be “than in”. Whoops!
No rabbits for me. Thunked my travel spray of Jasmins Marzipane, but I thankfully have a bigger back up bottle awaiting.
Undoubtedly TMI, but a challenging morning here. Colonoscopy scheduled, with miscommunication on time. Which meant I had to set my alarm for 3:45 am to drink more of my prep solution in advance of 10 am procedure. Just as I was heading out the door, I get a call that my procedure was at noon. Sigh. I could have slept a bit longer and even had a couple of sips of coffee and water. The good news is I felt like I got some good sleep when they knocked me out. Good enough to be able to walk home afterwards.
Even better….my husband finally called his diabetes nurse practitioner who got us referrals for vaccines (we qualify) – appointments scheduled for tomorrow! Which means we will be able to get that done before our move. So grateful. I especially wanted him to get the vaccine.
Yay for your vaccine appointment!! And also yay for finding the silver lining in having a colonoscopy! Hahahaha. Your month is off to a good start.
Ugh, colonoscopies are not fun at all. ? But wonderful news on both you and your husband getting the vaccine!
I said extra rabbits and, according to Jalapeno, we can share – so please have some of mine
Good news about the vaccines!
Ugh, sorry about today’s mix up, but yay for the vaccines!
I actually remembered to rabbit this morning, thanks to hajusuuri’s reminder yesterday. It’s my first time remember since learning about this from NST a few months ago!
I’m in Neroli Outrenoir today; tea + orange blossoms. Seems quite perfect for this spring-like day!
I should start collecting enabler pins for reminding people to rabbit ?.
And you smell really great!
Cute pic!

In other news, I did not know / was not aware of the Levi Strauss x Target collaboration. I’ll wait for the things to go on sale but I couldn’t wait and got me a cute something. I will post on IG within the next few days.
Do you have a “Sporty” Owl, too?
Not yet ?
