It’s Almost-Friday and Inventors' Day aka Thomas Edison's birthday. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in vintage Diorissimo. Loyalty, honesty and hard work might be stretching it, but it's as dependable as they come. I am awarding myself a partial point.
Reminder: on 2/12, welcome the Year of the (Metal) Ox! Wear a fragrance that represents diligence, dependability, loyalty, honesty and hard work.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: shown is the B23 High-Top Sneaker ("It is distinguished by the layering of transparent cutouts and black and white Dior Oblique canvas, further embellished with a DIOR AND SHAWN signature and an embroidered ox head patch, the capsule’s emblem. The style adheres to the high-top sneaker’s timeless codes with its front laces and eyelets, its white rubber sole, its reinforced rounded toe and back tongue.") from the Shawn Stussy x Dior Chinese New Year capsule collection, $1,300.
Good morning Y’all!
I’m back in Rebecca Minkoff EdP today…..3rd wear in a week. Good stuff….tobacco, vanilla, and some leather. Mmmmmmmmmm
Mmm indeed! You smell great!
OOH!
I saw that on sale at Marshall’s and wondered about it!
The top notes are a wee bit synthetic, but the dry down is really really soft and cozy to my nose! I paid $19.99 and love it!
Soft and cosy for 19.99 is a BARGAIN! In the perfumath it’s FREE! 😀
I’m in classic Old Spice today, since I’m in need of some comfort. Old Spice has become a major comfort scent since I bought a bottle last year.
I LOVE Old Spice. My grandpa wore it and I LOVED him! 🙂
I keep a bottle on my hubby’s side of the sink and sniff it (and him) often….and I wear it sometimes to bed!
Randomly grabbed a sample vial of Cara by Farmacia SS. Annunciata, and it is…. vanilla macarons soaked in more vanilla and buried in baby powder. It’s *really* powdery. And honestly very nice, but there’s just SO MUCH of it. I can’t quite imagine owning a whole bottle, because how would you ever get through it? Your great-grandchildren would still be wearing it, one tiny spritz at a time.
And perhaps you’d rather they not 😉
Oooooof. Baby powder is one of my “Nope!” notes. Thanks for the warning.
I tried Cara, hoping for vanilla, but all I got was a powder bomb.
In Jo Malone Red Roses to continue with my rose week and to fight with its brightness another cold, grey and boring weather day.
Second cup of coffee, as usual as this time, with a challah roll and a thin slice of quesadilla cheese.
Last night, I made baked feta pasta from the recipe shared by Tulipani (thank you!) and it was really good! Leftovers for dinner tonight.
Now, back to my working desk.
Happy Thursday!?
Happy Thursday to you too, you smell wonderful ?
Thank you, Ringthing! ?
Red Roses is so, so lovely. You smell glorious.
Thank you, Ede! It is such a beautiful scent, but unfortunately it doesn’t get much love in the perfume community.
Which is strange to me: it’s a perfect green, fresh rose! I like to get the mini spray & the soap every spring! 🙂
I love the soap! ?
I like Red Rose a lot but in a side by side I found I preferred Paul Smith’s rose for it’s effervescence (probably given by the green tea). Perhaps my results were skewed as I tried it against Malone’s RR bath oil. In any case – I would be very glad if someone gave me a small bottle of RR – 😀
I have never tried the Paul Smith’s rose, but the green tea note makes it sound good!
Yay, I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the feta recipe!
And you smell fabulous!
Thank you, Tulipani!
The pasta was really good! Looking forward to finish it in a while! ?
Red Roses smells like it would be perfect as a shower gel. Not sure why the perfume didn’t quite move me. ?
I have not tried the shower gel, but the bar soap is really nice.
I feel so hungry today..
Had three pieces of toast and some fruit but still not satisfied
SOTD Boy
PS
Had a good outing with Mr L for our afternoon date
I felt so so good in my Shalimar Ode à la vanille, my favorite smokey sexy vanilla
LTSG, when I was making chai tea last night I remembered your father-in-law. I hope you are able to enjoy again his delicious chai tea soon!
Ciao PL67,
Thank you so much for thinking of him. Next month is my birthday and it would be a year since we have seen each other. Mr L and I had planned a trip for my 40th and the day we were suppose to leave (and leave the kids with my in laws) the hotel called and said that they were closing down and not to come. I am so happy they did, we would of been stuck in Africa. Mr L jokes with me that I would of been stuck, since Canada fetched their citizens and he is still duel citizen. ha!
So we found my inlaws a airbnb and they stayed for the time we were suppose to be gone.
My father in law thinks his chai tea is the secret to his longevity and energy, along with eating turmeric daily. They think the spices help keep your inner digestive fire burning which is helpful in your overall health. He is a hoot!
A few days a week they have story time with my kids before bed and they sing gayatri (spelling ?) mantra. So far they are good spirits.
I spoke to my father in law once over Skype and told him how much I missed his tea and he got very emotional.
You are very fortunate to have such wonderful and loving father-in-law. Let’s hope for better times to arrive soon, so you can all share with him again. No doubts spices are great support of energy levels and health overall. I wish I could be more disciplined about that. He will live a very long life!. You were lucky to not be stuck in Africa, but at least there is always the excitement of that trip in the future!
yes, excited to possibly visit in the future. That is my whole reason for studying Arabic 😉
I am in L’Heure Blue EDP. I can not think of any link to the Year of the OX.
I would say you get points!
LHB is lovely.
It’s been diligently made since 1912?
There ya go.
In Zoologist Hyrax today, two tiiiiiiny sprays from my sample so as not to gas anyone. No link to Year of the Ox except that many people find this one smells like cow patties (not unfairly) so I try to be conservative in applying!
Today’s first coffee survived to be drunk, we’re off to a great start!
I should have new pillows in 6-8 weeks (I found my ideal ones but they were out-of-stock in store) and am starting to field tentative requests for availability for summer projects. I won’t say the light at the end of the tunnel is definitely there, but it’s nice to imagine it may be if all goes well these next 5-6 months.
these must be fancy pillows if they’re worth waiting that long for! Anytime I see the word pillow these days, I have to think of the SNL skis with the my pillow guy – they are pretty funny (but not per se about pillows).
Mostly it’s worth being able to go and pick them up in store!
The doorbell to my apartment is broken and the door a full floor below the apartment itself, so we almost never hear when deliveries are attempted.
But given that the pandemic has made knock-and-drop deliveries the norm, I get anxious when bigger or more expensive packages are delivered and then sit outside on our stoop for hours sometimes!
No coffee spillage – it’s a win.
Hyrax is pretty beyond the bounds for me! But I’m keeping my sample for scientific purposes.
Yes it’s a LOT even with just a little!
Although the good news is I figure if anyone can smell it they’re WAY too close to me in these COVID times, so if their nose is offended so much the better ?
Yay for keeping the coffee under control today! ☕
Eau Premiere, perfect CP fit for me. Often, when I wear this or Shalimar, I wonder why perfumers even bother these days to try to create something better. That’s kind of oxen, no?
Definitely! We are house twins today.
I agree with this statement! Eau Premiere and Shalimar are so beautiful
Oh yes, you smell simply perfect.
I watched a brief video on YouTube about an exhibit of Frida Kahlo’s personal items, and as the camera panned past one of the display cases, right there was an empty bottle of Shalimar! I love it when I see perfume bottles on film or in photographs. I do not wear Shalimar myself, but I absolutely adore the classic flacon, with it’s blue crystal topper.
Twins, and I agree about wearing certain fragrances and just wonder why people still bother about creatine new ones.
Triplets with you and austenfan! And yes, I also think that Eau Premiere is a great scent.
I can’t do No. 5. But Eau Premiere smells great to me!
Agent Provocateur Fatale Pink — it is very pleasant.
I don’t think I tried that one. HAGD Barqs!
Kept forgetting to post for the past couple days. Yesterday and this morning, I wore Epic and now a tiny dab of Deneuve extrait. Will be finishing an Evergreen candle tonight. Thus far, I have 14 weeks of candles figured out and then I can head into my spring summer candles.
Wow! I own 4 candles, total.
Right now I think you might own more than me. However, there could be a future candle obsession that hasn’t yet bit!
Which candies!?!
Cire Trudon Salta and Papier d’Armenie (the Armenia year edition) are my favorites. Then I have a couple Otherland candles — they are good but not as good. Plus, have an Ormonde Jayne votive, so really have 4.5 candles.
Of all those, the only one I bought was the Papier d’Armenie, the others are all from Kevin!
Wow candle GOALS! That’s at least inspired me to light one up right now, even though no way do I have 14 week’s worth.
Wearing Chanel 19 today, what could be more dependable and hard working? She’s been my backbone since high school. If 19 was an actress, she’d be Eve Arden.
Ooh CP idea? What performer matches your perfume and why? Or does that already exist? “Performer” covers acting, music, comedy etc etc
I don’t know but I love the idea!
Oh that’s fun! Could always narrow it down to your favorite role of theirs too, in the case of actors.
What a perfect match! I love Eve Arden.
19 was on the list for my pick tomorrow
I thought of this too for the CP
that’s another good one, scent cousin! Perhaps even a bigger oxen than No.5.
What a funny compliment!
Hmm. I think of Eve Arden as pretty cutting. I think of 19 as always perfectly elegant for any occasion, and underrated, except for the cognoscenti, perhaps Annette Benning.
Hey twin! I think it is the perfect summation of the CP except it’s not red ?
In another tea scent today with Berdoues Assam of India. Counting it for CP because it’s loyal to the listed notes of tea, lemon, and sandalwood.
Also because I diligently drink at least two cups of tea a day (though that might be out of habit, and a love of tea).
I drink several pots a tea a day..also a tea lover!
Glad I’m not the only one who counts my tea consumption by the pot and not the cup!
I am in that club too!
I smelled a few of these from Berdoues recently and this was lovely. I love the elephant patterned bottle! My favourite scent though was probably Maasai Mara.
All the Berdoues scents that I tried were great for warm weather but seemed to disappear in cold weather on me.
SOTD is SL Cedre. I’ve certainly been playing with my scents a lot lately (sampling, and re-testing FBs that are in the purgatory box) but not properly “wearing” scents much.
Rain is due later… maybe this afternoon will be a fine time to watch a movie. The Music Man, anyone?
Playing is more fun than wearing!
Very distracting from the ‘just wear it’ project, but yes, it is fun 🙂
The problem is that it’s a bit distracting from everything else one should be doing 😀 But in terms of scent appreciation I do think it tops the ‘just wearing’.
I’m in for The Music Man! And how about The Sting tomorrow?
Ooh, that sounds like fun! I’ve got soooo many old movies recorded at this point. Last night we watched ‘The Two Mrs. Carrolls’ – Barbara Stanwyck and Humphrey Bogart.
I used to have a bottle of that, but I gave it away many moons ago. I remember thinking later that I should have kept it, because I suspected that my tastes at the time hadn’t been developed enough to fully appreciate it.
Also, the older Lutens stuff had some serious chops.
Cedre is one of my favorite SLs. My bottles aren’t old-old… errrr, just checked my spreadsheet and I bought it in 2014 so i guess that’s getting up there. AND it turns out it’s the first SL I ever bought!
You smell wonderful. Today I am wearing Chypre Rouge, which is another SL that I have always enjoyed. This and Douce Amere are probably my favorites.
Cedre is the only SL I own. I think it’s very unique. It really connect with it.
Happy Fat Thursday! I don’t know if it’s a thing about but in Poland it’s a day when you can eat pączki (donuts) to your heart’s content 🙂
I’m enjoying Iris Fauve today.
Here is more common Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday.
Oh, that’s something we don’t have.
It has the same meaning. Induging in paczki or american donuts or any greasy food you like before the Lent season starts. It looks like you start earlier than us here.
Ohhh Polish paczkis are amazing! I spent a week in Warsaw and got several, not speaking or reading Polish I would just point to the ones that looked delicious and seeing as they ALL did, sure enough, a winner every time! Happy holiday to you!
Off to yoga in L’Ivrée Bleue, back to read later!
I can’t wait to be off to yoga again! Enjoy.
Sort of copying pl67 in Ex Nihilo Rose Hubris yesterday and 7 Virtues Rose Amber today. Inching closer to a 4-day weekend and my husband’s birthday!
Oh fun!
Getting into the Valentine’s spirit with some chocolate – By Kilian’s Noir Aphrodisiac. I smell like an expensive tootsie roll.
Ha! I just ate my daily chocolate ration: one chocolate covered orange slice and 2 squares of Theo with coconut. If someone made the fragrance that encompassed all that, I would buy it!
Oh yes!
I’m surprised Sugarfina isn’t making a high-end (or just overpriced) version of tootsie rolls.
I’m testing “For Your Love” from Mizensir. It went on with a juicy berry fun punch, but pretty quickly went into drydown mode. I feel like I have worn a perfume before that smelled exactly like this in its final stages–I can remember my scarves smelling like this long after I wore the perfume–but I can’t recall what it was.
Ah well.
If you remember, come back and tell us! Because now I’m curious if it’s another of AM’s scents.
No Ox points. insolence edp today. Was looking for something dramatic…
And you got it 🙂
Happy Thursday, guys!
1) Started today with a migraine; still a tad dizzy. Meds are kicking in and water & soothing exercise will help.
2) In Boucheron, which is dependable for me.
Hope you feel better soon!
glad meds are working!
Hope it’s over soon.
Oh oh, hope the meds kicked in!
Hope you are feeling better by now!
Popping in on the early side today since I didn’t come by until late yesterday. I am taking Friday off for a four day weekend so have been scrambling to get some things done. I was also glued to the impeachment trial yesterday (and that’s all I’ll say about that). But I did smell wonderful in Ormonde Jayne Woman as part of my interpretation of the CP to wear perfumes I’ve been loyal to for years and that are dependable choices for me.
Today my dependable love is Léa by Calypso St. Barth, which was sadly discontinued. I’m down to less than 10ml in my bottle. It’s a gorgeous almond vanilla musk perfume. I know madtowngirl is also a fan.
Léa – love it!
I just watched a little with my husband, who was home for lunch. Other than that I’m watching the highlights in the evening.
Ooh yes, I’m definitely a fan! I actually almost wore that one today, maybe I’ll wear it tomorrow now. You smell great!
Sampling 4160 Tuesdays Clouds Parfum from an oh-so-generous NSTer. Very smooth 🙂
My foul mood from yesterday is somewhat improved today and thanks to those who commented yesterday…suggestions of more dark chocolate and perfume are always the solution!!!?
Glad you are in a better mood, She-ra!
Glad your bad mood is diminishing! The Clouds parfum is ???.
Crazy morning here. I’m in TF Lost Cherry. Missed my first-thing-in-the-morning yoga, but will get it in later.
Robin, I don’t think I ever posted happy birthday to NST, but here are my best wishes and my gratitude for a wonderful blog and place to connect with perfume friends all over the world! ♥
Thank you springpansy!
I’m in Italian Leather today. I tried wearing it earlier this winter and didn’t like it so had set it aside to wait for spring. Dug it out of hiding this morning and today it’s hitting the spot nicely – just perfect. We’re supposed to get snow later this afternoon, and it will be falling on wet streets so … I agree with pixel that it’s a good day to hunker down and watch a movie ? … provided our power stays on. ?
We got ours overnight, which was convenient. Hope you still have power!
Another morning with unexpected rain, so I won’t be wearing my sandals for the walk to work. I’m coming up blank for the CP, and have gone with something I love, but haven’t worn for a while, Fort and Manle’s Suleyman le Magnifique.
Sandals! Can’t wait!
I postponed clearing out the makeup and business suits from yesterday to today because the weather is supposed to be lousy. I’m wearing Sarrasins and playing Confuse A Cat (an old Monty Python skit) with Dapper. He looks suitably befuddled.
It’s been ages since I’ve seen that Python skit!
The daffodils are happening full-force here, so I’m wearing Ostara to celebrate. Fighting a headache and doing a lousy job of juggling homeschool, work, and single mama-hood today — one of those days where “success” needs to be defined as “everyone got fed and no one got hurt.”
Daffodils already in your area! (sigh). There is still a long way to go from us to see them again! You smell fantastic in Ostara!
You smell great and as the mom of three sons (now older), yes, everyone fed and no one hurt *is* a successful day!
That IS success! And you smell great — Ostara is one of my favorites and I wore it earlier this week to hasten spring. We do have some daffodils starting to bloom, so that’s wonderful.
You smell great!
Hey, that is success for anyone! I tell my son he can blame me for whatever he wants…I kept him alive, so I did my job 😉
SotD is Vanille Havane
From a sample
I love this!
And its perfect for the cold weather we are experiencing right now
Its so cold there were icicles hanging near my window. Some folks have been spotted skating on the frozen ponds and ditches, though I dont think its safe already.
Icicles near your window! I am jealous (Freezing winters are truly exotic to me as we rarely dip below zero…)
I was wondering whether people had started skating already. ⛸️⛸️
Lady Rose Lion, because I wanted to test it again., hoping I will like this blind buy a bit more. It’s not so bad, the peach, Rose and moss are nice. I think I have a bit of a problem with the hay note and the deep balsam. Two tiny sprays last a whole day. I think I can wear this in the cold season, just wishing it would be a bit more chypre like and a bit less sweet.
I did not get a chance to chime in yesterday … glad you’re feeling better.
Testing a couple of By Kilians today – Apple Brandy on one wrist and Angel’s Share on the other (inspired by She-Ra last week to finally get a sample of this one). Both are tasty but I prefer the Apple Brandy. The Angel’s Share is spice-heavy on me and it is overpowering the other notes. The Apple Brandy comes off more balanced, though I wish it were as strong as the Angel’s Share. The combined whiff on these two is quite delicious!
Puer tea from Palais des Thes today.
House twins! Those have been high on my to-try list for a bit but I haven’t gotten to it yet.
Nice to know that the Angel’s Share is spicy! Good intel to have.
Glad to hear it since I already like Apple Brandy and will probably never try Angel’s Share.
It’s cold here. We might get snow this weekend! Kind of fun—I’m wearing a cashmere sweater, alpaca scarf, and red puffy jacket! Nice to get some use out of them! Musk Deer seemed appropriate for some wintery warmth. Also glad to the impeachment trial.
Last night I made a frittata with broccoli, onions, thyme, cherry tomatoes, and cheddar cheese. It as yummy to eat leftovers for breakfast today!
Wow! How often do you get snow? You are really making me want to try that Musk Deer, I just may have to order a sample.
I don’t know, maybe once in five years? And if it falls it’s very thin and light, and doesn’t last. But it’s exciting for kids! We’re somewhat likely to get ice and that can be a total disaster on the roads, especially since Texans don’t know how to drive on ice. As shown by the tragic, terrible accidents today near both Dallas and Austin, where it’s already icy.
I’m glad you got your roof fixed when you did, since we have cold, wet weather, and more on the way. I’m really not looking forward to it.
Seriously, sounds like Texas did have road disasters today…
You smell great and so does your kitchen!
I love high tops and do find the Dior’s interesting but no, I will not be paying that much for high tops in this lifetime.
SOTD: I’m in Dior’s Vetiver AGAIN – vetiver is always a winner in the heat and it’s been a hot day here. I find this vetiver very smooth and easy to wear. I find it works best at a single spray every few hours. High quality and dependable 🙂
Finger exercise!
Yeah, some do pushups – I push a nozzle…once…!
Eau Première, one of the few Chanels I enjoy.
Twins! We smell great! Although, I do like many Chanels.
I think there is three of us already on here today.
Which is your favourite Chanel?
Yeah, I saw that as I continued to scroll, triplets! Well, Eau premiere is probably my favorite. It’s the one I reach for most often, but I also like 1932, 1957, Coco, Beige, no. 18, Coromandel, Bois des Iles, no. 5 L’eau, Le Lion and the Les Eaux’s.
Like a few of you, I was in the mood for roses today, so I put on Aramis Calligraphy Rose this morning. But I definitely feel like I need something else for the rest of the day!
Did you wear something else after?
I tried a sample of BDK rouge smoking. Hmm, not quite sure what I think of this yet. Starts off with sweet cherry and subtle leather, but the dry down is mostly cola-ish on my skin. Definitely not quite living up to the hype!
Such a shame that the Calligraphy series is so hard to find now, even at the discounters.
Yes! I only discovered it a couple months ago from a swap, and I feel lucky to have gotten a bottle from fragrancenet. Have you tried the saffron one or the original? I think rose is the ONE for me, but can’t help but be curious about the others.
I thought the Rose one was best. It’s also the sweetest 🙂
I’ve tried the original and the Saffron one. The original had something about it that reminded me of vintage Chopard Casmir, while the Saffron one had an Etro Shaal Nur vibe. Both are very much worth trying. I have a sample of the Rose that I have yet to sniff b/c I have a lot of great smelling things that distract me.
I was stumped by this week’s CP, until my eye landed on a Serge Lutens sample: La Religieuse! So that’s my dependable, diligent, etc. etc. fragrance. I actually like it a lot, not enough for a FB but it’s quite nice. I’ll wear it again tomorrow!
I don’t even think I’ve smelled this one but I am sure you smell good!
Eau Premiere. Friday Eve, one more day and then I have a 5 day weekend. Woo hoo.?
Nice! We are off on Monday for the Presidents’ Day holiday.
Enjoy that chunk of time off!
Five day weekend…sweet! Have fun!
About 3 inches of fresh snow on top of the old snow here today. Makes things look pretty for a little while. ⛄
SOTD = AG Ambre Fetiche EdP again. I can depend on it to smell great, so maybe that’s my angle for the CP.
3 inches also here late last night, on top of what we already have. And more to come on Sunday. All this snow won’t melt until Summer! ??
I think all it would take is one very warm and sunny weekend in, say, April. That snow wouldn’t have a chance! ???
We got four inches over night up here in north-central NJ, with more predicted for almost every day through mid-next week. Punxsutawney Phil wasn’t kidding around about the six more weeks of winter this year! It does looks pretty (in no small part bc Mr. Vee does the snow shoveling, so I get to admire the beauty while staying toasty inside)!
Oooh, didn’t know you live in New Joisey! When we can get together with no restrictions, I will add you to my list to see if you want to do a meet up!
Ages ago, I had a coworker who HATED Punxsutawney Phil with a passion. He would blame the groundhog for all the winter weather, no matter what month it was. I thought that was hilarious. Thanks for bringing up the fond memories.
Dependable is one of the qualities so I say yes!
And enough of the snow already!
Good, because I think I am not a fan of metallic notes in perfume. ?
I had a 2 day break from the snow. It starts again tonight though, and looks like for the next week!
?! “Sleet” has been mentioned for my weekend weather. I hope that is wrong!
I hope so too. My forecast can change between the 5 o’clock and 6 o’clock news!
SOTD = Chanel No.19 EDP
?, but it’s not red, the bottle is not red and the box is not red! Regardless, for Lunar New Year’s Eve, No.19 is particularly perfect because it represents to me the qualities the CP wants to convey: diligent, dependable, honest, loyal, and industrious.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CLKwsIxhcM0/?igshid=19taj6ut8uere
We got snow again last night or perhaps early this morning. All I know is I woke up to see another coating of snow all over and I did not even have time to clear out until a little over an hour ago! No more snow ❄️! I’ll take the polar vortex any day instead if I had to pick a cold weather thing.
I was certain you would wear this tomorrow! Now I’m completely clueless what it will be.
I am with you with no more snow and I will throw in no more ice!
Ack! I’d rather take the snow! My front door is drafty, so the Polar Vortex just saunters in and sits down on the couch. ?
Thanks to everyone that sent good vibes last night for my meeting early this morning. It worked! I finally was able to speak to someone who is going to at least try and help.
I chose Le Lion as my morning sotd. In case I needed to roar!, lol.
I went to the mall this afternoon and spritzed the new Angel Nova. Out of all the horrible ambroxan bombs out there, this is the worst! I hated this so much that it actually made me feel angry.
I’m glad your phone call went well! Yay for good vibes, and you smell great. Once I get out of my little rut, I’ll probably wear Le Lion again. ?
I hadn’t worn it in awhile either. I still think it’s great!
Very pleased to hear that your phone call went well! But “Oy vey!” on that Angel Nova. Mugler has had a couple of big misses for you lately, haven’t they?
Indeed, jalapeno. I think it’s a real shame what they are doing now. Nova had about 3 seconds of promise. I could smell a fruitpunch and ginger ale mix at first, and it seemed pretty fun. I would have liked it had it stayed that way.
Is Angel Nova another pink perfume?
It’s Escada like, but in less than a minute I could only smell ambroxan. It was incredibly strong on me, with only one spray. Without the ambroxan, I think it would have been a flrty summer scent.
Glad your phone call turned out ok, lillyjo! Great pairing with Le Lion!
Thanks Gail! I will have another call next week with the same person, so I won’t be as nervous.
Testing a perfume that makes you angry is a new one for me! Disappointed yes, shocked yes, even appalled, but not angry yet, although I definitely won’t put it past myself… I get mad at having blood drawn for tests and short stories, so I imagine I’m perfectly capable of being mad at perfumes. Hope you managed to get it off in short order.
I really am angry with the company. I understand Mugler wants to make money, but they have really abandoned their fan base. Nova and the last Alien flanker Mirage had no business calling themselves flankers. Maybe if they had their own names, I wouldn’t have cared. I like Aura.
True, there’s definitely a responsibility with a flanker to keep enough of that original perfume DNA to make it recognizable for the fan base.
Otherwise they’re alienating (no pun intended) the very people they’re marketing to. Sorry it was such a bad experience for you!
I’m ok now, lol. It would have been great though to have wanted to add it to my collection. Their loss!
Mirage was a scrubber for me and my sample of Nova has been untouched out of fear. The new ownership is tanking the brand.
Brrrr, it’s cold here! I told the dog for a walk and lasted about 20 minutes. It’s 37 degrees, feels like 28. This southerner really can’t take the cold. I placed a curbside grocery order yesterday, and added more items to the list at about midnight last night, kinda like I do when a hurricane is in the Gulf. Yeah, I’m a little on edge!
I’ve been in Fresh Cream Soft Suede + BBW Vanilla Bean Noel yesterday and today. I need to wear something different tomorrow!
Wow, your weather sounds like something typical for New Jersey at this time of year.
Are you getting ice where you are? I saw the highway accident on the news. It was awful!
The one in Ft. Worth? Yes, it was horrible. So sad. It’s raining here off and on now, but we will have the dreaded wintery mix on Sunday night. Our nighttime temps will be at or below freezing from Saturday night through Thursday of next week. Monday night low is 10 degrees. ? This is not typical of southeast Texas.
I think you’re smart to stock up from the store. No need to drive in a wintery mix if you can avoid it.
Paying attention to a hunch like that is smart thinking! Definitely time to stock up if weather is going to go further downhill.
Wore Aromatics Elixir today.
Like a few others, its so cold today. The forecast shows we should be back to normal next week, fingers crossed. Hope everyone is staying warm and cozy!
You know it took me literally decades to be able to wear AE! I kept trying though, now I love it. I had to just accept that less actually is more with this one. Stay warm!?
Less is definitely more. My bottle is newer, maybe 5 years old; I’ve noticed subtle differences between this one and the version decades back. I remember wearing it to work at an office back in the day?
You smell great!
Thank you Jalapeno. It was finally cold enough to carry it without overpowering my hubby. I have a bottle big enough for 10 lifetimes!
Logging in late to say hello, and report SotD as Modern Muse Nuit. A very successful blind buy and I love the chamomile note. Overall, I find it very similar to Modern Muse, which I like as a don’t have to think go to. I claim a couple CP points for any EL because they are my loyalty scents.
