It's Tuesday and National Pizza Day. Birthdays: Thomas Paine, Carmen Miranda, J. M. Coetzee, Carole King, Alice Walker. What fragrance are you wearing?
Me: day 2 with Uncle Serge, in Rousse. Tea at the moment is Numi Golden Chai. It's cold out there, folks, and I am trying not to think about the fact that last year at this time (and the year before that as well) I was on a beach.
Reminder: on 2/12, welcome the Year of the (Metal) Ox! Wear a fragrance that represents diligence, dependability, loyalty, honesty and hard work.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Starbucks Year of the Ox Teapot and Cup Set, along with many, many other Year of the Ox items, is available in selected Asian countries.
I’m wearing Gallivant Istanbul.
My favorite Gallivant along with Bukhara. You smell great!
Wearing Eau d’Italie Paestum Rose. Beautiful and simple woody, resinous rose scent.
On my second cup of coffee with a big slice of cheese & cream brioche.
Very cold and cloudy day, but I am planning to take a walk and get some fresh air in a few.
Happy Tuesday, everyone! ?
You smell fantastic…would buy that in a travel size in an instant. And please pass the brioche!!
Thank you, Robin! Paestum Rose is decant worth, but doesn’t seem to be widely available. Money saved! ?. I am ok with my sample, though.
That brioche is dangerous! I am scared to finish the whole loaf today. I’d better pass you some!
🙂
I know exactly how you feel about brioche. I’m not sure a loaf of it would be safe around me!
LOL! That loaf will be finished by tomorrow! ?
That breakfast sounds divine!
Passing you some! ?
I wore it last Friday. It’s gorgeous. Nice to see that it is still worn by people.
It is great, indeed! But not easy to find here.
Your SOTD sounds lovely! ?
Thank you! It is! ?
Good morning! I will be in Hermes Poivre Samarcande after my morning (online) yoga. I am a bit disappointed to hear that today is National Pizza Day – I am making quiche tonight and planned homemade pizza for tomorrow—missed it by one day. I like my crust to rise overnight in the fridge so I am not ready to make it tonight. Favorite recipe for those interested (and do watch the helpful and engaging video):
https://food52.com/blog/25197-why-king-arthur-flour-pizza-is-genius
National Quiche Day is May 20…make pizza then and you’ll be even 🙂
Ha!
I use a King Arthur sourdough pizza recipe and often pop it in the fridge overnight! They really have such great and reliable recipes, IMO.
Thanks for that recipe, it looks delicious! I’m a fan of letting doughs rest in the fridge for a day or more to develop the flavor.
Me, too and it’s so easy and so delicious!
Crispy, floofy pizza you cut with kitchen shears. Perfect.
Springpansy, I’ve seen this video before, but totally forgot about it. Thank you so much for posting this! ?
Good morning all, my SOTD is Angel Sunessence Edition Bleu Lagon by Mugler. I do love this scent.
I’m sad to report that Carlos Powell, otherwise known as Brooklyn Fragrance Lover on Youtube, has passed away. Known for his fun and lighthearted interviews in the fragrance community, his quirky kitty cats Jean and Claude, and his warm kindness, he will be missed.
I had just spoken with him the other day, he was so very kind and always excited to catch up and chat.
Yes, very sad news. It appears he died of a heart attack, at only 57. May his memory be a blessing.
I saw someone on IG in the perfume community posted about this
Sorry for your loss ST
Passing you a slice of toast with a slice of love
How is your new place coming along?
We are settled in, and purchased a few things to make it cozy and comfortable.
Now I have to hang pictures, not my forte, unfortunately…
I discovered a nice meat and seafood market in the area, and have two walking routes that I will use on a regular basis. The HS across the street has a stadium, so I plan to walk the stadium steps. 🙂
Thank you L2SM, he was such a fun and kind person. He will be missed. He had two kitty cats, I hope they can be taken in by family and stay together..
Apparently some of the funds being collected towards his funeral expenses will also go towards making arrangements for the cats so they’re well looked after!
Oh what a relief! Thanks for mentioning it. 🙂
It was so nice to see that the gofundme Stephen at Redolessence set up to pay for funeral costs & for looking after the cats is already at 300% of the target so I’m sure the cats will be looked after.
Oh, that’s sad news! I really enjoyed his videos.
Oh no–I’m sad to hear this. And a good reminder to stop my complaining and enjoy life.
True! Life is precious and fragile. Enjoy each moment!
My goodness, he was so young! I am so sorry to hear that.
That’s terrible news! He seemed like such a positive and energetic voice in the fragrance community. You were lucky to have know him.
Good morning Y’all,
Did the ol’ Scentbird roulette this morning and picked Tiffany & Co. Such a nice sweet iris and patchouli. Full bottle worthy for sure….
Still at home with a bad cough but smelling classy wearing Perles de Lalique.
I am getting better, but very slowly
Glad to hear you are recovering, you smell lovely.
You do indeed smell classy. Perles de Lalique is a somewhat hidden gem, in my opinion.
Sending thoughts of deep, unobstructed breaths your way!
And it was really cheap, I think I payed 23 €for a big bottle
Glad you are recovering. The auntie in me can’t resist saying take it as slow as possible…even after you start to feel stronger…
I’m glad to hear you’re recovering! Take it easy.
I’m so glad you are recovering, albeit slowly. And you’re wearing fragrance–that seems like a good sign! Take it slowly.
Take it one day at a time, hoping your feeling ill will be over sooner than you expect. Indeed covid is no joke. I bet you smell great.
Glad you are improving and hope the healing accelerates!
Glad to hear that you continue to feel better.
SOTD
For the CP (represents diligence, dependability, loyalty, honesty and hard work) Alahiiiiiine solid perfume
ROSE D’HIMALAYA tea by MF
Another grey morning, but at least we’re not freezing like those of you in the polar vertex, brrr!
Wearing Iris Torréfié. I have gassed myself out the last two days with strong scents over-applied, giving myself and the orthodontist a break with something nice and light today.
You smell great and its nice to go with something light after a heavy hitter.
Even in this solid perfume today Alahine is quit strong
I have never tried the solid version, but I have the edp and I know you smell gorgeous!
Right now I am wearing both, so you can smell me from across the country!
Also visiting with Uncle Serge in La Fille de Berlin. Some days it’s gotta be roses roses roses.
On both the Lutens and roses fronts, there is also Sa Majeste La Rose — one of Uncle Serge’s more straightforward scents. It’s be-yoo-tee-ful.
All four Lutens roses are good, even Cracheuses de Flamme, and I’ve worn them all, but La Fille de Berlin speaks to me more than the others. It’s the only one I felt compelled to buy a full bottle of, anyway. (But if someone gave me a bottle of any of the others, I’d wear them all the time.)
Hey cousin 🙂
I know what you mean, when I want rose, I want ROSE!!! That might be my favorite.
Got my order from Sonoma Scent Studio, which I had forgotten! So, it was like a surprise gift in the mail yesterday.
As such, I’ll be wearing Bee’s Bliss today.
Ooh, that’s a nice surprise!
Love that one! Such a happy scent.
Nice! What else did you get?
Jour Ensolleille as a BUB, because it’s one of my desert island scents,
I’m back in my sample of Night Flyer, which caused quite a stir when it was originally released as Bat. I am quite undecided about a larger purchase of this. It starts out fun, then is a bit menthol and then settles down in a fig cake fig.
Fig cake sounds good to me, but I plan to be the last remaining perfumista who has never smelled anything from Zoologist.
Oops…hope that isn’t read as a criticism of the brand, they do sound fun!
You’re not quite alone – I also haven’t smelled any of the Zoologists. In my case, I think it’s the labels that are off-putting.
Ditto.
I thought I was the only one who found them off-putting! Most people seem to love the labels. They creep me out like Joe Camel cigarettes mascot! Lol. But I’ll say some of the new ones are cute, like Snowy Owl.
I was bummed when I read negative reviews of Snowy Owl. I’ll take someone’s empty bottle though ?
The creepy factor is what I like 😀
Seriously though, I am not at all put off, I am just lazy! And meant that I mean to go right on being lazy.
Laziness is basically a money-saving technique when it comes to perfume! High five for fiscal responsibility ?
Oh I wish, but it all just get funneled into other things, like furniture & paint & clothing & whatnot.
I decided to wear Jicky today. My grandfather used to wear it, so I feel like I’m being hugged by a friendly ghost.
Continuing on my theme of things-that-smell-red-and-pink-and-Valentinesey, I’m in Rose Flash and smell like candied tea roses.
Oops — I’m not sure why this showed up as a reply to Sistine! But since I’m here, I love that your grandfather wore Jicky and that you get to enjoy such a strong scent memory of someone you love!
That’s such a lovely image!
A very jaunty and elegant smelling ghost.
How lovely that your grandfather wore Jicky, he must have been quite an elegant gentleman.
Your grandfather must have been a classy man! 🙂
How chic that your grandfather wore Jicky, and that you can be surrounded by his comforting aura. 🙂
I love those moments of perfumed remembrance.
Scent: So, I’ve started the day in Jour d’Hermes, and it’s lovely as usual, but I’ve possibly overdone ‘as usual’, and need a shift.
Shift?: Looking at the Le Labo site and assembling a sample order. Who knows, maybe I will actually place the order. This is marginally absurd; I’m looking at their citruses, as if I don’t have multiple other citrus samples sitting about.
Tea: Upton Yunnan FOP Select.
Other: Heading downstate to attend services for an aunt who passed away suddenly this past weekend (not covid). Have to be there for the event that’s from 5-7 Thursday, just need to figure out winter weather logistics.
I am sorry for your loss. Sending hugs.
And you smell great!
I’m so sorry to hear about your aunt. Sending warm thoughts and hugs!
Very sorry for the loss of your aunt. Hope the weather cooperates with you!
Sending more condolences, TeaInTheGarden, and hope you can make it to the service.
Sad news, my condolences and hugs.
I’m sorry for your loss. Safe travels to the service.
Condolences to you on the loss of your aunt, and safe travels to you.
Sending condolences, be careful traveling.
Sending you my condolences! Take care.
I’m very sorry for your loss.
So sorry for your loss. Safe travels.
My condolences. Hope the winter travel logistics work out ok.
So very sorry for your loss; and wishing you safe travels.
Very sorry for your loss. I do online fantasy shopping cart orders too. I plunk samples, bottles in the cart…enter 99 in the count field to try to determine how many bottles they really have in stock…fun games like that. 😉
My sympathies on your aunt’s passing. Safe travels.
Happy belated birthday to NST. Snow today, it has stopped for now but supposedly will start up later, so today is a good option for my stay-home-day-of-the-week.
Yesterday I decided to wear With Love from Hilary Duff. I had bought a full bottle (and even an extra smaller one in my closet) a long time ago and have not worn it in quite some time. It was just as nice as I remembered, maybe not as long lasting as I had thought, but that could be due to age. i think even Robin gave it a passing grade here once upon a time. 🙂
Thank you, and yes I did!
I’m in Perris Monte Carlo Tubereuse Absolue, mainly inspired by my temptation to seek out a sample of the new Tom Ford tuberose scent. Has anyone tried it yet?
Ooh, is PMC TUbersose Absolue really a cardamom tuberose? Those are two of my favorite scents.
Tuberose always smells great on me so I am curious about the new Tom Ford as well. The company seems to add travel sizes on their website about a year after a fragrance debuts. (e.g., Lost Cherry). On the other hand, if his tuberose follows the Fracas structure, there are a lot of less expensive options.
Yes to the cardamom! It adds a bright, semi-spicy green element to the tuberose. I love this one and would own more than a sample if it were available in the smaller bottle.
I haven’t, but I came across a review last night that wasn’t very enthusiastic
https://youtu.be/YmpYneuivE0
Thanks for the link! I can definitely pass on that sample now.
Still lots of snow and still freezing cold here. I’m in Histoires de Parfums Ambre 114 today. Somewhat old-fashioned, classic amber that I like in this weather.
Nonsense, ambers are always on trend. And if you say otherwise I’m not listening to you: tra-la-la-la-la!
Hahahaha!
SOTD is a brand new (to me) love from a decant I received last night, Memo African Leather. I should probably not be wearing this to work, but it’s just one spray, which is plenty, as two nearly gassed out the Mr last night. But still. This could be an expensive love affair…
They do show up from time to time on Fragrancenet, not to enable (no, never) or anything ?
I think I would be happy with a travel spray but the Memo bottles are so pretty…
I have some samples of that one, if you’re in Europe I can send them to you!
Oh thanks for offering! But I’m in the US and the decant should tide me over for a while. 🙂
SOTD La Liturgy des Heures.
Tea of the day, a generic chai teabag plus a tulsi/tumeric/ginger teabag, steeped with some local honey, and a dab of half and half.
Gotta stay warm, it’s cold out there.
Half and half always helps when it’s freezing out!
More snow for me this morning – it seems to be a theme on grocery days! Going with a lamb moussaka for the week.
SotD Zoologist Musk Deer, my little sample is inching close to tinked. I could definitely at least enjoy a travel size of this one!
I liked my sample so much that I went ahead and bought the big or regular-sized bottle. Wore it yesterday and still loving it!
Oh, a moussaka sounds wonderfully warming and filling. ?
https://youtu.be/Z_GcsR7Q99s
I more or less followed the above recipe today but with ground lamb instead of beef, and it turned out great!
However, my absolute fave one is this vegetarian red pepper and goat cheese one from Good Housekeeping:
https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/uk/food/recipes/a538321/vegetable-moussaka/
Finally found and own a lovely incense scent: Ella K Baiser de Florence. Wearing this for days so that’s a very good sign. Sample of Rose Griotte is on it’s way. I should be perfume satisfied….but who ever is??
Not heard of this one – but it sounds like the journey has been long and arduous, so congratulations!
“I should be perfume satisfied….but who ever is??”
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ So true!
We’re having a spate of rather cold weather this week, which might yield snow (pretty!) or freezing rain (yuck! booo!) tomorrow or Thursday, so I’m in Cuir Ottoman today for warmth and coziness.
Nice! I drained my sample of that one.
You smell great!
You smell great!
Yeuck on the possibility of freezing rain!
I’m in JHaG Musc Invisible. Man, I slept like you know what last night.?Hoping for a solid night of sleep tonight. I got a postcard from Jeffrey Dame yesterday, which prompted me to go onto his website and somewhat impulsively buy a rollerball of Duality, which I’ve tried and liked, and samples of vanilla and labdanum. I guess his marketing strategy worked! lol
I got one of their sample packs/offerings ones and it was fun – all kinds of little goodies.
I did not sleep well last night either…must be something in the air 🙂
Hope that you get a decent night’s sleep tonight.
After yesterday’s Sequoia, I am in Bulgari the black which has a similar menthol note to me. It’s really more of a summer/back to work scent for me and so isn’t really working its oxen charms for me on this February day. But it’s light enough where it doesn’t bother me. Should have gone with Shalimar or No.5 or something.
I still need to try that one! But it couldn’t be much of an ox.
I took down the living room curtains to wash yesterday and glanced at the care tag. It said to hand wash in cold water and drip dry. These are four 48 inch wide, 84 inch long panels, not some frill over a kitchen window. I threw them in the washer and the dryer and they came out fine. I’m wearing Le Maroc Pour Elle today, it’s gorgeous in the cold.
You smell great!
House twins!
Way to be brave! Drip-drying drapes that size wouldn’t even be fun in summer, let alone right now – they might not get dry until May! 😀
Whenever I smell this I get this sense of Betty Boop – someone curvaceous and sassy!
Good decision on the curtains and you smell wonderful!
Excellent decision…I would have done the same thing. So many things can be washed in cold in the machine. Some wash instructions are just fear mongering.
Le Maroc Pour Elle is flat out gorgeous.
I got covid vaccin on Sunday afternoon and felt a little achy and overtired yesterday.
I meant to recommend Frost in May by Antonia White, a coming of age story set in a convent which I re-read recently, it’s a classic in the UK and there is a series of 3 following, v good too.
Still a bit tired but proud of our health service, all was organized with military precision, wearing l’Air de rien which is very orange blossomy on me but I like ob/neroli so much that it has kept me happy all day.
Cold for the UK and it was snowing some more this morning, but not to compare with what some of you are experiencing with the polar vortex. Keep warm friends.
You smell lovely!
Thank you Cazaubon, I think there is a small fan club of us who love this unusual scent.
*vaccine, my brain is in French mode, always the case when I’m tired.
Hooray for the vaccine! I know what you mean about tired brain changing your language 🙂 When I lived in France, I would notice my French getting much worse on workdays at around 7pm, haha. (Also anytime I was in a heated argument, my French would break up a bit. Very frustrating, as that’s when I would want my language to be at its strongest.)
Ah yes, I know the feeling well, not being articulate when you need it most.
I hope you have fond memories of France nonetheless ?
Oh yes, definitely. I have vague plans to move to Paris when I retire 🙂 This is made a bit more challenging by the fact that my fiance does not speak French, but let’s be honest, by now, you don’t really need to speak French to get around (most of) Paris. (Where are you from? I spent several years in Toulouse as well, and loved it down there, too!)
I’m from Paris, keep your dream, who knows what’s in the future.
Glad you have the vaccination under your belt, or in your arm as it were. No sign of your envelope from me yet?
Thank you very much, yes it’s a relief. I must confess I haven’t checked the mailbox since last week, will email you soon.
Glad to hear that you’ve had your first shot!
So relieved, thank you.
Yay! Can’t wait for my husband to get his shot Friday, and hope the weather does not interfere.
Something to look forward to, for sure! 🙂
So glad for you, I know it was on your mind.
A wet but warm day here, awkward for deciding what to wear to work. Perfume-wise, I’ve decided on a favourite, 31 Rue Cambon.
31RC could also fit the CP me thinks!
Such a beautiful scent
Inspired by Jessica’s post on her Perfume Professor blog this morning, I’m wearing L de Lolita Lempicka. It’s another from my early perfumista days that I still love. And that bottle is so much fun.
I woke up craving Les Nereides Patchouli Antique so that’s my sotd. My bottle is old and the perfume is very dark and syrupy; I enjoy it more the older it gets. It’s cold here too but we get lake effect snow from Lake Michigan on blue and white days like this, and it’s so light and sparkly….really beautiful if you’re bundled up.
It’s so nice when perfumes improve with age, given how many do the opposite.
SOTD are more incense-y scents, Tauer’s LADDM and Au Coeur du Desert, one on each arm. I can’t detect too much difference between the two, from sample dabs. The Coeur is perhaps a touch deeper, less airy.
Both of your arms smell great! They smell pretty different to me–Coeur feels a lot darker to me, which makes it harder for me to distinguish and enjoy different notes–but they’re both so good. Haven’t worn either in a while. Thanks for the reminder!
I think that the Au Coeur is sweeter and deeper on me than LADdM is. It’s been a while since I’ve worn either of my samples.
Wearing Tom Ford Amber Absolute today in memory of Carlos at BFL – his were the first perfume reviews I ever watched on YouTube
A lovely tribute. He had a wonderful joie de vivre.
I put on Memo Granada this morning to remind me that the sun is shining somewhere, but it is not doing it for me and I think I will take shower number 2 after I vacuum my house.
Maybe I will wear Azemour tomorrow for the same reason 🙂
I eventually decided on Copal Azur as my SOTD, for no other reason than it smells good on me.
Got a text from a neighbor last night, stating that she was happily ensconced on her couch, eating a box of Thin Mints that was just sold to her by a roving Girl Scout. Sadly, nobody rang my doorbell with a cookie buying opportunity. Another friend chimed in, with the news that one can easily purchase the season’s cookies online. Might be dangerous news…….I like a frozen Thin Mint, or seven.
or a whole sleeve. ?
I mean, they’re so thin, after all.
40 calories per cookie…cookie math free 😉
Oh geez, that makes the sleeve option sound very scary. ?
I LIKE YOUR MATH a lot ?
If you freeze them before eating, your belly needs to spend some energy to warm them up, so net calories you are down to what, 35 per cookie? 😉
SotD = Ambre Narguile
Yesterday felt like summer, today smells like winter with AN.
Adorable teapot and cup up top today. I’m glad I can’t get one. 😉 I gave a way a tea-for-one over the weekend. Must! resist! the urge! for more!
Have a terrific Tuesday!
Tea-for-one sets are so cute, but just not practical for me.
agree, the cute factor makes tea-for-one more fun. 🙂 I’m a heathen nowadays, I microwave a mug of water then plunk in the tea.
I sprayed Bengale Rouge lavishly from a sample today. I enjoyed it so much, paid attention to al the phases. I suppose that’s the good part of working alone now. Me and my perfume, my perfume and me. Very intimate. Tomorrow will do the same, lavishly…
You smell wonderful, I love Bengale Rouge.
You smell lovely! I very much admired Bengale Rouge when I sampled it, just myrrh tends to wear me rather than the other way around.
I think the secondary benefit of perfumes is perfumes you can love and admire on others, even if you can’t pull them off yourself!
Yes, this is definitely one of the unexpected bonuses of WFH!
Hi all! I’m using up another old sample today: Maître Parfumeur et Gantier Cuir Fétiche. I think leather scents are just not me. I’d like getting a whiff of them from time to time from someone else more than wearing them all day. I’ll wear an old standby for Friday’s project.
I’m having a glorious staycation despite the cold! When I’m home all morning I make a pot of tea (current favorite is Tao of Tea Rose Petal Black) and drink it over several hours with milk and a tiny bit of stevia.
Some people have better luck trying perfumes with a suede note, rather than a leather note.
Thanks, I didn’t know there was much of a difference! All the leathers I’ve tried have had a pretty sweet base (vanilla, sandalwood, musk, stuff like that), which I’m not crazy about. I’ve never tried Bandit though–I wonder if I’d like that better.
Have you tried the original Bottega Veneta perfume? That one reads as suede and oakmoss to me. And not a sweet perfume at all. YMMV, of course.
No, I haven’t tried that one. I’ll add it to my list!
I feel like there’s a HUGE variation in how different leather notes smell. Definitely a case of YMMV. There may yet be a leather note you like.
I second the recommendation for Bottega.
Glad you are enjoying your staycation!
Thank you! If this is any indication, I’ll really enjoy retirement. Unfortunately, I have a long way to go before then.
I have Bandit parfum and CANNOT wear it. I can confirm that it has no sweetness at the base – this one is bitter all the way through.
I wonder if it will smell to me like the gothy punk kids who used to hang out at the uptown neighborhood near my house when I was little. I’ll definitely try a sample before I buy!
I think the only time young people might have smelled like Bandit en masse would have been in the 40s!
Ha! I’m not that old ;). This was in the ’80s.
Testing two Muglers today: Angel Aqua Chic (2013) on one wrist and Angel Fruity Fair on the other. (Decided to do a deeper dive because of the recent Mugler CP). The raspberry in the Aqua Chic strikes me as an unpleasant volatile note. The Fruity Fair is clearly recognizable as Angel, but a lighter, more delicate Angel, like a strawberry shortcake with fresh berries, fresh cream, and angel food cake instead of a creme brulee with brandied fruit and pound cake. The creamy richness is one of the things I love most about Angel, so while Fruity Fair is lovely, I don’t foresee choosing it over Angel.
On my second pot of Vehdam Vanilla Masala Chai.
I don’t remember what year it was, but I didn’t like Aqua Chic either.
I have samples of an Angel Aqua Chic and an Alien Aqua Chic somewhere in my stash. One of them I liked, and the other one was a hot mess.
Yes, many people like to freeze Thin Mints I think and your math makes perfect sense! 🙂
Nice teapot and cup set!
SOTD = Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme
… because Lucas wore it the other day and because RED!

In other news, I did quite a bit of shredding this past weekend and I have more to do. I still have way more cleaning to do but shredding gives me a sense of peace regardless of the racket.
I have a whole bunch of shredding to do too. I did pack up 4 bags of shoes though for charity. Need to do the same with clothes. The spring cleaning bug has hit early. Plus it’s grey and cold and there’s not much else to do…
I definitely have a lot to do but I’ve been putting things off. At least this made me feel productive and woo hoo, there was garbage pickup today (they have been unreliable due to the storms we’ve had).
Yes to the shredding! I just did a bunch too; it’s so satisfying to clear out the old junk. I think the house let out a “sigh of relief” too.
I know the feeling! I also took 3 bags and 1 box to a donation center. I should keep doing it!
I have my grandson shred. He’s 6 and fascinated with the machine, but also smart enough not to stick his hands in. And he can tolerate it, whereas I just get frustrated. I need a better shredder!
I used to have my nephew do it and he has not been here for almost a year!
I love shredding. I have to get a higher end shredder. I’ve wrecked the motor in the last two, being impatient.
Shredding twins! I did a bit today, and some last week too.
Wearing MFK Oud, which is actually really enjoyable.
I smelled one of the MFK Oud perfumes and rather liked it. Did not like the price tag at all!
It’s that time of year for me. A sad anniversary occurred yesterday. It was 32 years ago that my dad passed away unexpectedly. And I did not remember until this morning.
SOTD = back in AG Ambre Fetiche EdP. Calling on it today as a comfort scent.
Gentle hugs to you this day, Jalapeno.
Thanks Nancyleandros. Hugs are good! Melancholy days, but I’m OK with it.
I hope AF beings you all the comfort you need!
Thank you austenfan. Ambre Fetiche is so good, that I wonder why I haven’t reached for my bottle before now.
Sending you hugs, Jalapeno. The anniversary days are always difficult to navigate.
Thanks Gail. They do get less difficult as time goes on. At least that has been my experience.
Hugs in memory of your beloved father.
Thank you cazaubon.
So sorry Jalapeno, sending hugs.
Thanks Aurora.
Hugs to you, jalapeno. It does not get easier.
It’s true that I will probably always have a sense of loss. But the searing hurt is gone. I am left to wonder what would have been had my dad lived longer. Very glad he wasn’t around to see 2020, though.
Jalapeno, thankfully that has been my experience too.
Great big hugs to you, Jalapeno.
Thank you She-ra.
I’m so sorry Jalapeno. It’s almost worse when you suddenly remember. It’s like a punch in the gut. Sending hugs.
My thought process waking up this morning was along the lines of “Crap! It’s THAT day.” But I used slightly stronger language. And realized I had gotten the day wrong yet again about an hour later.
Sending you comforting thoughts for the sad anniversary. I don’t think forgetting that it’s THAT day takes anything away from your memory or love.
Thanks Koyel.
Sending hugs your way.
Thank you teebear.
Sending comforting hugs, Jalapeno.
*Hugs*
More condolences – though they are a day late. I’m glad it has got easier to bear.
Tea for Two for me today. This one always pleases. ?
You smell great! I need to dig out my bottle.
Sprayed on Estee Lauder azuree this morning. Beautiful clear blue skies for the 2nd day in a row, but it’s COLD!
Stay warm! Just checked Qualicum Beach, 3C and snow flurries. Brr!
Thank you! The weather experts claim it’s 20 degrees below normal; not sure if this includes the wind chill.
I blew a fuse this morning by plugging in my space heater!
Uh oh! Hope that you had a spare fuse at home and didn’t have to go to the hardware store.
Yes, thankfully didn’t have to go out!
Just spritzed on a bit of Chemical Love by Olibere Parfums from a kind NSTer and it’s quite interesting so far. I have not heard of this house but googled and this fragrance is inspired by the film Scarface. 😉
I am trying to wean myself off ibuprofen which I have been taking the last several weeks post car accident. I took none yesterday and so far today. Yesterday I felt good but today my neck has felt a bit achy at times. I suppose I should ask my doc too as it reduces inflammation not just pain.
Yes, do talk to your doctor about your ibuprofen use. Better safe than sorry.
5 minutes of peace today, so I can finally post. Sotd is two great loves combined. Orange Sanguine and vintage Dior Addict. It looks like my weather will stink well into next week, so I will continue to wear the Best of my Best until I see 32 degrees!
Maybe you will get lucky, and your weather will be less stinky than forecast?
Crappy weather twins! I may have to pull out Dior Addict tomorrow. I bet your combo is great!
Question: did you layer or are you wearing them on different spots?
I’m late again after having a mixed bag of things to do today. I tried another of my new Perris Monte Carlo sample scents that I got from Indigo last week. It is Lavande Romaine. It’s underwhelming. My favorite lavender is the one from Andy Tauer, but unfortunately it makes me sneeze. Anyway, I had a nice day today although I didn’t get a lot done. I’m worried about one of my kitties, Jet. He had a urinary blockage a few years ago and might have another one. If he’s still listless tomorrow I’ve got to take him to the emergency vet.
I hope Jet perks up without a trip to the vet!
Awwwwww, poor kitty. Hope that he’s feeling better soon.
Oh no poor guy! Hope Jet perks up on his own but good job keeping attentive to his health and energy levels!
SOTD was Rebecca Minkoff. Very nice; reminds me a bit of Nirvana Amethyst. Right now, the Nirvana is a better buy — $19.99 for 100 ml at many TJ Maxx stores. I found RM at a nearby Marshall’s.
If you freeze them before eating, your belly needs to spend some energy to warm them up, so net calories you are down to what, 35 per cookie? 😉
Ack! This was supposed to nest in the Thin Mint discussion
