Monday! Again! It's also the International Day for Tolerance. Birthdays: Chinua Achebe, Diana Krall, Lisa Bonet. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Balls…Said the Queen.
Reminder: on 11/20, for Bo Derek's birthday, wear a perfume that you would rate an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2020, where I'll try (but frequently fail) to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Woke up on Deneuve. Yesterday, little after 1 pm, I lost power and it’s still out 19 hours later. I let my electric company have it on Twitter. Got enough water to wash essential parts on my body. I have trace amounts of Deneuve on skin to get me through. Will be taking my phone charger to work because my cellphone is only at 25% with no way of knowing when I will have power.
Oh what a bummer! Have a great day at work, you smell fabulous!
Hope you get your power back soon. You smell great!
This sucks. You smell lovely, and i hope you get your power back on soon!
Hope your power comes back soon! That is tough…hang in there!
Oh no, good luck Dawn.
Yes, good luck! I’ve never smelled Deneuve, but judging by everything I’ve read, I’m sure I would love it. So, I’ll take the liberty of saying, “but you smell great!” ?
I hope you have gas heat so you’re not freezing cold through all of this.
Hope that your power is back on now.
Happy Monday all! My SOTD is Amazone EDP by Hermes.
We had a wonderful weekend out and hiking, and the Frida exhibit at de Young was so enjoyable. I love heading to museums, so much beauty in the world… And a lot of walking, of course, so I got to break in my new sneakers.
Speaking of, now that caffeine is consumed, my sneakers are on and I’m out the door! Going to try for six miles today.
Tell me about the de Young so I can live vicariously
See yesterday’s poll, SmokeyToes mentioned it there
Hi L2SG! The Frida Kahlo exhibit was wonderful! It contained a variety of her artwork, sketches, a few home movies, family photos, paper work from her consultation with a physician at St. Luke’s in SF, personal items like jewelry, makeup, and clothing. I knew she had affairs with men and women, but didn’t know she had an affair with Trotsky. Frida loved and wore Shalimar, Chanel No. 5, and Roger & Gallet’s Jean Marie Farina Extra Vieille, her bottles were part of the exhibit. I embarrassed myself because I pronounced out loud (from across the room, no less), “Oh my G-D, that’s a huge Shalimar bottle!” Mr. SmokeyToes was mortified. Yes, I forgot to use my ‘library voice’…
I enjoyed a fantastic conversation with a young man about perfumes, what colognes he loves wearing (Chanel Blue or oud scents). I mentioned Now Smell This, hopefully, he’ll swing by to visit! He was a very nice young man and it was a wonderful conversation. He probably thought I was a crazy old lady!
We finished the day with take out Indian from Masala Dosa and a nice glass of wine (or three glasses).
Enjoy your walk
Ciao a tutti (hi everyone)
This morning pre-shower was Allure
For the CP a perfume rated 11 I am going to go with Cristalle EdT
I am still in a Chanel state of mind after last week, so this may continue.
Oh, I adore Allure, I may wear that one tomorrow.
Which concentration do you have?
I think it’s the EDP. I actually much prefer the EDT. The EDP is pretty but it’s a little ‘too much of a good thing’.
Latecomer to the beauty that is Allure. I treasure my vintage EdP.
You have vintage!
I recently found a Coco Mm from the travel twist and spray and I sprayed some and it was off.
on the cheap, my outfit of the day is this Target sweater from the collaboration with Missoni with black pants and coral colored pumps
For some reason, I’m intimidated by patterns in fabrics – I need to get over that.
I’m in an Alkemia sample from their current Autumn Harvest sample set. It’s called An Autumn Wandering. These samples feel more like perfume oil than an alcohol based fragrance and last well on my skin. I have enjoyed the samples from this house, and will probably buy one of the $18.00 5ml extraits.
I like that name !
Blue some after a friend has planned to visit me for months then when she was in town, blew me off. Was hurtful. No scent yet but cravin a gourmand.
Oh dear, I am sorry about that. It is hurtful. Full on gourmand called for.
So sorry to hear about it! Hope you cheer up soon!
Can we blame it on ‘the ‘vid’
sorry to hear that but vanilla will help!
So sorry this happened to you. Is the friendship on the verge of a divorce?
I have had to divorce my brother recently, and while I do not regret the situation, it’s been very hurtful also.
I had no idea it pained people to cut ties with someone. You are a very kind person, so maybe that’s the difference?
On the receiving end, here. You can email if you want my wisdom ? from the other side.
Long story short, it really does get easier with time.
This is sad…
Well, that is what is strange..is that she is one of my best friends(I thought?) but lives out of town. With covid, travels were postponed. She said we will hang out when she gets into town. She texts me a pic of the Stratosphere to let me know she made here and I got really excited. Then I don’t hear from her and she texts me a few days later to let me know she is leaving town. I know time can go by very fast while in Vegas but we had planned it out for months. It was very hurtful. So not sure if we are “divorcing” but it sure as heck was a flaky thing to do.
That ranks up there as FLAKY!
Unfortunately ‘flaky’ is an adjective that’s becoming more and more useful. On the other hand – maaaaaybe something happened and she hasn’t yet been able to tell you.
Sorry Omega, and sorry to Calypso too.
Hope some vanilla helps
I’m so sorry.
I hope your perfume provides much comfort.
Omega, that is really callous behaviour – I am on the mend from the break-up of a long term relationship and have been on such a gourmand streak! My latest is Zara’s Sweet Pastry in Paris. It follows on from a whole row of teeth rotting forerunners…
AnniePerfumes, I guess it depends on the circumstances but I only cut ties with people when they have hurt me on multiple occasions and I realize any future contact will be more of the same. I always check with others whether the hurtful behaviour IS offensive (as opposed to me just being hyper sensitive). It’s much more painful when the person is a family member because realising you will ONLY receive abuse from someone who should support you is even harder.
Just wanted to add – this is my motivation for doing this. There may be people who simply cut ties with others just out of malice or something?
I was cancelled by someone in July. “Don’t vote. Vote, but only if you choose x.” WTH are you? I’m always careful to be neutral in my statements but when someone goes overboard, I had to say something. The sad part — she considers herself a good Christian. Sad.
Sorry to hear about your friend’s behavior. I’d be rather upset if it happened to me.
About to shower and will use my new Shalimar body lotion, followed by the Eau de Cologne.
Con Ed did emergency work on Saturday, which killed our water for awhile. I noticed because when I turned on the bathroom sink, the water was a dark copper-brown. That always seems to happen. That cleared, but we’ve had no hot water in there since then. Kitchen has hot water, just not in bathroom. I tried a few minutes ago, and it seemed to be restored. So…might be safe tk take a shower without freezing.
Sorry about your water!
You get multiple enabler pins on my Shalimar acquisitions.
Shalimar is wonderful.
Hope the water is back and warm!
Yep. The usual very hot. .
Sneaking in on a rare Monday post to note my SOTD, Un Reverie Au Jardin (Tauer) and to ask a question–for those of you who wear fragrances during activity (running, yoga, weightlifting, rock climbing, cycling, whatever), what do you reach for and why? I’m thinking about writing a post on a fitness blog I participate in on personal fragrance. . .
And meant to say Thank You, in advance, if you choose to share!
That’s the one Tauer that works on me.
I used to wear Le Temps d’Une Fête as my signature in the late 90s. I remember spraying it on for work one morning and then going to the gym that evening. It wafted up like crazy from my sweaty head, which was where I often sprayed it. I think I’d generally tend toward citrusy scents for gym. Not sure why…they just seem fresh and clean.
I agree, it’s the one Tauer that works for me also!
Interesting! I find the base very reminiscent of several of the earlier Tauers like Lone Star Memories and Une Rose Chypree. I only have a “discovery” size of it, so I rarely, but I like it when I do!
Cologne-y type things. Like Haute Provence by Nicolai.
Also, for hiking, Bucoliques de Provence. I don’t usually wear perfume specifically for exercise, though, but those would be my out and about scents! (also in the past Cap Neroli, but the family does not like that one). I distinctly remember wearing eau chic by Nicolai for a wine/bike thing a couple of years ago. Have since swapped that away and realized that my biking skills are shameful after years of non use – I used to be glued to the saddle, now I hurt after like a mile…
Thank you for sharing! I agree, in the pre-COVID times, my scent for the gym most days was just the dregs of whatever I’d worn that day.
Sorry about the reduced biking! Our bodies remember, if we give them a chance to get back into things. You could decide to get back into it some day, if you want to.
During the spring and summer, I usually did not wear fragrance during cardio or strength training or Pilates- I am a warm person, and generate a lot of heat, so scents would be too intense in the hot days. But during yoga or bodyflow, I liked a good spritz for focus.
Now, I put on scent and exercise later in the day- days are shorter and cooler, and I can exercise and generate heat in a cool room without it being overwhelming.
I get that–about them blooming too big when you get warm. That’s definitely a consideration for me, too. Thank you for sharing!
It’s also the only Tauer I like but just can’t wear because it makes me sneeze. I’m not doing exercise anywhere now except outdoor walking, but back when I did regular Pilates, scent was strictly prohibited from the studio.
I’m sorry your pilates studio isn’t understanding about personal fragrance. I always wonder at those requirements–when we all have fragranced shampoos, deodorants, lotions, fabric softeners, etc, etc. I feel like it’s a policy that lacks appropriate nuance.
I like something fresh and citrussy for outdoor sports. Incense or woody scents for yoga.
Oh, I can see how “woody” would make sense for yoga. I especially think of sandalwood and patchouli with that sort of environment. And incense seems completely natural as well!
I’m the opposite of tannina and Eschmeling. I like heavier, warmer scents. They blossom marvelously as I sweat. Think Grand Soir or LADDM or Ambre Narguile. Anything where a sweat note adds to their luxury!
Oh, I bet Grand Soir is absolutely wonderful when you get warmed up! I think I would like that, too.
I wear whatever I feel like. Scent has never been an issue at my studio.
Do you ever reach for something in particular to go with your workout?
Incense. It’s pretty funny too, because people would walk into the studio and comment on how good it smelled, thinking the teacher had burned incense. Nope, it’s me.
Marjorie, I would love to read what you write about this – I would be very interested! I find citrus and vetiver to be energising and so I typically wear this to exercise at home. It’s probably a bit strange but I also like wearing a scent when I walk my dog. I enjoy the scent as I go. I don’t go on very long or sweaty walks so I wear anything I’m enjoying for this – HOWEVER – I was doused in Zara’s Sweet Pastry in Paris today and I asked someone I walk with if I smell too sweet and she said ‘yes, for me its too sweet’ SO I really need to be more careful
Oh, I’m sorry your walking partner disapproved of your fragrance! That can be awkward. I agree about citrus and vetiver. I find grassy vetiver notes especially “clean” and “fresh” feeling!
I will happily share a link to the blog, whenever I’ve got it written, if Robin doesn’t mind. I’m a regular contributor on a feminist fitness blog, and it would be a change for me to write about frangrance–typically I write about my preferred activities, strength training and running, and about healthy habits and such. But I think there’s lots there (around the topic of personal fragrances) for nonperfumista folks to think about they might not have considered before.
Feminist fitness blog sounds great! Do share!
I’ve worn perfume before when exercising, but never really thought too much about it. Most of what I do is solitary, so I don’t have to worry about gassing anyone else out. That said, if I were hiking during the summer, I might not do any perfume to avoid attracting insects.
Right. I definitely have scents I try not to garden in as they seem to attract too much attention from our 6-legged neighbors!
Last night my uncle passed away at the hospital bed of covid intensive care. He was the ex-husband of my aunt (my dad’s sister) and after they divorced we didn’t have much contact except of some weddings. He already had some health problems before but covid just added ‘a wood to the fire’… In current conditions only closest family will be allowed to attend the funeral.
Generally I’m not having the best day. My work phone broke on Friday and today I met with company IT guy. I got a new phone but I’ll have to pay for the damaged mobile because we don’t have tech insurance which is so annoying…
And I forgot to say that I found a little bit of comfort in Volutes.
Condolences and hugs Lucasi. ? Volutes is very comforting and lovely smelling to me. Now I am craving it lol.
I’m so sorry for your loss, lucasai. I hope your fragrance, and the words of your friends here, will bring you some measure of comfort. ?
I am so sorry about your uncle’s passing, Lucasai. I hope your day improves in some way. Sending peace and hugs!
So sorry Lucasi. It has been such a hard year.
Sending you a big hug. You smell really good.
I’m very sorry Lucasai.
Sorry you are having a tough Monday and condolences to you! I hope cousin(s) if there are any, are ok.
I am so sorry. May you and your family have comfort.
condolences to you and your family. Sometimes it is harder when the relationship with the family became strained since the chance to heal that strain is lost. Certainly the need to isolate the sick and to forgo the rites to grieve as a community are among the cruelist aspect of this pandemic. I wish you and your family will find some peace.
So very sorry for your loss, Lucasai.
My deepest condolences.
I’m so sorry to hear this
So sorry for the loss of your uncle. And for your phone, too. Just curious though, if it’s a work phone, shouldn’t the company pay for it?
We have weird corpo rules and laptops or phones we get from the company are not insured…
so sorry, for everything..
I am sorry. Is the virus on the increase in Poland? You smell good, at last. I love Volutes and have both versions.
Poland and Hungary are both in bad shape.
(Not meaning to answer for Lucas but I read a lot of covid-related news)
Robin is right, it’s not looking well.
Adding more condolences Lucas.
Sorry for your loss.
This is really sad, condolences
Thanks for all the supportive words. You’re the best.
My condolences, lucasai.
My prayers are with you and your family, lucasai. Terribly sorry for all that you are going through.
My condolences to you Lucas. And I think it’s very unfair you have to pay anything for a work device.
Inconveniences are also always worse when following a loss. Sending hugs! (And I’m also surprised you have to pay…)
My condolences lucasai.
My sympathies to you and your family.
Adding my condolences Lucas. I’m sorry you are having to go through all of this.
So sorry. Take care of yourself as best you can.
I am in Iris Torrefie, thanks to Hajusuuri’s split. I like it a lot, but it is too fleeting on me. After one hour it becomes a skin scent and after two hours is gone. I just reapplied again and I keep enjoying it!
Another busy work week ahead for me. I am feeling tired, but I will survive! ☕
Happy Monday, everyone! ?
Whenever I see Iris Torrefie mentioned now, I think of Toffifay candy! Lol.. yum!
Hope it’s a good day ?
LOL! It is pretty close to it. You are making me grab some Toffyfay next time I go to the supermarket. I haven’t have any in a long time! ?
What a funny coincidence! I recently had some Toffifay as a snack attack!
Glad you like it and I will say that yes, it becomes a skin scent rather quickly unless you use 8 sprays (maybe you did?).
I did. It is a matter of reapplying several times during the day. I wouldn’t mind at all if I had full bottle, because I really like it. I think I will eventually get a full bottle.
I found it fleeting too
So unfortunate, because it is a very nice take on iris.
I just spray it a lot. you smell wonderful!
Thank you! ?
This! Lol I tend to always spray a lot, skin scent or not lol
Sounds like this iris beats 28 La Pausa for disappearing…
They are both fighting for the first place! ?
Another night of almost no sleep, but I dragged myself to school this morning. Mostly I was just fretting over rising Covid cases, which is such a productive late-night pastime.
Wearing MFK l’eau a la rose, and it’s pretty, quiet background music, a little fruitier than the edp, from what I remember.
Yes, I have been middle of the night fretting if I wake up too.
You smell great. I have a travel spray of that one I need to dig out and wear.
I bought that crazy MFK “fragrance wardrobe” as a birthday gift to myself, and I was pleased that I like this one at least as much as the original.
Keep a Jeeves & Wooster book at your bedside, seriously! Works really well for me. I worry about covid just plenty while I’m awake, no need to do it at night.
Great idea! I had a student long ago who swears by these books, too, for brightening any day.
Loved Jeeves & Wooster! Perfect antidote to these times.
My sympathies to you, I was awake the night before last too. I seem to wake up around 1-2am and can’t get back to sleep due to worry. I take anxiety meds to knock me out.
Wearing Musc Intense by Parfums de Nicolaï which is a lovely ambrette pear rose.
Another day in my home office. Kind of getting used to it and having a decent additional screen helps a lot.
you smell great!
And yes A good screen sure helps a lot. ?
How is life in Luxembourg? How stringent are the restrictions there (presuming they have those in place…)?
It’s ok, all things considered. I do get lonely at times, but that seems only natural, given the circumstances. Fortunately I have a great place to live. Easy access to the city and hiking trails pretty much starting at my doorstep.
Restrictions are not as stringent as in The Netherlands or Belgium, but life is more limited.
I wore that last week and was reminded how much I enjoy it. You smell great!
Joining the chorus of bad sleepers – I think I need a new pillow after waking up several nights in a row with a headache that pretty much improves when I get up. Now fealing queasy from ibuprofen. Blergh.
But I’m on the CP, randomly: Arquiste Anima Dulcis could be an 11 on the caramel sweet scale! In other CP news, Bo Derek’s scene with an orangutan in a Tarzan movie scarred me for life.
Generally not a Macy’s fan since they took over Marshall Field’s, but do recommend their Hotel Collection European white goose down pillows (as long as one isn’t down-averse!) They come in soft, medium & firm. Much more competively priced than Company Store or Cuddledown. Plus, Macy’s is constantly having sales.
Need to try Anima Dulcis one of these days.
Agree on this. The Hotel Collection is generally very good if you can get on sale. I have some towels. Not sure what brand pillows I got at Macy’s but they are excellent. Held up very well.
thanks for the suggestion!
I looove Anima Dulcis, you smell great!
Popping in to say that an orthopedic pillow like Tempur might help if the headache is a result of neck position or something –
Thanks for the suggestion! I have an embarrassing amount of specialty pillows. The current “caviar” one is a layer of camelhair topped by a latex shaped with those curves for your neck and then all enclosed in a bamboo cover. Maybe I need to revert to a plain old down pillow…
Oh, that’s funny!
I had to recently switch up the positions of my pillows at night, and it did improve how I slept quite a bit.
I like this cp because I can wear all my favorites this week. Sotd is SL Cedre. Thanks to jalapeno a few years ago, I got a sample and ordered a bottle right away. It’s a beautiful dark tuberose. Sweet but not bubblegumy. Honeyed but not urinous or sickly. A total 11!
I entered a few contests this week. The one I really want to win is free mortgage payments for a year! But I also entered a grocery one and a Tocca one. I’ve never been a contest person, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Lol. Fingers crossed!?
Free mortgage payments would be awesome!! Hope you win
And good luck comes in threes!
?no mortgage for a year would be awesome! Hope you win!
Your perfume sounds beautiful. Good luck with the contests.
You smell yummy! Good luck!
I do! More people should talk about this one.
My bestie had a bottle of TC. We talked about it but she never wore it while we were together.
Ugh…I meant Cedre… sorry.
Good luck! ☘
I hope you win all three but I really hope you get the year of mortgage payments! How are you?
Hi Petunia! Things have been stressful but I’m hanging in there! Still smelling great, of course!?
Of course you smell great. I’m still buying too much perfume, so I haven’t lost interest. Even so I have been too tired to read the daily comments. I hope you are all well!
Thanks for the good luck vibes! Hopefully the universe gets it!
SO happy that the Cedre went to a person who loved it! Good luck with your contests! ???
I had to look up the notes; it sounds fantastic! Also wishing you very good luck with the contests.
Today I am wearing Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta, on this gorgeous sunny day. I love the way this scent smells on a crisp cool autumn day. My tea this morning is Himalaya Spice.
I love all those original Colonias – the Essenza, Intensa, original, etc
Comparing Pacifica Island Vanilla to Pacifica Sugared Amber Dreams today b/c sometimes the only thing better than vanilla is MORE vanilla! ? And thank you to Hajusuuri for introducing me to both.♥️
Woohoo, perhaps another enable pin ? ❣️
You are the queen. You tiara is full! ?
I am contemplating adding the DSH Balls and/or White Lilac to my “intend to buy list”
I forgot to type. Any comments either
Dilana, if you had a question I didn’t get it?
In Dzongkha, inspired by someone here who wore it over the weekend. Definitely a 10.
Not sure if you saw my reply over the weekend but I was unable to see that post..
I just saw that. The link is so perfect for you–if you send me an email, I’ll email you a photo of it.
ann dottie eisenberg attagirl comcast dottie net
Dzongkha is definitely a 10!
Wearing a combination of Wowilla oil layered with Kiehl’s musk sprayed on my wrists.
Mmm you smell good
Thank you, yasmina!
That sounds like a nice combo!
It was pretty good, thank you!! Wowilla is good this time of year for the extra moisturizing it offers. May have to try this with Andy’s Rose oil.
In Oeillet Bengale —a favorite
Had the worst sleep last night. The puppy who after 4 months of sleeping in crate no problem decided he wanted out. No idea why. It wasn’t for potty or food.
Around 3 am I gave up and let him sleep on the bed with us and he fell asleep immediately. So strange.
I’m getting him a bigger crate cuz I noticed he slept on bed all stretched out. If any dog owners have advice chime in!
None, other than, you may have trained him …
I think he is training you.
But oh he doesn’t know yet that determination and perseverance are my middle names ?
Puppy belongs on bed! My 13 year old puppy leaves me only a little gap so I have to sleep curled up…
The problem is I’m such a light sleeper. I can barely tolerate mr yasmina on the bed
Our puppy came by plane from Seattle (nearest breeder to us) and the breeder told us to put him in bed with us the first night to make up for the air travel. He slept like a champ, I moved into my daughter’s bedroom for the next week or so. We then transitioned him to a crate in our room, which he: 1. tried to eat 2.wriggled out of 3.was really loud in.
I believe we let him out of the crate at night when we generally let him be uncrated when unattended – maybe when he was 8 months old? At any rate, he roams the house at night and during the cold months, he sleeps at the foot of the bed for a few hours (I have strategically placed a large blanket pile on my side so he’s on hubby’s side…..). Lately, he has decided that the best place to start the night snooze is in my daughter’s room, but around 4AM, it’s nice to scratch on the door to get to another room in the house….
the idea of this puppy roaming the house unattended makes me really nervous! He might decide that it’s nicer to poop on my carpet then hold it until morning!
wait until he’s house trained, of course. I think smaller dogs can take a bit longer for that? I think the peeing would be your bigger problem (happens more often). Alright, TMI for a perfume board
Yeah in my nightmares I get one of those lights that make pee glow in the dark and I see it everywhere. Argh!!
I’m suffering from some very bad shoulder problem that is causing intense pain. I have no idea why. It’s very debilitating as my laundry has built up and I can’t carry much at all. Still in the remnants of Bee which is amazingly long-lasting. I just ordered a FB of Dragonfly from Luckyscent after dithering over whether to buy it or Bee. Bee is beautiful but maybe a bit much for me.
You just got a new computer, didn’t you? Wondering if that and / or your more intense writing is the cause? Also, a bunch of people mentioned issues due to using their iPad.
I did participate in a three-day Zoom conference. Perhaps it’s a repetitive motion stress injury from mouse use, since it’s my right shoulder.
I highly recommend a vertical mouse and also a split keyboard, if new equipment is an option. The split keyboard has really helped my shoulder issues. (Still have issues, but they’re better.)
Hope your shoulder will get better soon.
I had an episode like that last year which ended up being caused by stress (as in psychosomatic).
I usually get these issues (shoulder, neck etc.) when I both do more computer stuff and am stressed.
Hope that your shoulder feels better soon!
SOTD = Francesca Bianchi Sticky Fingers
The only one I can wear after trying 90% of her line and I now have a full bottle!
In other news, I had a nice walk with a friend yesterday at a park near me. We decided to stop by Cheesecake Factory for a quick drink and BOO HISS – no outside service! Seriously, after more restrictions, you would think that they would accommodate. Nope. So we left.
My family and I decided that we will also just do takeout for Thanksgiving instead of eating in the Season 52 dining room – I am very wary and don’t want to sacrifice having a sit down for potentially catching it. My younger sister is hosting as we don’t know what the weather will be like and she has high ceilings and just got a high efficiency air cleaner; good practice for Christmas! I am responsible for ordering and picking up the food.
Sticky Fingers…is that a reference to the Rolling Stones album?
Yes it is!
I can’t believe I didn’t know that!
I stumped you for once ?
Same here – Sticky Fingers is the only Bianchi I can wear.
And a good one at that!
I think FB is a great house. A lovely NSTR gifted me with Under My Skin. I love it but usually end up wearing it to bed or on Saturdays while I am doing chores. My life is so glamorous. ? I have yet to try sticky fingers but hope to soon!
It’s definitely worth a try!
Our Thanksgiving plans just got put on hold – the other family is starting to have doubts even if we follow our state guidelines (outside only, 3 families max, etc.). We might really go the testing route.
Testing and quarantining … perhaps there isn’t much choice now given that we’re 10 days away.
Sticky Fingers reminds me of Bengale Rouge
Yep, to me too! I may have posted this (on IG) when I first tried it.
Lotta people having to make new plans for Thanksgiving this year. I’m still figuring out what we will do. Fortunately, Mr. Jalapeno is still able to do a bit of sous-cheffing in the kitchen for me.
That’s good. Are you thinking of joining with select neighbors / friends?
Our Thanksgiving is going to be just the two of us. Both our families live far away. Travel isn’t an option this year.
We have done “Friendsgiving” the past couple of years, but everyone is hunkered down. Lots of high rink people in that group.
“Risk”, not “rink”! Stupid fat fingers. ?
Vanille Insensee for a back to work Monday. Gotta post and run! Be back to read comments later.??
Perfect work scent!
I think so too! I wear this to work often, I think it’s really non-offensive and I’ve gotten lots of compliments on it.
Oh. that might be a good sample to add to my rotation right now.
SotD is L’âme perdue
So good. warm spices and exotic flowers on an extremely rainy and grey day.
This bottle has a great atomizer by the way!
I need to try my decant again and see if I like it more in cold weather
1) Am in Fresh Cream & the scent of my lavender candle.
2) We are in a ‘freeze’ here in OR due to spiking COVID levels. I have done a lot of socially distanced attendance at protests and even met up with some girlfriends at the park, sitting six feet away (drinking) but apparently this is not enough. I hope and pray this helps calm things down.
6 feet masked while protesting and while not drinking?
I actually don’t even know what’s safe anymore. The degree of mask wearing compliance was better at the park yesterday than it was several weeks ago when I was at another walking trail.
Much of the spike is due to people thinking the worse is over (for the US, the worse was never over). And given the atmosphere of denial and uncertainty, I feel like many people will die before a vaccine is in place (which is on time for next summer at the earliest)
I also think it’s the easing up of some restrictions. I don’t advocate lockdowns as we are where we are despite them.
As to the vaccine, I believe it will be available sooner but I would not be first in line.
And, masks unless you can be many feet > 6 from others!
A friend in pharma says their vaccine is almost ready in time to beat another competitor, which is supposed to be coming soon.
All I know is there are at least two companies that have vaccines almost developed. Not saying that they are good or approved or whatever stage, but it is good news.
And absolutely nobody is staying 6 feet apart in the store’s!
I don’t want to be the first in line either, but I have a feeling healthcare workers will be some of the first and like the flu shot, it will be mandatory.
I sprayed the new Korres on my sleeping shirt Saturday. As of today it is there, now as sandalwood. The saffron is insanely long lasting. It gave out on Sunday night. All this is really saying is that I did not put Clothes on today but I smelled good. What a find that ridiculous little thing was.
Covet, and maybe a 10 on my list of great cheapies, also a bit of a strange one.
Gladly we had time for a walk after work. Now preparing some pork for chashu, there will be ramen soup this week!
Covet probably also deserves a 10 just for a celebrity fragrance…
Bedtime scent last night/scent this morning: HdP Ambre 114. I like it quite a lot.
That one is a little medicinal on me.
I’m wearing OJ Ta’if from the splitmeet, and smelling good. This is Week 13 of my 16 week semester, and I am looking forward to a break.
Yes on week 13! Also getting splitmeet Taif today, I think! double twins, sort of!
You’re going to be so fragrant, my twin. Ta’if is gorgeous.
TdG Rouge Nocturne today, haven’t worn it for ages.
You smell wonderful!
Thank you! I neglected it but now with lower temperatures I will definitely wear it more, it’s the perfect patchouli rose.
It’s still on my to try list. You and Cazaubon make it sound so good!
If you love rose and patchouli together it’s a good one for sure, simple but top quality. When my brother comes again to London I’ll prepare a little package for you.
That sounds perfect for cool autumn temps.
Oh yes, it shines in the fall.
Amarige and Poison remnants. After my shower, I will still smell of Amarige and Poison. ?
Rereading Tuesdays with Morrie. My old high school teacher and I have a very loving relationship. He’s my Morrie.
Wishing my fragrance friends a good night’s sleep. ???
Poison and Amarige together?? Was this a dare?
Lancome Oud Ambroisie, because the bottle is nearly empty and things tend to go off faster when there’s a lot of air in the bottle. Hope to actually finish a bottle!
I have not done that in so long I can’t remember what it feels like!
A gorgeous, sunny but slightly chilly day for me. Perhaps it’s an apology for the stuff that blew thru my area last night. YOWZA! I feel rather fortunate that no trees fell down, and that the power stayed on. ⚡☔
SOTD = changing it up a bit with Chanel Coco EdP, from the sample stash. I’ve been sneezing quite a bit today. Not sure if it is the Coco or possibly the fact that the HVAC filter needs to be changed? ??
A perfect scent for a cold day. Hope your sniffles disappear!
Thanks Petunia! Nice to see you here!
That was some crazy wind yesterday!
I blame the filter because coco is so wonderful!
Yes, it was! I’m rather happy that it wasn’t nearly as windy as initially predicted today. That gets old fast.
Sounds like you got the wind I had Saturday night and Sunday. Glad your power stayed on and hope you feel better soon!
These sneezes are allergy-type sneezes. So there is something in the air that is bugging me…
We needed the rain more than we needed the wind. Glad you got through fine!
Thanks! Didn’t really get much rain here… it was mostly wind. So last night’s weather could be considered a nuisance.
Not sure if anyone is still reading. My SOTD is Fleur de Peau. I love it in cold weather.
I hope everyone here is doing well despite the challenges. I think of you all often but work has been overwhelming so I’ve been too tired to post.
Love this week’s project as it sounds cheerful!
I’m still reading!
I know this is a busy season for you. Always good to see you?
Yep, still reading. And you smell great!
Hey! Nice to hear from you! ?
Also still reading!
Hi Petunia ??
Hi Yasmina! Hope you and yours are well!
I’m also still reading! Nice to see you Petunia!
Nice to see you as well!
Still reading ?. I have to pull mine out!
It’s so good!
Still reading. Glad to see you here!
Maybe I’ll be the last post? Another 13 hour day today. ? SOTD were some favorite: Cuir de Russie and Cuir Ottoman.
