Monday again, ready or not. Also, Freethought Day, plus Columbus Day and/or Indigenous Peoples' Day. (Shhh, we're not walking into that political minefield.) What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in a fragrance I sampled very soon after falling down the rabbit hole, The People of the Labyrinths Luctor et Emergo — still perfect for a rainy Monday morning in October.
Reminder: on 10/16 we're going back to the beginning...revisit a fragrance you tried in your early days as a perfumista. Suggested by springpansy.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2020, where I'll try (but frequently fail) to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

SotD is Coco. Haven’t worn this one in awhile.
I seem to be alternating great nights of sleep with horrible ones. Last night was horrible, so tonight should be…great??Luckily I have the day off so I don’t need too much brain power. Our neighbors are having some major yard work done and it is literally shaking our house. Maybe I would rather be at work, lol.
Love Coco, you smell fabulous!
Thanks!?
House twins and also lack of sleep twins. I had to work late Sat. night, and was supposed to work early on Sun., but didn’t make it. I didn’t sleep at all after work on Sat. and just had to call in sick. By the time I finally fell asleep last night, I had been awake 36ish hours. Insomnia sucks.
Bad nights are awful! Last night I woke up because of my cat’s snoring! One more night and he’s sleeping on the couch…
Wow, I didn’t know that cats snored!
My buddy has a lot of tricks up his furry sleeve!! ???
?
It is not common, the way it is for dogs! It usually indicates allergies or some other issue. Both of my cats have snored at some point in their past, though they’ve been very quiet about it, which made it cute rather than annoying
Sounds very cute.
One of my cats snores, too. Not all the time, though. It is very quiet and quite cute, unlike when Mr. Jalapeno snores.
Same for me on the on again-off again sleep. But especially noticeable Sunday nights. Two Mondays a month we have important meetings that I am in charge of and I don’t look forward to them. Sleep is never good before those Mondays of which one is today!
You smell wonderful! Hope you sleep well tonight.
It’s weird how those nights of good sleep vs. UGH alternate. I wonder why?
It’s Thanksgiving here in Canada, and one of the many things I’m thankful for is Mitsouko, so I’m wearing a drop of the EDP (from a decant) — it’s smoother and richer than the EDT, but I don’t enjoy it as much because I love the EDT’s snarly, feral quality. Normally I make a beeline for the extrait or the EDP, but Mitsouko is or course a thing unto itself.
The vintage EDT lasts forever on skin, the current edt lasts an hour or two on skin. I prefer the vintage but if I want to go current formulation, only edp. Yes, Mitsouko is a law unto herself.
My EDT is from I think the late nineties or very early 2000s — that counts as vintage these days! — so it’s still full of oakmoss and extremely durable. I tried the extrait and the EDP a few years ago and found both of them severely underwhelming compared to my beloved EDT. I have enough to last me a lifetime so I don’t have to worry about reformulations, thank goodness.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving. You smell wonderful.
Happy Thanksgiving! You smell wonderful.
Happy Thanksgiving!
More happy Thanksgiving wishes…sorry I always forget to include in the post!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving! Mitsouko is perfect for it.
By the way, is there a traditional meal for Canadian Thanksgiving? Like turkey here in the U.S.?
Yeah, we totally stole the turkey dinner from you. Stuffing, cranberry sauce, potatoes and carrots and gravy, the whole deal.
?You’re so funny. I was just curious, no dissing intended. ?
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving!???
Happy Thanksgiving! ?
Hi all, SOTD is Dune, one of my favorite perfumes back when I began my journey into perfume-collecting.
Getting ready to head out the door for my four-mile walk. Have a great Monday all!
You smell wonderful!
You smell so freaking good! One of my recent favs.
Ditto!
I only discovered it a couple of years ago, and man, have I been missing out. It is gorgeous.
I’m wearing 4711 AC Lemon & Ginger for my physical therapy today.
Your therapist will be happy that you smell so fresh!
After a shower, I will be wearing Habanita, which I love but haven’t worn in a long time.
Wow, I haven’t either!
Bought myself a bottle of the edt recently. Once the weather cools down again, I’m going to go Habanita wild!
Happy Monday. I guess I’m not participating in my own poll yet (thanks for including it, Robin!) – although I will later. I forgot and put on a bit of my new Muresque from DSHPerfumes. Wow – I love it. Mure et Musc never quite hit the mark for me (I liked it, but it went a bit aftershave-y as time wore on.) Muresque is a beautiful rich blackberry that includes the leaves and brambles. She calls it ‘dark.’ I don’t find it dark, but rather complex and bright. She mentions a harvest Pinor Noir accord and I get a lot of that – it is, as she says in her description “polished with just enough earthy wildness.” Highly recommended but you need to order before Nov 1 – it’s part of a limited edition series called Heirloom Elixir. (Not affiliated, but I visited Dawn’s studio and chatted with her multiple times while we lived in Colorado. She’s wonderful.)
I know – I’ll add some Mure et Musc on the other arm for fun and that will fill the bill for the cp!
Done and sorted!
That sounds gorgeous!
L’Artisan Mont de Narcisse is my scent of the day and I am drinking a cup of Nilgiri Winter Frost Black tea.
That all sounds perfect.
☺
Not ready for Monday, but I’m here anyway. I’ve got a big project due this week, and I’m really not looking forward to it. I’ve been procrastinating, and the next few days will have some crunch time in there.
For perfume fortification, I’m going with my standby, CdG Jaisalmer.
Very good luck Lisa D!
Good luck LisaD!At least you smell WONDERFUL!!?✌?
Aedes Copal Azur for me today. I was more advanced perfumista when it came out. This doesn’t change the fact that it’s utterly well-made!
Yes it is
You smell terrific!
Calling All Angels for me today. Wonderful scent for a coldish, rainy day. Also well suited for a Monday where I can use all the powers from above to help me.
Over the weekend two new donut shops opened up within 10 blocks of me — Dunkin and Krispy Kreme. VERY happy to see businesses open up in NYC but big brands, not so much. It is, however, very likely that I’ll be taking a stroll down to KK every so often
You smell fantastic. I have to dust off my bottle that I haven’t touched for a couple of months…
Thank you!
It’s a beauty.
Wait for KK to send out coupons. The regular prices are ridiculous, imo.
Had vintage no 5 extrait on this morning. Since I have showered, I dabbed on Miss Dior. I have a Prime Pantry order coming this afternoon and $5 set aside for a book for Prime Day tomorrow. I have a couple books picked out but we will see what the best deal is.
What exactly is Prime day? Is stuff cheaper?
Not everything is cheaper but there are tons of really good deals. Kind of a head start to Christmas shopping.
If it weren’t for you, I’d be clueless about prime day! Is it worth keeping an eye open for it?
It really depends on what you are looking for.
I made my selection in the early hours so no CP for me today. I’m in a sample of The 7 Virtues Rose Amber, and it’s lovely! It reminds me of Rose Flash but toned down a notch or two.
Hello nsters. Yep, perfect sleep followed by crappy sleep.
My last day off. New project orientation tomorrow morning.
Getting a microdermabrasion later and then a workshop for Smartsheet’s.
My house is clean. My laundry is done, my new work laptop delivered.
My first week diet was four pounds gone.
I voted.
Something Chanel post shower supposed to be 80ish today.
I guess I’m ready!
Well done on the check list! And congrats on the weight loss – impressive!
Thanks!
You did very well. I hate cleaning so I avoid it as much as I can
Twins about the cleaning. Pre-pandemic we had a cleaning lady once a week. We justified it by telling ourselves that we both work full time and have two teenaged boys. Now, my husband is the one who will start cleaning when things get too hairy.
You’re on a roll!!
Yay you! Good luck tomorrow!
4 pounds? Amazing! Care to share the diet??
Good for you!
Wow, well done!
Go apsara!
Chanel No. 19 today.
Went shopping at Sephora the other day with Mom. At mine, they are allowing you to handle the testers, and only ask that you put them on the bottom shelf to be sanitized afterwards for the next customer. We could sniff all we wanted to while maintaining distance from other customers.
I bought the 30mL Twilly Eau Poivree and my Mom got Nest Sunkissed Hibiscus, which is a really pretty frangipani. Nest fragrances work for her really well which makes me a little jealous. I’m still looking for one to love because of the really nice bottles.
I also sniffed Eau Premiere for the umpteenth time-I smell it everytime I go to Sephora. I always end up with something else, but I still keep coming back. Someday I will probably get a bottle.
We are not allow to touch! Feel like a parent is scolding me whenever I go in there. Hoping they’ll ease the rules before long.
I had them do a liquid lipstick tester for me on the plexiglass. Bought it. Returned it. Sephora has spoiled me for not wanting to at least swipe something on a wrist before buying.
Twins!
I have a sample of Hibiscus. It’s really nice! I also like the Citrine one.
Monday! It is hard to keep track now that I am retired. But I still find myself doing all my weekly chores (laundry etc) on the weekends, lol.
Well it looks like Ebay has once again banned sales of ‘used’ perfumes. Last time, the ban lasted all of 6 days, so maybe they will change the rules again next week, who knows? But I am tired of them. Does anyone have good experience with selling on other platforms?
No scent yet… I think I will try out my new Yosh samples today.
That’s odd. Guess they are concerned about tampering? I see people sell on FB groups, maybe try there?
Great question Pixel, as I am about to put a few practically FB’s on line to sell. I hoped to use Ebay.
I have used Mercari to sell a few perfumes and it has worked beautifully. The difference is that you accrue monies that you can spend within this realm not actual cash. They sell many things besides perfume so there is no downside I suppose. I found my Chanel No.19 EdP this way.
I used Mecari too and got the money in cash
That’s great, gdood to know..
whaaaa? I just got an offer for one that’s on my watch list. Could you just change the category to “collectibles” – i.e. you are supposedly selling the pretty bottle?
What about decants?
Yeah changing the category to Collectibles is a possibility. Dunno about decants.
Ebay has changed all my existing listings from ‘Condition: Used’ to ‘Condition: —‘. But you can’t start a new perfume listing with any condition other than New or New In Box.
What a drag. I haven’t sold anything on ebay for a while but I wonder whether this is, as you indicated, a temporary issue.
I just noticed that change too.I haven’t had any experience with other selling arenas, but am looking into it too.Just this week LUSH COSMETICS dba LUSH WARRIORS reported my account for copyright infringement (VERO) for listing one LUSH solid perfume for sale that I had purchased from Lush and have the receipt for.Ebay does not give you any recourse, they just ding your account.
Whaaaa???? That’s terrible!
Yeah Ebay never gives sellers much backing, do they.
It feels like bullying to me as someone listing one Lush item I bought maybe twice a year and using my own photos and text, not using Lush stock photos or product descriptions. My feelings about Ebay and supporting LUSH with my dollars are definitely impacted.
I want to join you in retirement. I bet I could fill my days easily!
Early on in my scent hobby I sought out Caron urn perfumes. Today I am in my chilly on-campus office and wearing some Alpona from the early aughts. It still smells fantastic–a marmalade chypre–with no off notes that I could smell. I have no idea what the current formulation smell like.
Very nice! Do you display them somewhere?
Nope–most of my bottles are in a minifridge in my closet. Especially the old stuff. The weather where I live is sub-tropical and I dislike overly air conned rooms. When I was in northwestern Indiana, I left more bottles out on a shelf.
Do you display your collection?
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving.
Also, if my father were alive he would be 79 today. Wishing him cake & a captain n coke.
SOTD is just Clarins body lotion, I got a sample and it smells like Neroli.
Kids are watching Cinderella on this rainy day…
My mom would be 99 today.
A toast to both of them, ltsm. Wishing you loving memories.
I’d really like to come watch Cinderella with your kids…
There is a certain Clarins lotion(think the hand one),that I absolutely adore!Usually part of a GWP.I do need a bottle of Eau de Jardins…Lol.
XO
I hope today is filled with loving memories ltsg ?
Hugs.
Wearing Chanel No.19 EdP.
On the way home after taking mom to an early doctor’s appointment. Feeling very hungry, but a big bowl of hot lentil soup is waiting for us at home. Perfect for the cold and rainy day we are having today.
Happy Monday!
You smell super good.
Thank you, KellyC! ?
Twins! Or triplets or something. There seem to be several of us in 19 today … and we all smell divine. ?
The No. 19 club! We all smell heavenly! ?
Lentil soup.. yum!
It was very tasty and comfy! ?
Woo hoo. You smell nice!
Thank you! ?
You are smelling wonderful today! Enjoy your lentil soup; it’s certainly one of my favorites!
Thank you, Gail! We had lentil soup very often when colder temps arrive! A big favorite for us too!
Love lentil soup,it’s about the only type of soup I do enjoy!
Happy Monday!
XO
Passing you some! ?
Happy Monday!
That lentil soup sounds PERFECT for today! Yum! ??
?
I chose one of my earlier scent memories with some vintage EL Cinnabar, that I got on the bay cheap. My mother wore this in the early 80ies, but I think this wears me instead of the other way…. Potent stuff anyway, two small sprays and I am still reeking!
YES, Cinnabar makes its presence known, doesn’t it?
Gallagher Rosé All Daé which is quite nice for autumn…I get mulled wine w/ apple, plum, honey and spices. The drydown has tonka, vanilla and patchouli. The eternal question…do I need more?
TBD, friends, TBD.
Oh you smell glorious Robin. I think I will join you.
This rainy cloudy & cool autumnal Monday suits my mood.
I don’t know if it suits my mood or if my mood fell to match…but I am ready for another sunny day.
Me too. Always.
Safran Troublant. Soooo good.
Ugh, why is it Monday? I had such a nice, relaxing weekend and now back to work and 90 degrees. Why?! On a positive note, I got my mail in ballot ready to go in the mail. I’m doing my part- vote!
Yay voting!
I dropped off my ballot on Saturday at the box in front of town hall. It was probably good timing since there was a couple trying hard to open locked doors. I told them to walk down below the street level to get in. I don’t even think town hall is open on the weekends and if they are, only likely to be until noon.
Yum.
?✌?
??!
SOTD is Chanel 19 EDP. One of the first FBs acquired after falling fully down the rabbit hole was 19 EDT, and I still remember the SA at the Chanel makeup counter saying, “Ohh, the 19!” and conducting me decorously to the perfume counter. Shortly thereafter, I decided to invest in the EDP, and of course went straight to the perfume counter. They were out of it there, but the very sweet SA snuck over to the makeup counter and found a bottle hiding out there. Score!
Smelling good! Quite a few people wearing No.19 today.
Great scent made even better by a great SA!
Orris Noir, not on topic, but the last from the swapmeet that I hadn’t tried yet. Happy Monday!
A winner?
SOTD = Parfum Satori Satori
Not with the CP today and will have to rummage around to see what qualifies.
? Incense: spicy and powdery. 8 spritzes lasted 5 hours … good enough for me as I’ll be wearing another perfume in a little bit.

I was at the Wegmans liquor store last week. The only regular cashier had on a face shield without a mask. I decided to say something and her response was “I’m not here for much longer” (assuming she meant her shift will be over soon), then I said it doesn’t matter since she is in front of me working, to which she said in Germany, they don’t even wear masks and most just wear a face shield if they’re wearing something. I know there are accommodations but I am curious to know to what extent the accommodation is acceptable for people whose job is face-to-face with the general public, even with the ubiquitous plexiglass shield. ?
At my store, if you are unable to wear a mask, you have the option of wearing the face shield. Only one person chose the shield, and switched to the mask the next day. My state’s mandatory mask mandate is gone now, but stores are still requiring them for entry. Everything that cashier said to you though, really had nothing to do with what you were asking about. Who cares if she was almost done?!
She should have just apologized and put her mask on. Or explained why she was unable to wear one.
She may not have a mask as it was supposed to be an accommodation (I spoke with the manager.)
It would have been so much easier if she had just said that.
Exactly, it’s like answering a question where the answer has to be a Yes or No and instead getting The sky is blue and I’m going to be peeling fruit tomorrow.
Yeah,it’s ridiculous how people bend “acceptable” to accomodate their own selfish or ignorant behavior.
What a strange world we live in.
I’ve only seen one person wearing a face shield, and they were getting groceries at a store. But I also haven’t been out and about in the past couple of weeks.
hajusuuri, I switched ophthalmalogists recently in because I felt their office coronavirus procedures were inadequate. The worst was that the aide who did the preparatory interview was wearing one of those masks with vents. I asked her about this and reminded her that I am at risk (as they know) due to age and comorbidities. She said she had asthma so she couldn’t wear a regular mask. I said, I’m sorry, but you can’t be in the (small) room with me. She got a different person to complete the interview. There were other things, like their waiting room was full (I waited out in the corridor) and they hadn’t scheduled people to minimize wait times, so I found another practice with great procedures. It was sad to have to do that after seeing this ophthalmologist for decades, but not worth it.
Good luck in the crowded city!
No sotd yet as we just got home from being away for 4 days. I will join the Chanel No 19 group later after my shower.
I didn’t have a chance to partipate in the weekend poll but agree that for me, yoga and some type of exercise work best for me. I will have to get back into doing boxing workouts regularly. I’ve done yoga off and on for years since I was a kid but it really made more sense when it was explained that the poses are secondary, it’s the slowed-down breathing that makes the difference.
I’m off to repot the rest of my geraniums to bring into the garage for winter.
Been meaning to ask… what are your winter vacation plans this year? Since it’s normally Florida.
Hi lillyjo! No plans for us to go this year; we are definitely staying home!
My local classes emphasized the importance of breathing (more than poses) from the beginning, but I think I spent about a year ignoring them, and then when I finally took it seriously I was like OH, this is why everyone loves yoga. Ha.
Wearing one of my cold-weather faves, Profumum Roma Rosae Mundi.
This brand was one that I explored fairly early on, but none of the samples really wowed me. Fast forward a few years to a presentation at Fumerie where they were all available for spritzing, and I went home with this one. Love at second sniff! (Might have been the spritz vs. the dab.)
Spritz vs dab matters! In both directions.
Yes! Now when I want to sample a perfume, I buy a spray-on or buy 2 dabblers and decant them into a sprayer at home. I’ve learned my lesson.
What lovely cabbages! We had a cabbage harvest in spring, maybe in April or May, and I’ve been confused about people talking about how cabbage season is now. What do I know about plants anyway?
I’m in Kulfi Pistachio, having spent the weekend in the Almond and Mango variants. So far, Pistachio is my favorite of the bunch, though I’m not sure it’s strictly better than the classic version.
I feel like I am barely staying abreast of projects at work. I’ve been cherishing weekends more and more, and this past weekend, I ended up working a fair amount. I feel like I ought to claim a day or half day or something this week, but if I take time off, I’m just going to have to work twice as long a different day to make up for it. So.
Also not sure why Columbus vs. Indigenous People’s Day is a political issue. Seems like a clear-cut moral issue to me. I may end up taking some time off of NST as the election draws nearer and passes, as more discussions that should be clear-cut moral issues turn political. (Though I may have to pop back in for the splitmeet, hmm.) If that happens, I am sure you will all know that I am thinking of you with love and am doing my best to keep the world smelling great!
We do not grow cabbage so I don’t know either, but maybe it is like spinach in that you can grow it in spring or fall, just not in hot weather? But certainly it is true that I don’t usually see ornamental cabbage / kale for sale until the fall, probably because it is about the only thing you can put in a pot or urn now that has a chance to make it through the winter, or at least part of the winter.
I am not kidding or only sorta kinda kidding when I say that just about every political issue is a clear cut moral issue to me. There is probably some exception but offhand I can’t think what it is.
Ah! I get that for sure. And that is how I feel about much of politics, too
I think you’re right about the spinach comparison. As far as I can tell, kale and spinach go super bitter in heat (is that your understanding too?), and perhaps that is true for cabbage, too?
We don’t grow kale, but that is true for spinach for sure. We grow tons of it in the spring then harvest all at once, blanch and freeze.
Jean Patou Joy.It has been a part of my life since forever, both my grandmother and mom wore it,on the “special” days.
Happy Thanksgiving Canada!
I left work at 1pm,ran some errands, and at 4pm decided to take a little snooze.I woke up at 7pm.LOL…
Tonight might be difficult, unless it rains again, like it did this afternoon.
Happy Monday you goodsmelling bunch!!
XO
Johano, I’m reading fast on break, and read good smelling b”#$%%! ?
Happy Monday!
Hahaha!!
NEVER!!…Well…”insert Brittany Broski Tiktok”…haha!
XO
Patou’s Joy is perfectly named. Can’t say the same about the Dior one.
Ha, exactly.
Crazy busy today with re-sets. My store manager is letting me pick up a few hours of overtime this week.
Sotd is Dolce and Gabbana Pour Femme.
So the overtime is a good thing?
Yes! Right now I will take all the overtime I can get. It’s rarely offered, but we are very short handed right now.
Gotcha.
Sampling several scents today so I smell like a bomb lol..I sprayed like 10 different ones on me lol.
Today I am wanting to remember exactly how Mon Precieux Nectar smells, I remember loving it and lemming it but I need to seek out a sample or decant.
Reeking havoc a la Holly!
Unseasonably cool and definitely rainy today. I didn’t want to get out of bed this morning… it was so cozy!
SOTD = L’Artisan Voleur de Roses again.
I think by Thursday, we will not even break fifty here. Plus off and on rain.
It didn’t break 60 here. Definitely felt like Halloween today! Except it was the “trick” and not the “treat”.
Opposite of the CP, I’m in Creed’s Virgin Island Water–from my Royalty Scents decant. Lovely, fluffy frag, that for $45 I’d purchase a 100 mls. Wha? It cost more? More than that? Incroyable! (smirk smirk)
In other random things, for those of you like myself who are putting off reading The Mirror and the Light for the perfect moment (???), here’s an article on other historical fiction novels that one reviewer liked. Not sure any of these would scratch the itch–although I’ve not read anything by Ford Maddox Ford, so who knows? https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/books/fans-of-hilary-mantels-thomas-cromwell-trilogy-will-want-to-read-these-historical-novels-next/2020/10/10/9ee2657e-0a3f-11eb-859b-f9c27abe638d_story.html
I am a big fan of the Parade’s End novels, but have never read anything else by FMF — I should try The Fifth Queen.
Hello, lovely NST folks!
I was with Jalapeno in the thoughts of wanting to stay in a warm bed instead of getting up. I was very glad I didn’t have to go anywhere today. It’s been a quiet day so far, which is good, because I needed one.
I’m still thinking about a sort of fragrance that I’ve been using for some time. If I go back a number of years, I liked a splash of rosewater or a bit of rose-scented oil on my wrists. And I liked burning various incenses. Maybe I’ll put a little bit of an incense fragrance on, in honor of my incense-burning days.
Take care and hugs!
Glad to hear that you had a nice quiet Monday!
Thanks!
I was feeling a little irritable and my eyes were tired when I finished writing that comment, so I decided to lie down for a bit. I woke back up at 7:30 p.m.! I guess I needed the sleep? It was such a dark day that I turned a nightlight on at 4:00 p.m. Soon it will really be night by 4-something, instead of just dark from clouds and rain. I should plan to start using the light I have that mimics sunlight, only minus the UV rays, in the mornings.
Lovely scent memories!
I try to remember to get out in the sunlight for at least 15 or 20 minutes every day, but that gets difficult when it’s both cold and raining. I have one of those lights but haven’t figured out where to put it yet.
Samsara. Doing some very-much-needed cleaning. We are heading out of town again, and this time Agnes will have someone be here while we are gone. So, our place has to be more presentable than usual.
Hope you are going somewhere fun LizzieB!
Hi! I am new here. Love this SOTD idea so much!… I also started doing some very needed closet cleaning. I found an older bottle of Tom Ford’s Black Orchid EDT and sprayed that on. Now at the end of the day it has settled down quite nicely. I’m in Texas, so it’s actually a warmer day to wear Black Orchid but I thought I’d it a try since finding the bottle. Have read this blog for a while and decided to comment.
Happy Monday!
Hello and welcome, Nanette! Very glad you delurked, and hope you’ll join in again — this is a very welcoming crowd.
Hello there Nanette!
Hi there! You smell fantastic!
Hi Nanette,
Hope to see you around!
Hello and welcome!
Hi Nanette, welcome!
Late to the game, but wanted to chime in with my SOTD, Ginger Ciao, which smells so frackkin’ nice. It was my last sample, but worth it. Also, wanted to know if anyone has issues smelling their scents thru their masks when they wear one. Happy Monday!
Re: smelling perfume thru a mask. Sometimes I can, and sometimes I can’t. It depends on the mask, and how heavy and/or full-bodied the scent is. Some lighter perfumes are blocked out.
I cannot, for the most part. I think a good mask wouldn’t really let you smell too much. In other words: I wonder if you can smell your perfume trough the mask, if the mask is working the way it should. But – this is an unfounded opinion with zero research to back it up!!
The less you can smell, the more effective the mask.
I’ve read that this is sort of how medical personnel test the seal of their PPE, by whether they can smell ambient alcohol or something like that.
But even a good cloth mask should cut that way down or eliminate. When I go for walks, I wear a mask when I’m leaving my building and take it off after I’m in a part of the neighborhood where I’m not crossing paths with anyone. Suddenly, I can smell smoke from backyard grills, or flowering shrubs. That’s with my better fitting multilayer masks.
Robin, I wore PotL today too, taking inspiration from you. And it does fit the CP because I tried it very early on in my perfumista days. I didn’t even remember that I swapped away a partial bottle on MUA. I probably bought the bottle on eBay. I sure wish I hadn’t swapped it because now I love it!
And I wish I had bought more of it way back when! I do have a couple of decants that have held up pretty well.
I also swapped away things I regretted…
Thank you all for the kind welcome! Glad I decided to “delurk” also!
After long day closet cleaning and hot shower, I sprayed on Coco Chanel EDP. Definitely one of my favorites and much better than the Black Orchid.
Not sure what to count as the rabbit hole. Was it when I fell in love with perfume as a teenager via drugstore Coty, Guerlain, and Yardley? Sniffing designer fragrances in department stores and duty free shops? Mail ordering Tabac Blond and En Avion from the Coty fountains in New York after seeing their ads in the Sunday New York Times in the 1990s? Exploring one of the first niche brands, Annick Goutal? Or discovering NST, ebay, the Perfumed Court, and The Guide circa 2009? It’s been more of a life than a rabbit hole. At some point you find you have decades experiences, thousands of books, and hundreds of perfume bottles. ?
I somehow have four different omnias and didn’t realize it. This one is Amethyst. It last long on clothes, they all do. Some Eau de Gaga coming. Reviews are good and it’s super cheap.
