Comme des Garcons Rouge ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 6 October 2020 15 Comments

Comme des Garçons has launched Rouge, a new fragrance in the brand's signature pebble collection.

Seductive incense entangled with vegetal roots. Ardent woods set boldly aflame. Resinous depth illuminated by beetroot brights. A ceremonial clash of contrasts. A radical revelation of blazing harmonies.

BRIGHT: Crushed clusters of spicy sweet pink peppercorns. The enlightening intensity of Indonesian ginger. A luminous layer.
FRESH: Earthen emissions from fresh sliced beetroot. Egyptian Geranium leaves, minty and metallic. Grounded wonder.
DEEP: The resinous romance of sticky incense. Woody patchouli dosed with the aromatic amber of cistus. A sacred sensuality.

Through deliberate overdose and rapturous expression, ROUGE presents an unexpected unison. An olfactive congregation of desire. The archetypal associations of the colour ROUGE seen and subverted through the distinctly disruptive gaze of Comme des Garçons.

Comme des Garçons Rouge is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

I haven’t either but I really like the way they smell when cutting up to cook.

I once laughed at a friend who said that a rainstorm smelled like beetroot. Aside from the fact that I should know better than to laugh, it turns out they were right. Petrichor, the smell after the rain, and beetroot contain the same molecule, geosmin – https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-44904298

I don’t think I’ve ever smelled a perfume listing beetroot as one of the notes, very intrigued by this one.

Beetroot. Hmm. I wonder how that will play with the geranium. Yep, I think CDG is being “interesting” again. I have liked quite a few of their scents, but since I’m not a big fan of incense, the only one I’ve plunked down money for is Kyoto.

The beetroot note does sound intriguing, but not so fond of copy relating to setting”ardent forrests” aflame. Did the copy writer realize that she has just glamorized setting forest fires.

I cannot abide “pink peppercorns” in perfume any more. Every scent I have with pink peppercorns, clearly should have cloves where the peppercorns are. I have a couple perfumes that have become increasingly annoying due to this note, which I am going to have to swap away or sell or something… Such a first world problem to distract from the doings of the day….

Lol:) I am guilty, I like pink peppercorns. But clove is even better:).
