Happy Almost-Friday! (And happy almost-labor-day-weekend, if you're in the US.) What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm doing another day of linden, in Astier de Villatte Grand Chalet.
Reminder: on 9/4 we're doing Zest and Smoulder...wear a fragrance with citrus and smoky notes, or, layer two fragrances to achieve the same affect, or interpret the theme in whatever way works for your collection. Suggested by Glannys.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2020, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Just a quick hello during this first week “back to school” for teachers in my district. It’s proving to be rather tiring. I’ve forgotten to put on a fragrance most days. No SOTD, yet, either. ? Maybe I can find something with “zest.”
Update: I decided to wear a light spritzing of Tabu, which is not especially zesty, and might be a mistake given our high temps predicted today. It’s what I wanted.
Sending you energy vibes this first week!
Good luck! Zest might be good with the heat, eventually…
Adding more good wishes Marjorie Rose!
Sending you what energy I have to spare!
How do you possibly have any to spare?! Aren’t you just starting, too?
Big vibes to you and all the teachers going back!
Sending “Hang In There!” vibes to all the teachers out there.
Neroli Outrenoir, the scent that inspired me to suggest this CP.
Indeed! Smelling gorgeous!
Oooh, I didn’t think about this perfume and cp
Aha, that’s the one I should own but don’t š
This sentence made my day!
I can’t think why!
Me too, it’s lovely.
While searching for something that fit the challenge, I realized I had a sample from a set from Foāah that I had never tried called 14. Itās āa leathery, floral oud wood nested in the shade of the palm oasis.ā I had tried one of the Foāah series at Jovoy ages ago and promptly forgot which one. During a fit of quarantine-induced scent deprivation, I ordered the set. So far, 8 has been my favorite but this is really beautiful. I am hoping that the sneezing attack I just had was unrelated!!!
Future project suggestion: I Really Shouldnāt Have: perfumes that you have and wear or bought against logic. I was thinking I will probably wear this scent again even if itās the source of my sneezing.
Sounds like a fun cp!
I like that!
I’m wearing Knize Ten from a decant I received yesterday. This one is interesting, but I’m not sure if I like it. It may be too masculine for me.
I think you smell great!
I think you smell great, too!
š
Iām in my travel scent Tam Dao.
Headed on our trip to take my daughter back to her college apartment. Iām excited for our little getaway, but then I walked past my daughterās empty room and got a little sad so I quickly pulled the door shut. Itās gorgeous out and the next two days are supposed to be just as nice!?
Safe travels!
Thanks lillyjo!
Have a great trip! Iām a little bummed the forecast for our WI trip shows rain for a number of days… Oh well…
Oh, that is a bummer.ā¹ļø Wisconsin weather can change very quickly though, so Iāll keep my fingers crossed for you!?
Smelling great!
Thanks! Iāve put quite a dent in my little 30 ml bottle in the last year, it is a favorite.
Have a safe trip! Enjoy!
Thanks pl67!
Have a safe trip! Enjoy your time with your sweet girl.
Thanks sistine!
I am all zest but no smoulder in Cartier Zeste de Soleil.
š
Yum.
That one is such fun!
Dior’s Ambre Nuit for me today. Some zest with the citrus up front and some smolder with the amber, but more smolder-lite.
Stayed up way too late last night finishing ‘Case’ on Netflix. Well done show and great acting. Depressing subject matter, however.
And bonus! By the end I picked up a handful of Icelandic words.
Oohh… I think I will copy you.
Interesting. Iāve been reading a series of Icelandic crime fiction, and theyāre quite dark..,
Which ones? Iāve read a lot of them especially loved Jar City! Thereās a great movie of it too!
Thorse nordic stories… they are always rather heavy.
I have a decant of that – maybe I should copy you!
Just added “Case” to my list on Netflix. Thank you, floragal!
Ohh I love Scandinavian series! I watched an Icelandic series and had to stop though because I felt so cold watching people in the snow and wind all the time. ?
Oh, just started Case. We are deep in Nordic Noir.
Me too! Havenāt heard of this show but must watch now!
I’m going in the opposite direction, and watching Miss Marple. š
In ELdO Vierges et Toreros today, no CP points but it’s working for me on the first properly sunny day in ages.
Kitty Kate is fully done all her post-op meds, and looks charming one canine tooth short of a full set. All is well in cat land.
??
Yay, for kitty Kate! ?
Terrific news!
Hooray! Iām sure sheās very chic.
Yay! Happy news about Kitty Kate! ?
SOTD is Tom Ford White Suede. I smell a little campfire just after spraying. It might be me, had the same thing with Vanille de Tahiti by Perris Monte Carlo.
Today my bottle Mandarine Basilic arrived. Unfortunately just when fall arrived with a lot of rain. Sunny wheather fits better. Hopefully we’ll get some of these next week.
Hmm I found Vanille Tahiti to be all sweet no smoke
I think it’s in my brain…..?
Hello all!
Today I’m wearing Galop which may not be smouldery enough but has the zest in spades. Galop is just radiant! I’m obsessively sniffing my wrist.
Wasp update: in a lovely anticlimax, our long guys took care of it on their own after doing our lawn yesterday. Lucky they didn’t get stung!
Stay safe!
Glad to hear everything went fine with the wasps!
You smell great!
You smell nice
Oh yay!
Yay for guys who take care of wasps!
In my household, I’m the bug-manager. I squish most of the spiders and spray poison on the wasp nests. Mr. Spicebomb is a wimp about that stuff.
Woo hoo!
Excellent news about the wasp removal!
Doing lots of zest and a bit of smoulder in Parfums NicolaĆÆ Vanille Tonka.
That works!
Wearing Bee..nice one. Went to Valley of Fire State Park yesterday, it was beautiful.
You smell great!
PS Beverage of the day, Elysian The Great Pumpkin Imperial Ale. Pumkin n cloves..mmm. lol ?
Oh, my hubby would like that!
Elysian does some very good stuff! ?
Iām doing a CP attempt in Winter Woods with a layer of Mandarin Basilic on top. Itās actually working well.
Agnes had been a bit full of piss and vinegar…wants to be petted but then gets impatient and does a a spit and swipe. She got me a bit last night when laying next to me. She didnāt move away but was giving me a look that was very clearly saying ādonāt touch.ā As my husband said this morning, āsheās kind of a psycho.ā
My first kitty was like that some days… “I want more than three pets, and less than two! NO NO NO you’re doing it all wrong!” ?
To be fair, someday I know I am being unreasonably grumpy too, so you and Agnes both have my sympathy!
Set aside my travel scents. Shalimar Eau de Cologne is the only decant. Samples of a couple of Ateliers, Kelly Caleche, Galop and Gabrielle. Iāll thunk those.
And…I spent time decanting scents for my husband. LOL. For him, itās SMN Eau, Colonia, Pamplemousse Rose, Real Musgo Orange Amber and classic Roger & Gallet. Heās worse than I am….
One of my cats was really “bite-y” when she was a kitten. She would act like she wanted petting, but then nip our hands. We learned quickly to disengage hands when she did that. And the kitten/cat learned that nipping was not a good thing to do to the hyoomans. She calmed down a LOT in the first year we had her.
Neither zest OR smoulder in Bois d’Iris nu VCA.
That is a lovely scent–you smell terrific.
It is, I don’t wear it very often though and thanks.
Ooooh, you smell so nice!
Doing the rose version of Zest and Smoulder today:
On one wrist, my sample of Rosineās Cologne de Rosine and on the other, TF Noir de Noir.
This is a fun twosome – but for today at least, I am enjoying the Rosine much more.
You smell wonderful!
I adore TF’s Noir de Noir, I don’t wear that one often enough.
Yes, I love that one, too, but it’s a bit smouldery on a summer day. š
Thunking a sample of ELDO 500 Years. This is a nice woody rose scent. Better than I was expecting. The oud is very pronounced, but not too loud and there is a nice touch of chocolate and cardamom. The full bottle is very pretty. It may go to my to buy list, but it is not a priority.Ā
Heat and humidity are back! A homemade lemonade to the rescue! ???
Happy Thursday! ?
I’ve tried 500 and rather like it, your description is very good! It’s on my maybe list.
It is a nice scent, but I agree with you when you day it is a “maybe”.
House twins today!
? twin! You smell great in Fat Electrician, one of my favorites ELDOs!
I got dem smoulders today with Aedes Musc Encense.
Don’t know how to marry zest and smoulder for tomorrow though.
I suspect I will end up layering.
Dulcis in Fundo…it is fall in my mind and heart if not yet on the calendar. š ā„ļø
You smell fantastic.
This comment just reminded me to flip my calendar to September. I’ve been looking at August the last few days!
Woke up early to the sounds of a hard rain, which I love doing. Put on London Poppy from my Floral Street scent. There’s nothing wrong with it, but it doesn’t set my heart to fluttering. This has pretty much been my reaction to the whole set, which is a little sad because the bottles are so pretty. It’s faded now so will probably top off with something with more personality. Maybe Nahema.
I agree, re Floral Street. Love their London store in Covent Garden, love their presentation and their very nice sales associates, but the scents don’t make my heart flutter. OTOH, I don’t think I’m their target market, lol! I discovered them first at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where they had a lovely booth.
Woke up in Lyric this morning and it was a shame that I had to take a shower and wash it off. Lyric isn’t something I wear to work. Wearing a tiny dab of Deneuve extrait to make up for it.
Oooh, I love Deneuve. You smell fantastic!
Pity it’s discontinued because it’s fab!
I love Lyric – looking forward to wearing that again when it’s cooler. On me, it works for work (well, right now everything will work for work…)
Oooh, Lyric! Deneuve! You smell mahvelous!
In lāambre de merveilles – this one is fickle (I sometimes get cat pee) but today Iām happy to report itās salted caramel goodness.
Like for others here itās been a busy back to teaching week – really looking forward to the weekend.
I also signed up for a two week fitness bootcamp after labor day that will require attending a 6:30 am outdoor gym class. Iām definitely not a morning person so this will be painful
You will feel so virtuous and good afterward, though! Many years ago, I took a 6.45 AM step’n’pump (you can already tell that was a while back š ) twice a week. It felt so good after, but because of the commute I had to get up at 5.45 and that just never became easy.
I rarely get to feel virtuous about fitness so this will be a nice feeling to look forward to š
Oh no, cat pee! I don’t get that, but I do prefer it more on some days than others.
Yup me too. I really have to be in the mood.
Wow, I salute you! Thatās a great idea to commit to a fitness class. Good luck with teaching!
Saluting back.
The sneaky part is that the class is actually for free (they are piloting a new program) but you have to pay a refundable deposit and they deduct money for each session you miss. Evil but brilliant.
I am getting up an hour early to fit my lifting in before the school day. I don’t love getting up early, but it does feel so good to know it’s done for the day, and I don’t have to drag myself to do it after work!
Good for you! Keep it up
Reminds me of a Fran Lebowitz quote I came across recently, āCommunism requires of its adherents that they arise early and participate in a strenuous round of calisthenics. To someone who wishes that cigarettes came already lit the thought of such exertion at an hour when decent people are just nodding off is thoroughly abhorrent.ā Have fun with your boot camp. It canāt be any worse than grading a pile of papers.
I love Fran.
2nd that. She is a treasure.
FL on the pandemic:
“Last night, I was peeling a cucumber and I was infuriated. Like, why am I peeling this cucumber? Why am I not in a restaurant, where they know how to peel a cucumber, and where Iām not doing it?”
Hahahaha – that’s hilarious. I have no idea who Fran is but off to Google
Hope you found her. That quote above is from a quick interview in the New Yorker back in March, I should have said. Not sure if this is paywalled:
https://www.newyorker.com/culture/the-new-yorker-interview/fran-lebowitz-is-never-leaving-new-york
I’m wearing Guerlain’s Myrrhe et Delires from my decant. It opens with citrus and pepper, and the base is yummy myrrhe. I’ll have to remind myself to finish this off before it loses those top notes.
Congrats on the grandson…a little late chiming one!
Thank you, Hajusuuri!
All zest and no smolder here, too, in Osmanthe Yunnan.
Ah, you smell great. But I do think OY has a little tiny bit of smoulder, from the tea.
Sort of zesty and smouldering here. I showered with Orange Sanguine gel and now I’m wearing Moon Bloom, which always makes me feel like I’m some sort of blonde bombshell, holding a cigarette and looking provocatively over one shoulder.
Hey there, gorgeous! ?
You smell fabulous.
Bit more smoulder here today — grabbed a sample of Lonesome Rider off the top of my sample stash. Fortunately not hot, but sunny today, which is nice. Last day of four-hour morning meetings, but this one has been a doozy.
4 hour morning meetings are ridiculous! At least you smelled great.
Some zest and smolder this AM in Boy. Had a perfume Tetris challenge this morning. I had thunked an FB last week, and suddenly was sure I had room to fit all my dresser perfumes in a single box (sadly, I have other small collections at the ready about our bedroom). Took a ridiculous amount of pleasure in resorting them until they all fit. Feeling quite pleased with this unimportant accomplishment. https://www.instagram.com/p/CErmx70hviI/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
I guess the nice thing is that you’ll get little jolts of satisfaction every time you look at your box – can you take any bottle out though and still put it back in place? š My top dresser is still full of all the little decants and samples from the last meets we had here. Perhaps I should get that cleared up before the next swapmeet.
Thatās very impressive!
Snort! Thanks!!!
Looks nice! I am in for another very challenging session of perfume Tetris when I pack to return to California for the winter.
I wish I could come and do it for you–it brought me some sort of Zen!
Awol for a while due to anxiety, but feeling better today. Wearing Maria Candida Gentile Noir Tropical.
I am so sorry about the anxiety. Mine feels near constant, at low levels, then with spikes. Awful.
Same here, itās been a bad spike. Sucks all the joy out of life.
Ach. I hear you. The last two nights I slept soundly. For two days I haven’t felt ill with worry. Not sure how or why things changed, but I really noticed the absence of anxiety. So glad you are getting a break and a fresh breeze of ease today.
Iām glad youāre getting a break too. Last night was the first night in two weeks that I didnāt have to get up and take more medication to knock myself out until 6am.
Iām happy to hear youāre feeling better. Anxiety has been my constant companion for months and I think itās time for her to pack up and leave.
I hope you get some relief soon!
I’m sorry about the anxiety. Lots of that going around these days. This article helped me: https://elemental.medium.com/your-surge-capacity-is-depleted-it-s-why-you-feel-awful-de285d542f4c. Take care!
I love this one. I have away my bottle but not before I kept some for myself.
Glad to hear that you are feeling better today.
I sympathize as a fellow anxiety sufferer. I’m glad you’re having an upturn. I’m reading this a day late, but I wore MCG Noir Tropical yesterday and am kind of shocked that I had a twin! I love this perfume and will be sad when my sample is gone after my next use. I wish I’d bought a small bottle when it was easy to find.
Thank you for the sympathies, I return the same to you.
I believe Indiescents has Noir Tropical in stock, they have a 20% coupon right now too, summer20.
Ahh, thanks for the coupon info. I did take note of a large bottle at Indiescents, and the coupon does make it more tempting. But I’ve just bought a lot of perfume recently…decsisions, decisions.
They have the 15ml size as well. š
Oh my gosh, you’re my hero! I didn’t even check because I thought I already had and that 15ml was out of stock. Well, I know what I’m ordering this weekend. ?
Wearing Trayee today, which for some reason I didn’t get at first and now love. I think it is a little smolderly, but not zesty except in the fun spiciness of it.
I love Trayee. You smell nice!
I agree – thatās the only NVC that I like actually
Ambre Nuit, copying floragral. Because – a break from the Shalimar clan. I’m not sure I get zest or smoulder but it’s fun to revisit a perfume and note I haven’t been trying in a while!
Wow this one is getting alot of play today
Floragal. Sorry!
No CP today again, nothing in my collection fits. Gave my sample of Rose de Petra a first good wearing. I like it well enough, but would not buy a bottle because of the price.
Tomorrow after work we will go for a weekend trip to the wineries in the Nahe region. I think we will buy some FB there…..
Have fun on your trip!
Hi all, SOTD is Sonoma Scent Studio’s Incense Pure with a spritz of Jicky on top.
The hubby and I went for a six-mile walk yesterday to Green Apple books, a favorite local bookstore and enjoyed a light late dinner (marinated calimari, green salads) and cocktails on the way back.
Locking myself indoors, the smoke is pretty bad today.
Happy almost Friday!
That sounds like a wonderful walk!
I slept like a log!
That does sound like a great walk, and I love the name of the bookstore. Independently owned bookstores are becoming an endangered species.?
It’s quite sad, actually. A few of my favorite SF book stores have closed, Thidwick Books among them.
We live in a city that hasn’t had a real independent bookstore (outside the excellent one for kids) for many years. Sigh. Life is worse without them. Whenever I get to Victoria, no matter what, I go to Munro’s. Same for Elliott Bay, back in the days when we could get to Seattle.
What a nice evening, I love calamari
I do love calamari also. There’s something so wonderful about really fresh calamari in a salad. I need to learn how to do it myself, but the few times I’ve tried, it’s been as tough as boot leather.
Triplets with Floragal and Eschmeling today in Ambre Nuit. When I tried spraying my neck, I accidentally hit the bottom of my face! Better than in the eye though ?
Ouch, and better your chin than in your mouth! I’ve done that and it’s no fun.
Oy! But you smell nice!
Ah! I read “spraying my cheek” instead of “neck” – and I thought that was risky scent application. But interesting… š
Ack! I’ve accidentally tasted perfume a few times, and it is not pleasant!
Sampling DSH Tea and Charcoal which might barely fit the zest part but it’s more like cold charcoal than smoldering
So is that a no for you? Or does the tea redeem? Or do you like cold charcoal!
Iām wearing Phlurās Hanami today, so absolutely zero CP points. I have lots of āI smell great ā points that I awarded myself, however.
For those who were curious yesterday about the perfumes that arenāt going in the moving truck but are coming with me in my car, hereās the list. Bois Farine, Lonesome Rider, Eau des Merveilles, Philosykos, Bois Blond, Oliver Peoples and the small Lys 41 I got in Berlin. These made the cut as my āirreplaceablesā.
I missed the conversation yesterday, but when I moved, I moved all of my perfumes myself. We were only moving across town, but still, there were several moving boxes of perfume that I insisted go in the car with me. And three or four bottles that I kept in my lap.
I totally understand the impulse! But the dog and cat will disagree and say theyāre more important than perfume.
Youāre brave to send your bottles in the moving van, I am moving my bottles in the car myself (much to my husbandās dismay). There are so many and the boxes are so heavy they will take many trips just to load. He is not pleased but I am too paranoid.
If I could, I would move them all myself. But thereās going to be a delay between when we arrive and when our stuff arrives, and Iād rather have out petsā supplies, some towels and a few clothes instead of just perfume.
The dog crate is really big. ?
We have a big soccer mom van, otherwise it would be impossible. š
When are you making the trip west to your new place?
In April, after our winter holidays in San Diego.
Did you guys buy a house?
SOTD = Annick Goutal Nuit Etoilee EDT
I know the line changed its name but when I got my bottle, it was still Annick Goutal. Iāve got Zest and Iāve got Smoulder!
https://www.instagram.com/p/CErsdP8hQw9/?igshid=q0op6nxeahnt
I was originally going to wear LāAP SĆ©ville a lāAube but changed my mind. I believe it fits the CP but itās actually more Zex and Zexy Smoulder ???.
In other news, Iāve got another one of those finding out about someoneās death via osmosis. An uncle (husband of my dadās sister who herself passed away 8 years ago) passed away on Tuesday. No one called, texted or ?announced it on FB ?. It took a series of accidental booboos and tantrums (not mine) for this fact to come out yesterday afternoon. My one cousin said she told my sister in a dream (nope, this does not count). Anyway, Iām stuck with the family I have, for better or for worse, with quirky communication habits. R.I.P. Uncle J.
I’m sorry for your loss.
As to your cousin… did she really believe that dream communication counted? Sometimes I remind my son to say thank you and he will say “I said it in my head” sounds like a similar mindset.
Also.. that’s a beautiful bottle!
Itās a pretty bottle for sure!
As to this cousin, at her best sheās confusing so I was not surprised at the turn of events. Sheās not the daughter of Uncle J.
I told you in a dream? Wow. That is a real low for familial excuses! Sorry for your loss.
Thank you, Amy. For another uncle a few years back, I found out via Facebook (erm, and the uncle and the aunt and 3 of 4 cousins live in NJ). Another one asked us to livestream dadās memorial service because she will be in a cruise but would like to āparticipateā – no no no. I always joke that I can write a book with all these shenanigans…
My sympathies on the passing of your Uncle J., and on the lack on communication about it. That’s adding insult to injury, IMO. Hugs.
Thank you, jalapeƱo.
Your family stories are so interesting. My condolences on the loss of your uncle.
And thank you for giving me an idea for tomorrow, I was scratching my head. I have the edp in that gorgeous blue bottle. š
Thank you, Cazaubon. And yes, the bottle is gorgeous!
Oh, how frustrating! I missed a funeral for a beloved aunt due to a similar lack of communication.
OTOH, in defense of your cousin, I’ve totally woken up mad at someone because of what they did in my dreams, so we’re not always rational. š
So true about dreams!
I’ve woken up angry at someone for what they’ve done in a dream, too.
I am sorry for your loss. Sending hugs and peace!
Thank you, pfl67.
Oh my. This pandemic is making us all crazy. My actual sister forgot to tell me that her son’s (my nephew and godson) for which we had booked flights and hotel rooms this very weekend had been postponed to June. I’m sure she told our other sister several times and thought she had told me, lol! They live in the same state, I live quite far away. Luckily, I went on their wedding website several weeks ago to send a gift, and saw that the date had changed; the hotel had already canceled all the rooms in the block; and we had booked fully refundable flights. I was actually relieved, as we were nervous about flying.
Crazy is right!
Fully refundable / no change fees are the way to go. My July 2020 vacation was rescheduled to 2022 ? and the one for October 2020 (originally April 2020) was cancelled altogether and I got all the land portion $s back – $75 (not going to argue) and a flight voucher for $700, good through July 2022.
Does this cousin regularly communicate important messages through dreams or is this her first time?
Iām sorry about your Uncle
Thanks, yasmina. Itās the first I heard of her actualizing her dream. I was wondering if she was ok because her brother sent a nasty nasty text for everyone to see and I called her to find out if she was ok. Said brother is usually more level-headed but lately had been into conspiracy theories. I know when not to engage him.
Ugh, you are right not to engage. Life is too short.
I’m sorry to hear about your Uncle and also the way you found out ā¹ļø.
I do remember saying to myself (from time to time) that I wish I could divorce my family.
Thanks, Gail. I should have a come-back on the divorcing the family comment but I canāt think of the actual quote. I may dream about it ?
?
??
So sorry, that’s just wrong.
Thanks, Robin. I have good memories of this uncle, very kind, very gentle and even though weāre not blood, he has the shopping genes, too … way way way more indulgent than mine.
Neroli Outrenoir for my Friday. I’m visiting my mother for a few days, and very much looking to spending a few days with her. Lots of talking and fabric shopping š
And catching up with Kanuka on Monday!
Hope you have a great time with tour mum and with kanuka!
Ooh, sounds like great fun! Say hi to kanuka for me!
Songs of the day:
https://youtu.be/gDR1-JD4Sms
https://youtu.be/lX8GG3dnsp8
Possibility of rather nasty weather here later on today, so I’m keeping an eye to the sky and a weather app at the ready.
SOTD = ELdO’s Fat Electrician.
You smell good and it is yucky out.
Thank you!
I hope that your yucky weather was gone quickly…
Hope it’s not too bad there. I like your songs today?
Yes to the songs!
A little wet, and a lot humid!
As for the songs, sometimes they just pop into my head. Other times, I happen to hear them on the radio and decide “Yeah, that’s the perfect thing for today!”
We ended up with nothing more than a little rain, hope you were equally lucky.
Yes, I was! A bit of rain around 6pm or so, then nothing.
š
Galop d’Hermes
Hmmmm It’s that time of year. LoVe! You smell classy!
I’m not on the CP yet, saving that for actual Friday (tomorrow). Today I’m in Roja Dove’s Danger “parfum cologne”, and loving it! The two most prominent notes are basically lavender and oakmoss, both of which I love. Wonderful lavender and citrus opening! On Fragrantica it says “Pour Homme”, but it smells great on me (not “homme”). Definitely unisex.
Related to Jicky?
You know, it does remind me of Jicky! My favorite formulation of Jicky to date is the EDT, which I find more sparkling in its opening than the EDP, and Danger parfum cologne has a similar vibe.
Thank you! I like the EdT best too, although the vintage Parfum is also fantastic.
Oh goodness what AREN’T I wearing today?
I began the day in Houbigant Essence Rare, then topped it off in a few hours with leather….MSN Spanish Leather (what a pendulum swing) with little VC&A Moonlight Patchouli to pull out some iris (couldn’t find my decant of my first choice) and Spanish leather with Rose Flash on the other arm. They both worked! It’s the opening of Spanish Leather that I am easing experimenting with.
Then while decanting for my daughter hours later, I crazily confused the Corsica Furiosa with the Cuir Ottoman (same identical decant sizes).
But now my samples are here featuring grapefruit and yuzu.
I bet you are dizzy by now. I am laughing.
That’s alot of perfume! I’m on scent no.4 for the day, but I’ve spaced them pretty far apart, time wise.
I know (giggle) !
Oh my! I bet you smelled great all day, though!
I think I hit a new record. Luckily some were bare drops of scent.
I wonder what would happen if I did Spanish leather and No.22? Could I make a new CdR like the old one? I may try it today. What do you think? (I am such an amateur at this!)
I wore gold bond powder today to help get hives under control. not bad after six months of no episodes.
Our hair salons are open again and I am going on Saturday.
Good luck on your hair appointment. It was such a relief for me on August 10.
Enjoy your hair appointment!
Robin, thanks to Kevin’s review (which you mention) I am also wearing Grand Chalet, which I love, though it doesn’t linger too long on me, but then nothing seems to nowadays! A great summer scent.
Ah, then you smell great! I think it does pretty well on me…4-5 hours? That’s as long as I want a perfume to last anyway š
Finally made up my mind of what to wear for “Zest and Smoulder”: St. Clair Scents’ Frost, which has lots of citruses in its opening notes and a strong smoke note. I love her scents and I’m enjoying Frost, but it wouldn’t be my top choice of hers (so far, that’s still Gardener’s Glove). Happy start of Labor Day Weekend, if you’re in the US!
