It's Tuesday and Coast Guard Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
My music: For a rainy day, an abrupt-genre-shift medley... Elvis Presley's Kentucky Rain, followed by Louis Armstrong (it's his birthday today!) doing the gospel song Didn't It Rain, and then The Temptations with I Wish It Would Rain. My scent: Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile, in the original (but now discontinued) Eau de Toilette. My tea: Harney CTC Assam with a bit of cardamom.
Reminder: 8/7 we're doing Playlist Friday, again...name a favorite song, and wear a perfume that fits the song. (We did this project twice in 2017.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2020, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
The album version of Kentucky Rain, over a bunch of live footage.
Bonus track: Page and Plant doing The Rain Song live in Melbourne in 1996.
Scent: Balenciaga Paris
Music (not a song, instrumental): Erik Satie Once Upon A Time In Paris https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9WKC5sT9Z4
That is actually a perfect rainy morning song…and you smell great.
Another Satie lover!
SOTD: Winter Palace (Memo Paris). Can’t think of music to go along with it… š
I don’t know the smell, but the name makes me think of Hazy shade of Winter by the Bangels.
Ooh, great song!
Simon and Garfunkel sang that too!
They did. I loved that song.
Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt for me today, needed something to wake me up on this very rainy day (Isaias passing by!). I always forget how much I like this one.
You smell good!
Are you a jeweller? Just noticed your name and wondered.
Nope – though I have taken a metalsmithing class and used to make jewelry!
Early for a change! We haven’t had rain yet but the forecast is bleak. So for a bleak day, a moody perfume that doesn’t overpower in humid weather – PoTL.
And today’s song: the inimitable Ann Peebles, signing ‘I can’t stand the rain”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5Rjo_imHDE
Perfect song, I should have had it in my medley!
Lol if only I could spell! She’s not signing, she’s singing.
I knew š
Iām in NVC Trayee from a travel spray which I paired with one of my favorite songs from Sheila Chandra:
https://instagram.com/stories/vantasticviews/2367961277774790727?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&igshid=3nol7hyuru1q
Excellent pairing! Plus extra T-Rex footage just for fun!?
Love the sweet puppygirl and her play bow! ā¤ļø?
I donāt listen to music much so Iām terrible at this CP!
In Oeillet Bengale. This is one of my favorite scents and when I saw that a back up travel spray set I had been eyeing got sold out I fled to ebay in a panic and bought a FB at a very good price.
I probably shouldnāt have but if the discontinuation rumors are true my future self is thanking me. And I will probably offer some decants in the next splitmeet cuz there is no way I need 100 ml of even this.
Cold and grey here – boo.
Itās beautiful here!??I will try and send some your way!
Please please do!
Congrats on your new bottle!
Thanks although I totally broke my perfume budget!
I love a good panic buy. There are some perfumes you just can bear to be without.
Ha! I know what you mean
Thanks for that bonus video Robin! Such a great song! My favorite Zeppelin album of all time.
Iām in Narciso edt, or Black Cube as I like to call it. Pairing it with AC/DCās Back in Black which just turned 40 a couple of weeks ago. Yet another reminder of how old I am. Sigh.
My daughter gets her braces off today.? Again! Yes, she inherited my crowded teeth and has gone through two rounds of braces. Poor kid. Between braces and summer camp, I hope she doesnāt plan on going to college. (Iām just kidding?). At least she didnāt also inherit my extra wisdom teeth. I had 8, my son had 7.
Yay!
I hated every day of braces and thank my parents every day for my perfect teeth.
Yes, sheās really been looking forward to this. The ortho was closed for a few weeks so it got delayed. She is more than ready to be done!
Forty years! Dang. I still have my album. Not a bad song on it.
I know right?! My husbands truck just got rifled through the other night (he never locks it?) and he was like phew, they didnāt take the AC/DC.?
Both Erik Satie and Robert Plant have the power to uplift and break my heart at the same time.
Music is the soundtrack, fragrance the place and time. Food the emotion. It all just fits together to make up this journey.
Must teach two workshops today.
No rain on west coast of course. Cool morning.
Some Satori Mizunara for the day.
so odd to have an overcast morning in August here in so Cal! I overslept because the bright sunshine wasn’t here to wake me. oops. š
I am enjoying it.
it is nice to have moderate weather in August š
Kelly CalĆØche EdT. No song for this one. Just nice leathery goodness. (But…I think Iāve picked my Friday scent/song combo)
So very tired today. Thank you to those who expressed condolences over our little old lady, Hallie. She was about 18.5 years old, and my husband tamed her feral kitten heart in early 2002 when we discovered her sheltering in our hallway from the alley next door (thus her name.). She moved with us from NYC to CA and back to NYC. She just took a big turn the last few weeks, such that it made sense to let her go. She was the smallest of our kitties, but was the most fearsome. None of the other cats messed with her. My husband was her sun, moon and stars.
So…Agnes was unsettled last night and woke me numerous times with meowing and wanting to be petted. It seemed like every time Iād fall asleep, sheād wake me. Iām just plain groggy.
Normally Iād be doing the sandwich-making thing but I donāt have the energy. Unfortunately, that means not only am I home with the water off till late this afternoon, but I might have to live through my husband watching his football team, Fulham, play at Wembley for a final promotion slot. Pray for me! ???
I miss your post about Hally. I am so sorry and sad about it. Sending you comforting hugs.
Very sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing the story of her life.
her little feral self was waiting for you.
Sending hugs. So sorry. My cat was also a stray. They have a special place in our hearts.
very sorry about Hallie, she won at life when she found you and your husband.
I had a tiny calico named Callie who moved from the west coast to the northeast and back west with me over her 18+ years š I still miss her.
I’m a catless cat lady so please keep sharing your Agnes with us. Take care (and take a nap if you can!), and good luck at Wembley!
Am so sorry about your Hallie. She had a full & happy life with you- and that is something to feel good about even as you mourn her.
So sorry to hear about Hallieās passing, hugs to you.
I was sorry to read about Hallie yesterday. I know the feeling of loss of a much loved pet. Sending tons of virtual hugs.
So sorry about your kitty! You’re smelling wonderful in Kelly Caleche. I grew up around horses, and it always makes me think of walking into saddlery shops. All that yummy delicious fine leather.
I somehow missed the story yesterday. I too am very sorry at your sad loss. I know how tough it is and hope your other kitty gets over it before long.
Didn’t know about your cat, it’s so hard, sending hugs.
Oh I am so sorry about Hailey – big hugs
I was so sorry to read about Hallie.
She was a very lucky kitty to have found such a good home.
So sorry LizzieB. I hope the others (cats) shower you guys with love today.
I missed your post too, Iām sorry about Hallie. Itās so hard to say goodbye to a pet.
So sad to hear about your Hallie. Hugs.
I missed your post about Hallie, too. Iām so sorry you had to let her go, and hope that snuggles with Agnes will help ease the pain. Hope you get some rest tonight!
I think Agnes is in tune with your emotions and wanted to tell you you did the right thing.
Oh no, I am so sorry about Hallie š I am glad she lived a good, long life, and that you and Agnes can comfort each other <3
Missed your Hallie post – sorry for your loss, but also so so happy you rescued her and gave her so many good years. My condolences to you and your husband on having to say goodbye to a treasured furry friend.
I’m so sad to hear about your sweet Hallie; hugs and comforting pats to you, your husband, and Agnes.
Hello all!
Wow, I love this week’s poll theme! I feel as passionately about music as I do perfume!
Today I went with CdG Black, heavenly smoky barbeque. I’ll pair that with “I Got Knocked Down” by School of Seven Bells, one of my favorite bands. They recorded this cover after one of the two band members was diagnosed with a very rare lymphoma; in fact he produced and recorded it from the hospital. I can’t believe it was so long ago now.
I think the video is just gorgeous, and Black has a very similar feeling to me. Turn down your volume a little if you click!
https://youtu.be/orutQKKsvp4
Stay safe, everyone.
You smell great!!
Great pairing and you smell so good!
Robin, you smell glorious! I am continuing my jazz/scent pairings this week in Vol de Nuit parfum. I’ve been favoring jazz trumpet lately (Chris Botti – yum), but right now the internet station I listen to all day is playing Gene Ammons doing Miss Lucy on saxophone, and it’s blending very nicely with VdN.
And of course so do you!
What internet station do you listen to?
It’s called The Jazz Groove, jazz groove.org (and no affiliation, of course, other than a normal membership subscription). I think you can listen for free, but I support them by subscribing, which also gets one the ability to skip songs and switch to different “channels” (there’s one for bedtime, one with all vocals, etc.), but I like their main channel best – they do an amazing job of curating an enormous collection.
And there’s no space in the website name – autocorrect apparently decided to autocorrect despite the .org suffix. š
A belated thank you, will check it out!
Shalimar EdT ā¤.
We are having light rain from Isaiah now. It is another hot and muggy day.
I did some damage at B&BW yesterday. Got some hand sanitizers and some bottles of the Aromatherapy Lavender Vanilla shower gel and pillow mist.
I liked how organized they were at the store. They have an employee outside to open the door for people and you are asked to apply hand sanitizer at the table they have at the entrance before you start your shopping. They got rid of their regular bags to put items inside during shopping. Instead you grab your regular shopping bag, put the items inside and at the end the cashier uses hand sanitizer, rings everything up and gives the bag back to you with your purchase. Before leaving the store they ask you again to use the hand sanitizer and an employee inside opens the door for you to go out. They don’t allow more than 8 people at a time in the store. I felt very comfortable about it. Wish all the stores were doing the same.
My BBW store does pretty much the same thing, without the hand sanitizer stuff.
My Sephora also does the hand sanitizer at the door. I haven’t been to BBW yet, I tried but the line was longer than I anticipated.
I tried to go to Sephora, but it was pretty crowded inside. BBW was almost empty. It is good to see some stores reinforcing their own protocols very seriously. It makes the shopping experience more comfortable.
I also stopped by at my local UPS to return something, just to find the manager arguing with a customer refusing to wear a mask. It was stressful, but we have to deal with that reality the best way possible.
I found Sephora very stressful. I’m a browser, and I felt like I couldn’t do that there.
Yes. I’m a browser, too, and that just isn’t possible these days.
The nearest Sephora is an hour away, so I would make a morning of it.
But, not now.
Me too. I walked in and right back out again when I went there recently. No perfume to sniff, no makeup to sample….whatās the point?
You smell super wonderful.
Thank you! ?
Dame Minty Man w/ Nina Simone In The Morning ?
Nina Simone, perfect! Feeling Good š š š
Yes, have been listening to the Best of Nina Simone playlist on Amazon Music and it’s amazing. š
oh! two thumbs up, thank you for mentioning that. Now I’ve got Nina queued up on Amazon Music for this evening. š
Ohhh Nina Simone, great pick!
Was wondering what folks think about TF Lost Cherry and if the vanilla is pronounced please?
Debating a pretty travel spray but haven’t sniffed it yet…
I only sampled it once. Cherry, tobacco, and patch from what I can remember.
Thanks, Petunia!
Still in Coco Mademoiselle right now. Woke up late but I am on vacation so it doesn’t matter. I don’t have any plans today. After my shower, I think an unhealthy dose of Les Annees 25 BIS and Halo playing is in order. Or catching up on Dr. Pol. Boring, I know.
I love boring!
lol’d at unhealthy dose! too much of a good thing is never enough. š
You smell great! I went through a couple bottles of Coco Mad in my twenties, and still love it. Will be excited to try the new one.
I always say boring is good. If it’s exciting, it means it’s gone wrong…
Doc Pol is so good to watch. Hope you had an enjoyable (and boring) day!
Copal Azur from Aedes for me today.
I really like these marine incense fragrances.
You smell awesome! ā¤
Thanks š
I need to wear Copal Azur again soon, thanks for the reminder! You smell great.
It’s worthy of a bottle, or at least that travel set of 3x10ml.
house twin
hi twin!
I haven’t smelled it, but the marine note doesn’t sound good to me…hope it’s not the calone note.
Marine and incense sound intriguing, though.
One of my top five, you smell fabulous Lucasi.
Yum!
Memoir Woman today. Matching music would be something dark and moody 80ies like maybe Anne Clarks Sleeper in Metropolis. Three sprays lasted the whole day.
Now making zucchini frittata with Merguez after we did an hour long walk through the fields.
Joining you in the house with Lyric. Wish I could go for a long walk too but we are having pouring rain until tomorrow afternoon, hurricane Isaiah.
I love love merguez – yum!
Weirdly, I woke up in the mood for lily of the valley–this is a very unusual thing for me to crave! So am in Miu Mui’s L’eau Bleue, which is a pretty, inoffensive little thing. Music for this one: Nanci Griffith’s version of Love at the Five and Dime (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwevqcForgM)
Just bought my son’s one way airline ticket back to college, and praying that it won’t be a seat on the ship of fools. He’ll be in Providence next year, a college town, with all the concerns that that raises. Blergh!
In other news, my other son’s COVID test from yesterday came back negative this AM. No surprise there, but good to know I guess. He has surgery (very minor, no overnight) on Thursday so I guess he’s all set. . .
Good luck to both of your sons! That’s a lot to worry about. Providence isn’t so bad. If he’s somewhere on the east side, it’s quite lovely. Some of the oldest homes in the country are on Benefit Street. Plus, Providence Perfume is on the East Side. ?
Best of luck to your sons!
I liked your rabbit story! My latest idea is that the rabbits take on the personality/identity of the real inhabitants (people) buried in their ‘grave homes’. So, one rabbit would be an upper class politician with a Scottish accent, another could be a suffragette, another the woman who ran the largest hotel in Australasia during the gold rush, another coukd be the world record holder for long distance walking, another the founder of the botanic gardens….all people who are buried in the cemetery. So it could be a historical /entertaining children’s book?
Well, I prefer that it is a rabbit hobby, that they study the names and dates, etc. of those buried, and adopt the characteristics–otherwise it might come across that they are a bunch of “possessed” rabbits. The Hill rabbits, of course, would find the affectations of the Graveyard rabbits a bit much, and look down on them. Especially when Graylin, the pirate rabbit, insists on waving a sword about and shouting “shiver me timbers” at every passing coney. Duchess, a Hill rabbit and a REAL duchess, starts to take an interest, despite herself, in the the handsome cottontail with the Scottish accent who is forever trying to pass legislation and improve the municipality. Of course, he is oblivious of her or of any of the female rabbits, who wouldn’t have a vote anyway should his measures make the ballot. And this is where suffragette Bonnie (pronounced “Buunny”) unwittingly becomes the catalyst for their meeting. . . and the rest, as they say, is carrots.
What a week! Best of Luck Oakland Fresca.
I agree w/Kanuka, your bunny story last night was very cute!
Good luck to both of your sons!
Good luck to your sons! Iām not used to hearing in-person attendance regardless of level of school.
Working from home today and wearing Enchanted Forest. I don’t listen to this type of music often but would pair it with something Celtic…
I don’t really listen to Celtic music. I used to work with a guy who played in a Celtic band, and was surprised at how many clubs he was playing. More popular than I knew!
Sometimes I will watch a concert on PBS but that’s about it for me. Could I have been any more vague? ?
You smell great!
Thanks Sebastian! ?
I loved my sample of Enchanted Forest!
I was an instant love for me but I dodn’t expect to like it so much. It really works for me in the heat.
*waves*
Hi all.
2) BodyPump session this morning during my work break- and after that, The Body Shop Satsuma body sorbet, which smells like sherbet.
1) MomCat got her spay surgery on Saturday- not too expensive, since I had a pet insurance that I had completely forgot about until the lady pointed to the card in my wallet! (I share a dog with my friends.)
So MomCat was so angry at being caught! She yowled in my garage so loud! But she had water and was thankfully sheltered from the worse of the heat last week. When I took her, they sedated her, then gave her shots, deworming medicine and a flea dip. The doctors estimated that she gave birth about 2 1/2 weeks ago (the kitten hadn’t opened their eyes when I found them, so that makes sense) and she was still lactating- but she was coming into heat AGAIN, so it was good that I brought her in.
After the spay, MomCat rested over the weekend to get her strength back up, had one of her ears tipped off, and later on this afternoon I will release her back into the neighborhood. I did buy some very fancy cat food so she could have proper nutrition in one of her feeding sites (there’s an elder who feeds neighborhood cats).
I think you are amazing to have rescued her, will you be able to keep an eye on her, do you think?
Well I don’t know! She and other cats are fed by an elder time to time, so she may pop up on my radar. But really, she came into my backyard to have kittens in a safe area that was shaded from sun and predators (hawks and other birds of prey circle around my neighborhood). I had a space in the the fence that is now fixed. Unless I leave food out (which I won’t because raccoons and rodents) she probably won’t visit my backyard again.
How does dog sharing work? Intrigued
Well, it does not work NOW, since we are in quarantine, but I would share S with my friends in Beaverton for a couple of nights a week. He loves being over in the city and going hikes in the parks here.
You’re a cat hero. Thanks for looking after MomCat!
Today’s song is James Taylor’s Steamroller, SOTD is Pulp, for obvious reasons. A gorgeous summer day here, not too hot. Going outside for a walk and then to the grocery store to replenish some staple items and fresh veg.
Great song!
Smelling great today.
Sotd is Mitsouko. I find that people seem to mention that they are always looking to understand Mitsouko or they say that they haven’t “got” it yet. So my song pairing is The Who, Who are you?
https://youtu.be/PNbBDrceCy8
In other news, my son has a job interview at my work today.. lol
A good idea? We shall see!
So very true about Mitsouko. I find it beautiful and compelling but never want to wear it. Great pairing!
And good luck to your son. He sounds like a nice kid. He’ll be great!
Thank you! He is a nice kid, that’s why I get so nervous sending him out in the world. At first I was against him working while going to school, but realized he needs to get some experience. Idk..
Good luck to your son?I think it’s a very good idea.
To answer you from yesterday I too preferred Sting with the Police, the musicianship was better.
Good luck to your son!
Good luck to your son!
Oh I really hope he has a good interview experience! Sending best wishes!!!!

I woke up this morning feeling tender hearted, so this gentle (not savage!) carnation scent feels right.
I’m not often hungry early in the day, but breakfast was the first thing on my mind today. The blueberries in my oatmeal were exquisite.
I took clean laundry out of the dryer and breathed in the smell of warm cotton. It was so perfect it made me a bit teary-eyed.
Wishing everyone a terrific Tuesday.
Clean laundry is the best. Just listening to the dryer tumbling is soothing to me.
same! I like the sound of the tumble dryer, but have a hard time with droning of a room fan or an airplane engine tho š
That’s a nice one!
š
Rose being my go-to, “everything’s going to be okay” scent, and having a small pile of Hiram Green samples to work through, I’m trying out Lustre today. Rosey rosey rose rose Von Roseness roseypants. Haven’t gotten to the dry-down yet, but so far quite pleasant and like a slightly rounder and less-shrill version of Tea Rose. Gunpowder green tea, windows open to a cool coastal breeze, no music because I’m allegedly working from home.
The drydown on Lustre is wonderful. I found the tea rose opening somewhat alarming but fortunately it doesnāt last (I hate tea rose).
I am also in love with the dry down! I think my experience is similar. With this I discovered I like olibanum and can really smell it here mixed with the rose and enjoy it more and more as it dries. Tea rose can go too shrill and piercing on me ( Sa Majeste la Rose Iām looking at you..) but this does manage to stay put and not cross over to the sour shouty note.
Lol! At your rosy description ?
Rosey Von Roseness could be the next perfume from SmellBent š
There’s a bossy squirrel who comes in the yard begging for nuts. We call him Squeaky-Squeak Squeakerpants McSqueakersons.
Your bossy squirrel has a distant cousin in our backyard, way south of you!
š squirrels get around!
I love music, and I love perfume. I should rock at this cp, but nope, got nuthin’. I’m much better at the pair a painting with perfume cp. Although I would like to suggest Jim Byrnes for an alternate version of Didn’t It Rain. And just Jim Byrnes in general.
A La Nuit for me today. Lovely, lush jasmine bomb.
Hopefully we will do at least one more picture challenge before the year is out!
Oh, and will check out the Jim Byrnes version when I get power back…
I’m also bad at this CP. I just don’t make connections like that. Same as NovemberRose above, a lot more natural to me to link to paintings. Anyway I am another Memo wearer today with Lalibella.
How was your memoir session? How wonderful that you can trace your family history back to the late 1700s.
Well, people laughed at he right places, bit I was miffed that the teacher just moved us along to the next reader without calling for comments. And this was after one guy got almost twenty minutes of comments! On what I thought was a terrible piece. I understand that she had some time concerns when she got to me, but as a long-time teacher myself I felt she should have managed better. Thanks for asking. If you should ever happen to want to read one, send me your e-mail. Iām cfreeland with four nines in the yahoo world. No obligations of course, and theyāre short, just 800 words. Iām finding that I want photos to go with each story, and that might well turn into something interesting. Several of the other participants are quite gifted and itās just very rewarding.
I am wearing Hove Camellia and currently drinking my third cup of golden tip assam tea. If I had to pair music with my fragrance it would be something mellow and fun. Maybe “You Go To My Head” by Linda Ronstadt.
Thank you AnnieA for your recommendation for the Alive Inside documentary. My husband and I watched it last night. It is truly remarkable the effect music has on people and their memories.
Oh good, still hoping to watch that one.

House twins in Le Labo Iris 39. I hope you and your property (and also the neighbour’s property) are ok after the tree incident! Oh my goodness, very scary.
I received my sample of Bee today (among others?). Just dabbed a bit on my outer wrist. It’s really opulent and I also noticed that Zoologist offers travel sizes!
Hey house twin! I looked at the travel sprays and they are nice; however, I figured Iām going to split the bottle so I go let a bottle!

I was driving home last night just as the full moon was rising and it cast the most beautiful blue glow over the hill and harbour. I was trying to think of which ‘moon’ song to use :Natalie Merchant’ version of Blue Moon was a contender but I just read an article in today’s paper re. Neil Young ( suing re. Use of his music without permission) so am going with Harvest Moon. I think the video also has Nicolette Larsen as backup. Perfume is not Epidor as I finished my sample but JM oats and cornflowers. Check out the moon if you remember. It is almost setting here. Love the moon!

Oh, I love Nicolette Larsen, she is on my playlist! Sure miss her.
The full moon was beautiful here last night too.
We are also at nearly a full moon now. Funny that the hemispheres see a similar moon. I never really thought about it before.
My parents had a record when I was child–Mary Hopkins. She sings about a moon journey, a lullaby. I will see if I can find a youtube version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7Tj-i3E22A
Comments about Aedes de Venustas have prompted me to wear Palissandre d’Or, I’m completely blank on a suitable musical accompaniment š
Hey, just smelling great is enough.
In Dior Addict Eau Delice, the only cranberry and cherry perfume I have and like. I would put a video by the Cranberries but I don’t know how to paste the link, I’m too stupid to understand the instructions of what to do with my copied link.
Your perfume sounds delightful and technology confounds many of us.
If you’re using a mouse, you should be able to right click and paste.
If you’re using your fingers, after you’ve copied the link, just press steadily on the spot in your post where you want the link. The word paste should appear. Just press paste with one finger and it should paste the link in that spot. I think that should work. I’m an Android user. I have no idea if it works the same with an Iphone.
Thank you Petunia, how kind?, I’ve tried various things but will try your way on my android phone.
Addict Eau Delice is really a really good flanker not too sweet.
I chose FM Eau de Magnolia and it’s so beautifully refreshing! I was thinking what song would fit it, but the project is to pick a favorite song and pair it with a perfume, not the way around, isn’t it?
Anyway, I think it works with an uplifting song like Tiesto Elements of Life.
My only Malle scent. It’s so perfect for hot summer days. You smell great!
Yes, perfect for summer. Thanks!
I think you can play this game either way!
Absolutely, it doesn’t matter at all.
Well typically this CP would be so fun for me but I am having trouble finding inspiration.
But, I did hear a new release from Walter Trout, he is a old (been around awhile blues guy of real talent) guitar player who had a stroke a few years back and had to relearn EVERYTHING, even reading, writing, walking, but remastered his great musical skills on top of it all.
He has a new song out “All Out of Tears”(quite appropriate I’d say ) but this is his best work imho:
Me, my guitar and the blues. https://youtu.be/2935ckkxiJg
I forgot and back in Tamarindo by Memo again today.
Adding that to my list of links to watch tomorrow when we get power back!
Yay! Good luck with your power Robin, you guys really got hit with a surprise wallop.
Enough already, Sheesh!
Iām in Grace Coddington, pairing it with Carey by Joni Mitchell. Other songs would work with this fragrance, like Chelsea Morning, but I just love Carey. Thereās a point in the video when sheās just a bit off key, and she grins.
https://youtu.be/DnQK53FMxGw
Wishing safety and comfort for those dealing with the hurricane today. Hugs! ?
Grace is such a pretty rose. š I love that bottle too!
Earl Grey & Cucumber today to help beat the heat. I think it’s lovely but as with most JMs on me, fleeting-wish I’d brought my sample so I could respray. Will when I get home. Yesterday I wore Olfactive Studio Panorama which I REALLY enjoyed.
Don’t have the energy to do a music association today. I love that project, but just not feeling creative or perky today. Maybe I can get it together for the rest of the week!
that is one of the most refreshing JM scents ever š so good!
I’m having a great day today, for no apparent reason at all. I’ll take it. SOTD is Ciel d’Opale, which I find just terribly pretty. I’ll take that, too.

of a good day!
Robin, I’ve got a couple of songs to add to your abrupt genre shift playlist: Feels Like Rain, by John Hiatt, and Tina Turner’s I Can’t Stand the Rain.
Oh yay! And now I need songs about rain knocking out the power, ha!
It is about 9 pm here, and we have not had power since about 11 am…not sure when we’ll get it back. Am using my phone but not likely I’ll catch up on comments tonight, and if the poll is late tomorrow, I still don’t have power!
Oh dear- thatās a long time to go without power. Hope itās restored soon!
Ugh! I hope your power is restored quickly. We got a lot of wind and 20 minutes of hard rain which we desperately need.
I hope everything is restored soon; that is a really long time to be without power and all the creature comforts that go along with it.
I hope you get the power back soon. There is lots of destruction in my area. The power may get disconnected at anytime now. Be well!
Just finished a scorching bath in German water mint/peppermint bath salts, and am now in my standard bedtime Kiehl’s Original Musk – standard because the black cat, Kate, seems to like it when she’s getting her nightly brushings, as she’ll always turn her head to sniff my wrist once or twice.
With Kiehl’s Original being named “Love Musk” I’m pairing it with a song I recently fell in love with, “Face of Love” by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Eddie Vedder.
