Happy Almost-Friday! What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Santa Maria Novella Queen's Cologne, from a decant I found hiding in an old purse. It smells shockingly good considering it's got to be at least 10 years old.
Reminder: on 7/24, wear a perfume by Zoologist, Xerjoff, Worth Paris or Yosh if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letters W, X, Y or Z.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2020, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

One of my summer faves–Freschiiissimo from Hilde Soliani to cut through heat and humidity
I was just outside, it is crazy humid here!
I’m wearing Civet as my penultimate CP fragrance.
Racking up the points!
I could not wear this in our very warm weather, it’s a winter scent for me
To tell the truth, my sprayer on my discovery set sample was defective, and I barely got a spray. The first was fine, but any subsequent sprays were just drops. It has disappeared and I really didn’t get an impression of the fragrance. I finally put on some Assam of India after lunch.
You smell grand.
Robin, I prefer my perfumes 10 years old ?
Black Perfecto , thunk!
Some don’t make it that long though!
I love Black Perfecto. The gray market has it super discounted if that thunk echos too long….
Good morning all! My SOTD is AV by Adrienne Vittadini, soft and powdery. I’ve got my sneakers on and headed out the door!
Question for the perfumista hive mind – has anyone tried AV Midnight Blossom? It’s not in any of the perfume databases (Basenotes or Fragrantica). It’s been described as powdery, violet, woods…
😀
Enjoy your stroll
I don’t think I have seen any Adrienne Vittadini perfumes in ages!
In ELDO Fat Electrician. Full bottle thunk! I will miss it, but not enough to replace it.
House Twin! Congrats on that thunk!
Hi House Twin! ?. You smell terrific in Fils de Dieu! Every time I wear it I remember how much you love it!
I do love ELDO scents – and congrats on the thunk!
I also love and enjoy many of the ELDOs. Jasmin et Cigarette is one of my big favorites ❤
Six full ELDO bottles snuck their way into my collection. Love them all! Jasmin et Cigarette is glorious.
Ooh, congrats! A thunk is a rare treat.
Especially if it is a full bottle!
Just curious, how long did it take to thunk?
3 years!
Not bad, really.
Whoo hoo on your full bottle THUNK!
?
What a find, Robin!
I am going all green, mossy and floral with:
Lush Guardian of the Forest shower gel (cypress, oakmoss, lime are listed, plus I smell either lily-of-the-valley or gardenia in it)
Yardley Lily-of-the-valley body talc (LOTL, citrus, geranium, magnolia)
Ann Gerard Perle de Mousse perfume (EDP?) on top (LOTL, bergamot, ivy, galbanum, gardenia)
You must smell amazing. Waft in my direction, please.
Thank you! *wafts towards sistine*
Full on forestry – love it!
Thank you! The start of Perle de Mousse was very forest-like, but the dry-down is a bit too sour (aldehydes + citrus probably). Still very green. 🙂
I love Perle de Mousse.
Gorgeous!
That sounds divine!!
Ooh, Guardian of the Forest sounds intriguing. I consider that as my Rose Jam dwindles.
Off to eye doc to see about this cataract (no pun intended)
Indochine simply because I love it so much.
Good luck with your appointment!
Thank you Sistine!
Good luck, are you getting a diagnosis or actually having cataract surgery? I hope it goes well. Something I will have to face in the next year or two (cataract surgery).
The surgery is a breeze! No sedation needed. They give you topical anesthetic, so the eye I’m numb. I was in and out in about an hour, start to finish.
That’s good to hear!
Thank you all for the good wishes!
They are delaying cataract surgery until maybe thanksgiving time..it is just about as easy as Deva said. But the whole process..with Covid, the goal is to delay until things are maybe safer in the fall or winter. Right now we are on the verge on another shutdown in Los Angeles and it means having someone take me and bring me home and on and on.
But I did get a new prescription and new glasses- green looks great with my gray hair.
Good Luck, apsara!
Good luck at the eye doc.
Hope it went well. You smell fab!
I hope that your cataract appointment went well, apsara!
I’m in 10 Corso Como and enjoying a rare morning with the house all to myself. Heaven. I think part of my pandemic fatigue is that I never have any time to myself anymore. I’m either at work surrounded by people, or at home surrounded by people. My family has remained healthy though, so I do try to focus on the big picture.
I’m glad you’re getting some alone time. Some of my pandemic fatigue is tied to always being in the same place (home). I mean, I like my house, but I haven’t really left it for more than an hour since March.
You smell beautiful.
Thanks!
Yeah, I could see that. I love my family too, but we’ve been spending a LOT of time together.?
I don’t know how you (or anyone else in this position) do it. I would go stark raving mad. I hope you’re able to carve out a little more alone time as the days go by. Big hat tip to you! ?
Thanks Deva, some days I do feel like I am going stark raving mad, believe me!?The other day I had a moment of frustration with my daughter after a long and busy shift and then I felt like such a lousy mom. I got all teary the next day when I apologized to her. Ugh. Like She-ra said a few days ago….just keep swimming….
Completely agree on the fatigue of never being alone which sounds strange but is very true for me too. I am also grateful for our health and Fudge Brownie M&M’s which are a new discovery this week.?
Those sound delicious! Sweets are my weakness. I’ve been trying to cut back over the last couple of weeks. I made the comment recently that this quarantine has not been good for my waistline and my daughter was like,” but….you haven’t been quarantined, you’ve still been going to work” lol. I guess it’s been comfort eating then.
Oh, hopefully I will never see those. Ack, that sounds good.
Oh my they sound wonderful!
I was thinking this exact thing this morning. I have had exactly one hour by myself since March. Unless you count my drive to work, which I don’t. Like you, I looked at the big picture and am grateful for the health of my family. Enjoy your free time!
It ended up being all of an hour.?I don’t count my commute either because it’s ten minutes. It is an opportunity to crank some tunes and sing in the car though.??
I’m a seriously introverted introvert. Alone time is a necessity, even when surrounded by people you like. Glad you have the house to yourself this morning!
I’m an introvert too, and an only child, so I grew up spending lots of time alone and liked it. It’s how I recharge and there has not been a whole lot of recharging over the last few months.?
Me too. If my sister and I lived together we would do best in houses next to each other. Need copious time and space.
I hear you! I can deal with the kids , but the whole family in the house is more stressful, especially since there is only one desk….I’ve finally convinced hubs to go to his office, which is deserted.
I’m going to get so used to everyone being home that when and if things ever do get back to “normal,” it’s going to feel weird. This is our new normal.
My husband is still doing WFH and almost never leaves the house (he is indolent and loves his computer games)…. I feel you, I would love to have the house to myself for a bit! Not even that I would do anything differently, just having the house to yourself even temporarily is so calming.
My friends with kids in the house — bigs, littles, and in between — are saying pretty much the same thing. They generally all have very good relationships with the kids and are happy to have them at home, but the non-stop togetherness and clamor is wearing.
I’m sampling Crazy Enough by West Third Brand for partial CP points. It’s reading as a lovely jasmine-tuberose blend on my skin. Not crazy, but extremely pleasant.
So many things to do. I do not like moving at the best of times, and pandemic moving is something else! Making a cup of tea to have a break, then back to it.
Moving, like to another place ?
Yep. We’re moving from South Carolina to North Carolina. It’s quite an adventure.
I didn’t know you were in SC. I have family there.
Good luck with the move!
Wow – a perfume house I have never heard of. Off to look up West Third.
Best of luck with your move. So much work!
Good luck w/ packing. I also have not heard of this brand but will research and hope they have at least one vanilla. 😉
Moving is stressful, but I hope this change is for the better. Good luck!
I moved in December. Nope, not fun. But it was an opportunity to clear out no longer needed/wanted/loved stuff.
Moving is definitely stressful, but also cathartic. I enjoy the process of getting rid of unneeded things. Best of luck!
Good luck with the move!
I love the name of your SOTD!
SOTD is ELDO Fils de Dieu because I lurves it so!

Happy Almost Friday Day✌?
Oh, I love that scent! It just always makes me smile. You smell great.
It’s a very optimistic scent, which I’m needing more and more everyday.
T-Rex was out on the porch this morning when she started up a fierce racket! There she was, bouncing on all fours with the force of her barks and snarls, stiff legged, every single hair standing straight up, ears back, fangs flashing, and tail high flagged! It was like she was possessed! Nope, she just caught mom bear strolling around the corner of the house. Mom bear did a 180 and casually strolled the opposite direction. She was limping, so she must have been injured, maybe by a car. I hope she does ok…?
Oh, I hope the bear is OK. I always feel like we are visitors on their territory and we are not good guests as far as taking care of them . (Thinking of the whales and big ships out here in Seattle).
Me too! I’m right on the BRP and people use that road, meant for minimal to moderate speeds, as a drag strip. I’m hoping she didn’t get hit by a car. People are just so careless. I’m so tempted to leave something for her to eat, but feeding wild animals is a death sentence for them. In my heart, I wish I could make sure she has adequate nutrition…also, no sign of last years cubs with her today..?
Is it bad to feed backyard bunnies? Sometimes I leave them some lettuce.
Oh no, I hope she’s okay too!?
You smell good! It’s more of a winter scent for me, not sure why. Maybe because I bought it in winter…
Finishing off some Havana Vanille.
Yum!
Havana Vanille is wonderful.
Wearing Agar Ebene today. I don’t think I can join CP tomorrow…
Lucasai, I am not sure if I can either!
Good morning all! I’m up early today (for me). I have so many Zoologists that I’m confining myself to trying ones this week that I only have as samples, i.e., that have not previously caught my attention enough to buy in a larger size. (Zoologist has a nice-sized travel spray.) Today it’s Dragonfly. This is definitely worth revisiting. It’s just like it ought to be, airy and floating, with a shimmer of aldehydes. I’m definitely getting the almond of heliotrope with it too. There’s a very delicate floral that must be lotus flower. (I don’t think it’s peony which I would expect to be more spicy.) And something green (clover?). This is to my mind a beautifully blended scent that is pretty unusual and not like some of the more “bombastic” or “out there” Zoologist productions. (Some of which I also like.) I didn’t really like either Hummingbird or Nightingale as I found them both too sweet, but this is one that is in their ball park, so if you like those, I’d recommend giving it a try. Notes list from their website:
Top Notes: Aldehydes, Heliotrope, Lemon, Peony, Rainwater
Heart Notes: Cherry Blossom, Clover, Iris, Lotus, Rice
Base Notes: Amber, Moss, Musk*, Papyrus, Sandalwood
*Synthetic notes. Zoologist Dragonfly does not use animal products.
I haven’t looked hard enough for my Dragonfly sample but I recall really liking it, a travel spray would be nice. But I really like Elephant, too and I would only buy one. Have you tried Koala yet? I’m waiting to order a sample until I decide about the travel spray! So many perfume decisions. I like Sloth a lot, too.
No, I haven’t, but am curious about it.
Me too, eucalyptus seems tricky to work with.
That sounds really nice!
Wearing LADDM today. Need something dry and austere for the heat and work. I don’t know why I am dreading work today, just am. I keep getting all these spam phone calls on my cell and they keep leaving messages. I am happy that after today, I will be off the next 3 days.
Lovely scent
It is. If Andy Tauer ever decided to make this a body wash and moisturizer, I would probably be first in line to buy it.
That would be really great, would buy this too. A soap would also be nice
Great scent for humidity.
In Vivacious, from hajusuuri’s split. Perfect for the one day this week it’s a nice, upper 70s, non-humid day (the rest of the week looks unpleasant). On me, this is cheerful and carnationy, don’t get much violet or violet leaf, which is fine by me.
I like that one. Not sure I’d pay the price for it, but I like it.
Woo hoo! A wearing = 8 sprays and the violet I do smell is sweet and up top, and not lipsticky either.
Overcast and a little bit cool this morning, I’m wearing Amouage Homage.
Overcast and a little bit cool sounds appealing at the moment.
House twins today! I’m in Love Mimosa, a split with Lucas (the captain) and Undina.
Hmmmmmm, not sure I’ve ever tried any of my Amouage samples in the heat. Now’s the perfect time!
In HongKong Oolong this AM.
Strangely, but happily, this is the first time I have “gotten” this perfume. It was an ever so slightly unpleasant enigma in the past. Today, I love it. Who knows???
Anyone watching Love Is Blind?
I’m not, are you? Should I?
YES. Strangely, my colleagues all reported that the men in their households became engrossed as well–in my case, my 19 year old son who is hyper-judgmental and very PC insisted that we binge through two episodes at a time. Its a curiously addicting relationship reality show (I deeply loath all those Bachelor/ette show for reference). This one is painful (but less like watching a train wreck and more like listening to a drunk person at a party share their blow by blows of their worst dates) but impossible to turn off.
I will think about that…have never watched a dating show of any kind, and am not a fan of reality tv in general. Impossible to turn off is not always a good thing, LOL…
Many thanks!
Is this the Nez? I like it!
Got my walk in early this morning. It’s gray and drizzly and muggy which is a really nice change from blazing hot sunny and muggy.
Wearing Yes I Do. Enveloped in marshmallow-y white flower goodness.
Finished The Starless Sea. If, like me, you spent your childhood checking the backs of closets for passageways to Narnia, you will like this book. The trick is to not try and figure out where it is going, and just enjoy the ride. In the acknowledgements, the author thanks Elizabeth Barrial and Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. I guess Erin Morgenstern is a perfumista.
This is exactly how I spent my childhood! Especially when we would visit aunt’s and uncle’s and the kid’s were shooed away, lol. To this day, if I see an odd door somewhere, I wonder…
Yup, I still wonder too. : )
Hi November Rose, THAT is so cool about BPAl. They definitely have a strong tie to literature as well.
I have that book on my sample list. Did you enjoy it?
I really did. The writing is wonderful and there are all sorts of literary reference easter eggs. But you need to enjoy a meandering plot line and have great suspension of disbelief powers.
Sounds like a winner to me, thanks.
Oversprayed with Hermes Hiris today.
I’m so glad I got my bottle when I did because it was a missed opportunity on a trip to Florida that I repeatedly kicked myself
for. Glad it was still in the same “hiding spot” in the store when I finally got back there on my last trip to rescue it.
It was fate, I tell ya! Pure fate!
?
That’s great – I am all about perfume rescue! During the Christmas holiday season, I had resisted a $25 gift set of the new bottle of Lolita Lempicka at TJX. When our TJX re-opened in June, it was on clearance for $8! Funny story: the store still had all the Easter holiday decor out, like a time warp back to February.
Oh good score! Enjoy!
If you are going to overspray, might as well be with Hiris. You smell lovely!
Nuit Etoilée from a sample, but I just bought a used bottle. Took the boyfriend home from rehab, had a nice lunch in the Black forest with a big schnitzel and fries.
He is glad to be home
?? For being home! I hope he’s doing well and slowly getting back to normal. Sounds like he had a bit of a bumpy road to traverse.
I’m glad he’s home now!
Glad he’s back home!
Oh yay!
Good mews that he is back home again!
Hurray for your boyfriend being back home, and for a great sounding lunch on the way!
Welcome home to him!
So glad he’s home!
Good news about the return from rehab! Glad to hear it!
Cute pic!
SOTD = Amouage Love Mimosa
From a split with Lucas and Undina! Mimosa all day❣️
https://www.instagram.com/p/CC_igyWBIOC/?igshid=lgki01qy03qk
We had horrible thunderstorms yesterday and despite that, the air was really hot and humid this morning when I took out the trash. I am so done with this weather! I want Fall to come quickly and on the double!
In other news, I recall floragal mentioning one day for her being junkfood day or something to that effect. My contribution to that is I am incapable of throwing out junk food even if expired. I will always try it first and decide if it still tastes good and if it is, W00t!
Lol! What did you try that still tastes good?
This sounds like the split that just keeps giving ?
Pork rinds ?, the original kind ☺️. I have since found baked at 3x the cost and it satisfies my craving, especially if I add vinegar ?
The split swap package is a treasure trove for sure!
“July The Hot!” for sure this year.
I went to the new Sephora this morning. They have an expanded perfume section, although still not great. I was finally able to smell JM Velvet Rose and Oud. I had to get a SA to spray it on a strip. I loved it! I asked if she could spray my hand and she did from 6 feet away. She basically sprayed the air, and I had to catch it with my hand, LOL.
My sotd is Oud Bouquet because I was hoping I could convince myself it smells the same as the Jo Malone. It does not. I get mostly vanilla and incense from OB, but I got a great rose with JM.
Ah, it’s usually the case when we try to talk ourselves out of getting more perfume ?
Right!? I guess I will be watching for Christmas deals. I’m sure there will be plenty this year!
I have both and they are pretty different. Both are what I would call pretty ouds, the bouquet being quite candied and the velvet rose unsurprisingly quite rosy.
Yeah, I was actually surprised at how different they are. It’s actually closer to Mad Madame, without the ambroxan.
Will they still make samples of scents?
They told me no.
That’s disappointing.
Yeah, and I don’t really understand why, since there is so much alcohol in perfume.
And silly.
The JM Velvet Rose and Oud would be so gorgeous in a lotion or body creme!
Just so happens, I looked up the body cream. 95 dollars! But the hair mist is 65, I think.
Time to poke around the perfume discounters, then!
Dame Peach Blossom, Violet & Vanilla…really enjoying this one in the summer heat.
I can picture those notes as a Laudurée confection!
You’re right, Isabella! That is something they would do…
Zoologist Hummingbird today. The Rose of Sharon bush by the porch is blooming and it attracts hummingbirds so that’s why I chose it, it’s too hot and sticky to sit outside and see if the perfume would help the attraction 🙂
Ah, good to know…my last remaining rose of sharon might well be blooming. Too gross out right now to go check, but hopefully tomorrow.
I used to have one by my front porch, but it eventually got too huge and my husband removed it.
I put on Je Reviens parfum de toilette this evening, it’s a melancholic perfume I always find. I hope everyone experiencing high heat and humidity will get relief soon.
I am ready for relief!
I think one of the few melancholic perfumes I wear regularly is Apres L’Ondee.
Fingers crossed we get a bit of a break tomorrow, Robin!
I hope it cooled off a bit today, Robin. Oh, yes, Apres l’Ondée is melancholic too.
Chanel No 5 EDP
Love no 5 in edp form.
You smell gooood!
I’m back in Arbolé Arbolé today, since I found its progression from minted pre-dawn breeze to wood-ice creamy (one step up in yumminess from wood pudding) so intriguing yesterday, and since I’ll be back out in the woods this afternoon.
That was a fragrance that should have been perfect for me. Alas, all I got was play-doh. Not sure why, but there it was. : (
I get a little bit of play doh in the beginning too, but the drydown is gorgeous.
Was in a flanker of VCA First early today, but I just replenished with Oeillet Bengale because I’ve been making a spice birthday cake and wanted something spicy.
No dinner out tonight…just too hot and humid…so I will use a grill pan to cook salmon, make fresh corn and have fresh mozzarella with heirloom tomato drizzled with peach-infused white balsamic vinegar.
Minor kerfuffle during cake baking. Power cut for about 30 seconds a little more than halfway through, and I didn’t notice the oven didn’t just go back to temp. And…while it was in the oven, something got caught behind the refrigerator crisper drawer. I had a heck of a time clearing that out….some rather loud exclamations on my part, and my husband wisely stayed silent in the other room. I don’t get angry often, and it’s most often reserved for a struggle with an inanimate object. (Why we still have a somewhat wonky, wobbly ironing board.)
But…cake is cooling on a rack. I decided to split between two 8×8 square pans and will freeze one and frost the other. With candles that spell happy birthday.
spice birthday cake sounds delicious! Happy Birthday to you?
My husband curses at inanimate objects! Like your husband, I have learned not to investigate or offer help 🙂
Glad the cakes are done! Have a great celebration ? ?
Mr. Jalapeno swears at his smart phone on a regular basis. I can only imagine what would happen if that thing actually goes belly up…
What recipe did you use for the spice cakes?
https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/76964/moist-tender-spice-cake/
Although I followed what a commenter said in creaming the butter and sugar together first, adding eggs and vanilla and then the dry/milk alternating…which is a more traditional method. Flavor was very good. I didn’t fully adjust my timing perfectly so it was slightly overdone. I made a vanilla buttercream frosting. So…lots of butter.
Good morning all, I’ve nearly caught up on the last week’s worth of NST, and I am wishing all the best for so many of you and your friends and family. There is a lot of very difficult things happening for so many people right now.
I’m working from home today after 6 weeks back in the office. My only experience of working from home was during lockdown when most other people were too, but with about half our people in the office, being at home will be a different experience. I’ve been trying to avoid it, but do need to do the same thing my team has been doing.
I’ll go back to my practice of three samples a day, and have samples of both Hummingbird and Nightingale from Scentspirit, so will be doubly compliant 🙂
Way to Go Gaynor! I am saving Hummingbird for tomorrow.
You smell terrific and I would love to know what you think of Nightingale. It gets good reports here.
I love Nightingale.
Thanks Stinker_Kit!
A very late reply to say I like Nightingale. I see it (or rather smell it) as a vintage type of floral, which is big plus in my view. I see people describe it as a chypre, and that seems right to me.
Thanks Gaynor, I can’t wait to wear it
I’m wearing it today. I like it but I’m not sure what I actually think about it — that will take longer. I smell the saffron at the start, with a hint of bergamot or other citrus, and I definitely get that chypre base (if you like chypres, it’s great), but I’m not getting floral notes in the middle phase.
What is the schedule? For us, it depends on the state (and possibly work campus). The most ridiculous I heard was 1 week in the office and 9 weeks remote. I thought I misheard but someone confirmed. Really, what is the point of making people go into the office for a week unless they’re hoping that people will just opt to take the in office week as vacation.
We’re largely back to normal life in New Zealand, but with the borders closed. My particular organisation is a bit stuck for space because our building is being used by other parts of government. We’re also experimenting with more flexible working. It’s not a great day for being at home, we’re having hideous problems with email!
Congratulations on the return to normal.
Lucky you! It’s always the simple things that cause big trouble.
Thanks for the reminder — I was wracking my brain to think of a suitable Friday scent, and when you commented, I remembered that I had a sample of Nightingale! So that’s my SOTD for today’s project.
Zoologist Chameleon today.
Trayee, because the little decant was almost empty. I think it might be a tad too hot for this one today. Our apple trees in the backyard are shedding their little apples (poor pruning habits on my end – I had ambitions for an espalier but now it’s just a bit of a mess), so I’m making an apple pie with the dropped fruit.
Bucoliques de Provence as I wanted some more lavender. I love how wearable this is. Soft, gentle, unobtrusive, yet far from dull.
I love this one.
Haircut day today! I left about half my hair on the salon floor. They took my temperature with an IR thermometer when I arrived, and had both appointments and stylists very well spaced out. If you didn’t have a mask, they had paper ones available. I’m glad I took the plunge.
SOTD = still in Rock Crystal EdP, trying to beat the heat & humidity.
Yay! That’s how my haircut went too, I didn’t feel nervous at all. Do you like your new ‘do?
My new ‘do is the same one I’ve had for a few years. It evolves as it grows out, and suits the texture of my hair really well. But if my hair gets too long, it tangles. ☹
Big change! Are you experiencing that weird lightness, where it feels like your head is swiveling around untethered?
Or when you go to wash your hair and for a second think where’s my hair!?
Or realize that you now need only a teaspoon of shampoo?
It was a big change! My layers had grown out. It’s nice to have them back again.
Yay for haircuts! I got mine last week.
It felt really good to see my stylist again and hear that she & her family are doing all right.
Yay! I’m still holding out. I’ve already cut my bangs twice and the 3rd time will likely be within the next week OR I can just schedule a haircut sometime in August. I have a lot of vacation and personal days off left and I have to take 4 weeks (and probably 2 more days, I have to check) between now and end of year and still have 2 weeks to carry over to next year.
If I start looking at the scissors in a certain way, that means I’d better make a hair appointment PRONTO! Hopefully, I won’t have to wait another 3.5 months for my next cut.
I’ve given myself 4 haircuts since January. I don’t flatter myself that it looks much like a haircut anymore but that’s okay!
I tried trimming my bangs once when I was in junior high. The results were so bad that I haven’t bothered cutting my hair since.
Fair enough! I always have my hair short and my motto “it grows back” definitely works faster at this length to salvage something resembling a style. It’s definitely NOT a style right now mind you, but hey – it’s 2020! Small potatoes ?
Today I’m in PotL Luctor et Emergo from Springpansy’s split. I enjoyed it all day at work. I just did a refresh for the short walk to our favorite restaurant. Super hot here; I love to put the pedal to the metal when wearing a new perfume. 🙂
Wore Jardin de Monsieur Li to work, to my surprise it last almost all day. I tried Zoologist Beaver when I came home. I was expecting something heavier, but it’s light and friendly. I don’t think I would call it beaver. Maybe like cottontail.
January Scent Project Selperniku Extrait today. Made pizza today as well as potato pancakes with leftover sourdough starter. Slowly digging myself out of last week’s funk with the help of slightly obscene amounts of chocolate. No regrets!
A chocolate stash is a wonderful thing to have right now! ?
Obscene amounts of chocolate sound about right! I am pacing myself by sticking with 70% cacao bars. I can limit myself to a. few squares at a time because they’re very strong (and I love really dark chocolate). I find myself binging on toast and butter a lot — pure comfort food!
On Thursday, I wore Nicolai’s Number One Intense from a sample. Very nice! A little too much tuberose for me, that’s not a note I favor except in small doses, but Number One Intense is a lovely scent.
And for today, I’m in Zoologist’s Nightingale, from a small sample, thanks to being reminded of it by a comment above! Count me fully compliant!
