Aha, it's Wear Your Pajamas to Work Day. Also, World Voice Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
Reminder: on 4/17, we're doing edition 5 of the Picture Challenge. Wear a perfume that matches the picture, which is Three Dancers, Mills College, 1930, by photographer Imogen Cunningham. More reading here, or listen to a brief interview on Cunningham here.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2020, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Paris Deauville Shampoo and body wash
An early birthday present from one of my APJ family.
And it sorta ties in to the CP because I used to wear loads of Chanel in my ballet classes in the70s and 80s. I was once berated by an older dancer in her mid 20s because I was wearing no 5 when I was 15. She said the scent was ” too mature” for me. I think not! I told her that I had been wearing it since I was three!! I used to spray myself with my mom’s perfumes that she left in the bathroom LOL ?
sounds lovely! does the scent stay with you?
Yes it kinda does….much more so in my hair because I didn’t use conditioner.
And later 30 sprays of vintage Bal a Versailles.
Wowza!!
???
You did 30 sprays? I usually do 1 or 2.
Oh
Yes
I
Did
30 sprays of BaV?
😯
You are one crazy/brave/awesome/spectacular person for 30 sprays of anything!!
Love it.✌??
LOL ? knew you’d love this
I am home, after all, with scent devouring skin ?
Then it should have been 40 sprays, hahahaha!!
30 sprays are for when you go searching for toiletpaper!!Hehe!
??
???
I will remember that ?
Double digit sprays…2 and 1/2 dozen!!! 🙂
Why not, right? Thus far no one is complaining ?
Well, if there’s any covid swirling about it a one mile radius, I’m pretty sure you killed it! Lol?
LOL!
???
Haha!
30 sprays?!
You’re an inspiration.
Yup! Living wild these days
30 sprays? YES! I heartily support drenching yourself in scent during these corona times
???
I’m bowing as tribute to this awesomeness.
♥️?♥️
You are my pandemic hero.
LOL ?
My husband would KILL me, he isn’t the fondest of perfume and I know he doesn’t complain about it only because it’s something that brings me joy. But in my dreams I can carpet bomb myself with 20-30 sprays just once to see how it feels (GLORIOUS who are we kidding)… Maybe someday when I can travel for work again!
A veritable force field. 🙂
I am inspired! As an under-sprayer, I am excited to try maybe 10 tomorrow?
Robin has inspired me to continue wearing Hermes fragrances. Today I am in Hermes Paprika Brasil. My favorite from the Hermessence line along with Brin de Reglise.
I am waiting now outside of the vets office for my doggy to come out. No people are allowed inside. I am very thankful that they are open and taking care of our little companions. He hasn’t been doing well for the last couple of days. Hope his health condition is not getting worse.
Beautiful, bright, sunny day. Perfect to spend the whole day outside, under different circumstances. Instead, I am going back home to continue working and have my delayed cup of coffee and some caramel/coconut Oreos.
Happy and healthy Thursday, everyone!
Love that Hermes… it’s my favorite! Happy you love it too, my friend ♥️
I envy you for the glorious weather. I am dealing with snow now ??
Also, jealous of your Oreos. I need to move back to the city to get all of the exotic Peeps and Oreo flavors because they sure don’t sell them in my neck of the woods ?.
Kisses to Yei and hope all goes well with the vet visit.
Snow???? ???. It is a glorious day here. I took a walk with Yei after the appointment and it was awesome! Perfect spring day!.
I will keep you in mind next time I buy exotic Peeps and Oreos! ?
Squeee!!! Yes!! Please do!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
And glad to hear that all went well with Yei.
Sending luck and love to your doggo for the bloodwork to come up with good answers and/or clear ideas of how to help.
Hope your dog is better soon!
Thank you! Waiting until tomorrow to get the results of blood tests.
Biggest kisses to your dog.
Thank you, Sistine ?
I have not seen caramel coconut oreos in our valley, are they good?
Happy Thursday!
Hope your animal-child is OK!
XO?
Thank you, Johanob! ?.
The caramel/coconut Oreos are ok. I was probably having bigger expectations. Give them a try if you see them. You may like them more than me.
I shall report on the Oreo experiment should I stumble upon them!✌??
Please, do! ?
Best wishes for your little pupster ?
Thank you, Deva! ?
I hope your dog is okay pl67! So glad they could get him in.
Thank you, madtowngirl! ?I was so surprised when I called early this morning and they were able to see him right away. So thankful!
Best of health wishes for your dog!
Those Oreos sound addicting!
Thank you, Lillyjo!?.
The Oreos are just ok. I thought the cream was going to taste more like caramel, but is not even close. It nice though!
Caramel coconut oreos sound divine.
They are quite tasty!
Best wishes for your doggie ?!
And Paprika Brazil is ???.
In the Oreos, the strangest one I’ve seen and will never buy is Carrot Cake. And there’s a Limited Edition Mystery – I won’t buy this one either. ?
My niece & nephew bought some mystery oreos and they were vile. Kids ate ’em; my sister and I found them inedible.
What flavor is the Mystery Oreos?
No idea. This was around christmastime – presumably there’s more than 1 mystery flavor?
Oh, wait – I think we decided they might have been gingerbread, so some kind of seasonal thing.
Oh boy! So many flavors! Overwhelming!
Yep, and you don’t get any notes to help you decide!
The mystery one makes me think of those Bertie Bott (?) jelly beans in Harry Potter that are all mystery-flavored. I still laugh when Dumbledore tries one for the first time in years and sighs, “alas, earwax.”
I agree with your comparison!
Thank you, Hajusuuri!
I saw the Carrot Cake flavor, but didn’t get it either. There were too many sweet goodies in my shopping cart already! Awful! ?. So curious about the Limited Edition. I haven’t seen it yet.
It may not be worth it per kpaint.
I’ve tried the Carrot Cake flavored Oreos. The cookies themselves were pretty good, and a respectable version of a carrot cake, but the cream cheese filling in between them is WAY too sweet for me. My favorite Oreos right now are still the Dark Chocolate ones.
I also like the dark chocolate ones. Like you I find the rest of the fillings pretty sweet.
Sounds like the product of a malfunctioning production line… “What happened?… “Dunno, but there’s 800,000 of them. The art department’s pulling an allnighter on a new package design. We’re calling them ‘Mystery’… a limited edition, unless they catch on… ?
And not surprisingly, the package is white.
I hope your pupper gets better! And that it’s not super expensive.
I think I’m gonna just stick to Oreo-flavored Oreos. I saw watermelon flavored ones last summer, that sounds just vile.
Thank you AD! Unfortunately, the sicker he gets the more expensive those bills are. It wasn’t so bad today, since he just had blood and urine tests. Hope that the results are not worse than last time.
I agree with you to stick with the regular Oreos flavor. So far, none of the others I have tried have won my heart yet. And I particularly like the thin ones instead of the regular.
House twins with Hermes. I pulled out Hiris this morning.
I hope your puppy is ok!?
The most exotic Oreo here is Thin Lemon! Carmel anything sounds great!
Thank you, Gail! I hope he is not getting worse.
I saw my bottle of Hiris this morning and I may spray on some tonight. I have not worn it for a long time.
I have not tried Thin Lemon Oreos. Are they good?
Yes, they are yummy, a bit crisper, if you will, than regular Oreos! A good lemon flavor and you can eat more of them because they are thin!?
Oh! That’s good to know. I am in trouble now! ?
Hope your pup gets better <3 you smell lovely.
Thank you, Koyel!
Best wishes for your pup! So hard not to be in the office with them. I have to bring my kitty in on Saturday where it’s the same drop off deal.
Those Oreos sound good. I haven’t had any of the fancy Oreos. They sound like Girlscout Samoas
Thank you, ElisaP. I hope you kitty appointment goes well!
The caramel/coconut Oreos are very far from Girl Scouts Samoas, which I love! Craving for some now!
Awww, that’s too bad. Now I want some, too!! ?
Sending healing vibes for your beloved doggy.
Thank you, Cazaubon!
I hope that you get some good news about Yei. ?
Thank you, Jalapeno! I hope so too!
Good luck with your dog!
Thank you Smokey Toes! ?
I’m wearing Oeillet Sauvage, in honor of mistaking yesterday’s picture as a carnation instead of a tulip.
Y’know, after reading your comment yesterday, I looked again and thought it was a carnation too ?♀️
You smell great, i love carnation perfumes too.
Twins!
It is among my unsniffed samples. I will probably have a carnation week-end testing Oeillet Sauvage and Dianthus.
You know, I only have two carnation scents, Oeillet Sauvage, and current version Bellodgia. I should really get some samples of other carnation scents, since I really do love the smell of carnation.
Comme des Garcons Series 2 Red: Carnation is pretty nice. Actually I just spritzed some on, because I can smell any of my perfumes any time I want.
Orangers en Fleurs Houbigant
Tea Matcha latte (with soy milk)
Wearing a bright yellow sweater with blue pants that have a bit of a flare at the bottom.
*This next part may not be for everyone so please skip if you are not in the mood for bad news *
Early this morning my kids where telling us that there were lots of boats and fire engines on the river? Usually they make up stories. We looked and saw that there were police boats and lots of first responders. My neighbor texted me that they were pulling a corpse out of the east river. On that note I hid their binoculars. I lite an incense for whomever that was. Not the way I like to start my morning…
Sorry your morning started that way. But at least you smell amazing!
Thanks!
And I am sampling some Chanel foundation I got in a little sample package. Makeup and yellow clothes to make up for my morning…
Oh no, sorry about your day!
I happen to love yellow clothes. My hubby always laughs when I bring home ‘another yellow shirt’.
How do you like the Chanel foundation? May I ask which foundation it is?
VITALUMIÈRE AQUA ?
Thank goodness your neighbor gave you a warning! I’m so sorry your day began that way. I hope the rest of your day is peaceful.
Oh no…I had a similar experience recently(January) on the estate, after heavy rains a guy tried to cross a flooded bridge at midnight on the outside of our estate. He was found inside the estate(the Hennops river runs right through our estate, its gorgeous) 2 days later….
Hope your day gets much much better!
XO
A big hug to you on that tough start to the day.
Love the outfit and you smell great, too.
Sorry about more bad news. It’s especially hard when it feels like that’s mostly all we hear.
I need more yellow in my wardrobe
Yellow is a hard color to bring off for many people. So, congratulations on that! I can wear a butter (light) yellow but nothing brighter.
Mine is like butter
I’m so sorry, that’s a difficult way to start the day.
So sorry your day started out this way. Here’s hoping it got better!
Yikes. Didn’t I read about a body just a few days ago also?
Geez…really?
Your outfit and scent sound amazing! Sorry about the unnerving start to your AM!
That’s sad news. Did not read about it yet.
So sorry to hear about that grim start to your day. I worry about those with fragile mental health during this epidemic and lockdown.
Robin, you are very loyal to Hermes. 🙂
I am in fresh and energizing Mandragore Pourpre.
she is making me want to dig out my Hermes samples
Glannys, you smell terrific !
And because I like them, and therefore have so many of them, and because they make those nice rectangular 15 ml bottles that fit so nicely in a shallow drawer — they are also the easiest to access of all my collection. So spending a couple weeks wearing nothing else is also a very low stress way to start the morning 🙂
It’s funny, I like my Serge narrow bottles for a similar reason. I have one sort of Chinese cabinet with a big central space in it and I can fit my whole collection (which is considerable) in there by just lining them up side by side. I also have Agonist bottles there, which are again rectangular, tall, and narrow.
The worst ones for storage are the really unusually shaped things, like a few of the Angel variants, some of the ones meant to lie down, some with sharp edges (Ange ou Demon), etc. What a pain!
Yes, Angel bottles are a PITA to store. As are overly tall bottles like Kenzo Flower (I store mine standing up in a drawer, so height matters 😉 )
Robin, I have an acrylic lipstick display case that I generally use for decants. The square holes are the PERFECT size and shape for those 15mL Hermes bottles, so all of mine are now proudly displayed there. And, uh, good heavens I’ve got a lot of those.
I’m like a broken record, but if everybody would do 15 ml sprays, Hermes might not be so far and away my largest collection!
Oooh good idea! The original on one arm and Pourpre on the other! Done!
I have, as usual, a ton of things to do before I head to mom’s house and I’ve frittered away my morning on the internet. I do this pretty much every day. After I get my lazy self out of the shower I will be wearing Stash lotion topped with Stash and possibly Stash hair mist. It’s beautiful here but cold and we’re supposed to get several inches of snow again tonight ?
Yep. I fritter the same way.?
It looks like my grandmother is going into hospice. She has been fighting ovarian cancer for the past 8 years. Wearing De Profundis right now.
My thoughts are with you and your family Dawn. I hope you’ve found a source of comfort that will keep you going.
Dawn, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
So sorry to hear this, Dawn…sending a great big hug to you.
Sorry to hear about your Gran,Dawn!
Stay strong!XO
So sorry to hear this.
So sorry to hear your news. Hoping she can remain comfortable and pain free.
I am so sorry..
I will light an incense for her.
I’m so very sorry Dawn. I went through this with my own beloved granny last fall. My heart goes out to you.
Hugs for you, Dawn. Please take care of yourself, too.
I’m very sorry, Dawn.
Very sorry to hear that, Dawn.
So sorry for you and your family
I am so sorry Dawn. Keeping you and your grandmom in my thoughts and prayers.
I’m thinking of you and your family.
I’m so sorry Dawn
So sorry, Dawn. I assume it’s home hospice? Please take all the TLC being offered by the hospice, not just for Gran but also for the rest of the family.
Prayers for you, your family and your sweet grandmother.
So sorry Dawn.
Thinking of you both, Dawn.
I am so very sorry. Are you able to visit, or is it not allowed or too far away?
I’m sorry Dawn. Sending you hugs ❤️
Hope your grandmother’s transition to hospice is easy and comfortable for her and that you and your family hold up okay.
I’m sorry to hear about your grandmother.
Hugs to you Dawn. 8 years is a long battle. I hope she remains comfortable.
Sending warm hugs and thoughts to you and your family.
So sorry to hear about your grandmother Dawn. Hugs.
I’m wearing Boyfriend today. I never tries the original so I don’t know if the reissue is true to it, but I really like it.
I wanted something comforting to wear to Trader Joe’s. I was prepared for a long wait, but it was empty except for three other shoppers and all of the fabulous staff. I am so grateful! And now I finally have some cookies in the house (my husband did the last shopping run and didn’t bring home any sweets).
I had some of old BF which I think I used up.
Yay for your positive TJ’s experience! My neighbor was raving about her last trip there as well. Not bringing home cookies in a time like this is simply cruel. 😉 Good work!
Lucky you for no wait! I tried my TJ’s last week because their chai tea is my absolute fav. Saw the line and nope, came right back home.?
Nice! All the nightmare photos I’ve seen of TJs had convinced me to not even think about trying.
I still really like my (original) Boyfriend Dry Oil. It’s a great no-brainer fragrance.
Yay for a successful TJ trip!
Thank you for the TJ’s report. On my to do list today is “TJ’s shopping list by aisle”. I’m going to imagine myself walking through the store, aisle by aisle, and write my list that way so I can (hopefully!) get the shopping done quickly and completely. I forgot cookies last time. 😉
They reorganized my store to make the aisles wider and easier to social distance – it was really clever! Thank goodness everything was pretty much in the same place.
that’s good news, I love TJ’s but do worry about proximity to other people. TJ’s stores are always much smaller than the typical grocery store, which I love in normal times, so much easier to get the shopping done quickly. 😀
Wearing Box of Eels for a day of adulting. *sigh*
But at least you smell good!!!
Nice…!
Yes, at least you smell good! Stay safe out there!?
box of eels always makes me smile. 😀 you smell fantastic.
OJ Frangipani today! Lime and flowers, and I’m really enjoying it.
Tea: Harney White Vanilla Grapefruit. Delicate and lovely.
Today’s To-dos: A few groceries, and it’s high time I got busy with some stitching. Also, I signed up for an online course right before life went haywire, and I haven’t really wanted to focus on it. Must remedy.
Ah, you smell fantastic!
Givenchy Ysatis sprayed excessively for me today!
I smell glorious and almost ready to rock an 80’s outfit!Lol!
Pajama at work day is awesome! The admin part of my career I can do from home,on my bed, with a laptop from work,so yay for that!Zoom is also coming in handy for remote meetings and such.
I must say, despite everything:life is still good. There are many people who are really suffering, and are scared.I am thankful for what I have.
Happy Thursday friends!XO
??
I think you should rock an 80’s outfit. I am practically wearing bell bottoms today..
Haha!I love your fashion reports!
I’m actually in swimming trunks with a granadilla icicle pattern, and a black t-shirt with a sequined skull on the front.Totally inappropriate.Lol
Inappropriate is the BEST! ?
Oh Deva,I think you and I might just get along mighty fine “in real life”!!haha!
I think you should keep the skull ? T-shirt on and put on some “guy liner”
Hahahahaha!!You know what…I actually had guy liner once…Jean Paul Gaultier had a makeup line for guys around the early 2000’s…When I worked in Manchester I bought IT ALL,including the liners! So fun.I still have the bronzer, because the packaging is gorgeous.
Since I am amongst friends here, in my next life I want a one night rendezvous with someone who has long hair and wears guy liner. That is my one unfulfilled fantasy I will save for my future self
I love your future life fantasy…we all should have one I think.
I’ll stick with a next life version of Simon Baker, thanks.??
Hmm.Simon Baker …ok I know your type.
oh..and leather pants. Guy liner, long hair and leather pants. Just for one night.
maybe someone who looks like this but more guy liner. He has not enough for me. Sorry, this is my escapism for the moment. Sorry but not sorry.
https://images.app.goo.gl/nxRmi9ZdKmA64UNY9
As a child of the 70s and 80s, I have a soft spot in my heart for lots of eyeliner on everyone, and a bit of “guy-liner” has always made me melt.
lets time travel back missionista…?
Well damn that man is pretty fine!!haha!??✌?
Ha! Johanob approved!
Thanks for escaping with me today..my future self will be very satisfied indeed.
My hubs wore eyeliner in the 80s. But more in the glam scene than the goth scene.
I will take both ways ?Glam or goth
I think bell bottoms are coming back!
They came back a few years ago. I had a couple pairs I’d forgotten about that I’d bought back then and started wearing again last fall. I’m all for flares and bell bottoms!
Indeed, you do smell glorious!
Thank you friend!???
You smell great! Tomorrow I expect 30 sprays ?????
Hahaha!!I need to choose very carefully then,it might get nuclear over here!30 sprays of Portrait of a Lady?????
Oh
My
God
Yes!!!!!
Do it!!!! ?????
I will do 30 sprays of Shalimar, when the kids and my husband are out of the apartment for a bit
???
It helps if you do it sessions. 10 sprays X3 sessions. ?
Then I’ll do 30 PoaL sprays,just because I can(and CM8 enabled it)??
We will be reeking all around the world LOL ?
BTW you have excellent taste in fantasy leatherized bad boys. ?
????
Thank you Thank you
Ysatis! My sister’s signature scent. It smells great on her, but it never worked for me.
You smell wonderful!
Thank you dear friend!
I have not worn it in years, but only have a vintage 30ml that should last me a lifetime.??
Do you dress up for the Zoom meetings? We’re not supposed to wear what we wouldn’t wear to the office although I am sure the suit or shirt and tie wearing is optional. No one need ever know about the bottoms though unless you accidentally drop you laptop and the camera zooms in on the wrong body part. ??
Haha!No we wear whatever, luckily. The hospital environment is not that formal where I work, real life meetings also happen mostly in scrubs, which is technically pajamas sooooo….Lol.
Ha! Right, and just as comfy.?
Trudat!
We’re house twins.
Oh yay!?
You smell fab. I also feel very fortunate during this difficult time for so many.
Kiehl’s original musk for my last day at home this week, back to work tomorrow.? At least the sun is out again.
Good news! The stimulus went into my money market account yesterday, I didn’t see it because I didn’t even think to look there. The government was so smart to send it there because I will be less likely to touch it. (I’m sure you were all wondering, lol)
It’s back to the Hospital for “real” work for me too, next week Wednesday. We got the green light to carefully start with elective surgeries again, maximum 8 per day.We are a very small unit anyway,so 8 is good, and keeps the social distancing etc etc still intact in the ward.
P.S I LOVE THAT MUSK!!!soo good!You smell awesome.
??✌?
Thanks! I like this one too.
Elective procedures starting must be a good sign, they are all still on hold here.
Mine arrived yesterday, too. What with all the confusion I had serious doubts that the $ would ever go out.
Me too plus they sent it to a checking account I had to close because my paypal was hacked. My bank must have rerouted it to the mm.
Solstice Scents Chiffon today…notes are Vanilla, White Amber, White Musk & Lemon Myrtle EO.
Was googling the Three Dancers photo and there is this comment on the photo from a reddit thread which is quite interesting…
“That’s a concrete stage they’re jumping on. Those old school modern ladies were hardcore! There are some great videos of Bonnie Bird demonstrating Graham technique on that Greek Theater stage at Mills. All the knee work on the concrete is pretty intense. This photo is from a pretty special occasion – The Bennington Dance Summer Festival was usually out on the East Coast, but in 1939 they brought it to Mills College, which is where Cunningham met Graham.”
Thanks, I love the background stories.
Dancing on concrete is probably the very worst thing you can do! I was required to take modern dance classes when I attended the High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan. My teacher studied with Martha Graham and was also a member of her company before retiring and seguing into teaching. She really turned me on to modern dance as an art form . A part of me wishes that I had pursued that instead of professional ballet.
You know I am old because the first thing I thought of when I saw that photo was that nothing would make me jump on that surface 🙂
I spent the last two years performing on a majority concrete surface. It was HIDEOUS and my knees and hips still do not forgive me after 9 month’s recovery time since that show closed! Never again!
Not old, just sensible. I broke one of my ankles as a kid by landing on a concrete surface the wrong way. It sucked, having a walking cast on during that long ago summer.
Mon Guerlain Body Lotion. Love it. Trying hard to keep to my new plan of not letting others’ frenzy dictate my life (work emails – argh).
And today I’m making these:
https://smittenkitchen.com/2017/12/salted-butter-chocolate-chunk-shortbread/
They are our favorite cookies!
I have some of her other cookie recipes lined up to make next week ?
And her Thick, Chewy Oatmeal Cookie dough currently in my fridge, and Ultimate Banana Bread on my counter.
I’d kind of forgotten about that site, as I subscribe to NYT Cooking and haven’t really looked elsewhere for inspiration or recipes since using NYT as my primary source. Lots of good stuff although I’m perplexed as to why she doesn’t seem to put nuts in baked goods, which from my perspective is essential (and I usually double whatever the recipe calls for.)
I use both NYT and SK a whole bunch, plus some Food52. (And I’m also a fan of nuts).
BTW, SK’s chicken salad is wonderful and has toasted walnuts. The whole fam likes it so we’ve been eating a lot of it. I confess to generally using a rotisserie chicken to keep life easier:
https://smittenkitchen.com/2008/10/cranberry-walnut-chicken-salad/
oh my, those cookies. that site is new to me, going to book mark it.
I like your plan! good for all times!
😀 It’s a great site.
I just spent WAY too long over at SK printing recipes. Thank you 🙂
Enjoy!
Ohhhh noooo I think I am going to have to make those.
Yes, you are. They’re amazing. I just ate one. 😀
Wearing YSL Majestic Rose.
Hope it is indeed majestic!
Well that is debatable lol. It’s nice enough though. Victoria at BdJ liked it. The names for this series are similar:Splendid Wood, Supreme Bouquet, Exquisite Musk etc.
🙂
Woke up (and fell asleep) to snow. *blargle blargle grump grump* Will I ever be able to pack up my winter boots for the season? ???What does one wear for snow in mid-April? For me, a bleary-eyed reach for Angel EdT.
Snow in April is just wrong and unfair and I hate it
Srsly, April can suck it.
? Oh kpaint, you made me laugh out loud. That’s exactly how I feel about October, when it’s still 92 degrees outside.
We’re getting sun-showers of rain where I’m at and I am not amused! Hoping for real spring soon.
Omg and by rain I meant “snow”.
Pretending they’re sun showers sounds much more fun ?
Alternating sun and snow flurries here!
Le Troisieme Homme, just because. 🙂
Good enough reason! You smell great.
Oh I wore that last weekend and it’s quite stylish; refreshing to not be the usual citrus/woods crap they sell to men.
I do wonder how many of my colleagues work in their PJs. I cannot. I like to get dressed first thing in the morning for the day and put on a little mascara and lip gloss. Yep, I’m still putting on makeup even though WFH.
SOTD: Black Cashmere
I have to due the full routine (sans makeup – but full skincare routine, teeth brushed, hairs tamed, dressed) before I even like to make “official” phone calls. But to each her or his own. My guess is that most people WFH in pjs. A lot of people do their shopping and air travel in pajamas, so…
Due? DO.
I wear pj pants but a “real” shirt. Yes, I’m one of those people. ?
I’m pretty much in workout clothes – I don’t have the heart for much makeup, but I try to look presentable. The workout clothes are so that I *will* work out at some point during the day.
Good thought! I’ve been walking every day but in my jeans as I don’t have the energy to change my clothes. Once it gets much warmer I’ll have to figure this out.
I am right there with you.
I dress up everyday, its my ritual. I wouldn’t stop
maybe I shared this already
https://www.vogue.com/article/lynn-yaeger-personal-style-essay
What a lovely article. I’m also in the love to dress up camp and have been doing it every day even with no place to go
I do the full morning routine, but I’m wearing jeans and t-shirts instead of chinos and cardigans. I started putting on makeup again last week and was shocked how much more alive and alert it made me feel. Like I was ready for a full day that could include anything, not just being cocooned in the house.
I’ve been enjoying wearing eye makeup (nothing on the lips because masks) recently, but also enjoying rocking the jammies all day long.
I definitely dress for work, not all the make-up, but always lipstick. And heels, shoes that are bit high for walking around the office are just fine in the lounge!
Wow, make-up! I had to perform in a Zoom concert last night, and felt so aggrieved and huffy about having to put on a dress and swipe a bit of eyeliner and lipstick on. Just the effort of finding a real bra was so intense. I admire you!
I finished off a sample of vintage Tabac Blond that I’m pretty sure is extrait. It’s. So. Good. I was thinking of perfumes that were out at the time of the CP photograph and then I remembered this little sample that needed finishing.
Feeling in a better mental place today and not so tired like yesterday morning. I’ve already been very productive my first hour working and think I can stay focused today.
glad you are feeling good..that is half the battle these days
I was so tired yesterday but today is better. We can do this! 😀
Glad to hear that both therabbitsflower and tiffanie are feeling better today!
What an apropos day for Wear Your Pajamas to Work Day 🙂 I’m wearing leggings, though. Today’s tulip is lovely, but I particularly liked yesterday’s silly, froofy tulip.
Can you believe it’s Thursday again? On this bewildering Thursday, I am wearing Mitzah for some peace and clarity. This morning I did day 29 of the Yoga with Adriene 30-day yoga journey. I’m pretty proud of myself for sticking with it.
I’m not sure if this is the right time to announce a split, but I did get a bottle of Hiram Green Hyde a few days ago. Part of it is already promised in a split, but I do have another 10mL split available. The bottle was $171 for a 50mL bottle, so with shipping + the price of a nice atomizer, a 10mL split would be $39. Obviously, with the Coronavirus crisis ongoing, it would take me a little longer than usual to get the decant to you. But do let me know if you are interested. Hyde is pretty spectacular and rich and smoky: not ideal for the coming summer, but it is definitely fantastic for sheltering in place.
Wow! Good for you on keeping up with the yoga! Adrienne is great. Mr Marzipan is a huge fan of her videos.
Isn’t she lovely? But also so weird and quirky 🙂
I think that’s why I like her LOL ?
Keep at it, Koyel! Proud of you!! ♥️♥️
Thank you, cm8!
I’d love the 10 ml if it is still available. I’ll send an email.
Got it, thanks! Will reply shortly 🙂
I absolutely want in on this! I have a little sample and it’s swoon-worthy. I’ve been lemming it for awhile now! Please reserve it for me. And I’m in no hurry whatsoever. If I click will I find your e-mail?
Hey Calypso, it looks like Catanosmia called dibs on it before you (above). But I will keep you in mind if one of my two splits falls through. Let me send you an email shortly!
Adrienne is wonderful. I’ve done her January challenge from the beginning. I often don’t finish it until February because life. This year I had some minor surgery and did her Day 8 Heal for a full week until I could move on and finish.
*Adriene
Oof. I am so glad the Heal video helped!
Once I finish the 30-day challenge, I hope I’ll still keep doing some of her videos occasionally 🙂
Bravo on the yoga! I’m not 100%, have missed a couple of days, but still continuing strong.
Good for you! How many more days do you have left? What will you do when you reach the end, start another 30-day challenge?
My intention is to continue until the end of the lockdown, or until the weather gets nice enough to intersperse some bike rides with the yoga. I like to do some of each for health/exercise reasons. I am planning to start a daily meditation practice as well.
Last night’s bedtime scent, still going: Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee. That was the first time I’d sprayed rather than dabbed it, and I could smell a lot more of the incense part of it. That was all right, though. The fragrance still fell on the soothing side for me.
It’s gotten *cold* again in Pennsylvania. I went around picking flowers the other day (yesterday? the day before? Blursday?) when I heard there was a danger of a freeze overnight. I’m enjoying the lilac especially. It had just a couple of flowers open when I brought the spray in, and a few more flowers have opened.
Among other things, I brought in a tulip that has petals that are peach-colored on the outside and orange on the inside. I think it’s ‘Generaal de Wet.” I’ll have to look up who that was, or at least how to pronounce the name! The tulip has a nice fragrance. Tulips as a group aren’t usually fragrant, but there are a few that are.
That’s a beautiful tulip!
Yes, I think so. 🙂 Now that that particular flower I cut is fully blown, heading for overblown, it has bright orange petals with yellow coloring at the base of the petals. It’s still fragrant. 🙂 There are more coming up outside.
Love VI. It reminds me of both madtowngirl and my middle Marzipan.
We also got cold and snow this morning. Yuck!
??
yes it is cold, I’m so over it! if the weather app can be trusted, we’ll have a couple of warmer wet days, followed by some decent temped sun days. can’t wait.
Same here, goddess willing. Over the hump Saturday. PLEASE
Snow flurries in southeastern Pennsylvania in mid-April were strange. We got hardly any snow during the actual winter months. I’d also be happy with some warmer sunny days. 🙂
You smell lovely! My Vanille Insensée is getting quite low so I save it for the days when I need some major calm.
Thank you! 🙂 I liked the sample of it that was in that Advent Calendar I got a couple of years ago, so I got a travel spray last year. Definitely worth it, in my opinion. 🙂
Ah, lilac! Northern CA is a flower paradise, but lilacs are very few and far between around here 🙁 Someday I will find a nice lilac bush or tree and plant it in my yard.
I think the majority of lilacs are well adapted to cold climates much farther North. Most are hardy to USDA climate zone 3, if I remember correctly. They may freeze to the ground in that climate zone, but they send out new shoots in the spring.
You could certainly look for a type that does well in warmer weather. 🙂
Have a good night!
Love VI, you smell great!
Thank you! 🙂
It’s supposed to be another cold night in our area. I’m actually under a Freeze Warning tonight. ?
Yes, we are too. All my tender plants are still inside. The plants that are outside now are very hardy. Even if the leaves and flowers freeze, they’ll come back.
I’ve hit the stay-at-home phase known as so-stir-crazy-that-i’m-online-shopping.
Our state just announced last night that school will not resume until fall for the kids. This has a whole string of impacts, since we are a two-state family. When school temporarily closed, we shifted to staying in the state where I primarily work. Since school is not coming back we will likely not be returning to our home until August. We came to Florida for what was supposed to be a week and will be staying for nearly 6 months straight. I’m overwhelmed. I bought art supplies and activity kits for the kids this morning.
I’ve been wearing Jo Malone White Jasmine & Mint layered with Orange Blossom all week, which is a GREAT combo y’all (fresh, clean, but somewhat odd with a biting green edge). Sadly, I am down to the last drops of WJ&M and don’t want to pay the regular price of $200 for a JM archive collection frag. NOTHING is on ebay these days; a month ago there were lots of partial bottles for sale, and now we really shouldn’t be going to the post office or shipping things that aren’t essential. Luckily, I brought a handful of full bottles and samples on the “one week” trip to Florida which will now last 6 months. I’m wearing Ormonde Jayne Woman which also has a lovely green edge, an oddness, and some florals. It’s very nice.
Hope you are all fairing well and not going stir crazy.
I thought the archive bottles were $140? Same as regular JM?
Wow, that’s a huge change for your family. I hope you can find a quiet moment to process everything.
I love white jasmine and mint. The nice SA at Nordstrom even warned me it was being discontinued and I blithely ignored her and didn’t buy it. Sigh. I really wish they’d release those archive scents in 30 ml bottles.
Agree! I certainly would have bought a 30ml by now! I don’t really need 100mls of anything.
It’s $140 for 100 ml and first time purchasers get ten percent off …..just saying…. ??
Ah! Thank you so much for saying that! I thought it was $140 too but kept seeing $199 on the website. Turns out that it’s sending me to the AU site.
So now I have to think about doing it… even if I wait and get a partial bottle on ebay, it will be at least $50…
I’d noticed that about ebay, too, but today when I was looking for some stuff there seem to be more people putting items up for sale. Maybe your JM will show up at some point? I use the “saved search” feature and almost everything I’ve waited patiently for has shown up at some point at a reasonable price. Not everything, though.
Will also add that I use paypal post and thus can skip a trip to the P.O. But you have to be able to leave parcels out for USPS (and IIRC there are weight/size limitations? but maybe not) which isn’t an option for everyone.
Ooh, OJ Woman is such a wonderful scent. You smell great. My kids are out until fall as well but our situation is not anywhere near as complicated as yours. I just dragged my 14 year old out for a walk this morning and I’m trying to convince my 12 year old to come out for a bike ride. They have gotten to the turtle-in-the-shell phase of this I guess…it’s really tough to keep them engaged.
I made my 10 year old go one a bike ride with me today. It’s hard to convince her to leave the warmth and computer…
Wow, 10 already!!!
I have the same exact problem with my 11 year old – but I really try to force him because he always feels so much better after
That’s some big news to swallow. I am praying the restrictions are lifted by October so we can return to California for the winter. I do not relish the thought of a full Canadian winter, but I am preparing myself psychologically just in case.
Oye right? Sounds like you are a two country lifestyle, which I imagine is even more stressful because of border and self quarantine orders when you cross countries!
Dior Granville for this really sunny and warm day. My covid test came back negative, so I can get back from the sofa to our seeping room and cuddle again.
Hooray!!!! I’m so happy to hear your good news. Enjoy the cuddles and normal life.
Great news!!
Wonderful news!
Great news!
Congrats!
Woohoo!
I feel like it’s been FOREVER since I heard any kind of good news! That is wonderful and you must feel incredibly relieved!! Yay!
Hooray!
So glad for you.
Yay! Max yourself out on cuddles!
That’s such great news!
Great news!
Yayyyyy for negative test results! Hope you’re enjoying the cuddles.
Wonderful news! Now you can relax a bit!
YES! That’s great!
Aww, good news! Though I came back negative we still sleep separately because we’re both high risk. There are some benefits (he takes up too much space ?), but miss that.
So glad to hear that!
Yay for negative test & cuddles!
that’s fantastic – you must be so relieved!
Excellent news!
Wooo hoooo! Great news!
I am wearing Guerlain L’Heure de Nuit, and getting ready to visit my parents today — sitting outside in their backyard, with a good distance between us. The last time I visited, I sat on the backyard glider, and my Mom came and sat next to me. I got up and moved away to give some safe distance. It broke my heart. Sad times. But, they are staying safe at least.
Hugs to you. The distance from loved ones is so hard, especially when it’s a few feet.
Thank you 🙂
It feels so natural to sit next to someone you love. I am so looking forward to when we can all do that again. And hugs, really looking forward to hugging my parents again. And hugging my children.
Today is my first day of furlough! It’s not 100% furlough, so I’m still WFH a couple of hours a day for 3 days/week. It feels really weird though. On the plus side, it means more time on NST!
Still unscented for the day, but that may change soon, as I plan to go out and do isolation exercise.
Hoping this arrangement works for you. I don’t understand the concept of not 100% furlough. To me, that just sounds like making you part-time but letting you keep benefits without having to satisfy a minimum number of work hours per week. Are you eligible for unemployment?
Yes, eligible for unemployment and keeping benefits. All in all, it’s great, and I’m really thankful to my workplace for trying to give us the maximum they possibly can.
That’s a good arrangement but if you’re not getting paid by your employer for the few hours a week, your employer may get the hairy eyeball but it sounds like they got some advice.
I received really bad news of a hiring freeze yesterday that dealt a crushing blow to my hopes of moving to another state with a climate that doesn’t make me feel physically and mentally awful for most of the year.
I know I’m lucky to still have any job at all when so many others don’t. But I still couldn’t help feeling sad. My kids kept on creating sweet little cards telling me not to cry.
I’m feeling better today and determined to find a way to manage my SAD better since it looks like this will be my locale for at least another half decade.
Wearing Oeillet Bengale.
I’m sorry about the dissapointimg job news. Your kids sound really sweet and awesome.
They are, bless them
Sorry to hear that 🙁 Sounds like you have some kind of contractual obligation so another job won’t be an option post-pandemic?
I’m ready to get out of here, too, but have very little control over where we end up next. I did buy a happy lamp to use this winter and it was surprisingly effective. I also spent a week in the Caribbean, which was as effective as it sounds. While the trip was a lot more expensive than the lamp, plane tickets are crazy cheap right now and they’re still offering free changes should things change (or not change, as the case may be.) RT from CLE to San Juan PR $236 for Feb 2021. Just sayin’.
what kind of lamp did you get? I’m not good about using appliances in a regular way, but I do need to treat my SAD, tia!
Just a cheap one on amazon. Looks like yasmina’s the authority here, though. I got mine to help regulate my sleep pattern over the winter, but I did notice an energy boost in the mornings when using it. It is quite unpleasant to use, though (being a person who is very light-sensitive.)
Wow that’s cheap! Thanks for the excellent suggestion. I told my husband we need to start a new savings account called the Happiness Fund where we put all the money we are no longer spending on daycare, etc cuz of Covid. That we will have guilt-free cash to spend on sunny vacations to combat the winter blues.
I often wished I had picked a career that would allow me some autonomy to choose where to live. There are many things I like about my job but I would give it up for location mobility.
The Happiness Fund is a great idea!
I’m excited to put it into action
This sounds like a great solution!
I’m so sorry yasmina!
It’s too cold today.
I suffer from SAD too – please let me know if you find a good way to treat it!
I’m sorry Coin-op that you are a fellow sufferer. It’s hard.
I saw an integrative medicine physician about SAD last year who put me on a supplement and vitamin regimen and light therapy. I felt 60 percent better and didn’t have any bad thoughts, which was a huge relief.
I am hoping to tweak this regimen so I can get to 80 percent better. I have to consult with the doctor about the vitamins/supplements but I already know have to get a much bigger lightbox and angle it differently to make even more progress. I’m going to check if my insurance will pay for it.
I highly highly recommend that fellow SAD sufferers try to find a doctor who can help through all these different modes.
Someone in a support group I attend has her lamp situated so that it shines right over a hammock, and she says it’s warm and bright enough to really feel like she’s lying in the sun.
That’s great that you have a doctor who is helping. Hoping you get to 100%!
I would really benefit from a SAD support group – just talking on this thread has helped! Will try to find one.
I love that mental image of a hammock in the ☀️
I like your incremental approach yasmina…I do take d3, 125mcg daily, I don’t really know if it helps but it seems prudent. I should talk to my dr – good idea. I do get full blood work done annually which comes back normal
Oh, I’m so sorry. I hope the hiring freeze is temporary and you find a path forward into a friendlier climate soon! Nice to hear your kids have got your back…
Thank you – I’m lucky to have them
I’m sorry. Hoping for a lift of the freeze soon. And a good lamp that helps.
Thank you, I appreciate it
Oh that’s such a shame!!!
I don’t know what latitude you’re at or if you’ve gotten bloodwork done, but I finally started following the Canadian guidelines to take vitamin D in the winter (actually just year round for me, as I don’t get outside much to see sunlight).
I figured for years “I’ve been vitamin D deficient all my life, why start taking it now?” but it turns out that little dropper supplement has helped a LOT with some hormone regulation issues and evened out my mood quite a bit through the winter blahs.
The pandemic has nipped that in the bud by creating extra anxiety regardless, but at least my baseline is a bit better!
Yes vitamin D is great! I take it year round and up the dose in the winter. I also got my levels tested and surprisingly I wasn’t deficient. I then got my B levels tested and wasn’t deficient in that either (also of relevance to mood apparently).
Good for you doing all the things already to tackle this as best you can!
I admit that I still don’t love Canadian winter, but Mr. Teebear and I moved back East from the West Coast 5 years ago and I can tolerate sunny -30 days and snow a LOT better than 10+ days of grey in a row and endless rain and humidity like Vancouver got. That one was HARD for me, I would take any contract offer to get away during that season!
I’m like you – it’s the lack of sun that gets me more then the cold. We have both in abundance where I live. I could do cold but consistently sunny.
So sorry, Yasmina. That does sound disappointing. But adding sunny vacations sounds like a good idea.
Thanks Elisa – and planning the vacations will be half the fun
Ugh I’m sorry. I was also in the process of applying for a new job, and all of my favorite prospects also have hiring freezes 🙁 Definitely agree on those sunny vacations.
I’m sorry Koyel – these are such unprecedented times.
I am so sorry. I have SAD too so I can really sympathize.
Thanks Cazaubon – hang in there too. It’s a really common syndrome and I wish there were more resources directed towards it in terms of awareness, research, therapies, etc.
So sorry about the bad news but yeah on getting your SAD addressed. I’ll just use the cliche, although I really mean it, that when a door closes, another one opens.
From your mouth to God’s ear….
Not a SAD sufferer but wanted to encourage you to find a SAD doc and find ways to replenish your fas tank DAILY in the winter. Also, have you tried supplementing with Magnesium (magnesium taurate in particular)? A lot of mood issues have been tied to Mg deficiencies and some people really benefit.
Thanks for this suggestion! I will look into it.
Yesterday was really nice weather so I thinned the raspberry canes. Since the password project is done, I’m looking for the next thing to take up a few days. Paint the baseboards where the vacuum has chipped them? Organize the garage? YouTube how to cut my own hair? Oh, the hair. It’s normally short and layered to keep the natural wave in check. Now it’s shaggy, the ends are turning up in weird ways, and there is a Veronica Lake dip in the front.
I’m sampling Rogue Jasmin Antique today. Wow. I think I need a bottle. There goes more of my stimulus money!
Garage organization has good payoff. It gets my (unsolicited) vote 🙂
My sister is cutting her own hair and so far it does not look like something I want to do! But good luck if you do it.
This made me LOL
My hair is long so cuts aren’t a problem, but I haven’t washed it since I broke my arm — seven weeks ago. Fortunately, I haven’t had to sweat from exercise or hot weather, so it doesn’t smell, but it’s getting oily.
Also, the lower two the series of waves that ladies in antique photos often have. I had assumed came from braids that had been let down or from some other technique. Now I suspect they simply weren’t washing their hair very often in those days.
And good luck with whatever you decide. Anything should be less tedious than passwords!
Vintage Diorissimo today — I’m hoping it encourages the sun to burn through the lingering fog!
very nice !
SOTD is Dilettante, which smells like hot pavement and orange trees to me right now. P.s.: 4 sprays of any Hiram green is probably too much, I gassed myself out.
Laundry machine swap out went well, but now my dog is convinced there is still an intruder so she barks at the bathroom/closet room whenever she’s over there ?
One full spray off of the HG bottles is also too much, IMO…. Those sprayers are powerful!
Hermessence Myrrhe Eglantine
house twins Robin!
I like the musty rose here, I think I oversprayed thinking it was subtle, but it gets stronger as times goes on…
Ah, must keep going until I get to ME.
That’s my second favorite from Hermessence after Osmanthe Yunnan
SotD = Iris Ukiyoe
joining the Hermes love train today. It feels good.
Last night I watched the movie Danny Collins. It was sweet and a fun trip “back” in memory to the years I lived in the northeast US. Al Pacino is a delight to watch. His eyes tell stories all by themselves.
So today I’m on a John Lennon kick, right now listening to Double Fantasy. Watching the Wheels is playing right now.
Thanks to everyone for sharing your ups and downs here. It’s good to know I’m not the only one. Imagine that. 😉
I’m listening to a very old motown playlist today! I’ll have to look up Danny Collins.
Robin, as a Bob Dylan fan you may want to check out ‘Once Were Brothers’ – Robbie Robertson’s documentary about The Band. Lots of great footage of them when they were Bob’s backup band. I really enjoyed the film and learned a lot!
Thank you, added to my watchlist!
hope you will enjoy Danny Collins, it was an easy drama to watch, the story moved along in an entertaining way, with good performances from all the actors.
I fell down a Smoky Robinson motown rabbithole last week, we danced around the living room. 😀 good times!
I have Double Fantasy on vinyl… love that album very much!
nice! So much good music there.
Though it’s easy to find online playlists that mix things up, it’s a fun change of pace to listen to an album start to finish.
Wearing Berdoues Assam of India today.Temperatures are warmer this week so I dug out some fragrances I hadn’t been wearing in the winter.
Assam of India is wonderful! You smell fantastic. 😀
SOTD is Tom Ford Oud Wood, one of my earliest perfumista purchases and still a favorite. The universe must know I like it because I keep getting decants in swaps, lol. It must have a homing instinct.
The other day I got my 15 yr employee award from my company… $300. LAME! $20 a year??? Phoo. Donatella could find that under her couch cushions. I’m spending it all on perfume, even though it won’t go that far. I ordered Le Galion L’Ame Perdue from France… wonder how long it will take to arrive. And I’m currently eyeing EL Bronze Goddess Azur. Hmm.
LOL @ Donatella and fully agree that that is LAME. If they’re gonna do a cash reward (which is weird) it should be enough to not feel like a snub.
Thanks for the Azur reminder. I need to sample that one.
Ha! Glad you’re ising it wisely ?
My 15 year award will be next summer and it will be half that.?
Well mine isn’t really $300, either, I just found out: I have to pay taxes on that. So awesome.
Oh man. They definitely need to think of better rewards
You got $300? All I got was a cheap lucite plaque. Glad to hear you found a nice perfume to buy.
The plaques in my industry are wood, and they come with a free round of applause. 🙂
In vintage l’Interdit today.
??
☺
Wonderful!
You smell great too, the vintage Givenchy smell so good a the new ones so forgettable.
SOTD = Chanel No. 19 EDP
… because SheriG wore it yesterday, said it’s her hubby’s favorite in her collection and I said it’s my favorite in her collection too ?

Thanks to everyone who responded to my late query last night. I am not qualified to anyone with OCD but I think I will put myself in that category when it comes to laundry. So, for what it’s worth, for my clothes, I typically have a light load and a dark load (there are other categories for other things that need to be laundered along with the specific settings I use when washing, but I digress). I choose what color to wear on a given day / week depending on the load that needs more clothes to make a load. I don’t even care if the colors makes sense to wear together because… I am home and won’t seat off anyone’s eyeballs?
The question is, besides the type of clothes you wear, have you also found yourself deciding which color(s) to wear based on how you deal with your laundry?
I have converted to a wardrobe of 95% monochrome white/grey/black for ease of coordinating and laundry.
I’m 100 percent black now. I call it my uniform for work. Like you said, easy coordination and washing.
Yes! There are sweaters in my closet that are wash cold, reshape and dry flat, or dry clean. I hate paying for dry cleaning, so all two of those sweaters rarely get worn.
Don’t get me started on OCD about clothing/cupboard arrangements, and the laundry aspect…
My “system” is also applied to basically everything else;Bed linens, table linen, curtaining, towels…
It’s all about color arrangement basically,so my wardrobe does resemble a very colorful rainbow.Lol.
But it makes sense to me and I like the neat look(P.S,I have clothing hangers in every color as well, lovingly done by my late Grandmother with crochet and knitted covers).Obviously a yellow t-shirt gets a yellow hanger etc etc etc…I drive people who enter my life THAT closely,IN.SANE with it.Lol.
I love all of this so much ?
You are my dream roommate 😀
Haha!Oh yay!Plus we’re both avid perfume collectors…can only be a win-win situation!✌??
oh goodness, glad I’m not the only one. I also match the color of my clothes to the hangers. Mine have knit or crochet covers that I made as a child learning needlework, or were made by my mother and grandmother so long ago. It makes me happy to use them still.
And I organize my clothes by color too, Konmari-style from light to dark. 😀
Yes yes and yes!We basically have the same wardrobe layout then!Lol!
I treasure the hangers that my favorite Grnadmother made.?
That bottle is getting close to a Thunk countdown. Maybe by the end of the year? I’m guessing.
My winter clothes are almost all black, with lights being primarily shades of grey. There’s pretty much zero color so light & black covers it, as far as separating loads.
I realized recently that my winter pajamas are almost all black, too (also with the remainder being shades of grey.) But why a black pajama? I didn’t intentionally make the choice to have black pajamas (in the case of my actually clothing, it’s intentional) yet there they are.
I did go through a phase of wearing cute patterned munki munki pajamas, which were super fun (but ultimately too short) so I’m not sure how I ended up here.
Not so much the laundry, we generate plenty of loads of light/dark, but more of an obsession with the dishwasher. When it starts getting full, I will start selecting which dishes to eat off based on which empty slots I have in the dishwasher. 🙂
Yes! I do the dishwasher thing too!
Me three!
Yes, sometimes I have made a decision on what I wear based on what all is lurking in the laundry basket. Other times, I couldn’t care less.
Towels ALWAYS get washed in extra hot water with Clorox, regardless of color. And sheets/other bedding get washed in my “allergen” cycle.
Hey 19 (à la Steely Dan). That’s the other thing Mr. G says when I wear Chanel 19. On choosing colors to wear, I’m far more likely to select something that complements (or at least doesn’t clash with) my nail polish color of the week. I was a nail-biter until middle school, and getting over that bad habit was hard enough that now I might be a little obsessive about my nails. I do them myself every weekend, and sometimes the color I choose for them restricts the available color palette for clothing.
Showered and lotioned up with my new L’Occitane Green Tea body lotion, followed by the body mist. May stay with the tea theme by adding a different tea scent this evening…either my Demeter one or my Fragonard one.
My husband outdid himself on ordering GS cookies. Good grief. I did go to CVS yesterday to check out the Peeps per PL67’s comments. They had the chocolate pudding but I decided I wasn’t interested. Did get some chocolate eggs, though. And picked up some surgical masks at our little pharmacy up the street…they sell them in packs of three.
My husband announced last night he was okay with leaving NYC. Turns out one of his old-time favorite restaurants, Lucky Strike, is closing for good. I think I first went there almost 30 years ago… it won’t be the last I’m afraid.
How is the L’Occitane? I’ve been eyeing it up!
I like it. But need to wear it a couple of times.
Leaving NYC for good?
I could never ..
Plus if I leave now you have to quarantine yourself for 2 weeks
He says this every time one his favorite places closes…. you know NYers,,,they hate change.
Oof, stay out of Seattle, then. It’s a city that becomes unrecognizable every 10 years. That seems to be the timetable for completely razing, then rebuilding, every neighborhood.
Darn, I have warm memories of Seattle-of-ten-years-ago…
I’m feeling like the excitement of living in the big city has really worn off with this pandemic. Seriously thinking of moving out to a more rural area.
Going to work dressed up this morning for Formal Friday, and I’ll accompany that with Dusita’s Le Sillage Blanc.
I have not even heard of Formal Friday!
It’s a sunny chilly day here. ? This time, Spooky kitty is taking advantage of the afternoon sunbeams. Mr. Jalapeno complained about feeling cold, so I told him to put on a pair of sweats. He had been wearing shorts… ?
My engaged friend is getting restless re: wedding plans. She has been making noises about buying her dress online now, and getting alterations made later, if necessary. If she does go that route, I hope it works out for her. It’s a good thing that they set the date for December…
SOTD = back in Bibliotheque EdP.
Oh geez, my hubby does the same thing. Male sense of thermostatic entitlement.
Lolol!
Yep. He was grumbling “Does it feel cold in here?” To me today, the answer was “No!” I am wearing sweat pants, and a T-shirt with a sweatshirt over top of that.
Lol.Well it’s actually mid-Fall over here and I’m in colorful swimshorts today,so there’s that…I get your significant others.Hehe
Today’s temp was around 50 degrees F (10 degrees C), which strikes me as too darn cold for shorts.
I ordering a wedding dress online seems risky to me, unless they let her return it if she doesn’t like it.
The thing about ordering any dress online that I would be concerned about is sizing. However, the bride-to-be has taken that into account, and is ordering a size (or two) up so that alterations can be made if necessary. I have no idea about returns, though.
Grrr, a number of friends who were supposed to get married this May – Aug are now talking about postponing their weddings to next summer. But…I was going to get married next summer! I don’t want to be part of an overcrowded wedding season! Does this mean I should postpone my wedding until 2022?!?! Grump.
Ack. I think you should all coordinate
Group weddings with common groups of friends 🙂
ELOPE!!!!
I like the way you think! But my mother would kill me.
This!
Have you set a specific date yet, Koyel? If not, I would say don’t sweat it. Then again, it isn’t my wedding, so it’s easy for me to say that.
No, we haven’t. I’m just worried about wedding guests who are sick of going to weddings!
I’m having an Iris day today. Carner Barcelona D600 on my left arm and SHL 777 Khol de Bahrein on my right. Many thanks to hajusuuri for the iris samples! ?❤️?
One can never have too many Iris perfumes!
Agree!
So do I!!
I agree with all of you, peeps! ❤️
Joining you in iris – Atélier des Ors Iris Fauve.
Ah, you smell lovely. ?
I’m wearing Amouage again today in Honour Woman, the first FB by them I bought (not that I have that many) (I wish!). It’s very springy and I do love that white bottle with the gold cap. Cats are all fine and a couple of them are out on the kitchen porch enjoying the nice weather and sunshine. But scaring off the doves from the bird feeder that hangs up there. My adventure soon will be to venture out to a fish market I have heard very good things about, in search of something to vary my diet since it’s hard to get grocery store pickup slots and that’s all I am doing these days. I have some frozen and canned goods and pasta but some salmon would be wonderful, or even redfish if they have it!
Smelling wonderful over there!Let us know how your “fishing expedition” went!??
Thank you! It’s a small but super-clean shop and they limit it to 3 customers at a time. Their fish looked beautiful and they had gorgeous large scallops (but expensive!). They are Greek and also had a lot of neat Greek canned items. I bought two big beautiful Norwegian salmon fillets! Yum! One for me and one for my nice neighbors.
Sound awesome!Enjoy the salmon, and you are a nice neighbor too!??
Enjoy your shopping
This morning I wore Chloe Love Story eau Sensuelle, my 8 dollar find from Marshalls earlier this year. Then, I colored my hair in the color soft violet black. It looks really nice, especially since the previous color was faded dark brown burgandy grey. I needed a good perfume match so I went with LouLou. I forgot how much I love this. I smell fantastic ?
You do smell fantastic, and I bet the new hair is fabulous!!
Happy Thursday!??
Thanks Johano! I just have to get rid of the dead ends.
Lou Lou is indeed an amazing scent! You do smell fantastic! And your hair sounds beautiful!!!
Thanks!
I just googled that color, looks gorgeous!
It didn’t turn out as dark as the box color, but still nice!
Your hair sounds beautiful. 🙂
Thank you!
Smokin’ deal on your Chloe ?
I saw your comment about Fragrancebuy Canada yesterday too late to answer. Yes, same place! I didn’t buy enough bottles for free shipping but it was sent by courier, not regular mail. I could track it very easily and will definitely order from them again!
Thanks for the answer. They have a bottle of Davidoff Good Life for sale, cheap, that I’ve been eyeing. I will have to see what shipping is for just one bottle..
“Soft violet black” sounds like a very pretty hair color!
It is a definite improvement!
In À ce Soir, again. It is so, so lovely.
Tea was Bouddha Bleu.
That tea sounds wonderful. I had blue tea today too, Republic of Tea blueberry lavender.
I have that one, too! I like it quite a bit.
“Payment status not available”.
Thanks IRS.
Sotd, citrusy hand sanitizer. My Demeter package shipped and I am lookin forward to sniffing PBnJ. ?
That’s what we got too
That’s for your tax refund? I’d heard that it’s going to be months and months before returns get processed. Not sure what the latest is. 🙁
For the stim check
I was in Silences this morning but after taking my eldest on a walk and the youngest on a bike ride I showered and tried to finish my Lord of Misrule body wash. I think I have about one more shower with it. I love the scent of Lush body products but I’m less of a fan of the colors and glitters.
I agree. My white washcloths aren’t quite as white anymore. ?
Agree on the heavy coloring and particle additives. I’m using the Mi Casa… bar soap right now, and I love the smell and the color (this one’s a purplish blue), but it kind of freaks me out turning that color in the shower.
Some of the LUSH shower gels don’t work for me at all… the cream formulations feel like they leave something behind on my skin after I used them. And it’s not a nice something, either. ?
SOTD was Chanel Paris- Riviera which smelled nice and perky very early this morning, but I couldn’t smell it much today. I hate to waste wearing perfumes I love on days where I don’t get to pay attention to them. May just wear them weekends right now. I did get a compliment on my lavender eucalyptus hand sanitizer in the classroom today! ?
My coworker who went out from work in Monday not feeling well turned up Covid +. So far, she has no respiratory symptoms, but I am worried for her. She’s 63 and lives alone- fortunately has a god daughter close by to shop for her.
I’m having serious considerations about resigning and coming back to work there, but as a per diem through an agency since the nurses in my trainings the last few days who were from agencies are making 2-3 times what the staff nurses are getting hourly. And a lot of them have full times jobs elsewhere already so are just doing a few shifts a week as extra.
I’m on my hubs health insurance anyway…
That does sound tempting…I have a former colleague who left my hospital a few months ago and is now doing agency at a different hospital in town and is making twice what the regular staff are.
Do what you think is right
I would go for the per diem if your husband’s job is secure.
I’m sorry to hear about your coworker, but glad to hear that she has someone to check in on her.
Five sprays of SL Sa Majeste la Rose. Wearing a raspberry and white patterned top for my Zoom class session later on – thus the rose scent – but with jammies on the bottom.
I love how people are not holding back, spraying lots of perfume ?
Concentre d’Orange Verte for me today. Gosh I love this one forever.
I’m such a sucky poster. I lurk and read but don’t know if I’ll ever overcome being on Pacific time and timely commenting. I do think of you all so much and read your posts. You smell so good. Still thankful for this little corner of the world! ❤️
Yep, you smell great KellyC! Sorry about the time difference, but there are always a few of us reading late at night.
Like me LOL ?
West Coast twins! I always read late too.
Glad to see you here ?
Hi Kelly!!!!
I’m in the same boat as a fellow Pacific timer! See, I’m just now getting back to finishing up the Thursday comments. I can sometimes comment early in the day before I get busy, but I often don’t make it back to read and reply until late evening or the next day.
