Trussardi Le Vie di Milano ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 10 April 2020 12 Comments

Italian brand Trussardi has launched Le Vie di Milano, a new limited distribution luxury collection. The six unisex fragrances were inspired by (and named for) specific locations in Milan.

Iconic, unisex fragrances distinguish the new Trussardi scents: a journey that begins far away to relive the unique atmosphere of the streets of Milan.

[...] The satin glass bottle comes ... with a sculptural golden metal cap that accurately reproduces a miniature version of the head of the Italian Levriero, the Trussardi greyhound.

Aperitivo Milanese Porta Nuova ~ "The notes of mandarin leaves, Italian neroli and Calabrian bergamot open the bouquet of Aperitivo Milanese Porta Nuova. The middle notes are occupied by the depth of heliotrope, with amaretto and iris, which mix with the sweet base notes of vanilla, benzoin and amber."

Behind the Curtain Piazza della Scala ~ "A prelude of bergamot, saffron and cloves opens the olfactory score of Behind the Curtain Piazza della Scala. The middle notes of juniper and jasmine, beautifully blended with hints of labdanum and leather, fade into a deep vortex of sandalwood and patchouli."

I vicoli Via Fiori Chiari ~ "Anise, cardamom and lemon celebrate the artistic side of the Brera neighbourhood as the I vicoli Via Fiori Chiari scent opens. Intense patchouli and black pepper reveal all the creative character of this fragrance, leaving space for the opulent base notes of vanilla and liqueur."

Limitless Shopping Via della Spiga ~ "The Limitless Shopping in Via della Spiga perfume opens with notes of bergamot, apple and honeycomb, then slides seamlessly into the elegant notes of rose, jasmine and mahonial. The heart of the scent contains a drop of honey, to create a sensual and voluptuous fragrance. The base notes of heliotropin, hawthorn and tonka bean leave an unmistakeable, permeating hint of oriental musk."

Musc Noir Perfume Enhancer ~ "The Musc Noir Perfume Enhancer scent reveals a complex symphony of iris and musk, blended with the contrasting notes of jasmine and cedar wood. This olfactory composition was developed to enhance the five different fragrances in the Le Vie di Milano collection, yet is also a must-have as an Eau de Parfum."

Passeggiata in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II ~ "The sublime elegance of the Passeggiata in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II has been gathered in the sweet top notes of hazelnut, coffee and cinnamon, and then gently blends into a cocktail of coconut and tuberose absolute with hints of jasminum sambac. The olfactory bouquet reveals the unmistakeable notes of cedar wood, vanilla and white musk at the end."

The Trussardi Le Vie di Milano fragrances are €165 each for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

I don’t like the caps at all. Animal heads are just weird. Lol

I don’t like them either. I don’t like all of those Penhaligon’s animal caps either, although some of them are cute.

Online, the caps look more like ducks than hounds! And worst name ever? Limitless Shopping Via Della Spiga…though the notes in that one intrigue me…mahonia is a wonderful scent. But I’ll never encounter these.

I immediately thought they were ducks because there’s something about that bottle style, palette of colours, and the metallic gold that has a real 1980s Ralph Lauren/Preppy/New England aesthetic. Makes me think of wooden decoys and dark, heavy oil paintings of ‘sporting’ in the outdoors.

The street names would have been enough, I think.

Some of the most awkward names I’ve seen in awhile. And I, too, thought they were ducks.

Those are one hundred per cent ducks and the Trussardi people can’t tell me different. I zoomed in, I examined them closely, I squinted: ducks.

I was able to see the greyhound head after a few looks at it..it’s a bit of an optical illusion. Could either be a duck or a dog lol. Once I saw the “eye” of the greyhound, I was able to see the whole head lol.

But really, at least one person in marketing should have chimed in and mentioned that they look too much like ducks to marketed as greyhounds, optical illusion not withstanding.

Is every brand in the world going to launch an overpriced ‘exclusives’ collection?
When can I look forward to “ Nike de tuberose trainer liner” or ”Gildan eau de cologne et cotton”?
