Saturday is Pi Day and Sunday is the Ides of March. (And next Saturday is the swapmeet.)
We're marking the weekend with our usual open thread poll. Talk about anything you like — the fragrance you’re wearing today, your favorite fragrance for self-quarantining, whatever.
Or, ask a question about fragrance, then see if anyone else has asked a question that you can answer…
Note: top image is DSC08849daffodil [cropped] by Angelica Perduta at flickr; public domain.
I’m wearing Las Flores by Provision Scents today. I’ve been alternating between this scent and Arielle Shoshana’s Sunday because both are very grounding and help me relax.
We’re still not under quarantine, but I’d be shocked if the school district where I work does not close schools by the end of the week.
I hope everyone is safe, healthy and has a great book to read. Virtual hugs to anyone who is feeling extra anxious.
Hugs to you as well! School closures have already been announced here. My teacher friends are concerned about how to transfer to online and when/if they may reopen.
Sunday is so perfect for grounding. Enjoy your day.
I hope we all have a quiet restful weekend.
I am considering buying a Kindle finally and no longer using my iPad. It bothers my eyes, which are dry but the blue screen is said to be great for this. Do you have any experience with Kindles?
I’m not the one you asked, but as much as I love books, I also love my Kindle (Paperwhite version). I can search the book for specific text, look up words, change the lighting, carry multiple “books” with me and never bother someone if I can’t sleep and want to read. Easy on the eyes because it’s front lit.
Also can change font size and easily carry it anywhere.
Thank You springpansy- I didn’t know how current to go but love the paper white!!
Before I collected perfume, I had a little collection of e-readers. Our house is rather dark, so I prefer the e-readers that light up. The black-and-white “e-Ink” e-readers are supposed to be better for your eyes than tablets and such with backlit screens. I find the Kindle Paperwhite easier to read than a Kindle Fire. And the Nook with Glow-light works well for me. There’s less glare from the screens of that kind of e-reader. The Kobo Glo is supposed to be nice. Someday I’ll take a look at one of those.
The e-books that are most often offered free from the various e-bookstores are straight romances. Every so often there will be a cozy mystery for free. I have e-books on a very wide range of subjects, some about niche interests, some with much more of a broad appeal.
I could go on (and on), but I wasn’t the person you asked, either. Hope you get an e-reader you like.
Thank you so much Neyronrose. This is all so helpful and wonderful information.
I am going to order the Paperwhite. Thank you again. I had heard that some of the e-readers have really small screens, similar to phone size.
You’re very welcome.
If you have eye trouble, you definitely don’t want to get a “Mini”-sized e-reader!
You can e-mail me at neyronrose at gmail dot com once you get your Paperwhite all set up, and we could discuss what Kindle books I could lend to you.
I have the Perfume Guides and a few other Kindle books about perfume, and, as I said, books on quite the range of other topics. (lol) If you like cozy mysteries, you’d be set for a while. This goes for others who have Kindles, too.
Also chiming in: love my Koro Aura 2. It’s an older model but charge lasts forever, less eye fatigue than with a tablet etc.
The other reason Kobo eReaders may be worth looking into – they work seamlessly with e-lending libraries.
FREE. BOOKS. If your local library has e-lending through Overdrive you’ll find it very easy. You can return books early, change the lending period, place holds… It’s amazing.
My kindle is actually working great with the public library as well. I rarely buy a book.
Thank you teebear! I was very tempted to go with that model but was trying to be cost conscious, if it isn’t helpful enough I will
exchange. The real issue is that I need drops at night to help w/dryness and then the eyes burn even if I wait 20 minutes afterwards to apply. I will change the timing but still need the e reader so I don’t continue to irritate unknowingly.
Overdrive is a great idea too. Thanks!!
Hi all. I’m wearing Amouage Opus VIII. I’ll explain more about why in a later post ( apart from the fact that it’s beautiful). I hope everyone stays safe and healthy despite current stress and anxiety.
Yesterday’s sotd was Petit Matin. It started out as a nice citrus-y smell then developed a sweeter note as the time wore on. Very nice, and a good substitute for what i originally wanted to wear for the CP.
I wish for you all to be safe and healthy. Please don’t let the stress/anxiety get to you too much.
I like that one!
I’m in Tam Dao, which is my keep calm and carry on fragrance.
The governor called off schools last night starting this Wednesday through at least April 6. Why Wednesday? My daughter is not at risk Monday or Tuesday, but would be on Wednesday…?? It doesn’t make sense to me, but what do I know. I do know that it affects almost 1 million kids across the state and I’m lucky that I took vacation time across these few weeks months ago because both my daughters have different spring breaks. My daughter is also old enough to stay home alone. I feel for families that are probably scrambling to find childcare or use vacation time that they may not have, or had allotted for a real vacation.
Today is the first Saturday I’ve had off in 3 weeks because work has been so busy that I’ve been putting in many hours of overtime. Now I will enjoy some (well deserved imo) time off with my family this weekend.? I was so looking forward to sleeping in that when my alarm went off at 5:30 this morning I woke up panicked and then realized that I was the dummy that set it last night because it has been such a routine. It was so nice to shut it off and go back to sleep.?
I feel ya, mtg!
And this is the song that keeps going around in my head…
https://youtu.be/VxVxIFAQP5I
Yep! Like that.
It feels almost surreal, doesn’t it?
Is your son coming home too?
Sadly no, he works full time. Our plan was to go visit both him and my daughter for Easter weekend. I booked an Airbnb months ago, now it looks like my daughter might still be home so I don’t know what we will do.?
Enjoy your family, and your sleep, this weekend!
That is a good theme song for right now.
Thanks!
It is, isn’t it? I went to the store earlier today and lots of items cleared out, including toilet paper…
Such a crazy week here in Los Angeles. I am currently working at an organization that provides services to the underserved across Los Angeles County and that means services to front line employees. It’s way better and infinitely more satisfying than a 4-5 hour commute on the 405 but it is intense and there is no remote.
And, I am eternally grateful my mom and dad are not alive for this, they would be so confused and frightened by not having family members visit. That hurts my heart for families with elderly.
I think post shower I will go with Satori, although I might not achieve satori! Ever!
Had foot X-ray, not quite healed yet, another two weeks of boot wearing.
Books..lots on kindle, two in car for commute.
Virtual hugs to this caring community.
Thank you for mentioning the elderly. I can’t visit Mom now and she won’t be able to understand why. Also she can’t figure out how to use her phone.
I’m sorry Calypso.
I hope that she is getting extra good care right now – what a worry. My brother & Sil drove 9 hrs to see his MIL and they would not let them in the bldg.
Hugs to you both.
*Hugs*, Calypso. That’s a tough situation.
Just talked to my mom on the phone at the nursing home and she is sad and scared. I want her to turn off the tv because she hears something and gets it confused and exaggerated. However, the tv will be her only stimulation while no one is visiting.
I recommend nature shows, that’s where I’m taking refuge right now.
There have been a few different times in life where I’ve said that I’m grateful my parents weren’t here to see something. My brother gets mad at me. I say it out of deep love though. Although, if my mom was here, she would have made sure that I had toilet paper months ago!
LOL at the TP
Thanks for the laugh at the TP ?
I was talking to my sister yesterday, and we were thinking the same thing. Our folks would have had a difficult time with this. I inquired if she was taking her vitamin C, D and her l-lysine to boost her immune system, and she laughed, because it’s just what our mom would have said.
Now dad, if he’d seen the state of the pillaged grocery stores, would have said, “Well, isn’t this the damndest thing.” ?
I thank God everyday that my mom was a germaphobe and I have enough hand sanitizers, disinfecting wipes, alcohol pads (in desperation) and I’ve been buying a box here and there of individually packaged Purell wipes. That said, I’ve also remarked to my fellow travelers that at some level, it was good that my mom is not around to experience this as she would go out of her mind with anxiety and nag me not to commute in to work. My dad, on the other hand, would take things in stride because he has a habit of stocking up on TP – we usually have 2 of the large Costco packs on hand and if we open one of them, a third one would already be in the house within two weeks.
Oh Man, SO funny!
Well’ hello sister’ ‘coz we must be related …. and is a lot like a ‘Hi twin’)!
Best of Luck apsara, and thank you for your dedication.
thanks AngelaB. I am not a front line of defense person, I am in service to those in service. They are the heroes of this pandemic. I do worry about my sister, a nurse practitioner. But like our Deva and many others here, it is a calling.
Good news amidst all the anxiety and a shout out to Intrepid Travel for doing the right thing. After many sleepless nights this week about our upcoming Morocco trip ( I felt that if there weren’t government or WHO travel alerts, we would travel as we truly didn’t want to lose the money and previous rules were that one forfeited everything if cancelling within 21 days), the tour company cancelled all their trips for the sake of the health of their employees and customers. We will receive vouchers to be used at a future date. I hope more companies start doing that in these stressful times.
Wearing Bruno Acampora Musc on one arm and Ganymede on the other. The BA is surprisingly smoky on me.
Stay fragrant and relax, dude!
Oh yay!
How lovely that the travel company is doing that!!!!!
I have a friend in Morocco now, who is heading to Portugal also. Glad, though, in your case that they took the decision away and reduced anxiety for everyone.
Heading north on Arizona 87, which is a stunning drive in spring after 4 days of rain. If you get the chance, drive it!
I’m in En Voyage Zelda today. We spent last night in Tonto National Forest hoping too see the Salt River wild horses, but no luck. We did hear them though, along with some verbose coyotes.
Campsite last night:

Beautiful pic. ?
Beautiful photos Deva! Safe travels to you.
Safe travels to you and T-Rex!
desert is wonderful after rain:)
lovely!!
I am howling with lonesomeness and envy, can you hear me?
I’m wearing Lady Vengeance Extreme, from a new decant.
I’m in Penhaligon’s Iris Prima for a drive through falling snow to a haircut appointment, then back home to hunker down. Argh. But at least I smell nice.
You smell wonderful!
Thank you!
The insanity of GS cookie season ended this week ? but other insanities in the world have increased sadly. Hoping everyone stays safe and healthy.
My daughter’s school is closed as of Monday and I will be working remote. I went to Target on Thursday and there was no TP so I bought brownies instead which seemed like the logical thing to do.
I am in SS Foxcroft Fairgrounds today which I like but not sure I love/need a FB of.
You’ve got your priorities right! Brownies should always be at the top of the list. I stopped at a Walmart this morning and they are completely sold out of gallon jugs of water. The only thing left was distilled, which maybe people don’t know is perfectly fine to drink…?
And distilled water can be mixed with 91% alcohol for a counter spray! ?. If you have the alcohol, of course.
Yes, brownies!
Ormonde Jayne Ta’if
Wore this to my neighbors funeral this morning, my son’s friends mother died she was 46, pretty sure she had been struggling with addiction for many years.
Nothing else is on the calendar!
everyone seems to be struggling to define for “social distancing”. I think this is especially hard on the extroverts (not me).
So sorry about the death of your son’s friend’s mother, so young and hard on her son.
As a hermit introvert, social distancing is my normal modus operandi.
Thank you cazaubon
Very sorry about the loss…addiction is so tragic. It’s really hard for extroverts. And for us introverts married to them….
Oh how sad. I’m sorry to read this.
I’m an introvert and thought I would flourish with social distancing. And in some ways, things have gone well this past week, but I have been feeling a little restless. I think it’s more the sameness of the surroundings that is getting to me, rather than the lack of people.
Thanks Koyel.
And it’s just the beginning ? I was unintentionally so relieved not to have to do the 10+ things on my calendar this weekend – a lot of it was community-based fundraising, which really is a shame that it was canceled, and many activities for the kids.
That’s really hard to hear, I am so sorry Coin-op. Those are the most heartbreaking stories. I hope your son’s friend has many family members and friends to help him through it.
Thank you Angela. He does, he has a wonderful Dad, sister and brother, extended family and friends. His mom was a very intelligent and accomplished business woman. My neighbor and I weren’t close, but she sent me a message with “help” in the subject line last June. I got back with her 3 times but never figured out what she needed. I wish I reached our more just in case she needed a friend.
Oh my goodness Coin-Op, that is a haunting memory. You surely did your best by reaching out, please don’t feel badly, you couldn’t have known what the eventual outcome would be. Helplessness is the unrealistic natural consequence of addition for family members and friends.
Grrrrr autocorrect clearly I did not mean addition.
I am in the last drops of YSL Caban. This beauty is not cheering me up today as it always did. I guess the uncertainty of what it is happening in the world added to my mother’s illness is taking a great toll on me. Hoping for better times to arrive soon! Heading out to run some errands and then hunkering down for the rest of the weekend.
Stay safe and healthy, everyone!
Thinking about you PL67. Best wishes to you and your mom.
Thanks Adanst! ?
Hugs! (And these hugs are safe since they’re virtual, but still sincere!)
Thanks Springpansy! Safe virtual hugs to you too! ?
Lot’s of love to you pl67 ❤?????
Thanks Lillyjo! ?
Sending you calming and supportive vibes.
Thanks Cazaubon! They are much needed and appreciated! ?
Sending good thoughts and ((hugs)) to you!
Thanks Gail! ?
Hugs and best wishes to you, pl67! I’ll send up a prayer for both of you. ??
Thank you, NL! We both need it! ?
Take good care of yourself PL67,
I sending you some support and comfort for both you and your mom. Peace to you.
Thank you AngelaB! ?
Thinking of you and your family. Virtual *hugs*
Thank you Neyronrose. Virtual hugs back to you! ?
Hello everyone!
The situation is getting pretty serious here. Schools, universities and other public places will be closed for the next 2 weeks. Many companies are sending their employees to work from home to reduce the risk of being infected.
I am safe for now, although I’m still working in the lab for the time being. It’s scary but I hope we’ll get through it.
SotD is Atelier des Ors Nuda Veritas.
We WILL get through it lucasai!
it is scary, lucasai. take care of yourself.
It’s snowing! In Portland, in mid-March! It won’t stick, it’s already melting a bit, but I was surprised this morning when I got up. I looked out the window and thought, “Darn, that bush has developed some kind of white mildew.” Then I put on my glasses
The libraries, community centers (where my gym is), chorus rehearsals, and humane society are all closed. I am thankful for e-books and for the fact that I have put off a number of house projects that now I have no excuse for not finishing. In the spirit of “May you live in interesting times,” I am wearing the most interesting celebuscent I own, Stash.
Yes, my parents just told me it’s snowing! Just in case we need to keep things a little more interesting… Not so much. You smell great
Wearing Pierre Bourdon’s La Fin d’Un Été which never fails to put a smile on my face.
Schools, colleges and most public events have been cancelled all over GA.
Sending hugs to all of you who are going through stressful times.
La Fin d’un Été is such a lovely scent, I’m so glad I got a bottle last September which seems to be the perfect month to acquire it, or wear it.
Micallef Gaiac. My top anti-anxiety fragrance. Going to work out at home and clean house. Nowhere to go right now – but will walk later.
My sons bought some groceries (which was super nice) but they’re kind of random and I generally like to cook with a plan. Need to figure out some dinners.
You can let Google decide for you ?

Argh. Sorry for double post.
Sorry I cannot delete one, but you have answers on both
Good luck with random food!
I love Gaiac..smooth and wonderful.
I sprayed my shower door with ELDO You Or Someone Like You.
It was lovely–like taking a shower outside with mint bushes all around.
Sadly, it did not take the edge off of my anxiety.
I think that I am going to make along To Do list and cross items off one by one-that will make me feel better!
That’s exactly what I’m doing today. Fortunately (?), there is no end to the things needing to be done around here.
I’m wearing something from a sample vial that has a label that has smeared. I think it might be Rose Poudre, but the house looks like something that starts with Roi. Guesses?
Something from Rosine? Rose Praline maybe?
Wearing the very cheery Eau de Mandarin Ambree. Like so many of us, needing a little cheer today.
Went for my weekly groceries to find empty shelves. No chicken! No canned tomatoes! No flour!
I’ll have to put my thinking cap on to figure out how to combine what I could get into nice meals.
There is a funny story on Vox today of the things left on shelves after the panic buying — things like vegan meals and chocolate hummus
Apparently we’re not THAT desperate!
What is the deal with chocolate hummus? It just started to show up on our supermarket shelves about a year ago. Who is buying it?
I guess not many people! When I read it was still on shelves I had a moment of hmmm… but it passed
Chocolate hummus is a actually delicious! A great option for people trying to diet.
It’s a full weekend off for me. Normally, if I have a Saturday off, I take my daughter to the Big Sephora, which is her version of Disneyland. I had to tell her we couldn’t go because she wouldn’t be allowed to use the testers and I didn’t trust her to stick to that rule. We did go to best buy to see about fixing her computer, but no luck.
My Sotd is Korres Lilac Iris Powder edt and matching lotion. This is a very light perfume, but pretty. Better suited for warmer weather. I’m about to start some house cleaning and that’s about it.
At my local drugstore, where they have a decent makeup and perfume department, ALL the testers have been removed.
Sephora sent out an email discouraging the use of the testers, ULTA too.
I got those same emails. It’s kind of creeping me out.
Cheering you on for the house cleaning Lillyjo, I have some to do too, tomorrow as I am flagging this evening. I wish there were Sephora in England.
Thanks! There’s so much to clean, all the time. I think I’m done for the day.
How is Iris Lilac Powder? It sounds really nice!
It reminds me of liz Claiborne Vivid, which I loved. The Korres is extremely light though, something I would like in the summer to feel pretty. Realizing that’s not much of a useful description… I only got lilac and powder, no iris to my nose.
Thank you!
OMG lillyjo, our house has not been this clean since we got it professionally cleaned before moving in in October. Our floors sparkle! Every surface shines! If only we could be this clean even when we aren’t in lockdown. (If only we could trust professional cleaners not to let out the cat! If only they were not quite so expensive!)
Scent-free as I contemplate cleaning the bathroom. It looks as if it will be a lovely autumn day here, but the mornings are a bit nippy already.
We’ll go for a walk a bit later, and I think Chamade will be a nice accompaniment.
You will smell lovely on your walk.
There are a lot of rooms and projects I’ve been contemplating.
We have decided to leave for Montréal in the car next weekend, so we are busy packing and preparing the vehicle. I am going to wait until the last minute to cancel my flight, in the hope that the airline does it and I can get reimbursed.
Wearing Amouage Interlude to calm my jitters.
How long would you have to drive?
3 days if we drove all day, stopping only to sleep/eat/get gas. It’s 3,000+ miles.
Oh my.
I drove across country from CA to NYC. I enjoyed it. Oddly enough, we didn’t talk as much as expected. Neither did we do that much radio. Just quiet.
Ditto this. I hardly ever listen to anything on road trips, just enjoy the silence.
Have a safe trip!
Courage for a seriously long trip!
Safe travels, Cazaubon!
Thank you all for the good wishes!
Have a good playlist:) lol
Thinking of you!
You’re my road tripping twin, although you are going twice the distance I am. Hope you hit good weather the entire way?
Good weather and safe travel wishes to you too!
Safe travels T!You smell so lovely today!XO
Thank you Johanó!
You guys may be in for 14-day self isolation when you return too!! Bummer. My best friend arrived back Thursday night from Australia right as they put the recommendation to self quarantine into place.
However you travel, let me know when you get back if you want/need a grocery friend to make deliveries! I’m supplying my bestie already and my schedule is flexible.
Thanks for your very kind offer. We are driving back with our van filled with food and toilet paper.
We plan to unload and then hole up in the condo until the coast is clearer. There is a Metro grocery store across the street which I hope will continue to be stocked, for fresh items. My only wish right now is to make it safely home.
Yes, there are no shortages of food overall or TP despite some people panic-buying on Friday. A few stores are still looking a bit picked over today, but zero worries on that front overall. Sending you wishes for safe travel!
I hope it’s a safe drive and that you get your refund!
Thank you lillyjo.
Have a safe trip home cazaubon! I am in Toronto and the weather up here this winter has been much milder than what we might usually get… no snow, dry roads. I actually saw snowdrops yesterday! On the 14th of March! I hope Montreal is the same so you come back to springlike weather! And the best bagels!
Really looking forward to Montréal bagels.
I hope the weather holds up as you describe. We have 3 season tires, but snow tire restriction is lifted on 3/15 so if we don’t hit a freak storm we should be fine. And just in time for hot cross buns!
Oof. Have a good, safe trip back!
Not quite feeling it in Hiram Green’s Slowdive. I ordered a bunch of his samples a while ago, and after testing all of them the only one I would want a bottle of, which fortunately I already have is Moon Bloom.
I love the opening of Dilettante, and I guess it’s my second favourite, the far dry down however is not quite to my liking.
Went for a nice long walk and did some cleaning in my house. I might as well make good use of this enforced seclusion. I hope people on here will use perfume as a distraction from stress. Sending calm and good smells to everyone who needs either of those.
I’m assuming you’re not going to France then. I read today that the French government has ordered all non essential businesses to close for the time being. We’re likely going to cancel our trip to France in May. I doubt things are going to get much better by then. Is the Netherlands under similar restrictions at the moment?
Not quite as severe, but I’m assuming all schools will have to close down, next week. There is a huge scientific debate about how children “work” in this epidemic. Scientists know for sure that with influenza epidemics they often work as vectors, not getting sick themselves but transmitting the virus to others. The thing is, the experts can’t be sure about a lot of things concerning this virus right now, and people want clear answers that they can’t give. So those in charge make the best decisions they can given what they know and may have to alter those decisions at a later date.
I realised Friday evening that although my employer does not forbid non-essential travel to foreign countries our PM basically stated that health care professionals would not be allowed to travel abroad. So I’m not. I will see. I can’t visit my parents, or rather I’d rather not. Their part of the country is but little affected and I live in the most severely hit province. I just make regular phone calls and hope for the best.
It’s interesting to witness the decision making process and the confusion that continues to manifest itself even as new guidelines are being issued on an almost daily basis. I’m a pediatrician (in an office setting) and we’re trying to grapple with how to best serve our patients while managing the underlying anxiety that dominates in our communities right now.
There are more questions than answers at this time but I’m sure we’ll make some progress soon.
Best to you and your family!
Thanks! A friend of mine who works as a paediatrician in the UK has told me that she may have to care for adults for a while.
We are learning on the job with this one, besides, few are ever completely certain where healthcare is concerned.
Good luck with your work as well!
Funny story: on Friday, the gov of Pennsylvania asked, but did not order, all non-essential businesses & places open to the public to close for 2 weeks. Local gardens closed, library closed, YMCA closed, etc. King of Prussia mall said it wasn’t clear what was non-essential so they were staying open.
Apparently the next day someone explained to them, because on Saturday they announced they would close.
When in doubt: don’t use common sense. There have been people celebrating their last evening in pubs as they are closing down. Honestly, some people seem to have no concept of crowding.
Also for those running out of toiletpaper this might help:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4ZDhT_pDRc
Hahaha
glad someone explained it to them!
I got an e-mail from Lush saying that they were closing their US and Canada stores temporarily, but they’d still be selling soap online, as soap is a useful product under the circumstances. (paraphrasing)
I was sad about the library closing for a couple of weeks, but the one near me is very, very busy, so perhaps that’s better for folks’ health. And it’s pretty this time of year at Longwood Gardens, but that’s also a place that gets very crowded at times.
I’d planted a lot of crocus on the hillside in front of the house a couple of years ago, and those are making little masses of color. The early daffodils that are in sunny places are starting to bloom, and there should be tulips and hyacinths blooming on the hillside and by the porch soon.
I wish Longwood had found a way to keep the outside open — people do need to get out and walk! — but I understand why it’s the right choice.
We had tons of crocuses but the squirrels have really done a number on them
Wearing Chergui as it is a nice feel-good scent. It is definitely strange to go to the grocery store and see more than the usual number of people there, all stocking up on everything they feel they will need for a couple of weeks in the event that some of those items are not available in the days coming up.
Stay well and stay safe, everyone.
Yes, You smell great!! Funny, after reading all the comments this is the first one I have tried! I was thinking about this one the other day because I smelled a body product that smelled similar… of course I don’t remember what it was now. If I remember I’ll come back to report.
I am currently in Epic woman right now. Spent the day cleaning and rearranging furniture and I am done for the day. Other people want me to do other projects today but I am done with projects for the day. I can’t believe that the govenor closed schools down for 3 weeks. Waiting for my Amazon package of Tazo chai tea comes in a little bit.
Hope you’re drinking some nice chai now
Smelled some nice mtn laurel trees today..sometimes you gotta stop and smell the blossoms. So i guess that was my sotd. I do wish there was more of a voice of reason and calm from leadership but we gotta be our own. Take breaks from social media when needed and give yourself some nice calgon moments lol. Light a candle, have some chardonnay..this too shall pass:)
We smelled some lovely early magnolias here last night
I was volunteering at the library in my Jil Sander Sun, I will use it quite a bit when summer comes as it deserves better than just the library, it’s discreet and linear but not dull. Had to wash my hands 12 times and the library soap is not moisturizing. This evening I am wearing Caron Farnesiana, I missed it so much and found it again when I reorganized the perfume cabinet a few weeks ago. Must wear more Caron perfumes, the house has been in decline but the five I have I absolutely adore, especially my gigantic bottle of vintage Bellodgia.
Mmm jealous of vintage bellodgia:) lovely scent
I had to wait a long time for it
a detail but it might be of interest to you, go for the ones labelled Au Bellodgia, these are the true vintage ones and their scent is intact after all these years. If you are in Europe, I’d be happy to send you a decant.
I am in the US but thanks for the offer and the tip! I have some modern bellodgia and that works just fine:).
Same here, I work with students all day so I wash my hands over and over. I’ve started working coconut oil into my hands (and feet) at bedtime. Lotion during the day helps, but it’s not enough.
Love your Caron scents. They are precious, Bellodgia is a real jewel.
Maybe I should do the same, I wonder if you wear socks after applying the oil or iif the massaging enough to avoid stickiness. So glad you are a Caron fan too.
I’ve been using argan oil on my hands followed by a heavy hand cream. It’s been working wonders!
absolutely yes, I wear socks after putting oil on my feet.
Our libraries are closed into April (Seattle). I’m hoping I can still check out ebooks.
Fingers crossed for ebooks still being available. Libraries in the UK might close too at some point.
Same in Montréal.
Library closed here, and they don’t even want you to use the outdoor box to return books.
Dang.
Speaking of Caron, does anyone know if the Caron Aimez-Moi in the new bottle is the same as the old version? Seems like a great one for spring
Oh, it’s a Caron I have, one vintage in the ‘cushion’ bottle with a distinctive blue top and a newer one rectangular one in a white and gold box, perhaps it’s the one you mean? They smell identical to my nose, but then Aimez-Moi is a newer scent relatively so less likely to suffer from reformulation, I love its pastis/violetty note. The scents which suffered most are the classics. Victoria’s great article on Caron on her blog Bois de Jasmin might be of interest to you.
I will definitely check out her article, one of my fav blogs! Thanks
You’re creating a lemming for me!
Sorry
I think you would love Aimez-Moi, it’s at its best in spring and early summer imo.
Oh nice!
I wore Nocturnes yesterday,such a pretty aldehyde.
Nocturnes is lovely, I remember smelling it as a teenager, I think it’s ChocolateMarzipan who likes it a lot.
Workers at the library were wearing gloves. Sadly, I will stop borrowing books until this whole thing is over. I may need to check out Libby or whatever my library uses.
I’ve been doing e-books only for years. Could make my reserve time longer now as more people move to that option.
Oh no, I hadn’t even thought of that O_O O_O Maybe I’ll end up buying more ebooks than usual….
Check to see if your library offers e-books for borrowing. Most do. I’m thankful NYPL is a huge system, so generally quite a few available. Your county may have a good selection.
Wearing Nuit de Tubereuse as I needed its juicy-fruit weirdness.
I hope everyone has a healthy weekend!
You too AD!
Just back from a quick shopping trip. Yes, both my neighborhood stores were busier than usual, and out of tp! It’s real, people..
Wearing several sprays of Hermes Hiris to try to remain calm in the craziness.
You smell terrific! You have inspired me to spray on some Hiris after I finish my laundry!
Thank you!
You smell lovely Gail!
I understand sanitizer being sold out,but toilet paper??Lol!
The s… Is really hitting the fan then.
.??
After Koyel’s comments of the lovely scents wafting her way through the open window, I decided to wear SSS Jour Ensolleille, since it reminds me so much of Nor Cal. I love this scent so much, and it makes me happy it’s back.
Spent the early morning on a Zoom call – preparing for a class I’m in to move to online (I lead a small subgroup of class members). I went ahead and paid for the monthly account to add flexibility. Hoping to test it out later today with my sisters.
Agnes was keeping me company this morning with some light snoring… https://www.instagram.com/p/B9t5f74pyCF/?igshid=uzxgaz83n2dx
PSA for opera lovers. The Met will be showing some of their on demand live-streams for free starting on Monday. https://www.metopera.org/about/press-releases/met-to-launch-nightly-met-opera-streams-a-free-series-of-encore-live-in-hd-presentations-streamed-on-the-company-website-during-the-coronavirus-closure/
I’m taking advance of this time to read and knit. Plenty to keep me busy.
She is so lovely! ?
Thank you so much for those opera links. I think I will take advantage of my staycation to listen to a few!
I’m also planning on doing some serious knitting. It is so soothing.
light snoring kitties!?
You smell fabulous and sunny.
Yes!! Thank you for letting music lovers know about this!!!
adorable kitty! I wish I still had feline friends to snuggle.
I do have books and yarn, so I’m reading and knitting too.
She’s not a snuggler. I’m hoping I can add a “yet” to that and the skittishness goes away. Her big thing now is to jump up onto my spot if I get up from the couch.
I know nothing about cats, but that sounds like pre-snuggling behavior to me! I hope she warms up to a cuddle very soon. ?
I have heard many great things about JE, and will have to try it someday! Agnes is such a sweetie. And thanks for sharing the Met link!
SotD = l’air du desert marocain
laddm is like a vacation for my nose and brain, very soothing and uplifting.
Gray skies, no rain yet. Staying in today, putting together an IKEA Hemnes chest of drawers for my bedroom. Until recently I had only a bed and a night table. But I have a very large closet with many shelves so it was ok.
After 7 years in this house it is time to pretend I’m grown up and make some furniture choices. The new chest has a white finish, very pretty, but I’m wondering if it will stay white as time goes on.
As I read pictorial assembly instructions and turn screws I wonder — is someone else somewhere in the world is doing the same with their new Hemnes? It’s a nice feeling.
Hope everyone has a moment of niceness today.
Stay calm and perfume on!
What a lovely story Tiffanie.
Enjoy your serenity.
You enjoy that little pleasure today.
And you smell EPIC!
???
Congratulations on your new chest, and well done to have put it together.
The white ikea stuff in my house has faded only very slightly in 5 years…it is not even noticeable.
Commando today. What a week.
No toilet paper, really people?
I have company coming- well, maybe I do.
I say Keep Calm and then KEEP CALMER.
calmer! excellent advice. you made me smile.
Glad to be of service.
Hi everyone!
Still safe and not sick!Dealing with the public and patients puts us at high risk, but my hospital has been excellent in implementing preventative measures.
38 positive cases so far. From 1-38 in two weeks is pretty scary, but we march on…in Chanel No.5 today. At least we can smell pretty during ugly times, and perfume counts as “alcohol rub”,yes?Yes.
Happy Weekend Babes!
Stay safe out there!
XO
You smell wonderful, J! Happy weekend to you too! Hugs! ???
Happy Weekend my friend!Stay safe in NY!
????
Trying my best! It is insane here. We will survive!
Yes we will!Thinking of you and my friend Matthew who also lives there!??❤️
Just to add to what others have said:I am sooo glad my Mom is not around for these scary times.A lot of stuff has happened in and around South Africa lately, that would have made her sad and anxious.I am grateful she does not have to go through this.Still,I miss her so much, and wish she was here…
XO
❤??????❣
???❤️
I understand your feelings, I lost my mother far too soon but then she never had to go through old age and illnesses. When we think of them they are still alive somehow.
That is so true.
And not a day goes by that I do not think about her,and miss her terribly!???
Glad to see you here! I also thought of that today, using perfume as hand sanitizer – precautionary measures, right?
Smelling wonderful, johanob!
Glad to see you as well Gail!
And yes, when we get desperate,I suppose Bendelirious or Amouage Beloved will have to do as hand sanitizer…hahahahaha!!
Stay safe out there!???
thank you for doing all that you do, johanob!
Thank you for saying that Tiffanie!
We are all waiting for a special broadcast at 6pm from the Prrsident(its 5:30 pm now),telling us what the next plan of action is going to be.
Have a good Sunday!
XO
Scary times indeed. Hope you stay well and safe. I am going to start carrying some lesser loved perfumes around as hand sanitizer.
Haha!!Good plan T!
Or spray people coughing close to us with it!Lol!
Anybody have that Victoria’s Secret perfume the mosquitoes apparently hate?Maybe we can use that on this damn Corona too…✌?????
Sometimes, if I’m feeling unsafe by someone in a parking lot, I think about spraying them with something from my purse stash, lol.
Have Poison on standby for that!Haha!
I bet you are a compassionate and funny caretaker. I am glad people like you are out there willing to take care of people like me! As an aside, my husband brought me home a gift yesterday—a small collection of mini bottles of hand sanitizers. Isn’t it romantic?
That is so fantastic!! Your hubby is a gem. Y’all stay safe and well! ?
Love in the time of chol…I mean Corona…????♥️
Exactly!
I loved that they timed a huge group applause for health care workers in Italy and in Spain…
Yes that was awesome.
The Year of the Nurse….and what a year it’s been so far.
I’m trying out the new Hermes L’Ombre. It’s not remarkable, but at least I’m not getting a lot of marine notes, which bugged me in Bleue.
Need to get out and walk the dog today. Went to Whole Foods earlier, and they were fairly well stocked. Everyone seemed to be calm and collected, which was a relief.
Take care everyone, and stay safe and serene this weekend!
EdM Bleue was too marine for me, so I’m hoping I’ll enjoy L’ombre a little more. Hope you enjoyed a walk today.
I did have a walk today, almost an hour, and right before the rain hit! ☔️
Love your new legend logo!
I’m wearing Amouage Sunshine Woman, which is the happiest scent I could think of
Here in Toronto we aren’t on official quarantine yet but things are getting real. All public schools are closed until Easter, and all City programs and facilities are closed (except for essential services). All non essential travel has been discouraged as has any large gatherings (sports, theatres, museums, etc.)
I’m actually a professional opera singer, so not being able to rehearse, perform or teach regular music lessons is a pretty big hit
However, I know it could be a lot worse, and I’m incredibly grateful for the dedication and sacrifice of health care professionals and volunteers here and in countries all over the world, Thank you!
hi Susanetta! Your Sunshine is a perfect choice today.
I teach piano and am not looking forward to many weeks without seeing my students. But you’re right, there is a lot to be grateful for.
Thank you Tiffanie, I just got it and I love it! I use to teach children’s beginner piano, but now I have mostly voice students. Hang in there!
I am super impressed by your choice of career, and the fact that you had the talent to be able to make a career of it. I am a health care professional and these days I listen to all my beloved old classical music CDs. I think we tend to admire those with talents opposite of our own.
That is so kind of you Amyitis, Thank you! I have so much respect for doctors and nurses! (I even took a few pre-med courses!) it’s so fascinating
What’s your fav CD?
Things are getting real here as well. No school for anyone, cases multiplying. A lot of fear in the air. I know someone who runs an order that has a huge nursing home facility, and he says that the 2,000 plus who make it their home are very frightened.
Oh gosh, that’s a lot of people in one place. My aunt is in an independent living community, and she and her friends are on edge.
That is a big one, No wonder they are scared! I hope with help they can weather the storm and stay safe!
Did a grocery run for my bestie, who’s doing her recommended self-isolation after she returned from Australia Thursday, and then we had tea at our mandated 2m distance.
Wanted to try something lavender when I got home, so I just popped on Guerlain Mon Guerlain from a tester included with some decants I got recently.
I love lavender and I love vanilla, and I won’t lie, I love fabric softener now and then, but… On my clothes. This feels like I poured it over my head instead.
They should have named this Fille D’assouplissant as a play on words. (Dryer sheet is “feuille d’assouplissant” on French).
ha! perfect jeux de mots, now I must find my sample of Mon Guerlain and give it a try.
I love Mon Guerlain and I don’t get the feuille d’assouplissant association at all, but I love your pun!
The only iteration of the Mon Guerlain family I do not get on with is the Rose one.
Oh, I definitely sabotaged myself by having vanilla scented laundry sheets currently!
Mr. Teebear and I have two longhaired cats – one black, and one white. This was definitely not on purpose ? The heart loves rescues where it will, and then you need antistatic treatment on your laundry for all eternity.
But Snuggle reformulated the Cuddle Up Fresh scent I used to love, and so the vanilla sheets are new to me and a very distinct scent impression still!
Made it to Twisted Lily today; so sad this really amazing niche fragrance store is closing
Somehow managed to control myself and just pick up a 15ml Fig Tea and CdG Lily which we all know my husband will be very happy about.
Biked down from the UWS and enjoyed being out of the house and on a bike in what was a gorgeous day.
Wearing a mix of stuff from sampling but mainly smell a baby powder scent that I will be scrubbing off as soon as I get home.
I’m sad too – thought they were already closed. I need to make use of bikes. Fig tea! Something I started liking late.
Very sad indeed, that was a classy modern and artfully designed store (and on line store).
Today I took my beloved 8 year old mixed breed cat Zoe to the veterinarian for the third time in four days all because of something that weren’t awry when she received a distemper vaccine booster shot. When she was home, she was limping and not putting any pressure on the opposite arm she got the shot in. She had a fever of 104.1 the next day.l so we brought her back. We thought there was some sort of fracture on her paw or arm if they had taken out of her carrier too forcefully. I don’t think it had to do with the vaccine and she was fine under my watch. We brought her again today where another doctor felt that there was some pain:or tension in her left arm and gave her some pills to take home and I’m happy to report she’s walking okay and her temperature is down to 103.4. Cats have a slightly higher normal temperature than humans. Now I’m off to Sephora to return something that didn’t work out and browse!
SotD is Comme des Garçons Series 10: Clash EDP Radish Vetiver which I love because it felt crisp and fresh today when I needed a pick-me-up!
Glad your cat is feeling better, it’s always a bit worrying because they can’t tell us what is hurting.
Poor kitty! Hoping she feels better asap.
Sending healing vibes to your kitty!
What did you return?
STOP THE PRESSES! THIS JUST IN FROM CHANEL:
“In this uncertain time, we at CHANEL are especially and unwaveringly committed to doing everything we can for the safety and well-being of our clients and colleagues.
As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) affects us all in diverse ways, we are closely monitoring this rapidly evolving situation. We are following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as our local, state and federal governments, to minimize the spread and impact of the virus.
To that effect, we have equipped our boutiques with additional cleaning and sanitizing supplies, and our teams are following the prescribed safety protocols of regular handwashing, sanitization of all surfaces and minimizing physical contact. We are implementing new practices in our boutiques and at our counters, including self-application of fragrance and beauty products.”
Interesting. I guess I haven’t been to Chanel boutiques much – do you usually not self apply fragrance there? Or do they mean the opposite?
I have been getting a lot of those emails. Ulta, Sephora, Old Navy, Chanel and a couple others have sent those to me.
Me too. Some have real updates, like that they are closing their retail stores for the time-being, others tell me to wash my hands, etc. I had no idea so many businesses had my email address!
Commando perfume-wise so far today. I’ll probably put on a bit of some light and cheery fragrance at bedtime. Hoping everyone stays safe and well!
Ended up with the fragrance product I’ve been wearing fairly often of late: Crabtree & Evelyn Lavender hand therapy cream. I’ve been applying it today, too.
I love lavender creams more then lavender perfumes
I like lavender lotions and creams also. I’ve been washing my hands even more than usual, so I’m trying to keep up with moisturizing my hands, also.
Went out yesterday to the grocery store. People here in my conservative area are in denial, there was someone carrying on loudly looking at the depleted milk cooler, “I am a nurse, and this is so overblown. There is nothing to it.” I did not say to her, “If you are really a nurse, you should know better than that.” I just moved away. Ugh. Now I am working from home all week and not going out. This morning , commando, but after some intense house cleaning I will take a shower and the probably try Casablanca again. Start seeds for the garden, sort my knitting stash, try to find the hard copy of “The Handmaid’s Tale” which is somewhere in my sadly disarrayed bookshelves….So many things to do.
Isn’t Casablanca a pretty scent? So expensive though, but I think is worthy. It is in my endless “shopping list”, but I may eventually get a full bottle.
It is pretty! I greatly appreciate the sample you sent me.
I compare all of these floral incense perfumes to Mohur Extrait, and this one comes up to the mark. The opening is amazing and it wears well and long. I think I prefer Mohur’s long dry down, but Casablanca goes on longer on me than Mohur. I am impressed. I have already ordered a sample of the other one, LAV, which is compared to Avignon (which doesn’t do it for me) and La Liturgie des Heures (which I love but have not bought more of for some reason). Perfumes are a good distraction during these staycation times. Stay well.
The Mohur extrait has a gorgeous drydown. Casablanca is very tenacious in skin and even more on clothes. A full bottle will last forever.
I am also an incense lover. Earlier today I sprayed on the last drops of a sample of Serge Lutens L’Orpheline. Such a nice creamy, light powdery incense. The drydown is still going strong after 6 hours. Very pretty and comfy. If you have not tried it yet I highly recommend it.
I agree that perfumes are a good distraction and therapy right now. Be well!!
I hate loud people, regardless of what they are saying.
See my comments below about my family members. Feeling your pain.
Had a pretty normal Sunday so far…took my car for a wash, had a haircut at the barbershop, did some shopping for some essentials(NOT toilet paper NOR canned baked beans…haha)
There is a bit of fear and panic in the air,but most people go about their normal routines still.
SOTD!
Zegna’s Acqua di Iris, which I totally adore, such an easy to wear perfume!
Perfect for Sunday!
Happy Sunday boys and girls!
Stay safe!
XO
Sounds good! I desperately need a haircut, this week. Going out tomorrow foraging for more canned beans and toilet paper.
Definitely foraging. We are heading out to look for tp again;
Shoppers, IGA and Save On Foods was out yesterday in my neck of the woods. Maybe they re-stocked overnight! It’s nuts!
Hope you get a good haircut and have luck with your shopping. If you need a good hair stylist, I highly recommend mine; she knows how to cut long, thick and wavy hair properly. (You could stop in on your way home!)
Sadly my hair is thin and fine. I do want to come visit you some time, I’m still dreaming of moving to BC some day.
That would be great to meet!
Happy Foraging!Lol!
Sending good vibes to you T!
XO
Happy Sunday, Johanob! Yay for not toilet paper or canned food ?. Enjoy the day!
Haha!
After the President’s speech,I might have to go and get that damn toilet paper and beans tomorrow!???
You might have to!
?????
Glad your day was relatively normal! Iris scents are always calming for me.
Yes they are to me as well!
Thinking Iris Silver Mist tomorrow…
I may join you in ISM tomorrow. Take care of yourself my dear!
We will smell fabulous amidst the chaos!
Last Sunday I spent a kidney on a coloring session, but my hair looks amazing. It was so worth it, and I am saying this as someone who under normal circumstances works from home and is doing my damnedest to social distance ?
I did the color myself yesterday…I have a recipe for “silver” hair…haha.I have dark blond hair,so its fairly easy to attain my perfect color.
Stay safe!!
???
And we had a speech from the President…SA is in lockdown,no foreign travel, visas for visitors have been revoked, sea and land borders are closed.Schools close this Wednesday for a month(it was a 2 week school holiday originally…)
I’m glad they are taking it seriously.
Tomorrow will be interesting at Centurion Eye Hospital…lol.
Stay safe guys!
XX
It’s good that it’s been taken seriously.
Wearing 4160 Tuesdays Take Me to the River and wishing I was in a cabin in the woods far, far away from this hysteria. Very hard to sleep.
Agree! I already stopped reading or listening to the news during the day. Nothing will change if I do. I will check very briefly early in the mornings to see if there is anything that may prevent me from going to work. I need some peace of mind and soul.
Joining you in thought.
You have my sympathy Cazaubon. Take care of yourself and safe travels back to Montreal!
Thank you adanst. May you stall well and safe.
Stay, not stall.
Take Me to the River (Annie Lennox version) seems so fitting just now—instant ear worm.
LOVE the Annie Lennox version!!
Total earworm now!!♥️??
We are seriously contemplating doing just that. My parents live literally out in the middle of nowhere and they’re in Florida right now so we’d have the house to ourselves. I texted my mom and she assured me there is plenty of TP.?
Do it!!
I am back again. I am heading up Verizon to replace everyone’s cellphones. My dad’s phone’s screen doesn’t work anymore and we all had upgrades anyway. I will be making sauerbratten today, I have never made it before. Wearing Les Annees 25 BIS today.
You smell wonderful! Enjoy the new phones!
So. What is sauerbraten? And what are your thoughts on LA25B?
The best way to describe saurbraten is it’s a pickled pot roast. It’s a German dish and making it with a side of potato pancakes. I really do enjoy Les Annees 25 BIS.
This sounds delicious!
Ditto!
Yummy
Here in Milan we have been hit hard and we are concerned about our American friends
We pray and hope that the health care system will be able to handle the emergency
Stay safe and healthy CristinaM! My sister’s in-laws are from Milan and they are very concerned there, but hoping things start getting better soon. Let’s hope for the best!
You have my full sympathy, Italy has been hit really badly. I hope things start improving soon.
Thank you ..it is crazy here
I am so sorry for what you are going through, may it improve soon.
Sending warm thoughts and hopes for a quick improvement of the situation.
Wishing you all strength and good fortune! Italy is such a warm and wonderful place, hope life improves there soon.
My heart goes out to you in Milano!
Like everyone else dealing with general covid 19 craziness. The first leg of my international flight got cancelled by the airline so of course I had to cancel the rest of it – I’m not sure if I will be the refunded. It’s a nightmare calling customer service at both Expedia and Lufthansa.
My little street is organizing an Italian style sing out this afternoon. “Lean on me.”We have a Grammy award winning musician on our street and a professional opera singer so it will be good!
My SOTD is Gucci Bloom
Have a great time at the sing out!
Oh that sing out sounds wonderful! Enjoy!
Oh yay, I’ve had so much fun watching the group sing videos!
Oh how wonderful! Let us know how it goes – how far away are the houses?
And, You smell great
It went really well! We sang it 4 times and two of the neighbors played their guitars in accompaniment. We live on a cul de sac built in the sixties so the houses are not that far apart.
My family was complaining about my off key singing the whole time. I’m one of those ppl who thinks they have a better voice then they actually do ?
How lovely! No one like family to keep it real ?
I hope you’re able to get credit for your trip ?
Love it ❤️ !!!
Lot’s of sunshine here today. It’s drawing attention to all the dust, lol, so I’m instructing my son on how to dust properly. He just pledged my Rush Signals Album cover, ugh. I guess I need better instructions. I’m wearing Angelique Noire, so I can feel beautiful. Oh my gosh, I clarified damp cloth, and he brought out a soaked dishrag. I guess I better get up ?
Thinking of and thanking all of you.. every day ❤
What is it with our kids and the definition of a “damp rag”? At 16, my younger son still has trouble gauging it ?.
Sorry about the album cover, but thanks for the laugh!
Anytime ?
The sun just came out here, you must have sent it my way.?
Ha! Every now and then mother nature lets me return the favor to you!?
Haha that’s hilarious
Knowing, Aromatics Elixir, and Ubar have been in heavy rotation these days. While they haven’t been my comfort scents in the past, I am finding their earthy patchouli-ness grounding.
My older son is coming home tomorrow night, bringing a friend from college who is from Beijing. He has been so unsure of what to do. Going home is so complicated for him, health-wise and visa-wise. If he flew back to China, it is unclear when he could return, which could entail not being able to return to the US for college for years. It is tough on his family that he is not going to go home now. I hope that we can be a good family for him, for the duration. Meanwhile, we are stocking the larder to reduce the amount of shopping we will need to do over the coming weeks. I just got an annoying text from a family member who generally feels superior (she has on more than one occasion referred to herself, without irony, as a prophet in the wilderness). The text is a photo of two bags of pistachios—her “hoarding” as she called it. Good on ya. And my mom told me yesterday that she was refusing to stock up on anything because she and her husband like to eat fresh fish—and yes, she is an avid consumer of news.???I guess fresh fish is the exception to social distancing?
A prophet in the wilderness? Lol, who talks like that?! It’s really good of you to take the friend in. I did what I could to stock up on friday, but other bills must be paid this month and the next..
That’s great of you to take in that student! Yes, it would likely be hard for him to come back. A co-worker’s wife went to China to visit relatives in January… she has been stuck there since then. So my co-worker has been doing single-parenting ever since. I’m sure it is scary for his young son, not knowing when mom will return. Poor kid.
I’m sure that you will be a good family for him.? I bet just having somewhere to go will come as a relief to him and his family.
Like everyone else, just bumping along with this coronavirus thing. We’ve got plenty of groceries (and TP) for a couple of weeks. Introvert me is fine with staying home; extrovert husband… not so much. He’s out teaching at the fire department academy this weekend. And I do mean ‘out’ as in ‘outside in the rain’… he got home drenched last night. And he has a cough. Well we all know who the risk factor is in this house (rolling my eyes here).
My husband’s employer has sent everyone home to work from home. Mine, meanwhile, sent out an email saying that since no employees have been diagnosed with covid-19, it is business as usual. What?? So the cunning plan is to wait until we’ve had definite workplace exposure until they decide it’s time to prevent workplace exposure? Uh…. I’m just ignoring them, and working from home, as are many of my co-workers. The local schools are all closing starting next week so co-workers with school age kids have to stay home anyway. Yeesh.
Meanwhile I’m currently testing EL Cinnabar vs Papillon Bengale Rouge. Cinnabar is winning my vote
Cinnabar is lovely, plus has a great name.
This virus is a perfect excuse for us introverted hermits to stay home. I am not bothered (for now).
I’m wearing Passage D’Enfer and feeling pretty zen today. Went to the gym…yep, still going, just cleaning the machines thoroughly. The employees there are cleaning constantly, and with the drop in attendance, I’m thinking the place is actually safer than it was a couple of weeks ago. Now if they run out of cleaning supplies, I’ll have to rethink it.
I can hear my mom telling me to not borrow trouble.
My mantras:
I am healthy.
I am fit.
I am housed.
I have a stocked pantry.
I have a stocked freezer.
We will get through this.
????????
Good for you! and I agree with your mantra.
I’m right there with you.?? Great mantras.
Quebec has just announced all gyms, pools, bars, discos, casinos etc to be closed and restaurants to seat at 50% capacity.
Woke up (relatively) early this Sunday morning so decided to have some coffee then hit the laundry room. Four loads, which included flannel sheets, duvet cover, towels. My husband is just now heading down to do some clothes. Reorganized the closet where we keep linens…it was out of control…and our kitchen drawer with napkins and dish towels And cleaned up my bedside table, which was badly cluttered. Our tiny place needs a thorough purging and reorg. Today wasn’t even tip of the iceberg…
Finally sprayed on LADDM. So so good.
Wow! Sounds like a productive day! My plan is to do some spring cleaning too this week and get my girls to help…we’ll see how that goes.
You do smell so good!
That’s alot of cleaning! I have a feeling I will be doing alot of that too in the coming weeks.
Woke up at 4 am this morning with George Thorogood in my head, “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer.” Thinking that would probably not be a very wise breakfast, I switched my attention to my new bottle of Ginger Piccante, which is really nice. Not as gingery as Origins Ginger Essence, but ginger and pepper up front. Oddly I get the impression of a “sparkly” fragrance. Terrible longevity on me, though, about 3 hours. Good thing it comes in that big bottle. I finally got George out of my head by playing some KD Lang, I find her voice so soothing. On the toilet paper issue, I came back from a trip where I used a bidet and bought a bidet toilet seat. It’s wonderful and now I mostly use TP to blot makeup and the drips from my eyedrops.
Off to price bidet toilet seats…
??
I have a bidet hand held washer – super easy to install and might be cheaper then the seat!
I’m like you Foxbins and hence was not alarmed at all by the TP shortage
I’m in SJP Lovely and well, it’s just lovely.? I ordered a small decant from STC during their sale because I’ve never tried it and have heard good things. It does smell a lot like the original NR for her, I’ll have to try them side by side. Even got a “what perfume are you wearing?” from my husband, which is always a good sign.
I was trying to get some school work done earlier and had to tell my giggling girls to pipe down so I could think straight. This self isolating should be interesting with all of us home this week.
Awe… yay for giggling girls!
Prada Candy Night ❤️❤️
Wishing everyone a peaceful night.
Hi Laura! I was thinking of you earlier today. I hope you are well?
Thank you, sweet dreams to you too!
