I’m wearing one of my favorite no-brainer scents, Aromatics Elixir. When I can’t decide on anything else, this is one of the handful of scents that I reach for.
Wow, so interesting. I would never think of AE as a no-brainer. It takes control of my world, but I love that this one is a no-brainer for you!
I love Aromatics Elixir. Do you enjoy the current formulation?
The current formulation is the only one I’ve ever owned, so I can’t really compare. However, my mother wore Aromatics Elixir when I was a teen, and I remember not liking it on her.

Ha! Yes I should have said Pure Virgin. Funny thing is I don’t get clean at all. My skin amps up sweets so what I get is a touch of powder and a whole lotta almond ( which I love!). I received three compliments today including middle one who swiftly placed my decant in her room. Thunk via confiscation.

Season 4 was good! But you can tell this is a new era/new chapter, with all the new planets, and they are laying a new base for new story lines. So it feels somewhat slower sometimes than season 3.
But its the best looking sci fi show right now I think. I love the art direction, costumes, and most of the actors are doing a great job!

But eating without tasting is so weird and feels so useless (even though you know your body needs the energy).
The no taste thing is awful. We knew a guy who lost his sense of smell/taste after some weird viral thing. It didn’t return after a year- he actually got really depressed and lost a lot of weight. It was really sad.

I watched Green Book over this past weekend. I liked it so much that I looked up some information on the movie. I saw where Mahershala Ali, who played Dr. Shirley in Green Book is also the lead in Moonlight. I will have to check out Moonlight.
Check out the third season of True Dectective as well where he is one of the leads along with Stephen Dorff. I liked it very much.

The vintage is so pretty. I had a little mini splash but it fell and smashed several years ago. The bathroom smelled lovely for a long time after.

That happens to my brand new bottle of Dzongkha back in 2008 or so. Wow I was devastated. It took me years to replace it.

My deck and stairs were crusted with icy show which, ironically, gave me a little traction. started my car twice so the ice would melt. I like to avoid scraping as much as possible. ? They salted the heck out of the roads so they were surprisingly good.

I need a new crown on one tooth but that’s not on the agenda for today yet. (Not after just paying for new hearing aids yesterday.) Why do all these things have to be so expensive? Cuts into the perfume budget!

Scent at bedtime last night (after midnight): Nicolai Fig-Tea, with Demeter Fresh Ginger layered on top. That was spicy and kind of fruity. I don’t know about soothing, but I fell asleep soon afterward.
Based on observation, I’d say that perfume combo was soothing… it sure didn’t keep you awake, wondering what on earth you had done. ?

I’m in PdN Neroli Intense for a nicer day- no rain at least, though the sun seems to have disappeared. I took the morning off to wait for the DEP and landlord to make a run-through to check water usage in the building, which has risen exponentially, apparently. I found an old round-cap bottle of Mechant Loup yesterday on my way back home and snapped it up. Honey and hazelnuts over a dry woods base. Not a hint of amber of vanilla, thank goodness!

Thank you Gail, yes vintage JM is incredibly long lasting especially, you know you can still get the cylindrical with grey bow early 2000s bottles for reasonable prices on this side of the pond, so maybe in the US too.
Too much egg nog last night, so I’m in 1957 and Lily Aldridge Summit. Needed something light and easy. Summit is pretty, but there’s a note that’s kinda wonky on my skin.

Infusion d’Iris is my relaxing perfume du jour. I needed it because I got poor sleep due to GI issues from what I ate for dinner last night. I really needed a good night of sleep because I co-led a short training for another department and was a little nervous about it. But it went really well! And my department plus twp other departments are leaving work at 2 to go to an Italian restaurant for our holiday party. I’m looking forward to delicious food and getting out of work early.
Forgot to mention that I re-tried Sonoma Scent Studio Champagne de Bois because it used to read too urinous on me (same with Incense Pure, Tabac Aurea, and Winter Woods). This was many years ago, and I still have part of a spray sample, so thought I should see if it reads differently on me now. To my delight, it smells beautiful and not urinous! Yay! But boy, is it a powerhouse. I could still smell it this morning after my shower.
The SSS are extraits….so yes, a little goes a long way.
I had that with Incense Pure. It didn’t smell urinous to me, but someone else told me I smelled like cat pee. I wasn’t really comfortable wearing it after that.

And I had a Tibetan nun approach me in an Indian restaurant telling me how beautiful Incense Pure smelled and wanted to know where it could be bought. It’s amazing how our skin can react so differently ?
I don’t think it was my skin. It was someone else’s perception/nose! It smelled fine to me.
Ah! Yes, that’s annoying getting negative comments which then make you no longer want to wear the fragrance.

I’m in OP Bergamask— I don’t think I’ve worn this one in at least a year. I’d forgotten how DARK it is for a citrus! Now that I remember my motivation in picking it up, I’m laughing at my 2016 self a little for my obsession with always smelling a *little* like burning tar.

I am in dire need of calming scents this week. Last night, Mr. Jalapeno texted me that he had been in a fender bender and was talking to the police about it. Can you say “blood pressure spike”? He was OK, and the police determined that it was a no-fault accident. Imagine 2 large American pickups backing out of parking spaces at the same time in close proximity. KLUNK! I haven’t actually been able to see the damage to the rear bumper for myself, since it was quite dark when Mr. Jalapeno got home last night. ?
SOTD = Rihanna Rogue EdP. This little bottle just might be my comfort scent for Winter 2019-2020.
At least he is okay! That is the most important thing. I hope the damage is minimal.
Mr. Jalapeno did not say explicitly that he was OK in his text which was unsettling. He did say minimal damage to the truck when he got home.

I was so happy to see blue skies this morning, and those dark clouds this afternoon were such a bummer!
It was almost comical that the one person with a flip phone got the alert first, the the other phones started beeping. Mine was on vibrate or I would have jumped off my chair!

Yikes. I’m glad he’s okay. Thank God most vehicles don’t back up at high speeds. I was in the NJ office today and we got a snow squall around 4:40ish. It was so cold and the ground barely freezing, causing the snow to melt, then quickly turned into ice given the cold temps.
As near as I can tell, I had about 4 or 5 bursts of snow today. Now the wind is howling outside and making the windows rattle.

I am wearing L’Artisan Mont de Narcisse and still wrapping presents. I got a lot knocked off yesterday, before I had to leave. Now I am back to it.
